Earth is dying, and there is nothing to be done to save the planet. But not all hope is lost for humankind. Ten years ago, a new planet was discovered: Eden, a paradise in the far reaches of the galaxy. The problem? Access to salvation isn’t on an even playing field. The rich buy their way aboard Zenith—an intergalactic luxury ship that will ferry people from Earth to Eden—while the rest must wait for their names to be drawn from The Lottery.
Skyler Andrews knows two things with absolute certainty. First, her family means everything to her. Second, she never wants to leave Earth. Space terrifies her, and that fear is almost as strong as her hate for Mannox Industries—the cold-hearted corporation behind Eden’s discovery and Earth’s migration that controls humankind’s fate. So when she is thrown into a situation beyond her control, she must decide who and what she can trust. Skyler is plunged into a world of luxury, secrets, and danger. And now she must decide if she will take control or let her fears consume her.
Amid the stars, Skyler peels back the layers of deception, where she finds more than just lies, but an unlikely connection has her questioning her heart. Can she uncover the truth and open her heart in the process, or will she only find herself in something far more dangerous and deadly?

I am obsessed with this book. From the very first chapter, it completely hooked me that mix of tension, emotion, and slow-burn chemistry had me glued to the pages. Set mostly on a fleeing spaceship from a dying Earth, the story blends high-stakes survival with an enemies-to-lovers romance that’s pure, exquisite torture. The kind where you’re screaming internally, “just kiss already!” but also don’t want it to end because the build-up is that good. It literally was exquisite torture waiting for our couple to admit their feelings.
The world-building feels so real the mystery, stuck on a spaceship together, the constant sense of danger, the impossible choices they have to make. It’s emotional and claustrophobic in the best way, full of longing and heart. The author does such an incredible job balancing the action and the quieter, emotional moments that hit hard. Watching these two go from rivals to something so much deeper was everything I wanted and more.
And can we please talk about Elliot? My sweet golden retriever boy. He might not have a ton of page time, but he made an impression. His warmth and optimism were such a contrast to the intensity of the story, and that little glimpse of him in the epilogue with that mysterious woman?! I need more of him in book two. Like, need!!
That ending though… how dare. I’m not okay. I devoured this book in under 24 hours and now I’m left pacing like, what do you mean that’s the end?! This was slow-burn perfection with depth, heart, and heartbreak and I’m counting the days until we get the next book. Thanks to the author for the gifted ARC.
“You’re everywhere. In my dreams, my thoughts… they always travel back to you.”
Listen, I know we are all loving romantasy and dark rom-coms - but may I suggest some romanti-sci?? Romantic sci-fi has me obsessed - give me more like this, please and thank you!
Between Earth and Eternity is a story of embracing the unknown, facing your fears, and what it means to be human. Our main character, Skyler, draws a lottery ticket on the maiden voyage of Zenith, the ship built to take humans to a new planet after Earth experiences a near apocalypse that cannot be fixed. Time is running out and Zenith is the promise of a new future.
The problem? Skyler doesn’t want to leave her family. She also happens to have a deep fear of space. She might also hate the family in charge of this whole operation - the Mannox family. They’re rich beyond measure and humanity’s only hope of survival.
I truly could not put this book down. The sci-fi elements were light enough to keep the story from being bogged down, but interesting enough for the story to be utterly engaging. I loved Skyler’s relationship with her family, her best friend Elliot, and the new group of friends she meets once she’s forced to leave home. (This book had me crying before 20%. Heartbreakingly rude.) I also would be remiss if I didn’t speak about the fascinating way this books discusses class issues, financial disparity, and the complexity of humans as a whole.
And we cannot forget the romance. Holy cow. This book is actually pretty spice-less (we’ve been told there will be more to come in book two, which I eagerly await), but the chemistry and banter provided in this book was so steamy!
I also have to say - I loved Skyler. She is stubborn, outspoken (sometimes to her own detriment), and genuine. I honestly loved each character in their own way, but she is my favorite. Every time she stood up for herself or her friends, I was cheering her on.
I don’t want to say any more for fear of spoilers, but I’ll wrap this review up by saying that I loved this book. I will be on the edge of my seat until the sequel comes out! I highly recommend it and I’m so grateful to the author for the ARC. This review is my honest opinion. ✨
Okay damn I'm like 75% through right now but i NEED to speak about this because it is SO GOOD. I am so invested to the point where I legit can't stop reading. ITS INSANE so much has happened and its so amazing This book has captured me so well that i know the second book will make this one of my god tier series Honestly this deserves SO MUCH HYPE because it has got to be one of the best sci fi books ive read!!! Like it gives the vibes of Amie Kaufman's work (which btw is one of my favourite authors) But I'm genuinely amazed by the planning and the plot correlation that has gone into this. Like ideas from the start trickle back in to be major plot points, and its like this insane amount of foreshadowing that is leading to everything The build up is so good that I can tell planning wasn't a short feat. And oh how i love it This mayyyyy be up there with my top ten (maybe even higher) Okay now that ive expressed how much i LOVELOVE LOVE this book img going to do a plot recap for my memory because i WILL be reading the second book (id read like 100 more)
OKAY IVE FINISJED whag the actual fuck This has got to be one of the best sci fi books I’ve read. Like ever Like we focus on humans, their emotions and like how corrupt forces can lead to a world without hope but if it prevails all can be changed But we also had an amazing plot One worth every minute it took me to read Because damn this was sooo well thought out Like I almost called it but I didn’t and the reason that was is because all the puzzle pieces are RUGHT THERE but you can’t fit them together Amazing Genuinely I can’t believe I got to be an arc reader for this masterpiece.
PLOT Okay so we begin on earth in like a future year (maybe 2180?) And we are following a girl named skylar This girl loves earth, loves old history and music and doesn't want to leave earth. She also hates the rich (aka the mannoxes) The Mannoxs are a company/family that has invented space travel. And the reason they had to do this? Because earth is dying and there is no way to heal it So there is going to be a ship - The Zenith - which takes people (a lot) to this new planet names EDEN Uhhh The only people able to board this ship are the wealthy and elite because tickets are exuberantly priced However there are going to be 20 lottery winners. That's the basics of the world for now So then back to skylar We are following her on earth, learning she is scared of space, pf being alone, is sorta antisocial except with her best friend elliot Yadayada But then on her birthday the lottery winners get called out And who gets picked? Skylar So now skylar is going to be in space and with the rich, her two worst nightmares And in doing so she has to leave behind her family and friends (or friend cause sara markus etc all sorta moved to a moon called vega) So well we see during the like 14 days she has on earth her pure anxiety And honestly it is so real because I wouldn't want to be in her position. Hmm After those days end she has to get taken to a quarantine centre to make sure no disease is on the ship. ]that day she made a friend (or two??) these are Ori and Pace (hmmm idk how to feel about the after yet) Uhh but yeah Then she finds a note from her dad, and it mentions tat the preservation centre has been slowly losing stores, and skylar needs to figure it out Then they board the ship and so on so fourth Skylar is friends with Ori, Pace and Laz and everything is…. Okay Howeverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr She has had a run in with Vallen Mannox And this is gonna be a whirlwind… So then all is okay We learn more about our characters Then it moves up plot wise Because now we are going onto a moon called Vega And here it is only Ori and sky But is it? Because sky sees Laz and Pace. But why? I think i knowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww But then before any investigation can occur, she runs into sara (earth friend) who tells her messages aren't going to Earth, people are disappearing and SO MUCH MORE Fuckkkk I think (i havent finished so idkkk) that Pace Vallen and Laz are in on some rebellion against the Mannox (yes a Mannox against a Mannox) and that the earth is actually already dead and that's why shit isn't going through etc, But who knows? But yeah well after that Sky hears Pace and Val (Vallen) talking about her. Saying she cant know shit. BUT WHAT Hmmm She confronts both but they both say we csnt tell you So dead end But then (same day i think?) She goes out with Ori and gets invited to go for drinks with Gemma These friends are Kol and Slade. And Kol is being oddly nice You wanna know why? They take her to the trash disposal Aka a place straight into space And put her in there…. But thennnnnnnnnnnn Val comes and bashes his brother (thank god) and takes Sky to his rooms. He helps her through the panic attack and then still tells her nothing (this may actually be the wrong order of things soryyyyy) But then she sorta gets depressed and locks herself away However when she goes out finally for Oris bday she runs into a certain Val And things get heated And they KISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Yes im excited Uhm After this there is some weird lockdown thing where people are om the ship who arent meant to be Sky being Sky goes to investigate And she sees these people in black space suits. One of which is Val….. And when she confronts h im the following day…. He wont tell her But he has this amazing confession about like hoe its for her safety blah blah (not blah blah UGHHH) And then… she walks away] NOW WHAT Guess i gotta go find out See you soon future Neli Future neli I back Uhm Wait OH YES Okay sooo Where we ended off seems so insignificant in the scheme of things Because after this there is development between Gallen and sky Both are now getting closer and closer. And during this time sky is starting to figure out something is missing But now one will tell her Until Val Being apparently a hopeless romantic Can’t control his heart anymore and tells her And yoh wanna knwo what we find out? Okay so first he shows her a FAKE clip of the AI bots on earth reporting thag earth is officially dead This is to be broadcasted on eden so that zenith has an excuse to to go back And then O top of all this There is a rebellion taking place And this includes Laz Pace Val Runa and so many more people But then sbit turns into more shit Because Alister mannox finds out about it And they need to leave Fast However they will be caught if someone doesn’t do something So sky sacrificed herself And is now in interrogation and is gonna get sent off ship Val is depressed but needs to keep going for her While also dealing with the fact that there is a mole in the group. Then we get an Elliot pov And we see earth is worse then we thought and he is joining the rebellion. YAY but I’m stressing When does book two come out?? I don’t think I can wait.
CHARACTERS
SKYLER okay at the start I was skeptical Like idk she seemed like she didn’t understand life. But that was Only for like one chapter Because once her character developed Oh I love her Like I love how as the main character she is selfless and selfish She has fears She loves too much. And she can’t control what she feels She just feels so human that it makes anyone relate to her My favourite part about her character is probably how she has fears and emotions She is so scared of space and of loosing her family and she was forced to conquer that. But she wasn’t happy about it She fought with all she had to show how she felt Respect. And o top of it we also see her emotions. Like she is always trying to hide them but she CANT because they aren’t meant to be Girly I relayed too much.
VALLEN I KNEW I knew That something good was gonna happen with him I could sniff the enemies to lovers And also the pain behind him I knew he wasn’t like his dad And I hate that he needs to be validated for it Because he is nothing like the selfish money hungry prick thag raised him He is so kind and he just wants what is best for humanity He is willing to do whatever it takes to do that And I also love how he couldn’t contain his emotions either Like he tried so hard to not fall in love To hate and have no hope because he was scared I guess But in the end he couldn’t live like that Because love and hope are often the driving forces begin a person. And without them we would all be bare I think you can see the common theme within this.
Those are the two main characters so now
MENTIONS
ELLIOT Ughh lmg I love my pookie and if anything happens to him I’ll kill everyone Yep You heard me All he ever wanted was to be there for the people he loved He wanted to leave earth but he could t leave his loved ones behind. So yeah Love him
RUNA she is like a morning figure to skyler And honestly she is probably the one who helped SKYLAR a lot She was a steady figure when needed
PACE I don’t like him He is so selfish and he can’t see that skyler doesn’t want him He treats her like a toh to be owned She isn’t SHE IS A WOMEN he doesn’t deserve her
ORI I libe her She is like a bright like in the times of darkness And I’m really hoping that she becomes a bad ass biych in the rebellion And I hope she doesn’t have any evil side
LAZ I libe how he portrays as funny and honestly a little off with the fairies But in reality his brain does amazing things and may be the saving grace for mankind.
HATE
ALISTER oh this man He HITS HIS THIRTU YEAR OLD SON he wants power so much he has let it blind him I feel like this is a real eye opener. Like seeing people who crave power (in books and maybe irl) and seeing how it destroys them Are they bad people or just people searching for more? I knwo he doesn’t have a good side I don’t think he does But also I feel like a villain has their reasons But if he lays a hand on my baby
SLADE the baby mannox Oh he is so cruel I can’t. He is pure evil Legit almost sending sky into space Like I thought maybe a redemption arc but NOPE.
There are so many more characters I could tap about but honestly these are the ones I found most interesting so leave it here But I really loved how each character got their own spotlight We get to see them all throughout like it’s not a one-off thing As I’ve said before This book has had an immense amount of plotting and drafting and it pays off heavily.

This book was the easiest 5 star rating of my life. I would give it 6+ if I could. It was so well written, I was captivated by the story from page one. The plot is so interesting in of itself that even if you don’t love all the characters(which I find hard to believe but hey to each their own) you will still love the story! Our FMC is one of my favorites that I’ve read in a hot minute. She is so real, her thoughts and insecurities and the way she behaves it something that is so relatable and admirable. I love dystopian novels, it’s my bread and butter! This reading this book had me feeling nostalgic but also giddy for this new type of dystopian that’s not YA haha it’s for me as an adult now! I’m so glad this book is a duo because I can’t wait for the story to continue. I was left SHOOK at the end in the best possible way! Do yourself a favor and read this book ASAP. Thank me later! 🤗
I received this as an ARC and was blown away with how much I LOVE this story! The plot was PLOTTING! It was so much more than just a romance. There was mystery, action, and a slow burn that had me in a chokehold. This is the first sci-fi I have ever read and I was hooked on page one. There was so much going on that I couldn’t put the book down. It was absolutely amazing and held my attention to the very end. It was so easy to follow. I never once felt overwhelmed or like I had no idea what was going on. I think I was on page 70 when I knew this was going to be a 5 star book and I was so happy it stayed true and consistent the whole way through. The way this was written, you can tell Shandy loves these characters and put so much love and care in to them. Skyler was written with so much depth and like such a normal person I can imagine just having as a friend. It made me really believe in her and her story. Vallen has so many layers that I loved being able to peel back and learn so much about him. I still feel like there’s sooo many more layers to be peeled back and I can’t wait to see what’s to come! I have never annotated a book until this one. It really pulled on my heart strings and made me think deeply. I truly loved everything about this story and there is nothing I would change. Absolute perfection!! 🥹
“But caring leads to pain, a voluntary risk we make that tends to leave us broken. I’m starting to wonder if maybe selfishness isn’t cruel after all. Maybe it’s a shield from self-destruction.”
This is the perfect story for RomantaSCI fans who love an enemies to lovers trope.
The premise of this book caught my attention. A dying Earth with a plan to evacuate everyone to a planet called Eden, but there are consequences. The evacuation is run by a power-hungering corporation who gives priority to those who can pay for it, but by chance 10 tickets are given to lottery winners. One of which is Skyler, who is reluctant to leave Earth and her loved ones behind.
If I'm honest, it took me a while to get into this book. It was around the 60% mark I started to enjoy it, and the last 20% was gripping.
I liked Skyler and her quirky awkwardness, and I loved the mystery behind Vallan. The twists at the end were great, and the end sets up the next book perfectly. Hoping to see more of Elliot :)
Absolutely adored this romantaSCI. Mandarino is a master at showing the reality of living with anxiety, and the enemies-to-lovers romance in Between Earth and Eternity was executed flawlessly. The characters and emotions felt real, the friendships were brilliant, and that ending left a lot to look forward to. I highly recommend this book.
I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader for this book and WOW, it completely blew me away. It’s a mix of romance, sci-fi, and suspense, set mostly in space, and I couldn’t put it down. The story had me hooked from the start. Full of emotion, tension, and some seriously jaw-dropping moments.
The worldbuilding is amazing, the characters are so real and complex, and there’s just the right amount of slow-burn romance to tug at your heart. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time (and maybe a little heartbroken too 🥹).
This is honestly one of the best books I’ve read in a long time, and I’m already counting the days until book two. If you love character-driven sci-fi with feels, secrets, and high stakes, you need to read this. 🚀❤️
I was so excited to get my hands on this book and it absolutely delivered.
The FMC’s fire and passion pulled me in right away. She loves hard—her family, her friends—and I related to her on such a deep level. She would sacrifice everything for them. Her love for music hit home too. I’d literally die without mine. I could go on and on about that.
And Vallen… don’t even get me started. mmmmmmmm. I love him. I need more of him immediately.
The story starts off a little slow, but it’s worth every second. The author builds the relationships and tension perfectly, and when it all comes together.....it's just perfection.
That ending had me in a chokehold. I screamed. I need book two now. I have so many questions and zero chill. 😭🔥
**ARC READ** First of all, I would like to begin by thanking the author for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book. It truly means a lot to me!
Now let's get into the review. Between Earth & Eternity is a romance sci-fi dystopian novel that follows Skyler, a girl who is ironically afraid of space, yet finds herself traveling and living in it. This contradiction sets the stage for a compelling story filled with mystery, emotion, and growth. The writing style is smooth and consistent, making it easy to follow. A bit more physical movement explanations between the dialogue could enhance the pacing, but overall the flow is well maintained. The characters are nicely written with clear roles and believable emotions. I would say confidently that my favourite characters are Skyler and Vallen. Their chemistry made me curl my toes and giggle from time to time. Their relationship feels sweet and well-paced, never rushed. Exactly what a slow-romance reader wants. The dialogue is engaging and even made me chuckle at times, which is rare for me. The world-building is solid and immersive. I especially appreciated the little illustrations at the beginning of each chapter. They’re a charming detail that shows how much care and love the author put into this book. The sci-fi and romance elements are well balanced. Sci-fi romance is such a niche genre, and it makes me happy to see more representation. The story reminded me of Warcross by Marie Lu and would definitely appeal to fans of The Hunger Games. On a side note, the book cover is absolutely beautiful. I’m a big fan of it- it captures the tone of the story perfectly. The ending was tense and exciting, leaving me hyped for the next book. Overall, Between Earth & Eternity is a heartfelt and engaging read that does not leave you bored for a second!
Between Earth and Eternity by Shandy Mandarino has such a unique premise. I was instantly intrigued when we learn that Earth is dying, and the only way to reach the new planet, Eden, is either by being extremely wealthy or by getting lucky in the global lottery system. That setup hooked me from the start.
Skyler, our main character, definitely has a knack for attracting “danger.” While that predictability was noticeable, it didn’t ruin the story for me. I genuinely appreciated her strong personality, her deep love for her family and friends, and the fight she carried within her.
There was a moment where I thought a love triangle might form, but let’s be honest, once a certain someone made his entrance, we all knew exactly who was going to win her over. I also really enjoyed the supporting side characters; Ori and El had real depth, and I loved what they brought to the story.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this one. It’s my first Mandarino book, and I’m definitely looking forward to book two and seeing how the Ends of Earth duology wraps up.
Genre: YA sci-fi dystopian romance Tropes: strong-willed heroine, high-stakes survival, found family, forbidden romance Spice: kissing only
I found this book when the author comped Passengers on Instagram, and let me tell you, YES—but a hundred times better. Whether you liked Passengers or not, you will love this book!! Earth is falling apart, and Mannox Industries—run by its trillionaire namesake—runs virtually all aspects of what is left, including the evacuation to a world called Eden. It’s truly “survival of the richest,” since the first wave of the evacuation will take only those who can pay obscene sums for their seat. Or, rather, their massive multi-room suite, because to trillionaires, what’s the point of sacrificing luxury to fit more evacuees on the only ship?
Our fiery FMC, Skyler Andrews, hates Mannox Industries and everything they stand for. She and her sweet best friend Elliot work for the Earth Preservation Society, a group spearheaded by her father, tasked with scraping music, books, and movies from old physical copies, since everything digital was lost when the world collapsed. Her Gran is sick and doesn’t have long to live (which broke my heart), and Skyler is deathly terrified of space. So the absolute LAST thing she wants is to win the Lottery, a chance to win one of twenty spots on the first evacuation, in a ship full of the world’s richest.
Spoiler alert—she does.
Once you’ve been chosen, you cannot back out nor transfer your seats, and Mannox Industries will forcibly collect you. Distraught, Skyler parts from her family and Elliot to make the journey to Eden, knowing she might never see them again. Thankfully, she finds her people quickly—sweet Ori, who’s desperately grateful for the chance to leave the poverty of Earth and reunite with her brother on Eden; Laz, who’s the loud and supportive best friend everyone needs; and Payson, an absolute gem and sweetheart who just happens to be cute. ;)
But this trip to Eden is not what it seems…
Mandarino did something impressive, in that she made a character actually seem villainous and then actually made me love him. Enemies to lovers done RIGHT. For about sixty percent of this book, I was rooting for Sky to end up with the absolute most perfect sweetheart, while cursing all the signs that she was attracted to the villain-coded trillionaire. “Don’t you see how wrong he is for her?” my mind screamed, as I despaired of what was inevitably coming—another scenario where the girl would fall for the morally-dark-gray man who’s hot but toxic and problematic. I despaired of how this must become an enemies to lovers when the absolute sweetheart was RIGHT THERE.
But then—then it switched. Possibly due to an “I hate you”. Possibly due to a he-saves-her scene. Possibly due to a wound-tending scene (my favorite thing ever, truly). And suddenly, I needed Sky and her morally-gray man to be together more than I needed air. Mandarino is an absolute genius because this—THIS was the guy!! He gives Rhys vibes from ACOTAR, but less problematic and every bit as broody and mercurial.
I am OBSESSED. I won’t name her new beau, because, you know, spoilers, but you need to meet him. This guy, I swear. I cannot WAIT to read Book 2!!
If you’re a romantasy girlie who lives for steamy enemies-to-lovers, you want this book. If you love royal intrigue with a morally-gray royal heir secretly plotting to depose his tyrannical father, but you’d be willing to give it a space twist, you want this book. If you want a book that explores class discrimination and oppression, you want this book. If you loved Passengers (or even if you hated it) but want MORE from that premise, you want this book.
Romanti - Sci: The perfect fusion of Romance and Sci-Fi
Why not both? While I adore a good romance, this unique blend of romance and Science Fiction- romanti-Sci will truly captivate you. 🤯 The seamless combination of these elements will have you on the edge of your seat, anticipating each new twist.
This author is definitely making waves, and I was lucky enough to join her team from the very beginning. Between Earth and Eternity tells a heartfelt story about stepping into the unknown, facing fears, and exploring what it means to be human.
Skylar, the protagonist, finds herself at the center of this journey after winning the lottery spot on the first voyage of the Zenith, the ship intended to carry humanity away from a near-apocalyptic Earth. As the clock ticks down, Zenith symbolizes a chance for a "new" beginning, but for Skylar, it is also a journey filled with emotional struggles and personal growth. Her experiences, alongside the vividly crafted characters, will pull you into their world. However, there is a catch: Skylar will have to leave her family behind, and she also intensely dislikes the Mannox family. They are the wealthy elites orchestrating the entire operation. With their vast resources and power, they are humanity's last hope. However, their dominance raises significant questions about social inequality and the ethical dilemmas surrounding their control over humanity's future.
Then there is Elliot. His Golden Retriever's loyalty and charm make him a standout character, and it's hard not to fall in love with him. Each character in this book is distinct and lovable, making it challenging to settle on a favorite. (Although, I must admit, Koi is definitely not among them 🤣).
We can't overlook the romance! While this book avoids explicit content, the chemistry and playful exchanges between characters are so intense that they generate real heat. 🥵
Don't let that hold you back; dive into the story.
If you enjoy 👇
- Sci-Fi 🪐 - Romance 👩❤️👨 - Enemies to lovers 🤬 🥰 - Plot Twist 📖 🔀 - Cliff Hangers 🧗♀️ Then this book is for you!
This was my first experience as an ARC Reader, and I was a bit afraid that I wouldn't like it. But as it turns out, I really loved it.
It has everything a romance reader could hope for. Yearning men, star crossed lovers, forbidden romance, enemies-to-lovers, ...
At first, when I started this book, it looked so much like Hunger Games, it was hard not to look for similarities. And in all honesty, it took me a minute, but I really started to love it, when the enemies blurred to something else, not quite lovers yet, I got myself so entrailed in this book, that the second time I picked it up ( I was maybe 40% by then) I consumed it all in one seating.
I love that even though Vallen is supposed to be the villain in her story, he turns out to be so much more than that (and I called it, in the 10th chapter, maybe, she hadn't even met him, I already knew that this would happen). I love that he 'tried' to stay away from her ('tried' is the key word), but couldn't because he was intrigued by her. And that she tried so hard to keep hating him and everything he represented, only to realise it was only a facade he kept to the outside world.
I really like the way the author writes, she gives all the details and all the necessary information for the reader to guess the story before it happens. I was on the edge of my seat for the last couple chapters, and I was so ready for them to be happy together. But there was still so much to happen for the book to make sense. And then of course, the author had to go and make Sky a strong independent female character, and have her save him, instead of the other way around.
I give it 4.5 stars. The 0.5 missing, is because it ends on a cliffhanger, and I really, really, really hate cliffhangers.

First off, how excited was I to have the privilege to get an arc of this awesome space romp? So excited!!! I really need space romance to be the new it genre, its just so much fun!!
And now for the juicy bits, where I will NOT be spoiling anything 😏 (Shandy is the queen of crazy twists that are so much fun to go in completely unprepared for!)
As soon as I opened this book, I was there. Earth is dying, dust clings to everything, and in a last attempt at surviving the end, humanity is fleeing the planet. It felt a little bit interstellar, a little bit deep impact and 2012, and Zara gave me total effie vibes!!! I was crying before chapter 10! Skylers emotions and hesitation were so real! I too would have been petrified and wanting to just stay on solid ground 😅
This story hit so many current event points too, making it feel eerily real. A degrading planet, societal imbalances and the divide between the rich and, literally everyone else, dying oceans, famine, failing air quality, power hungry billionaires who want to rule the world...
And that club scene!?!?! 🥵
And then to end on that cliffhanger!!! With Skyler being the beautiful, heroic idiot that she is!!! (no spoilers no spoilers no spoilers!!!) I.Ate.This.Book.Up!!! Literally, devoured it in less than a day.
Between Earth and Eternity completely pulled me in and did not let go.
From the start, this story felt intentional and immersive, but what truly made it unforgettable was Skylar. She’s strong, layered, and quietly powerful in a way that feels authentic rather than forced. I found myself admiring her constantly and wishing I could grow into someone even a little like her.
The plot unfolds with a steady build that rewards patience, and just when I thought I had things figured out, the story surprised me. The twists felt earned, not shocking for the sake of shock, and the tension in the final stretch—especially the last 100 pages—had me glued to the book.
Going in knowing this was the first book in a duology, I expected unanswered questions, but the ending still left me sitting there in awe. It struck that perfect balance between satisfaction and anticipation, and I immediately found myself eager for what comes next.
This book lingered with me long after I finished, and I already know I’ll be thinking about it throughout the year. If you enjoy emotionally engaging stories with strong characters and thoughtful twists, I can’t recommend this enough—and I highly encourage readers to support indie authors putting this kind of heart and care into their work. What an incredible way to start my 2026 reading journey. I cannot wait for book two.
So, I was handed luckily enough an ARC copy of this book and I don’t regret it. This book is well written and I had many suspicions. Most of them did come true but the ending had me biting into my fist. Because that turn like this? I didn’t see it coming.
The characters are well written, I do love Skyler. I honestly usually have issues with FMCs but not with her. From the moment I dipped into Skyler’s world, she had me. Her flaws and her mind are relatable and considering the way she has to deal with a few things, I find her endearing and brave.
I loved that we saw Elliot at the end again, who’s personally made himself my golden retriever boy, I hope I’m gonna see more of him.
vallen is something I can’t quite put a finger on but he feels like a caring man. He’s not the typical MMC you may read in other books, which makes him so much more likable. Even though, that poor guy has my sympathy at the end.
I totally recommend this book and the cliffhanger honestly is okay. I still want the 2nd book now.

Wow, what a ride! I loved this authors first book and I knew I’d love this one too. It was so much more than I expected and I absolutely loved how everything flowed together. I cannot wait for book 2!
Our FMC Skyler is fierce and everything we want in a FMC in this kind of book. I loved her determination to do what’s right and her spirits to face adversity. As someone who struggles with anxiety I loved the representation in this book of that with Skyler.
Such a unique book and premise and I loved the descriptions of the space ship, Zenith. Like imagine being on a ship that has everything you need??? Its own little city? I’d be in the arboretum and library all day, everyday!!!!
Our MMC is a certified ✨bad boy✨ with a soft side. The author writes him in a way that you (like Skyler our FMC) want to hate him but you can’t help but love him?! Ugh!!!!
So many other characters in this novel really brought this book together. I cannot wait for book 2, did I say that already?!?! 🥹👉🏼👈🏼
“His intensity is like a sun, too dangerous to be this close, but once you look, you can’t pull away, even if it kills you to stay in its orbit.”
I’ve been looking forward to this book for a while, ever since I saw the gorgeous cover. And it slayed. I’m still nursing a bit of a reading hangover.
Between Earth and Eternity was sensational and decadent. Like a cruiseship and Titanic in space. We follow vocal Mannox industries skeptic, leading lady Skyler Andrews on her journey when she’s unwillingly invited to travel with the Zenith to escape a dying earth.
This is an emotional ride. You fall for her family. Her best friend. Her earth. Her really yummy, dark and broody power crush… and the club scene;)
The storytelling is amazing. Moves pretty quick too as we hop through their 13 month journey. I couldn’t put this one down. And the twists… oh buddy, they’re as wild and reckless as our girl sky, and I love her for it!
This is a low spice, slow burn that will leave you simmering after hours 😘
There are so many books out there these days, and I am so picky when it comes to what I’ll read. It takes an especially good book for me to finish it in one sitting.
This book was in that category. I’m completely hooked and I already know I’ll be reading it again once the second book comes out. The storyline is refreshing, the world-building is clear and easy to follow, and the characters are incredibly well written.
I was sucked into the story the moment I read the synopsis, but I stayed hooked from page one. There wasn’t a single page where my interest faltered. Between Earth and Eternity will have you laughing, crying, highlighting swoon-worthy quotes, and definitely adding a few names to your book-boyfriend list.
The only thing I’m disappointed by? That book two isn’t out yet...and I need it ASAP.
Very excited to be able to read this as an ARC! I went into it knowing it was a dystopian romance but that’s about it. I was plunged into the world with ease, with dapples of mystery piquing the interest. This has all of the things you want in a dystopian romance story. As soon as I realized who the MMC was, every encounter between him and the FMC I was giggling with excitement. I was devastated in the beginning, but the romance that built up after that helped ease the loss. Skylar can’t seem to stay out of trouble, which at points has me hiding my head under the blanket not wanting to see what happens to her next. The webs woven between each character help to build the plot and create a mystery within the romance. The ending left on more than one major cliff hanger, but I cannot wait to see what happens to Skylar and her friends.
I was gifted an ARC of this book and I am so appreciative to have the chance to be one of the first readers of this incredible story! ❤️
I’m honestly obsessed with this book. From the very first page, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down! It’s full of mystery, emotion, and just the right touch of slow burn. It had me completely locked into, and I found myself saying “one more chapter” too many times to count.
The story was easy to follow, and the characters felt so real. You can tell just how much care went into writing them. Skyler felt like someone you would meet on the street, and Vallen is one of a kind! I loved getting to see into all his layers and his quirks.
This book made me feel just about every emotion! I laughed, I cried and I am still thinking about it after having finished! Truly such a beautiful story that you 1000% should read. I can’t wait for the next one! 💫
Skyler lives on a dying Earth. That is until her name gets drawn in a lottery that grants her one-way ticket out. She will get a free spot on the luxury spaceship heading to Eden, the new human sanctuary. But once on the ship, she gets pulled into a world of secrets.
I really enjoyed this story. It pulled me in from the first page and kept me occupied until the end. The plot twist took a turn! The romance made me yearn but there was plenty going on that wasn’t the love story, and I really liked that. Overall, I felt like I did when I was a teen reading my first post apo romance series. All the butterflies!
The characters are fun, and Skyler is the best. She's a badass even when she’s a bit terrified, but mostly he’s brave and smart. There are also multiple supporting characters that you root for.
The book is well written. I highlighted so many scenes and sentences. The main characters have emotional maturity and I love them for that!
I can’t wait for the next installment to see where we go from there.
First, THANK YOU to the author for the incredible opportunity to read my first ARC book. There isn’t a more perfect book to have gotten to be selected for. ———————————— REVIEW: MENTION OF NAMES - NO PLOT SPOILERS
This book is just amazing. I got exactly what I’ve hoped for. I have been a sci-fi reader first and foremost for a long time. I dipped a toe and then a whole leg into romantasy around 2023/2024 and I am so glad I did as a long time lover of fantasy films and lore. But the world building and the romance factor was never quite there in the sci-fi books I read in the way it is with BEAE. There is a confidence in the fmc that I admire time and time again across genres and books. This fmc and mmc were a great mashup. And there wasn’t much “will they won’t they” which I appreciate, maybe it’s because earth is dying lol but they didn’t have the time to spare to wonder if they should, they kinda just did. And who wouldn’t take to Vallen like a fish does to water? 💦 😏 😉 water is wet after all…. Aaahem I mean, anyways yes this book was so enjoyable and felt right. I didn’t feel like storylines rushed through character developments or action or dialogue. One of my favorite parts of learning both lead characters was Romy. Giving them something entirely outside of themselves to care about was a great way to show they both have softness and can be accepting of love and giving of love to others even despite trauma and pain and anger. Beautiful book and I want to cry thinking about how I don’t have the second in the duology.
I am honored that I was chosen to be an arc reader! I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but this is full of emotion and adventure and romance! Never read a sci fi before and I am dying for the second one to be ready! The emotions you feel from the FMC are so real and raw, almost as if they are your own feelings. I absolutely can not wait for the book to come out in hard copy so I can add it to my shelf! I will definitely be rereading this in the near future! Between Earth and Eternity
First of all I’m extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to be an ARC reader! I’ve been in a huge reading slump recently and this book has definitely helped to get me out of it!
I relate to Skyler a lot and I loved seeing her character development throughout the book. She’s a great FMC and I know many other people are going to love her as much as I do! I LOVE the anxiety representation; it’s refreshing to have a character who has the same/similar mental health issues as myself❤️ I’m beyond excited to see what else is in store in the next book! I’m absolutely hooked! I’m so proud of you Shandy ❤️
Let me start off by saying that I really love the author and her debut novel, which was written beautifully. I was an ARC reader for that one, so I really feel like I've been with her since the start of her career.
So it pains me to say that I'm very disappointed in this book. I don't want to say much, even though I have a lot to say, because it hurts me to say it.
The first 55-60% of the book was really good, brought tears to my eyes, but the rest of it felt like it was written by a different person entirely. It was rushed, chaotic and just frustrating for me.
And that's all I want to say about it. I debated even writing a review at all, but wanted to be honest.
Don't let this deter you from her other book though, because I truly am her fan and I will definitely read her future works too.
📖 I received an ARC copy and this is my honest review.
I got to be an ARC reader for this book and oh did it exceed my expectations. I have never read a sci-fi romance and this one was so good and the perfect way to get into that sub genre. The story line was super unique and the FMC and MMC were chefs kiss- absolute perfection. The FMC was very relatable and the MMC gave off the “destroy the world for her” vibes. This book was also such an easy read no over complicated worlds, but still gave the right amount of “what will happen next”. This book was like a breath of fresh air and I cannot wait for book 2!
Got this as an ARC read! Sorry I’m so late. Right after downloading I hit a reading slump and work was insane. But this book got me out of my funk !! I feel connected to the characters and the journey. I love this book so much and I can’t wait to hold a physical copy soon! I’m truly lucky to have been an early reader to this book and I know everyone will love it!! I highly recommend. My favorite book of the year so far
This was such a fun romantaSCI read! It's a perfect intro for romance readers who are interested in checking out a new genre.
Mandarino quickly pulled me into this dying world and made me cate deeply for Skyler and her family. And of course, once Vallen was introduced I was sold on him too.
This was such a fun start and I can't wait to see where we go next.
