Thank you Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for this wonderful Earc in exchange for an honest review 🙂♥️.

Picture this, for a long time it has been you and your uncle after he rescued you as a child from being clawed to death by shadow wolves. Your uncle is taken away to join the soldiers at war and you're left in the Aviary, because he got into too much debt and somebody has to pay it. That somebody is YOU 😭.

Then one day a soldier comes to fetch you claiming that the former raven minder at the citadel died during the ongoing war and now you're the replacement. 🙂 Oh and the last ravenminder was your uncle 😬.Great right!? 😃

Then you find out that the 'soldier' is actually the crowned prince and he's an ass who can't take a fucking joke. 🤣 An ass you end up saving from the shadow wolves and also end up having feelings for 🤭.

Turns out that the prince has a twin, a veryyyyyy mysterious twin and his complete opposite.😏

You find out that this mysterious prince has captured a raphon, a creature that's half raven and half panther that belongs to the enemy, and he wants YOUR help to tame it. Apparently you've just been promoted from ravenminder to raphonminder and if you refuse they'll be dire consequences 😬🙆🏾‍♀️

That's the predicament that our fmc Ezer finds herself in. 💁🏾‍♀️ I am so ready to see her revenge era in the next book because she has been through it 💁🏾‍♀️. I love how she doesn't let her scars define who she is.👏🏾🎀

Her friendship with six was so wholesome they both melted my heart😭🎀.I for one need a Raphon too.♥️

The pacing was perfect. 👏🏾
The characters were perfectly written. 👏🏾
The tension between Ezer, Arawn and Kinlear👏🏾.

I know the next book is going to be heartbreaking because of that ending 😭 and I'm HERE FOR IT 💁🏾‍♀️♥️.

"She was, in every sense of the word, forgettable … save for the trio of raised black scars upon her right cheek. Strange, then, that the Ravenminder bore a name as lovely as Ezer."

I absolutely devoured this book! Ravenminder is a captivating story of a seemingly ordinary, lonely and abandoned young woman, with brutal scars on her face, who just might have the power to change the world.

After 2 years alone in a tower minding her ravens, Ezer is forced out into a world that she knows little about. Conscripted to serve in a war that means little to her, by a handsome but mysterious Prince, Ezer is forced to consider what might happen if she chose to care about others, form connections and really live rather than hide away alone.

Freedom had previously been a fleeting and untouchable dream, but now it lingers, just out of reach, but possible, if only she can help a prince save her realm from the dark and evil Acolyte. In the process, she also finds herself developing feelings for not just one prince, but two, twin brothers as different from each other as night is from day.

Lindsay Cummings has weaved together characters that are each flawed in their own way, but real and lovable for who they are. She placed them in a world that pulled me into the story and made me feel each loss, each accomplishment and grasp onto every small shred of hope that maybe something good could come from all of this devastation.

I am hooked! I am excited for the next book and MY what a cliffhanger! That was an ending that I truly did not see coming and a heart wrenching plot twist or three that made me hurt for the characters in the story.
I will absolutely be continuing this series and cannot wait to see where Lindsay takes us in the next 2 books!

Thank you to Lindsay Cummings for allowing me the pleasure of reading an ARC of Raveminder so that I could experience this journey with Ezer, Arawn, Kinlear and Six.

My heart is still racing! Wow! WOW! If this doesn’t become the next big booktok sensation, then the system is BROKEN. I am stunned.

Now look, this did nothing to deter me from wanting giant ravens to exist in our world. This just added ravens crossed with black panthers to the mix. Think of the sustainability alone! Just sayin’.

Now onto the plot. So much happens in this book that I will inevitably fail to accurately describe it. We have twin princes (and they are a whole thing believe you me), we have mysterious magic gifted by the gods…or not because they are fickle bitches, we have giant raven + panther creatures called raphons, we have giant freakin eagles, shadow wolves, dark creatures, and a young woman named Ezer with a very mysterious past. The whole societal system is based on faith and punishes those who were seen as failing to be faithful enough (yeah that doesn’t sound like anything in the modern world whatsoever). This is a 500+ page book that feels like it’s barely 200. It’s fast paced and packed with so much action you’ll fly through the pages. I ate this book up in under two days. I have no regrets. It comes out Oct 23 and you need to run to KindleUnlimited and get yourself a copy. (And please come back here and tell me what you thought of it! If you don’t love Six with your whole heart…well, that’s a you problem.)

Lindsay Cummings, you are amazing! This was…out of this world good and I can’t stop thinking about it. Thank you so, so much to have the privilege and opportunity to read this incredible book as a gifted eARC. All opinions are my own. And my opinion is that this book is a must-read!

Long & somewhat complex but I really enjoy this one! Fantasy romance can't just be a romance anymore for me. I need good plot twists and a little more grit. Raven Minder definitely delivers with morally grey characters and twisting motivations throughout.

* Also partial to anyone who becomes attached to their loyal steed, as I'm highly attached to mine lol (Manon will forever be a favorite character and the loss of Abraxos still haunts me - so I got VERY attached to Six and Ezer pretty quickly.)

After that fantastic cliffhanger and a few surprises I definitely didn't see coming - I'm definitely ready for book 2!

**Thank you to Lindsay Cummings for the advanced reader copy. I received this book for free, but all thoughts are my own. – SLR🖤

This was absolutely phenomenal until about 90% then it kind of dropped off an abrupt plot cliff and I'm upset about it. Enough to drop a 5 star read to 4 over the last 10%.

Still a great read I'm just mad and also disappointed that the last (and arguably most important part) of the book was... not it.

I'm not typically one to dwell on the negatives so what this book did amazing.. was well everything else. An epic fantasy with a tantalizing slow burn that had me screaming when they locked gazes. It has an FMC with a no-nonsense attitude and actually stands up for herself, has a mouth but is not crass, and actually says what she means. The males in this story were just as well written and had me constantly guessing. If Ravens, giant Eagles and giant cat/bird hybrids sound like fun to you, you're in for a ride. Literally.

Be warned that while there is a heavy romantic plot, it's fade to black. Do not go in expecting spice, not that it needs it.

Solid read, will read the second book when it comes out.

This book had me HOOKED from the beginning, and all the way through. I couldn't put it down and when I had to (boo work!) I thought about it, where the story was going, what would happen next... I literally couldn't focus until I finished.

Ezer had a turbulent childhood, with losing her parents at a young age, she'd been raised by her 'uncle' until he was taken to the war of the Acolyte and didn't return. For two years Ezer was the Ravenminder for the prison in the south, until one day, a knight comes to take her to the citadel in the north, the war front. their journey is eventful and left Ezer feeling connected to the knight, who she learns is the Crown Prince Arawn. When they arrive at the citadel, Arawn introduces Ezer to his brother Kinlear and sparks fly.

The relationships with the princes had me torn, at first I thought the chemistry with Arawn drew me in and I was rooting for them, but as soon as we met Kinlear my allegiance shifted (sorry Arawn), and even as Ezer and Arawn's relationship blossomed, I was still rooting for Kinlear but then WHIPLASH - what was that?! I don't want to add a spoiler but you'll know when you get to the part I'm referring to, brace yourselves though, it's around 90% and will leave you shook.

Ezer gets an upgrade from Ravenminder... to Raphonminder - this transition was EVERYTHING. I absolutely adored the bond between Six and Ezer, and the strength that this brings them both is just beautiful.

The twists and turns in this story was unbelievable, I saw some of them coming, others I just didn't. and they floored me!

The ending was so unexpected, I was left reeling and I can't rest until I get my hands on book 2!!

✨ARC Review

Did I just absolutely devour this ARC in 24 hours? Yes, yes I did. Did I love every single second of it? Another resounding YES.

This book is going to blow up. The realm is so unique, the magic fresh, and the world building had me hooked. I adored the FMC, her willpower, growth, bravery, and snark despite crazy circumstances made her so fascinating. 🙌

The twin brother MMCs? Polar opposites, but both so compelling. I loved their respective friendships (and flirtations 👀) with Ezer such a 👩‍🍳 💋 dynamic.

And that ending… straight up criminal. Straight. To. Jail. I need book two immediately. Trying to write this review with no spoilers is so hard! I want everyone to read this immediately, well immediately upon release 😝!

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Ravenminder is the first book in an explosively captivating fantasy series that I am so excited to read more from!
We follow the POV of Ezer who's spent two long years chained within a prison towers aviary paying for the debts of her uncle who was the man who rescued her as a baby from shadowwolves who killed her mother. Ezer is a Ravenminder, which means she trains and cares for Ravens. When a prince arrives and takes her to serve in the war against the realms enemy, the Acoloyte whom they've been battling for decades, Ezer finds herself being conscripted for another job as a Raphonminder under the direction of the prince's twin.
Raphons are part Raven and part Panther, and for some reason, Ezer can communicate and is the only human to ever get close to one without being killed.
As Ezer starts to train the raphon she names Six, she starts having vivid dreams featuring her mother. And as Ezer uncovers more and more about her surroundings, the past, the war, and her gifts, she becomes close to both prince's and finds herself caring for others, and this scares her.
The ending of this book completely threw me, and I did not see it coming! Ezer is an amazing character with so many layers, and I can't wait to read book 2 and find out more. I adored Six the raphon, and I now have a new love of magical beasts other than dragons!
If you read any book next year, please make it this one. You won't be disappointed!

Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for letting me read this early arc of RavenMinder . Here js my review! 🤩

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ravenminder ARC by Lindsay Cummings was such a fun and addictive read! From the moment I started it, I couldn’t put it down. I devoured the entire book in just two days! 😅

Our fierce FMC was everything I love in a heroine. She was unstoppable, intelligent, brave, loyal, compassionate, and determined. Even when the weight of the world was crashing down, she never backed down, even when running away felt like the easier path. Ezer’s traumatic past and painful experiences didn’t define her. Instead, they fueled her strength and resilience, making her fight even harder 💪🏻 (well, she did need a bit of training 🤭with certain someone 😏)

I truly enjoyed watching her character grow and develop throughout the entire story. I was so happy to see her finally make friends and form close relationships after being isolated for so long, even though some of those connections were constantly shifting and full of uncertainty.

Her journey of discovering who she really is, unraveling secrets, and figuring out where alliances truly stand and who the real enemies are completely captivated me. The world-building was phenomenal. It was so rich and detailed. The story was filled with action, danger, anticipation, and constant twists around every corner.

I especially loved the way the visions/dreams were written with such eeriness and depth. The entire time I was reading this book,it felt like I was watching a movie. The writing flowed so naturally, and the fast pacing kept me fully engaged.

The romance was really well done.I loved the banter, bickering, tension and the deliciously slow burn.It had that enemies-to-lovers-to-something even more complicate….It was tense and exciting, and it kept me on my toes because you never really knew how things were going to play out. I am absolutely rooting for Ezer and Arawn, but at the same time, my heart breaks for Kinlear.🫣👀

Also, I am completely obsessed with SIX. I want a mount like that for myself. She is simply the best and the cutest 💕.

And the ending? I am still not over it. I need the next book immediately! 😭📚

4.5 ✨

Summary:

In a kingdom ravaged by war, Ezer survives as the Ravenminder of Rendegard, imprisoned in a tower aviary, bound by debt, and haunted by prophetic dreams of her own violent death. Marked by strange scars and an uncanny affinity with birds, she knows she doesn’t belong, but she doesn’t yet know why. When a Sacred Knight recruits her for a dangerous mission against the dark force known as the Acolyte, Ezer is thrust into a world of secrets, living weapons, and impossible choices. As she forms an unbreakable bond with a fearsome raphon—half raven, half panther—and is drawn between the loyalty of a noble knight and the allure of a mysterious prince, Ezer must confront the truth behind her powers, her dreams, and the darkness that may have always been her destiny.

Tropes / Vibes:

🖤 Dark romantic fantasy
🦅 FMC with a rare, mysterious gift (can’t wait to see what this is all about!)
🔮 Prophetic dreams & fate vs free will
🗝️ Imprisoned heroine/captive past
🗡️ Sacred knights & shadowy orders
🐦 Magical creatures (raven gryphon energy)
👑 Prince with secrets
⚔️ Love triangle with emotional tension
🌑 Moral gray choices
🔥 Slow-burn romance
🖤 Touch of darkness within the FMC
✨ Found strength & identity

My review:

Gahhhh, this book gave me all the feels. There’s just something about a “which guy will she choose?” storyline that gets me every time, and this one easily lands among my top reads of the year. Not gonna lie though, I was Team Kinlear, so I’m really hoping he redeems himself in the next book 🤣

Six absolutely made this story for me. I adored her, and honestly, if creatures like that existed in real life, how cool would that be? This book tugged hard on my heartstrings. Even the plot points I thought I had figured out were written so well that I still had an absolute blast reading them unfold.

Fair warning: if you hate cliffhangers, do not start this until book two is out—seriously. I’m fully on the edge of my seat waiting for what comes next. I’m especially curious to see where things go with Zey, and I desperately need more answers about Ezer’s mom.

And can we talk about how much I loved Ezer as an FMC? She takes hit after hit and doesn’t just survive—she carries it all and keeps moving forward. I’m also obsessed with the stone and the way she and Arawan communicate through it. It reminded me of those playground “telephone” tubes we used to shout through as kids, which made it oddly nostalgic and fun.

The magic system is unique, engaging, and just fun. This story completely pulled me in, and I was genuinely captivated by the writing from start to finish. Huge thank you to NetGalley and Lindsey for the ARC now I need book two like my life depends on it. 😩📖✨

Wow, that ending!!! 2 twin princes, and mythical beasts was all I needed to hear to immediately want to dive into this book!

Ezer considers herself insignificant, she was attacked by shadow wolves as a baby, the only survivor, leaving her face scarred with 3 vicious black lines. She was taken in by her uncle, but when she was forced to take his place as a Ravenminder, essentially training ravens to carry messages during the war, she finds herself shackled in a tower to pay off his debt working for free. Until a mysterious warrior shows up and tells her that her uncle dies, and she’s to come to the frontline to take his place.

When their journey takes a turn, and they are attacked, she saves him, and he now owes her a life debt. She later finds out he may not be just a warrior at all.

After arriving to the frontlines she comes face to face with the enemies beast, when it doesn’t immediately kill her, they decide she now has a new task. Forced to train with the prince to kill their enemy, while mysteriously drawn to his twin brother…what could possibly go wrong.

This book kept me guessing the entire time, the plot twist, trust no one, the betrayal in this book was next level! I cannot wait for the next book! I have read so many romantasy books, and this one was such a fresh take, I loved that it wasn’t predictable and it kept me turning the pages!

Dear gods the way I DEVOURED the book is unreal. I got the email about ARC copy and SCREAMED. I’m such a massive fan of any kind of polytheistic lore. Truly could read it 24/7.
So when I got into this one and was hit with nostalgia and a sense of wonder like you wouldn’t believe I was in SHOCK.
Six truly hit every heart moment I wanted for her. Ezer has absolutely captivated me. I’m so upset that the book is over, but so freaking excited to see what’s in store.
I spent several hours stuck in this loop of laying down and sitting up because I was attempting to figure out what would happen next.
I cannot wait to purchase the released copy. And I’m gonna need more of this world because dear god.
I’m truly trying to avoid spoilers because ultimately going in with nothing was the greatest decision.
Ezer truly touched a part of my heart. The bond between her and Six is so so beautiful. The trust building and everything was just immaculate.
I could go on and on but I think the biggest takeaway is for those that love truly sinking into a book and getting that full experience of it in your mind this is absolutely the book to read. I truly cannot wait for more.

I was chosen as an ARC reader for this book. It's the first time that's happened! A phenomenal book for my first ARC. But now the problem is I will be waiting even longer for the sequel. And it's been about 5 minutes since I finished and it's already killing me!

I’ve been a longtime fan of Lindsay Cummings, and I’m so thrilled she’s stepped into the romantasy realm. Personally, I would’ve loved the romance to be a little spicier and more front-and-center—it leaned a bit YA for me—but I get it, and it didn’t take away from the magic.

The story itself? So intriguing. The concept feels fresh, the lore beasts (raphons!) were a standout, and the magic laws were distinct and well thought out. I genuinely couldn’t tell which side of the war was good or evil—and I loved that complexity.

Now I’m counting down to the sequel. I need to know what Ezer does next, who the real big-bad is, and what’s going on with the love story(ies?). I’m craving closure—but I’ll wait (impatiently) for the next installment!

Emotional • Dark Fantasy • Empowering

Ezer’s story broke my heart in the best way. From the very beginning, her journey was heavy with grief and tension, and I could feel every ounce of her pain. The way the two princes manipulated her emotions made the story both infuriating and impossible to put down. It was such a powerful look at how easily trust and love can be twisted into something cruel.

What I loved most was how Ezer’s strength grew through it all. Her bond with the raphon and the way she slowly reclaimed her identity was beautiful to watch. She was not just surviving, she was rediscovering who she was and what she deserved. The writing was vivid and haunting, and the world felt dark yet full of hope.

This book stayed with me long after I turned the last page. Ezer’s courage, heartbreak, and growth made Raven Minder unforgettable.

“But then she remembered who she was. No longer without wings. She was a Raphon Rider. She was Six’s Rider. And she didn’t care anymore how far the drop ahead of her was, how dangerous the flight. She did it afraid. And she loved every damn second of it.”

First, thank you author Lindsay Cummings for my ARC copy.

Overall Thoughts: I knew before I even started this book, that I would love it. The writing style of this book is exactly my taste. How our author writes is so thoughtful, purposeful and clever. The book flows so well. Even though it’s well over 500 pages, it’s one of those reads that goes quick and you don’t want to stop reading. The world was lovely and I want to know so much more. We are given snippets of the realms, but only further books will delve into this world and give us answers. The cast of characters were thoughtfully written, easy to connect to, and left me with wanting to know so much more about them. There is love, friendship, loyalty, bonds, deceit, lies, evils, and a yearning for answers.

I adore the way this story kept me, the reader, wanting more. The magic system is shrouded with mystery. There’s so much to peel back, but we are given answers slowly and carefully.

Ezer: As a FMC she is one of my favorites! She may understand her limitations, but she also knows how powerful she can be. She is sassy, strong, and thoughtful. From the beginning she is covered in mystery. The way her character develops over the course of this book is masterful. She loves deep and understands the bond she must make. Ezer rises to each challenge she is given and as she begins to understand the truth about herself, she is given a choice about her path. Ezer is loyal to those she shares the closest bond with. Ezer’s friendship and bond with Six is beautiful. It rivals the bond Rebecca Yarros creates in the 4th Wing series between the dragons and its riders. Although, this bond is quieter and softer.

Arawn: Oh this MMC is wrestling with his own personal demons. But he is soft and kind. He is a warrior trying to find his way back as he is to be king someday. Arawn has been hurt deeply and as the story unfolds, he slowly lets Ezer into his thoughts and world in a way that is masterful. How he devises a way to communicate with Ezer is so lovely. Their relationship really is built on a solid friendship foundation. The romantic aspect develops organically with two people who have a great respect for each other. Are we still left with many questions about Arawn? Absolutely. But I am eager to unwrap his life more.

Kinlear: He is the second born. The spare in this world. He grew up very differently Arawn. He is weaker, overlooked and struggles to find his way. Kinlear’s choices are seemingly selfish, deceitful, and he will do whatever he can to ensure his own protection. He also cares for Ezer. But that only goes so deep.

Six: Six deserves to be recognized as a main character in this book. She is instrumental to this story in so many ways. Her way of communicating, her strength, and her loyalty to Ezer is beautiful. As stated above, Ezer and Six’s bond is deep, thoughtful and I would love to see where it goes from here.

Final thoughts: Things are not always what they seem. The twist towards the end I honestly did not see coming! I sat for a full minute with my mouth hanging open. I am usually pretty good at making predictions, but there was a turn that threw me for such a loop. We are left with more questions. We are left with a cliff hanger. We are left with our heroine making a choice that can change the fates of the realm. I, for one, cannot wait for the second installment. I crave this world and have to know more!

Phewwwww baby this was MESsssSsssSssyYyyYyyy
(In the best possible way).

I never freaking knew what was going to happen. The whole time I was like ahhhh I know how this is gonna go but nah I sure did NOT! The ending was actually crazy? And the next book is going to be insane with the way that ended….the set up for DRAMAAAAAA!!!

I really do love the idea of what side is actually the right side type vibes because a lot of times there is no right or wrong it’s complicated and messy.
And this is lowkey a brother love triangle kinda sorta almost a little idek.
Every single relationship in this book was a dumpster fire of chaos.
This is good I LOVE drama.
It was THE BEST POSSIBLE MESS.

Also SIX IS ADORABLEEEEEEEEE. The cutest little animal since Abraxos. I love this little angel & the way she communicates with the FMC.

The only thing that I deducted stars for was the pacing. A lot of the book is training and that is good but then a big portion of the lore that’s essential for the plot moving forward is told as flashbacks, nothing wrong with that - it does make sense in the context, it’s just not my really my personal preference for a story.

& the fact the author used “…” nearly every paragraph. Not sure if this is in the finalized version because I read the ARC but it started to kinda drive me crazy and would take me out of the story because it was all I started to pay attention to.

I don’t know what this was marketed as but it was definitely YA!
Fans of The Lightlark Series & The Powerless Series - you would absolutely eat this book UP!

Thanks to Lindsay Cummings & NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I had the absolute privilege of receiving an ARC of Ravenminder by Lindsay Cummings, and this book completely swept me away! I devoured it in one sitting because I simply could not put it down. From the very first chapter, I was hooked.

The worldbuilding is rich and atmospheric, with layers of magic, history, and mystery that unfold in such a natural way. You can tell how much thought went into every detail—it feels both grounded and otherworldly at the same time. I don’t normally read much with polytheistic lore, but the way it was woven into this story completely pulled me in. It added so much depth to the culture and magic of the world.

The characters are what truly made the book shine. Ezer quickly became a favorite of mine—she’s resilient, strong, and determined, but also layered with a vulnerability that made her feel real and relatable. Her relationship with Six was one of the best in the book. The dream sequences were particularly vivid and haunting, building tension in such a slow, deliberate way that made the final chapters even more impactful.

And then there’s the romance—I kept going back and forth between Arawn and Kinlear on who I wanted Ezer to end up with. I’m definitely rooting for Arawn, but I can’t help feeling bad for Kinlear. The dynamic between the three of them kept me invested and constantly second-guessing where things might go.

I’ll admit, some of the twists I thought I had figured out, but that didn’t lessen the impact when they hit. And that ending…how am I supposed to survive until book two?! It left me reeling in the best way possible—completely stunned, full of questions, and desperate for more.

Ravenminder is an epic, magical, twisty, beautifully written story that I think fantasy readers are going to eat up. It has everything—an immersive world, a unique magic system, characters you want to root for (and maybe a few you want to throttle), and an ending that will live rent-free in your head. Lindsay Cummings absolutely nailed it, and I cannot wait to see where this series goes next.

It took me a little while to find my footing in this one, but once I did, I couldn’t stop reading. The writing is great — immersive without being heavy — and the pacing hits that sweet spot where every chapter pulls you a little deeper in.

Ezer is such an interesting main character, and I loved discovering the truth of her past right alongside her. The way Lindsay Cummings wove dreams, memories, and the present together gave the whole story this layered, almost haunting quality that really worked.

And then there’s Six. The animal companion of my heart. If anything happens to Six, I simply cannot cope.

The romance was not my personal favourite part of the book but it was fine (didn’t take center stage, which honestly fit the tone), but to be fair i am not a huge fan of love triangles to begin with.
That (you will know which one) plot twist though? I did not see it coming — and the extra twist on top of it was insanely well done.

After that ending, I’m so curious to see where the next book is going to take us.

Thank you so much to Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for providing me an eARC through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Lindsay Cummings makes her romantasy debut with Ravenminder.

ARC Review 4.5/5 stars
Publication date: October 23, 2025

Ezer works in the aviary at Rendegard Prison as the Ravenminder. She is the keeper of the messenger birds that deliver ongoing news of the war with the dark Acolyte. Ezer has always had a special connection with the birds.

Right from the start Ravenminder had my attention. It was packed with action and the mystery about Ezer's past was done so well.

When a sacred knight with hair as pale as snow comes for her, Ezer learns she has been drafted into the service of the Lordachian Army. Ezer soon discovers that the knight is actually Arwan Laroux, the Crown Prince of Lordach.

What to expect

-Forbidden love
-Enemies to lovers
-She falls for twin brothers
-Hidden powers
-Raven gryphon
-Unique magic
-Secrets and betrayal

Ravenminder will pull you in with its plot, unique world building, character development, and twists you won’t see coming. I am still in shock from that ending!

A heartfelt thanks to Lindsay Cummings for the eARC of Ravenminder. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this addictive story!

You know that feeling when you read the first chapters and just know this is going to be a 5-star book?

For some reason, I was sold when I read: “She was, in every sense of the word, forgettable… save for the trio of raised black scars upon her right cheek. Strange, then, that the Ravenminder bore a name as lovely as Ezer.”

Scars? Ravenminder? Who is this girl? It instantly piqued my interest, and I wanted to know everything! I made 128 highlights in the book... I think I may have broken a personal record 👀

Why was it always the heartless ones who looked so damned good on the outside?

🔮 The Plot

Ezer, a girl marked by strange magic, is recruited by a Sacred Knight to help Lordach fight the dark Acolyte. Tasked with taming a deadly raphon—half raven, half panther—she becomes vital to a mission that could decide the kingdom’s fate. But as she grows closer to both the loyal Knight and the enigmatic Prince, Ezer must choose where her heart and destiny truly lie.

The premise promises danger, intrigue, a touch of love, bonding, and raphons… and it absolutely delivers!

🐦‍⬛ 👑 The characters

He raised a dark brow. 'Did you miss me, Ezer?'
'Like a knife to my brain,' she said.

Ezer is a fierce woman, ready to fight for the people she loves. She isn’t perfect: she’s flawed, she stumbles, she doubts herself, and yet that’s exactly what makes her so compelling. The obstacles she faces are anything but easy, and she carries herself through them with incredible resilience. Strange as it may sound about a fictional character, I honestly felt proud of her! Proud of her strength, her courage, and the way she handled both victory and defeat.
The parts where she rediscovers herself with Six might be my absolute favourite chapters.

‘You chose him,’ he said gently. ‘Didn’t you?’
‘I…’ She didn’t know what to say. So, the truth was what came out. ‘In another life…. I might have chosen you.’

Arawn & Kinlear: I don’t want to spoil too much, because their story is best discovered as you read. But I will say this: rarely do I find myself genuinely torn in a love triangle. Usually, I know from the start who I’ll root for, but here? Both men (TWIN PRINCES!! 😍) are complex; they’re not just good-looking arm candy added to the story. Their backstories are rich and layered, leaving you constantly craving more.

I was so thankful that the author announced novellas in both men’s POV because I need more. At this stage, it’s no longer a want, it’s a NEED ❤️‍🔥

Ezer rolled her eyes, because it wasn’t her fault that just yesterday, Six had thrown her off and sent her careening against the prince, where they both came up trembling, covered in snow. It was because Six saw a bird.

And besides the main characters, we have a good number of side characters that will keep you entertained. Six is, of course, a major one you’ll end up obsessed with!

📝 The writing, pacing and structure

No complaints here. The book is long (500 pages), but not a single page felt wasted. The pace is exactly what I want in a fantasy book: a perfect balance between action, humour, tension, banter, meaningful moments, and descriptive writing. Everything has its purpose. You can savour each moment while witnessing Ezer’s growth and the evolving bonds around her.

Everything is so well-crafted. I’m genuinely impressed with Lindsay’s growth since reading The Murder Complex.

'Do it in spite of the fear,' he said to her. 'Do it afraid. All of it. Every moment in life. That's how you beat the fear. You do it all afraid, and suddenly, it isn't so scary anymore.

🏰 The world building

The magic system of the Five Pillars, the Acolyte, the Sacred Knights,... it’s fascinating. At first, it seems simple, but as Ezer’s journey unfolds, you realise there are so many layers. I loved how Lindsay revealed the world gradually, giving us intriguing glimpses that kept me hooked.

‘You are everything I’m not. Everything I wish to be, because you do not bend to the will of anyone but yourself.’

📖 My reading experience

Over the past week, I’ve been completely immersed, and now I feel a little lost, knowing I can’t curl up with it tonight.
I didn’t expect to grow so attached to the world and the characters. A couple of times while reading, I thought I knew where this was going, but nope. I was very often surprised by a plot twist that left me unable to put the book down.

And that ending? DAMN 🤯 There are so many things that now make sense, yet I somehow guessed completely wrong.

I am beyond excited to continue this series!!

ARC REVIEW
5 ⭐️ SJM said she was hooked from the very first pages and so was I. This exceeded my expectations. Did I expect my first ever ARC to be a five star read? Nope. But here we are. Easy five stars! The writing style? Amazing. The world building? Phenomenal. Lindsey wrote such an original and unique story and world that keeps you turning the pages. Not only did she give us a new book boyfriend(s), she also gave us Six. I promise you will fall in love with her. I like spice and this book was closed door, but the plot was so good I still devoured it. I predict this is going to be the next popular romantasy!

⭐ ARC Review ⭐
This book had me hooked! I’m so thankful for the opportunity to read this ARC — when I wasn’t reading The Ravenminder, I was thinking about it.

I love a good romantasy, and this one absolutely took the cake. The story beautifully blends magic, danger, and emotion, while weaving in one of my favorite tropes — enemies to lovers. Cummings’ writing feels both lyrical and sharp, pulling you into a world that’s wild, haunting, and impossible to leave behind.

Perfect for readers who crave dark magic, yearning, and a heroine discovering her own power. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the next book! 🖤🪶

WOW WOW WOW.
Devoured this book in 2 days.

I love how the author made this book so different. Yes, it has similar fantasy and romance aspects as others, but she really made it her own. She created a super unique magic system within this story that keeps me wanting more.

The character arc of our FMC.. incredible. She went from being shackled in a tower to creating a life for herself and gaining a new found family... along with being a total badass in the end and bonding with a super cute/stubborn raphon.

The twin princes… I don’t need to say anything else other than TWIN PRINCES. One light and one dark. I love Ezer and Arawn, but I’m slightly rooting for Kinlear.

I think this is a great read and am super impressed by the author.

In DESPERATE need for a book 2.

"For anyone that's ever wanted to quit on themselves
...Stay in the fight"

I absolutely loved Ravenminder!! From the very first page, I was completely immersed in Ezer’s world. The magic system is unique and feels fully fleshed out. Her connection with birds, especially the raphon "Six," is beautiful, and it plays such a huge role in the story (hence the name) without ever feeling gimmicky.

Ezer is such a compelling fmc/protagonist. She’s haunted by her past and carries real scars (both literally and emotionally) but her growth throughout the story feels so earned. Her struggles with destiny, duty, and the talking wind had me invested in every decision she made. I also loved the way her relationships were handled: the tension, the romance(s), the alliances--it all felt layered and realistic, never forced.

The pacing is perfect... balancing high-stakes missions, political intrigue, and quieter emotional moments. The story had me on edge one moment and tearing up the next, and the stakes felt SO dangerous. There were twists & reveals that I didn't see coming, and I loved that the book kept me guessing while still giving the characters space to grow. Side note: I hate when a mysterious/secrets-revealed subplot overshadows the character arc... this book does not fall into that trap.

The world-building is phenomenal. Lindsay Cummings makes Lordach and its surrounding lands feel alive and dangerous, full of creatures and magic that are both breathtaking and terrifying. The bond she shares with Six in particular was incredible... so vividly described that I could picture it all perfectly.

Honestly, I could finish this review right here without even mentioning the twin prince brothers, which is really a testament to how much I loved the FMC and this world 😂 HOWEVER !! I would be remiss to leave out that Ravenminder features a well-done forbidden love + love triangle trope. There is incredible banter, bickering, and even “one sauna” moments 🔥

Sigh... I really could gush about this book forever.

If you love fantasy with a rich, immersive world, morally complex characters, high stakes, and a heroine who is fierce but still human...for now... Ravenminder is a must-read (and reread)

I feel like I have to add that this is a fade-to-black romantasy. When I initially posted that I was reading Ravenminder, a lot of people questioned me about that portion of the book. The lack of open-door spice didn’t bother me at all, and I didn't feel like it was missing anything! I would recommend this to both YA and Adult Fantasy Romance readers.

Thank you Lindsay for the eARC!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This book is one that feels like a hidden gem, one that’s bound to gain the attention it deserves. A story I feel lucky to have discovered so early. Thank you to the author for an ARC of this book, which has in no way impacted my review. All of these thoughts are 100% my own truthful opinions. Consider me obsessed and in desperate need of a sequel!

I have been telling my friends for WEEKS that I wanted to read something fresh and entirely different from what I had been reading lately. I wanted something unique that would pull me in from the very first page and keep me on the edge of my seat until the very end. This book did all of that and more. From the moment I read the first chapter, I was absolutely enthralled and I found myself staying up all hours of the night just to know what happened next.

One of my favorite parts of this story was the bond between Ezer and her bonded raphon (a raven + gryphon hybrid) named Six, because it hit so close to home for me. The loyalty, the quiet comfort, and the way they understood each other even without spoken words was so well written and reminded of my own bond with my dog (who has pulled me out of the darkness with his constant presence). Not to mention that I can’t help but picture Six as Toothless, and I love Toothless inspired winged companions! And if you’re a cat person, you’ll adore Six’s quirks.

I’m not a fan of love triangles, because I usually find myself rolling my eyes and throwing the book across the room as the main character makes questionable choices. However, this one was so well done I couldn’t help getting attached to both of the princes’. In fact, halfway through the book I loved Ezer’s interactions with both MMCs and found myself rooting for both of them?? This is a story best described as not 100% a love triangle, but it’s not 100% a why choose either. It teeters the edge in away that I have only ever experienced in one other series, and I was captivated by that.

I laughed out loud on more than one occasion thanks to the dialogue and witty banter. Ezer is quick with her combacks, is not afraid to put the Princes’ in their place when needed, and is all around a strong lead. She is not a damsel in distress, but instead finds the strength within herself to be her own hero. I’m beyond excited to see where this journey takes Ezer and Six.

Overall, this story was heartfelt, flawlessly paced, and impossible to put down. Perfect for fans of Sarah J Maas, Raven Kennedy, Cassandra Clare, and Rebecca Yarros.

Read if you love:
🪶 Enemies to lovers
🪶 Forbidden love
🪶 Sassy magical creatures (Toothless/Abraxos vibes)
🪶 Feisty FMC with growing power
🪶 Overcoming trauma
🪶 Elemental Magic
🪶 TWIN princes (tension with both👀)

Love the dark world fantasy in this one!!!!

To be honest the first 40% of the book had me cringe with the pronunciations and that the creatures, Raphons (Ruh-fawns) are half ravens and half griffons but then later depicts the body as panther-like. And when they are babies they are called pups and not kittens which confused me a lot.
Other then that, I loved meeting Arawn (again I struggled to say his name right) the prince who “fetches” for Ezer (Ay-zurr, yah, I know) an enprisoned ravenminder locked in shackles in a high tower that had solely the job to write and gather messages that the ravens traveled to her with.
She travels to Lordach kingdom with other prisoners who are to be turned to soldiers and fight a big war with darksouls, dark creatures and a powerful Acolyte (ruler of the shadows). Ezer is the new ravenminder in this new realm but later finds herself switching to raphonminder after a little incident with a captured young raphon who bonded with her instantly.
Ezer meets several characters such as Kinlear, twin brother of Arawn, who is strong headed, stubborn and pushes her to breaking nerves. But there is also a bit of banter between them in a hate/love tug-of-war. She is deeply attracted to Arawn for him being there for her, helping her with anything she needs and making her taking fighting lessons so she can defend herself. A lot of sparring here.
She bonds with the Raphon (named Six) and they both share similarities family wise, surviving huge trauma and feeling alone in a world that feels not right to them.
It’s a beautiful story between these two and Ezer has the mission to prepare Six to infiltrate the dark lands and infiltrate the Acolytes layer to kill him and finish this war. But has she continues this training journey, she has dreams that feel so real, she hears whispers in the wind cautioning her to every danger at each corner, saving her, and she finds secrets that the princes hold against her. She learns more about her past and who her family really were (lots of plot here) and she struggles with the religious belief of five gods, punishments and the whole ordeal with the Sacred (people blessed with power in return for a high price to pay).

The book started to be a bit predictable for me after 60% but totally surprised me at the last 10%. My gut feeling about each character was right off the bat. Just the last part kind of took a turn a didn’t expect.

Thank you for this fun read!!!

“Do it in spite of fear, he said to her. Do it afraid. All of it. Every moment in life. That’s how you beat fear. You do it all afraid, and suddenly, it isn’t so scary anymore.”

This is Romantasy done right! I was gripped from the first page and couldn't get enough of the world, characters and magical beasts!

When we meet our FMC in the beginning of the book she is a Raven Minder for Rendegard against her own will. She is suffering from prophetic dreams of her own death and a strange magic she has yet to understand. Her character development throughout the book is one of my favorites to date. She goes from being an unnoticeable and scarred girl to one who faces her greatest fears and learns to fly. She is sent on an adventure with two twin princes in Lordach and has her heart pulled in every direction. One twin a soon to be king and the other has a mission against the darkness and they are complete opposites in the best way. You will find yourself rooting for one for a few chapters and then completely swooning over the other one in the next never quite making up your mind who she should end up with. One of my favorite aspects of this book is the Raphons and Ezer’s relationship with Six. I am a huge animal lover so to see the compassion that Ezer holds for six made my heart absolutely melt and the concept of Raphons was so incredibly cool!

The setting of this book feels layered with the cruelty of war and a magic system that is tied to ancient Gods. You can almost feel the chill in the air when she describes the settings in Lordach and the Sawtooth Mountains There is this constant battle between light and dark but you aren't sure which side are the ones you can trust. This whole concept just felt new and fresh to me making yourself question which side you would choose. I saw some people saying that there wasn't enough answered in terms of her magic but I felt like this book really sets you up for more to come and that resolutions were meant to be deferred.

I reccomend this book to anyone who prefers fast moving plots, strong female leads and mythical beasts. This book feels familiar in the best way and raises the bar for any romatasys I read in the future. There’s so much more I could say about this phenomenal book but I don’t want to spoil things for you. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up when it drops!

⭐️ Ravenminder Book Review ⭐️

Book: Ravenminder
Author: Lindsay Cummings
UK Release Date: 23rd October 2025
Genre: Fantasy Romance

I was so excited to receive my first ARC, and Ravenminder did not disappoint. I was hooked from the very first chapter.

The story follows Ezer, a Ravenminder, who must leave the Raven Tower she has called home for years to serve in the Citadel of Lordach. Along the way, she meets twin princes—each with their own unique charm. One is the brooding, warrior type; the other, an intellectual with an air of mystery. I loved how Lindsay developed the dynamics between these three central characters—there’s banter, yearning, and plenty of tension.

Ezer’s character development is particularly compelling. She begins as a fragile, scarred young woman, haunted by her “strangeties” and dreams. Over time, she learns to question everything—prophecies, magic, even the gods themselves. With the bond she shares with her Raphon, Six, Ezer transforms into a strong, independent, and fierce heroine, determined to protect those she loves.

The world-building is dark, quirky, and refreshingly unique. With gods, prophecies, whispering winds, speaking stones, and deadly beasts, the setting comes alive through vivid, descriptive writing. I could easily picture every detail.

The pacing was consistent and kept me turning pages late into the night. The plot is full of twists and turns, and that ending will leave everyone desperate for the next installment. Lindsay Cummings definitely knows how to make her readers suffer—in the best way possible!

Do I recommend this book? … OH, YEAH!! Pre-order it now—release date: 23rd October 2025.

Hidden magic,
Forbidden love.

I loved this story. While some elements feel familiar, it also offers a few refreshing twists I hadn’t seen before, like a female main character who’s genuinely afraid, who cries, and whose first instinct when facing death isn’t to grab a sword, but to run. That vulnerability felt real and new.

The religious aspect built around the Five Gods was fascinating, and the structure of the story is brilliantly thought out. The author scatters little pieces of the puzzle throughout, leading to a powerful and satisfying ending.

The bond between the main character and her animal companion completely stole my heart. 🐾

The pacing felt a bit slow at times, mostly because of the heavy worldbuilding, but honestly, it made sense. The author took the time to set the foundations of a complex world, and I’m sure the next book will pick up the pace now that everything’s established.

I really wish there had been a map, both of the world and of the Citadel. I love knowing exactly where everything is! I did read an ARC, though, - thank you to the author for that! - so maybe the final version will include one (fingers crossed)!

The male main characters are beautifully written, and the relationships between them and the FMC are layered and believable. I especially loved how I was subtly led to distrust one of them… very clever writing.

I literally can’t wait for the next book!!
