I wanted to destroy the Bratva’s ruthless boss…instead, he’s forcing me to be his wife. He’s a decade older than me, with the kind of power that makes people disappear. I pretended to be on his side so I could get close enough to strike. But he kidnapped me—and now I’m trapped in his world with no way out.
I thought I could handle a man like Alexei Sharov. But he drags me from my life and locks me inside his mansion. He takes away my freedom, my weapons, my chance to fight back. And yet my body betrays me whenever he’s near.
He wants to own me, break me, bend me until I’m his completely. He punishes me when I resist, then pulls me close when I’m weak. He’s the enemy I swore to destroy, but he’s also the fire I can’t put out. Now I’m torn between revenge…and surrendering to his cruel touch.
Will I burn his empire to the ground—or let him claim me forever?
The Sharov Bratva rule New York with an iron fist. These mobsters ooze sex appeal and danger, claiming what they want, when they want it. If that happens to be you… prepare yourself to be claimed, pleasured and captivated by alpha males that don’t take no for an answer.
Maree Fox enjoys nothing more than bringing complex characters to life, heroes and heroines who are faced with unthinkable challenges on the road to love. While they might be ruthless, dominating, and even cruel at times, all her characters are driven by the desire for profound love.
Born and raised in Chicago, Maree has always been fascinated by the myths and mysteries surrounding the revered mafia. After indulging herself as a reader for many years, she finally pursued her dreams to share her own stories. She sets her imagination free to explore the dark and dangerous underground, where ruthless men rule and claim what they want.
She shares an uncomplicated life (unlike her characters) with her life partner, whose love is as profound as his talent for cooking. When she’s not savoring his latest creation or losing herself in a story, Maree enjoys taking her two dogs, Sonny and Cher, to explore hiking trails while dreaming up her next plot.
Much better book than the standard Bratva offerings. Almost every other book I have read, by every other author is some version of kidnapping a female, usually a virgin (sister, daughter, or sometimes female friend-mistaken identity), and forcing them into marriage. The kidnapped female always falls for the person who has taken them, very early on, and in the end unites the warring families through marriage.
This was a delightful spin on the usually tired messaging. Worth the read.
