Don't Fall For The Billionaire

Rate this book
A steamy, heart-tugging single dad/nanny romance in the big city, where crisp autumn days, pumpkin-spiced nights, and stolen glances are only the beginning of a love that burns hotter than fall’s brightest leaves.

Taking the nanny job was supposed to be a temporary arrangement for me.

I needed money, not a full-blown life detour, with no prior qualifications, and definitely not a brooding billionaire with a too-serious stare and a daughter who hadn’t smiled in months.

But Ashton Cross isn’t what I expected.

Yes, he’s powerful. Intimidating. Frustrating.

He watches me like he’s starving. He touches me like he’s forgotten how. And I’m falling fast for a man who’s everything I swore I’d stay away from.

And me?

I’m just a girl who loves the fall season to the fullest, dreams of opening a pie shop, and has no business catching feelings for my boss—especially one who despises all things relationships and romance.

Now I’m not just baking pies in someone else’s kitchen—I’m falling in love in someone else’s home.

And the scariest part?

It’s starting to feel like mine.

Seriously trashy

2.5 stars rounded up
This read like a trashy telenovela. If you're looking for a good plot and character development, then you won't find it here. It was cliché after cliché, but I managed to get to the end without DNFing, so that's something I guess.

When I’m being completely honest, it was giving Wattpad Fanfic. And if I had read it on Wattpad I would’ve probably enjoyed it a lot more. Some of the conversations were pointless and I didn’t really grew fond of her writing style. It gave me trying to write a book on wattpad when I was 13.

But the idea was good and I loved the daughter. Some things just didn’t need to happen to be honest. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t fun. Would recommend if you don’t mind the fanfic fast paced writing style. I grew out of it but I think if I had been a pre teen in my wattpad era, I would’ve ate it up

There were some moments in this book that I really enjoyed, and I really loved the fall aspect of it. I will say that the writing was hard to enjoy. It was very low level, the storyline didn’t really follow a timeline that made sense. The characters were often times not likable.

The MMC had almost zero redeeming qualities, I could not get behind him at all. He was not only horrible to his daughter, but to the FMC. The FMC was also hard to like, if you made her dizzy and incapable of making rational choices, but is also a “girl boss” it just doesn’t add up. Really the only redeeming aspect of this book was Eloise, and the fall atmosphere.

DNF

Not the best writing out there. It lacks strong and nuanced descriptions of everything—characters, their emotions, expressions, thought, places and whatever else you can think of. The writing is basically just a statement of something that a character did.

“She went to [her father] and hugged him” could have been, “Squealing in unrestrained joy, she jumped up from her seat and hugged her father as hard as her tiny arms could.” Or something like that.

I made it to 15% and gave up because it felt like I was reading a middle school writing assignment (I am a former middle school English teacher).

I love autumn and I love romance novels, but this is 100% lacking on all parts. If you’re familiar with cliff notes, you can understand that it felt like the summary of a bad novel! The story line completely lacked and there was absolutely no character development

If you really want to get into the fall season, this was a good one to put you in the mood. Unfortunately I happened to start this story during a heatwave so I wasn’t feeling very fall-y when I started this book. It was a theme that kept up throughout the book, start to finish and within 2 years. I thought it would be different based on other Sandi Lynn books I’ve read but it was cute, wholesome and an enjoyable read. I think the other books I read by her had a little bit more smut and felt more sensual. This one was all about family values, finding love in strange circumstances and a journey all its own. Based on the description, I thought Ashton would be more open to finding love and starting a relationship. I thought he would be different upon reading the first few chapters because he was dating and being social. I didn’t think he would have all these issues and be this negative person who chooses himself more than his daughter. This becomes apparent as you go through the beginning of the book. At first I understood but then it started happening more frequently so I had a harder time reading it when all of the single father books I’ve read were putting their kids first. I didn’t like it, but at the same time it was nice reading a different take on the single dad. Charlotte’s story started off interesting but then seemingly goes south when her boyfriend at the time stomped all over her love for fall, which seems ridiculous at the time because he didn’t need to be a dick about it. At the same time, I think the fall vibes should have calmed down a notch instead of being this huge thing. I understand someone loving a season and making themes out of it but to have this much passion had me scratching my head a bit. Also, the untraditional way Charlotte got the nanny job was different but I didn’t hate the way Sandi went about it. She made it seem like a fate thing which was a fun take. In terms of the way Ashton and Charlotte get together, I felt like it was missing the passion and intensity factor. Instead, it went in the tender and gentle direction. I would have wanted more yearning and emotions with it, plus more hair pulling and desire. Sandi decided to pull at the heartstrings with this one from a meet cute perspective and feature a damaged hero based on the examples he had with his parents growing up, enough that it had him view love in a negative way. Even though Ashton was bitter and it takes you a while to like him, you still couldn’t help but wish Ashton would find love and someone who shatters his perspective on it, and you see that with Charlotte. It didn’t blow me away, but I enjoyed it for what it was and it did keep me interested but if it had an ounce of more passion and intensity, this could have been a 5 for me.

Laughable

This was a good story. Charlotte had spunk, smarts, sense of humor, and kindness. She was a good match for Ashton, grumpy, closed off and hurt, but even with that he managed to find love in his heart when he thinks he needs to end things and she goes off on him, yea good for her. After they become civil again he and Charlotte come back from the festival and walk in the house to find his mom and dad (who are divorced and with other people) getting busy on his couch, woo-hoo, too funny. of course he had to replace that couch. After that scarring incident he talks with Charlotte and admits that he lets himself get in his way, and pulls it together, asked the woman to marry him, she said yes then enter Carlos the wedding planner. I loved Carlos at the bridal shop with Charlotte. I laughed hard on his comments. He was a hoot!

Yes they get married, have a baby and all that, the usual stuff.

I feel slightly crazy giving this book five stars but I loved every second of it, it was just what I needed and it made me so happy!

Charlotte was so sassy, but unlike some other FMCs by Sandi Lynn she didn’t annoy me or come across as too intense. I loved how she loved autumn and how she wasn’t afraid to put people in their place. Her relationship with Eloise was sweet.

Ashton was very unlikeable to begin with but he changed a lot throughout the book and I feel in love with him just like Charlotte.

Overall, a sweet, cozy read that was just fun and enjoyable.

Beautifully Written and Perfectly Paced

I’ve been following Sandi Lynn since her very first book, and I was so excited to dive into Don’t Fall for the Millionaire. This book wasn’t just another amazing story from Sandi—it felt like she truly took her time and poured her heart into it. Normally, she releases books every 1–2 months, and while I missed having a new one sooner, the wait made this story even more special.

The pacing was perfect—I didn’t feel rushed, and the ending didn’t feel like it jumped too quickly. Everything flowed beautifully, and I could tell Sandi gave this book her all. I really enjoyed every moment of it, and it reminded me why I’ve loved following her work from the very beginning. I can’t wait to read her next book!

Heart warming

Omg this is such a beautiful heart warming story. It was a beautiful way how Ashton and Charlotte met and it was through Charlotte throwing a cupcake.

It was so sweet how Eloise took to Charlotte so quick which results in Charlotte becoming her nanny. I just loved how Charlotte conducted herself with Kitty Connors and exposing her for what she really is.

I got to say I loved the love hate relationship with his parents and especially with what happened later in the book. I loved this story from start to finish of course it has its ups and downs like all relationships. I would love to see a book for all seasons. Sandi has yet again given us all another fabulous book.

Uf, I did not like this man. He was decent in the end but he had a lot of stuff that I did not like. I kept reading expecting that at 50% he was gonna redeem himself.
1. He was not a good dad at the start, I’m glad so many people called him out, but the I must admit that later he took time to be their for her. He did love her but he did not show it enough.
2. He broke off things with Charlotte and did not explain to her why.
3. He did not like when Charlotte moved on and pursued HER DREAMS, like what? He got so mad and for what?
I like my fictional grumpy men but this man was not it.
Charlotte was a sweetheart she had so many passions in life, wanted to succeed, and she did!

Perfect. Absolutely perfect in every way!!! Not only are both characters flawed in ways but they also compliment each other. Charlotte is so kind and quirky and fun. Yet, she's also super mature and recognizes hurt in others. She doesn't allow herself to be treated terribly and will walk away from a situation. I love her. She was exactly what Ashton needed. He was so broken and cold from how his parents treated him and each other. He was hurting not only himself but his daughter. Charlotte blew in and changed everything. I love how Charlotte fought for Eloise just as fiercely as she scolded Ashton for his actions. Love this fall read and it's my favorite so far!!!

Don’t Fall For The Billionaire

Wow! What happens when you’re trying to start your own business, but suddenly you find yourself without a job. Now trying to find another job, so you can attempt to start your business. This story is about finding your passion, helping others realize that just because you have money it won’t make you happy. Two people who are total opposite, run into each other, inadvertently. She loves being a nanny to his daughter, but dad needs some parenting help. Great story.

What a brilliant read, all ready for the season.
Sandi's books have you gripped from the start.
Loved Charlotte and Ashton story, after having  lost her job, Charlotte ends up meeting Ashton through throwing a cupcake and hitting him.  Ashton demanded that she bring him money to pay for his dry cleaning,  what they both did not realise is that Charlotte would end up becoming  his nanny for his daughter.  This story was a feel-good read and kept you reading.  I would love to see more 😍

If you are in love with all things Fall and Autumn, this one’s for you. A jaded (actually scared) billionaire and his new nanny. Sweetest little daughter, also.
It’s kind of silly but sweetly romantic. Charlotte helps Ashton see that life is more than big business deals and that his daughter, Eloise, wants his time and attention more than things.
Silly parents, Ashton has. Ridiculous.
Cute and quick read.

Fall Season

I loved this story with Ashton and Charolette, this may sound funny, but the story was hilarious, with personality. Ashton a multi billionaire CEO of a real estate company born into wealth. Charolette just a regular woman with a love for Fall Season and an excellent pie baker with a dream to open a Pie Shop like her and her late mother dreamed of. No more spoilers happy reading. Good feel good story.

DNF at 30%. It felt like a teenager wrote this. There was absolutely no flow and the conversations were terrible. The spicy scene I finally got to had absolutely no build up and was like two paragraphs long. Do these characters even like each other? Who knows because they barely talk to each other. And what father would just trust his daughter with some random stranger he met that day at a park so he could go out and have a social life? Ridiculous in every aspect.

Heart warming

Another fantastic read from a fabulous author.
This book follows the lives of 3 main characters who come together to create a loving supportive family but at the same time standing up for themselves.
Where dreams become reality.
Highly recommend this book and others by this fantastic author.

Another great escape between the pages into a very warm and tender story, of a little girl craving her DA’s affection, a billionaire, reluctantly being a father to an eight year old, and a young woman with a pipe dream who throws a temper tantrum, when Lady Luck is against her, and catches a new life. A great read . A great escape from reality, and a lovely contented feeling at the end.

Perfect!!

I loved Charlotte and Ashton!! Charlotte was having a bad day when she met Ashton. She had bad luck with men and she just lost her job and her dream of opening up a pie shop. Ashton needed a nanny bad his social life back. He offered Charlotte b the job when he saw how great she was with his daughter.

She Fell For the Billionaire

I love a story when the female has a strong personality. Charlotte surely does as well as a big heart. Ashton, Mr businessman, has met his match in his new nanny. Add sweet Eloise to the mix and you have a special love story. Sandy Lynn does it again!

I’m not wowed. I didn’t fall in love with either of the characters. The writing was not great either. There was no transitions, it felt incredibly choppy. One second we’re at the school dropping off the kid, the next we’re talking to a bank teller. I definitely got whiplash and wanted to DNF this book, but seeing as I can’t bring myself to do that, I finished it.

Loved as always

This story was fun. Not only Sandi nailed it with Fall, my favorite season she made the female role have a strong backbone, funny and very loving. The male role was funny and a sexy guy who loves his daughter. Great fun loving story.
