Amber Kelly is back and in her cowgirl era 👏

Oooh I’m so excited for this series.
A ranch in Wyoming.
The Storm sisters I feel are about to be a wild ride.

Maitland Storm 🤠
Oldest sister.
Runs the family ranch.
Strong. Determined. Loyal.

“Matty Storm looks like the kind of trouble I’d thank God for letting me walk into.”

Caison🔥
Comes to manage neighboring ranch
Smart. Hot cowboy.
Gave Labrador vibes.
Also determined.

“Caison Galloway is trouble, wrapped in a sharp jaw and a smooth voice.”

Enemies to lovers situation
Grief on both sides

I love how down to earth Amber Kelly’s stories are.
They’re the perfect combination of sweet and engaging plot.

I read this book over 2 days and just could not put it down. Loved the main character years - Matty is such a strong FMC and Caison meets his match with her. Love the dynamic between them and balance between business and personal plays out so well. I love the family dynamics and the banter between the sisters - so heartwarming yet real.

This story is just gorgeous - I loved every page. Cowboys, business rivals, struggling ranch, new start, overcoming heartache and grief, angst and drama - what’s not to love.

If this is the start of a new series then I can not wait to see what other stories come for the Storm sisters.

Matty & Caison

First and foremost, I love Amber Kelly’s books, her writing, characters and flow. But now she’s in her cowboy era and can I just say, I’ve become even more obsessed.

Maitland is stubborn, hard headed, strong and fiercely loyal to her family and everything they stand for. She’s trying to look after everybody and everything but herself. She’s struggling but doesn’t let on that she is. She’s put her whole life on hold without even realising it.

Caison is tall, dark and handsome. He’s smart and determined but he works for Ironhorse, the people trying to poach Matty’s land that’s been in her family for generations.

These two had chemistry like no other. They are drawn to each other from their first meeting and the tension only built throughout the story.

I completely adored this book. I enjoyed the characters and loved seeing Matty relax and be soft for Caison. You could tell that when he was around she felt safe to switch off and just enjoy the moment and for a girl like her, that is hard.

Caison even though he’s trying to secure a deal quickly mixes business with personal relationships. Every time it comes to the business side, he thinks about how it would affect Matty and her family and tries to be fair. He’s so considerate of her in every aspect.

Matty and Caison’s journey absolutely drew me in. I found it hard to put this book down and I didn’t want it to end to the point where I put off reading the epilogue for some days.

Also, I totally loved the dancing scene and when she finally gives in to Caison and their chemistry.

Awaiting The Storm is a captivating and emotionally satisfying read. Tears were shed and smiles were had. It’s a brilliant book to start a new series with. A series I will absolutely binge.

Amber Kelly never fails to deliver with her books. Whenever I pick one up I know I’ll get a good plot, good character development, heart tugging scenes and a romance story I can devour.

Highly recommend. All. The. Time.

I really liked the introspective tone and the focus on healing and emotional recover. Both MC's felt genuinely wounded and their slow, tentative connection made sense given what they’d been through. The writing did a great job capturing grief and vulnerability and I liked that the romance unfolded gently rather than relying on manufactured drama. That said, the pacing occasionally felt a bit too subdued for me, especially in the middle where the story lingered in internal monologue longer than necessary and I wanted a little more external conflict. The chemistry was solid but sometimes understated which left me wanting slightly higher emotional payoff. Overall, it’s a thoughtful, character driven romance that I enjoyed, even if it didn’t quite hit the emotional highs needed to push it into 4 star territory.

This is the first in a new series, and this is Matty and Caison’s story.
Matty is strong, stubborn, independent, and sassy, and carries the burden on her shoulders of running the family, ranch since her mom passed, and keeping her family together. Caison is the new manager of a neighbouring ranch, and he certainly knows how to push Matty’s buttons.
This is a well written story, which has family, friendships, emotions, loss, angst, enemies / lovers, close proximity, family, legacy, humour, witty banter, shenanigans, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, small-town romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This is a heart-stirring romance set in the small town of Wildhaven, Wyoming with a FMC who’s determined, stubborn, gorgeous, but soft on the inside and she’s now one of my favorite characters from any small town romance. And Caison (Case) Galloway? Talk about swoon-worthy. Whew!!! And he just can’t help his immediate attraction to Maitland (Matty) Storm.

Prepare yourselves for the Storm sisters who take no sh*t from anyone, especially the eldest sister, Matty, Ranch Manager of her family’s Wildhaven Storm Ranch. They are fiercely loyal to each other and their family. There’s Charli. She’s the sensitive one, hides it with sarcasm, and has a special way with horses. Shelby is feisty, sharp-tongued and has done everything from barrel racing to trick riding. And youngest sister Harleigh, the dreamer of the family, is off at college right now, the only sister not working the ranch. When they’re all together, watch out! It’s delicious trouble.

Case has come home. Having recently lost his father, he’s been hired as the Ranch Manager of neighboring Ironhorse Ranch. What he didn’t expect was to fall for the woman he’s trying to make a land deal with.

“I didn’t expect this. Didn’t expect to feel this much. This early. This fast. But Matty Storm is just that. A storm brewing and ready to level everything in sight.” - Caison Galloway

Case wants to make this land deal, convince Matty it’s good for her and the failing ranch, make the man who’s like a second father to him proud, but he’s becoming more and more intrigued with Matty Stone and even a bit protective of her. He knows her father loves her, her grandparents as well, but they also rely on her a lot. Who does she rely on? And does he want to be that person? But mixing business with his personal life isn’t a good move. This he knows.

Did I mention Matty Storm is stubborn? Is she ever. And very protective of her family’s legacy. Case is causing her to feel things that she’s not prepared for. She was hurt badly by her EX and isn’t sure she’s ready to open up to a man again. Or trust one. But Case is just . . . Everything.

This story is an enemies to lovers small town romance and there’s plenty of drama, including a jealous EX returning to the ranch and causing trouble, a land deal with some details not initially disclosed that wind up tearing Matty and Case apart, but the Storm sisters intervene, in a big way, and yes, we finally get to that well deserved HEA.

I’m already looking forward to the next book and more Storm family drama, fun, and love.

This book was absolutely incredible! The writing pulled me in right from the start, the plot kept me hooked the entire time, and the characters were so well-developed that I felt every moment with them.

Matty completely stole my heart. From a young age, she gave up her own dreams after her mother’s death, helped raise her sisters, and eventually took on the enormous responsibility of running the family ranch. She’s tough and admirable, but also quietly carrying the crushing weight of being everyone’s rock. I found myself aching for her, wanting her to finally have someone to lean on.

Caison’s story was very different. As a successful businessman brought in to manage the neighboring ranch, his life seemed easier on the surface. But the real twist? His new role meant he was hired to try and take over a part of Matty’s land—the same land her family had protected for generations. No wonder she didn’t trust him. At first, she tried to keep her distance, but his persistence, determination, and ability to see through her walls made it impossible for her to keep ignoring him. He looked out for her, was always thinking of ways to make her life a little easier, and was absolutely head over heels for her—and never afraid to show it.

The chemistry between them was electric—raw, emotional, and impossible to resist. While this isn’t a full-on spicy book, the few intimate scenes they shared absolutely proved just how powerful their connection was. I devoured every page.

And can we talk about Matty’s sisters? They were amazing! Each one had such a distinct personality, but the love and loyalty between them made them an unstoppable force. I’m already counting down the days until I can read their stories too.

If you’re craving a romance with a gripping plot, layered characters, heartfelt family dynamics, and a romance that will tug hard at your emotions, Awaiting the Storm is one you don’t want to miss!

Thank you so much to Amber and WordSmith Publicity for a copy of this amazing ARC!

•Caison & Maitland
Wildhaven book 1

This was my first book from @authoramberkelly and will most definitely not be my last because she's got me HOOKED on these Storm sisters!

Maitland "Matty" Storm is the eldest of 4 sisters, and since her mother unexpectedly passed away a few years ago, she has stepped up in helping run her family's ranch, Wildhaven Storm, and being the role model her sister's deserve. The past few years have not been kind to the ranch, & the Storm's are finding themselves severely struggling to make ends meet. Matty's dedicated her whole life to the ranch, & is determined to maintain her family's legacy.

In comes Caison Galloway. Growing up just an hour away from Wildhaven, he's familiar with ranch life. He spent the last few years earning his degree and establishing his career in the city, but now Caison is back working for a family friend. When he's tasked with helping his boss acquire neighboring land, he never expected to be going head to head with Maitland Storm. Especially because he's never experienced chemistry with another woman like he has her. It's clear Matty loves the ranch, and Caison's role in potentially having to give up some of that land will only be seen as a betrayal. Caison's ready to show Matty she's met her match, and coming to a compromise about the land could result in a win for all parties involved. The more time they spend together, it's evident that their mutual feelings can no longer be ignored. Now, not only are businesses and careers at stake...their hearts are right in the middle of the mess...

Caison & Matty's story was the perfect introduction to this new series! These characters had me HOOKED in the first few pages! I admired Matty for being such a strong and independent FMC who held the loyalty she has to her family and the ranch so close to her heart. She was feisty and brave, & Case was the perfect compliment who met her halfway. These Storm sister's were so fun to get to know, and now I'm invested in getting the rest of their stories! I can't wait to return to Wildhaven soon!

4.2?! a high 4. ❤️

I laughed, I cried, I loved it.

Maitland & Caison swooooon cheeky, everything he said practically, smart HOT. 🥰🥰🥰

And for the first time in years, I forget how to breathe.

It’s like every inch of her is pulling me under, and I’m a man willing to drown in her.

“Yeah. You got a minute?” I ask. “For you? Always,” he says softly.

The moment of forgiveness

I would have sat and devoured this if I could, perfect little cowgirl book and the Storm sisters are a blast. The entire family are wonderful, i cannot wait to read the rest.

I will be reading more of Amber Kelly!

"there’s a wall behind those sharp eyes. A wall I’ll happily run into head-on"

The land is impeccably manicured. Too much so. Too shiny. Holland keeps his ranch like he’s prepping it for a magazine shoot, but there’s no soul in it. No grit. Just gloss. The exact opposite of what I saw at Wildhaven Storm.

“Oh, honey, I may be old, but I’m not blind. And believe me, the way that man was looking at you, he’s interested in way more than money can buy,”

Hope is a strange thing; it burns bright, and it doesn’t quit.

Matty Storm looks like the kind of trouble I’d thank God for letting me walk into.

“Not used to women who can drink you under the table?” “I think I’m not used to women like you at all.”

“And when something’s real, it’s fragile. Fake can stand a lot. It can handle being tossed around and neglected now and then. But you don’t get many chances to screw up real.”

“We haven’t come this far to come this far.

I fell in love when I wasn’t paying attention.

oohhh how I devoured this book!
This small town country world and these loveable and relatable characters pulled me in from the very start and held on tight until the very end.

Let's talk main characters....
Our heroine - Maitland Storm.. yes, yes and yes! God I loved her. She's stubborn, strong, determined and protective of her family and their struggling ranch. Between her backstory and her current situation, my heart ached for her. Plus... I found myself rooting for her... For a positive outcome and of course a HEA.
Our hero - Caison Galloway.. you sir a heart stealing gentleman. I loved everything about this man. He's loyal and loving and the relationship he has with his mother was so beautiful. I adored the way from the beginning he considered Maitland's feelings. Yes he was there to do a job (one that Maitland was not happy about), but he was always so considerate and caring towards her.
Chemistry - Holy perfection... The pull was instant and I couldn't have loved the dynamic between them more. We got a little enemies, a little friends and then after a little angst some love.
Together they balance each other perfectly.
I'm loving the side characters we met and I hope to get more of them in the future. In particular, her sisters who offered some wonderful banter and funny moments.

This story had so many things I love... small town, cowboys, drama, angst, tension, swoon-worthy moments, emotion, family, humour, love and of course a little spice.

Can't wait for Book 2!

Matty loves her family and is dedicated to their ranch and the lives they have built. Being the ranch manager means the livelihood of the ranch lies on her shoulders, and sometimes it's too much, but she'd never admit it. The he happens. The neighboring ranch manager with all his swoony good looks and fancy ideas... ideas she wants know part of.

Awaiting the Storm is a wonderfully penned small town romance that comes brimming with all the small town charm you can handle. With it's inviting atmosphere and characters that feel like they could be dear friends or family this story drew me in and had me never wanting to leave. As we meet our heroine we learn that her life is quite busy, busy enough that dating is completely out of the question. But then Carson comes riding into her world, with his bright ideas, and an instant dislike settles in. Matty has been taking care of her families ranch and doesn't need any help or have the willingness to listen to whatever he is proposing... even if he is easy on the eyes! They battle at every turn, with their distaste growing every step of the way, and the sparks too!

I really enjoyed this one, it's pages kept me entertained the whole way through and it's characters completely stole my heart! Highly recommend!!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

This is the first book in a brand new series! It's set in Wildhaven,  Wyoming.  We meet Maitland ( Mattie),  and her family.  She's the oldest of 4 girls and runs the family  Ranch. Wildhaven  Storm Ranch.  Mattie takes one all the stree of the Ranch and all it is going through.

Caison comes to town to take a job from his dad's best friend, at hisRanch,  the Ironhorse. He's still grieving with losing his dad. He meets Mattie and feels something more then the business  he needs to go into with her. Mattie feels something as well, but with so much hurt she is afraid to even touch her feelings for Caison.

Mattie and Caison can't deny their connection,  she opens to him about her loss of her mom, her shouldering all the responsibility of her family's Ranch  as well.  Caison only wants to do the right thing,  and still get what both his job and Mattie's family deserve.  What will happen when Mattie's ex comes back and she's too stubborn to listen to  Caison's side. Her whole family's spoken to him, can she let him in after she felt betrayed?

This book was a great introduction for the new series.  We got a lot of character growth  on all the sisters.  I would have loved just a little more of Mattie and Caison.  These sisters are a blast. I'm looking forward to more in this series.

Talk about a fantastic start to a new series by the talented Ms. Kelly. Whenever I see a new book, let alone a new series, coming out, I know that each book is going to be one where my emotions will be all over the place. The FMC is going to be a strong yet relatable character with a couple of flaws that make her lovable. The MMC is going to be a sexy and caring man who wins over your heart. Awaiting the Storm is just that book. Right from the start, I was hooked by the strong female characters and the brilliantly written storyline.
Ms. Kelly tells us the story of Maitland Storm, a strong, determined cowgirl who has taken on every aspect of running her family's ranch. She has a hard time delegating to family members and things are not going well. In walks Caison Galloway, a man who looks more like a suit city man than a cowboy or rancher. Her family needs money to keep the ranch running and he has the means to help but there is a cost. Selling a part of the family acreage. The angst between them is strong but is it really a love-to-hate or a hate-to-love relationship, or even a form of foreplay? The two of them have a chemistry that her sisters can see right from the start and they do everything they can to push the two of them together.
I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting. I'm eager for the next installment in this series.

I'm in love with the Wildhaven series and with the Storm sisters. Once again Amber Kelly made me fall in love with a small town and a big family on a ranch. And I'm officially in my cowboy era . And Maitland Storm is strong and smart, and sassy and carries the world on her shoulders . She's been too strong too long and can't bear one more betrayal or tragedy. And she needs a miracle to keep their ranch running. And she's so stubborn. But she has her family to watch over her when she's not. And you'll want sisters like hers in your life. And Caison is so different from everyone she knows and she's so attracted to him . Too bad he works for a neighboring ranch and he gives her a way out of her troubles. And when business and personal life blur the lines it's inevitable to mess it up . And it's for sure that a vengeful ex isn't as helpful as he means to look. But thanks for family that helps with patience and advice. And sisters to mess with your love life. Yeah, the Storm sisters are hilarious like that. I laughed out loud at their shenanigans, hurt a little with Matty and rooted for Caison from the start. Awaiting the Storm is so good that you're going to take sides while waiting to see how everything will unfold at the end.

Thanks to the author and WordSmith Publicity for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book.

I was excited to receive an ARC of this sweet story! After months of reading dark romance, it was a breath of fresh air to jump right into this swoon-worthy cowboy romance!

Meet Maitland, the strong FMC who has taken over her family ranch and has no life outside of it. She is fierce, dedicated and extremely protective of her family’s land and heritage. Along comes Caison, the tall, dark and handsome businessman/cowboy who starts working for a neighbouring ranch that wants to buy land from Maitland’s family to expand their operations. Matty’s ranch is in financial trouble, and she is faced with the difficult decision of whether to sell the land and give the ranch financial stability or try to preserve her family’s heritage and risk losing it all, while risking losing her heart in the process.

This book was exceptionally written, and I enjoyed every minute! I normally don’t get into slow burn romances, but it was impossible not to fall for the tall, sexy, sweet, smart cowboy right from the start and I found myself intrigued and had to follow through to the end! Each one of the characters were very likeable, even the ones who you might think didn’t have the best intentions in the story. I gave this book 4 stars because it was a really good story, but I need a little more spice!

“Now she’s the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning and the last voice I want to hear before I go to sleep at night. I fell in love when I wasn’t paying attention.”

‘I arch my back, biting down on my lip to hold back a cry. “Case, please,” I wimper. Not knowing what exactly I’m asking for. “Give me your eyes,” he demands, and I snap my gaze to his. I can feel the steely length of him as I writhe against his fingers. “Come on my hand, cowgirl,” he demands.

“Matty Storm looks like the kind of trouble I’d thank God for letting me walk into.”

There are 4 Storm girls, Maitland Storm (Matty) is the oldest and they all live and work at Wildhaven Ranch. A few years ago there mom passed away, and ever since Matt works day and night trying to keep the ranch afloat with her dad, and grandparents. The sisters all work their share also, but, Matty took on the brunt of the work, usually doing 14 hr plus days. Matty was engaged but the first sign of trouble, he took off, and Matty didn't forgive him.

Caison Galloway grew up about 1.5 hrs away up in Jackson Hole, WY. He loves to ride horses, and the ranch life. He went to Texas for college and worked on a few big ranches and brought his knowledge back home to Wyoming. Caison is working for a ranch next to Matty's and the owner wants to see about buying 1,000 acres of land from the Wildhaven Ranch. When Caison goes up to Matty he knows he has some work cut out for him. Matty isn't impressed with suits, and business deals. She's impressed with what you can do on the ranch, on a horse. He sets his sights to get her and this deal done.

Will Matty be able to thaw off her icicles that have been hanging around too long? Will Caison be able to thaw Matty out? Will this help Matty heal from her past heartbreak?

I did receive a free ARC Book copy. I am freely leaving an honest book review.

Awaiting the Storm is the first book in the Wildhaven series. I can't wait to read the rest of this series based on this one. It was an amazingly well-written story.

Matty and her family run the Wildhaven Storm Ranch. It has been in their family for many years. Matty is the ranch manager. She deals with all the day to day stress of running the ranch and works herself to the bone most days. Caison comes into town to work on a neighboring ranch. He decides to go visit the Storm ranch. Upon meeting Matty he is immediately drawn to her. She sees him as the enemy and doesn't care for him. Caison is in charge of trying to get the Storm family to sell off a portion of their ranch. Matty is completely against selling any part of the ranch even though their ranch is desperate for the cash.

I loved Matty and her family. They are very loyal to each other and work together on the ranch. I loved the chemistry between Caison and Matty. They could not deny their connection. This story will make you swoon. A very enjoyable small town romance. Highly recommended.

Reasons you will love this story:
* Small town romance
* Close family
* Enemies to lovers

Thank you to the author for an advanced copy for an honest review.

I adore @authoramberkelly and I am so happy to be back in her world of western/cowboy romances! And Matty (Maitland) and Caison were the perfect couple to start this new series off with!!

I loved Matty! She was such a strong FMC who carried the world on her shoulders for her family. She was determined and so loyal. I loved seeing her determination but also really loved seeing Matty’s soft side especially when she let Caison in.

And speaking of Caison….
I loved our MMC! He came into town working for a family he considered his own but what he didn’t realize is while wanting to negotiate for the neighbors land he would also fall for strong and fierce Matty.

Caison was determined to not only be loyal to the family he worked with but also to Matty as well. There was so much growth between these two as individuals and as a couple. I loved seeing Caison get Matty to open up and show emotions with him. I won’t lie I cried when Matty cried in the book because she was so determined to do what was best for her family that she was carrying all the weight and just needed to find someone to help her take some of that off her shoulders and she did with Caison.

If you want enemies to lovers, small town, cowboy/western ranch vibes this book is for you! Amber always has a of making you fall in love with her small towns and characters

Thank you Amber & Wordsmith for the arc of this book I truly appreciate it and was honored to read Caison and Matty’s story.

Ever since her mom died Maitland has done everything to keep her family’s ranch up and running but lately things have bee tough. Caison Galloway is new in town. Wanting to be closer to his roots and his mom. He’s working for a neighboring ranch and he wants to buy some land from the Storm family. But Maitland is refusing to sell. So he needs to turn up his charm not knowing that there might be more at stake than just a business deal.

Awaiting The Storm is book 1 of The Wildhaven series by Amber Kelly. It’s a standalone in an interconnected series.

Awaiting The Storm was a really nice read. I like that it was - at least for me - slow paced. There wasn’t a lot of drama, no kind of suspense that kept you chewing your nails. It’s a nice small-town, cowboy romance. Maitland not only has a unique name but she’s also quite the character. She’s stubborn and proud but also vulnerable and I loved how she finally learned to rely on other people. Caison is like the dream cowboy. He’s charming, hard working and I really enjoyed seeing the chance from business Caison to falling-in-love-Caison. 😂 I also fell in love with Maitland’s family and I can’t wait for her sisters to get their own stories because those Storm girls for sure are gonna be a lot to handle.

🌻BOOK REVIEW🌻🌻

Awaiting the Storm is the first book in the Wildhaven Series by Amber Kelly. This first book has set the theme about the four Storm sisters from Wildhaven, Wyoming.

Matty Storm (MFC) is the oldest sister and runs the ranch. She is tough, takes care of her sisters since their mother died and has sacrificed her own dreams for others. She is a force of nature.

Caison Galloway (MMC) is the new manager of the neighboring ranch who has been hired to buy land that is owned by Matty’s family. He is smooth, good-looking and Matty does not trust him.

They have a strong attraction for each other and their interactions with one another are compelling. He moves toward each other, and he really wants to protect her. This story has a well of emotions which include grief, how to trust, drama, business rivals and a struggling ranch. This book includes the introduction of the other Storm sisters.

I enjoyed how Amber told Matty and Caison romance journey to love and trust one another. Love the supporting characters.

This was such a fantastic introduction to the Wildhaven series! I am immediately captivated by its small-town charm, and it brought me back to how I felt when I read the Poplar Falls series. That series was so magical to me and Amber Kelly has penned a moving, consuming, heart-flutteringly sexy love story that I absolutely devoured.

I really liked Maitland and Caison right from the start. Despite the initial dislike, particularly from Maitland, their immediate spark and connection was so fun to watch grow and develop. They had chemistry in spades and I swear, the sparks were flying everywhere from the moment they’ve met. Maitland and Caison were the perfect mix of tenderness and passion. I adored the vulnerable moments they shared, and I just loved when they turned up the heat. These two gave me all the feels with their unique and heartwarming love story!

The set-up for this series is already so stellar. I’m already dying for the next book – my curiosity is piqued and my heart is ready to go all-in. This was such a delightful treat, and I’m so excited for more!

Give me a strong and stubborn FMC any day.

Matty Storm is the cornerstone of her family after her mother's death, caring for her sisters and managing the family ranch. Storm is a very apt name for her because she's definitely a force of nature (and her sisters will be, too!). Caison Galloway comes home after his father's death and is the new manager of the neighboring ranch. Cue the business rivalry and trying to take Matty's ranch out from under her.

Was Caison expecting the force of nature that is Matty Storm? Absolutely not. Is any man really ready for the woman that knocks him off his feet? Absolutely not. The chemistry is palpable. Just when I thought it couldn't get any more electric... well you'll see, but it does. Caison and Matty are just so good together. The drama, the romance, the emotion. And yes, the Storm sisters!

I don't think I'll ever be out of my cowboy era.

When her mother passed Matty’s driving force has been to be there for her sisters and to do everything she can to protect their family ranch. That is proving to be more difficult than she imagined however she isn’t about to give up. When Caison moved next door she is torn as she can’t deny the feelings she has for him however he also wants to purchase part of their land for his employer.

Caison is going through a difficult loss, so he has returned to his roots and has been hired as the manager of the ranch neighbor Matty. His boss would like to purchase part of Matty’s ranch however Matty wants no part of it and now he finds himself torn between loyalty to his boss and the escalating feelings he is developing for Matty.

Matty is strong and determined to protect her family’s legacy while Caison realizes all the responsibilities she is carrying is taking their toll and he wants to help. The romance between them is heartwarming however it wasn’t without its turmoil, and the secondary characters only made the story even better.

Amber Kelly's Awaiting the Storm is the perfect introduction to her new Wildhaven series! As a sucker for small-town cowboy romances, I was hooked from the start.

Meet Maitland Storm, the strong-willed and determined oldest sister, who runs the family ranch with grit and heart. Enter Caison Galloway, the new manager of the neighboring ranch, who's tasked with convincing Matty to sell land for a state-of-the-art horse track.

I loved how Caison fell hard for Matty, despite the conflict of interest. His inner turmoil and desire to protect Matty made my heart ache. The journey to their HEA was worth the heartbreak, as they balanced each other perfectly.

Matty finally found someone to share her burdens with, and Caison made her feel safe and secure. Their love story is a must-read for fans of small-town, ranch romances!

Bring on the next Storm sister's adventure!

Caison really surprised me. At first, he came across as all business—stoic, maybe even broody—but underneath that was a man grounded in strong morals and a kind heart. Persistent and genuine, he balanced duty to his ranch with an undeniable pull toward Maitland (Matty).

Matty, on the other hand, has plenty on her plate. After a painful breakup and betrayal, plus the daily grind of keeping her family’s ranch running, she’s built walls she’s determined not to let down. Her fierce loyalty and sense of responsibility felt so relatable. When she’s faced with a proposition that could save the ranch but cost her more than she’s ready to give, her strength and vulnerability really shine.

It took me a little while to settle into this story, but once it clicked, I was all in—emotionally invested and completely rooting for them. Caison and Matty’s journey is tender, slow-building, and deeply emotional. If you love a ranch setting, enemies-to-lovers tension, and even a reverse grumpy x sunshine dynamic, this one’s worth picking up.

As a Wyoming native, I tend to gravitate towards any book that is set in Wyoming. This book did not disappoint. Bonus points that University of Wyo was included...Go Pokes!!

Matty is fiercely protective of her families ranch and has been trying to keep things running since the passing of her mother. She is strong and stubborn and won't just trust anyone. Caison has been just hired as the new manager of the ranch next door. Caison has been tasked to proposition the Storm family to sell some of their land, but he quickly learns that Matty will take more than a fancy offer to win over. Their chemistry is palpable and they can't deny their connection. He falls first and quickly cares for her and wants to do the right thing and still get the job done.

I really enjoyed reading their story and can't wait to start Charli's.

Arc Reading 📖 Amber Kelly has done it again! What an amazing story. I freakin love Caison and Maitland. Can’t wait for more!

Small Town Romance 🥰 Slow burn 🔥 Cowboy 🤠 Cowgirl

Maitland is head strong, loyal and loves her family. Losing her mother young made her grow up fast. Help raise her siblings. She sees all the land her family owns as part of their history. She will do what she has to be keep everything going.

I love Maitland’s sisters. They love to have fun and try getting their sister to do the same. Her sister Charli has some funny one liners.

Caison is sensitive, caring, loving. He fell for before he even realized it. 🥰 He’s not from Wildhaven but has spent time there as a child. “Broad shoulder. Yes please! Wide, muscular chest yes and yes please! Chisels abs and powerful thighs 🔥🔥

Awaiting the Storm is Caison Galloway and Matty Storm’s entertaining and engaging small town romance and its book one in The Wildhaven Series. It’s a well written story that I quickly became invested in and it’s a great start to the new series.
Matty is the oldest Storm sister and she runs her family ranch but every day the ranch is sinking just a little bit more. The bank has refused any more loans and she is struggling to come up with any ideas to save it.
Caison is the new manager of a neighbouring ranch and is desperate to buy 1000 acres from the Storm family. But will Matty swallow her pride and agree to the sale and more importantly what happens when feelings come into play……
This enemies to lovers touched me on so many levels, I smiled, I swooned and I fell hard and fast as I cheered this couple on.

Amber could literally write the phone book and I would read it. She is back in her Cowboy Era and I am living for it!!!

Awaiting the Storm is book 1 in the Wildhaven series set in ranch country Wyoming. There are 4 Storm sisters and this book features oldest sister Maitland "Matty" Storm and Caison Galloway. Matty runs the family struggling ranch and has the world on her shoulders. She is stubborn, loyal to a fault and is trying to be everything to everyone. Caison grew up in the area and is back to manage the neighboring ranch, Ironhorse, after spending years in Texas. He is the smart sexy cowboy who looks just as good in jeans and cowboy boots as he does in a dress shirt.

Matty Storm looks like the kind of trouble I'd thank God for letting me walk into.

They always say don't mix business with pleasure, but Caison has a very hard time not crossing that line. He is drawn to Matty in a way he has never experienced before. Every move ha makes to secure the land Ironhorse wants, he also thinks about how it affects Matty and the Storm Family. The dancing scene between them had me swooning.

Awaiting the Storm captivated me from the very first page. It was emotional, heartwarming and everything I have come to love about Amber's writing. This was an incredible intro to the series and I am salivating for the next sisters book.
