A line that shouldn’t be crossed and a Daddy who can’t turn back…
DAMON
I’ve spent my life in combat zones and have seen the worst of humanity. This mission was supposed to be easy and straightforward—protect the embassy from cartel threats. Instead, I’m stuck babysitting Mackenzi Bradenburg, the ambassador’s bratty daughter.
She’s the real danger. Too young for me, undeniably beautiful, and my son’s ex. If I had any sense left, I’d stay the hell away. Yet, every breath she takes tests my control. She’s everything I shouldn’t want and can’t stop wanting. But I’m falling for her like a fool and putting both of us at risk.
MACKENZI
I’ve been yanked from campus and dumped in a South American embassy “for my own safety,” thanks to my father’s enemies and his obsession with control. Now I’m stuck under 24/7 protection, surrounded by grim-faced men who bark orders like I’m the enemy. Except one of them doesn’t bark. Damon growls. And I like it.
He’s tattooed, brooding, and old enough to be my father. If that’s not bad enough, I’m far too inexperienced for him. I should stay away, but the more he watches me like he owns me, the more I want to misbehave—just to see what he’ll do.
Falling for him is reckless. But calling him Daddy feels so good.

First, a huge thank you to Luna Literary and J.L. Quick for the opportunity to review the ARC of Damon.
If you’re looking for a book packed with a daddy trope, age gap romance, military protector vibes, a bratty FMC, and the delicious complication of falling for your ex’s estranged dad… this one delivers.
Mackenzie is absolutely hilarious. Her inability to keep her thoughts to herself had me laughing throughout the entire book. She brings so much fire and personality to every scene, and her chemistry with Damon is instant and undeniable.
And Damon? Total zaddy. Protective, obsessed, patient, and a phenomenal teacher in more ways than one. Watching these two navigate their relationship was equal parts heartwarming, hilarious, and incredibly hot.
The team banter is always one of my favorite parts of this series, and Mackenzie slides right into the chaos, making every interaction even better.
One quote that really stuck with me:
“And for the first time in my life, I understand how one person can be someone else’s peace.”
And another beautiful moment:
“The mirror becomes a window to a version of myself I never knew existed—a woman who is bold, desired, and unapologetically sexual. A woman who is watching herself being thoroughly and completely loved.”
The spice level? 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Let’s just say there were moments that had me kicking my feet and fanning myself.
This was a quick read—pun absolutely intended—because once I started, I couldn’t put it down. Damon and Mackenzie’s story is sexy, funny, emotional, and completely addictive.
Tropes you’ll love: ✨ Daddy trope ✨ Age gap ✨ Military protector ✨ Ex’s dad ✨ Bratty FMC ✨ Protective/obsessive MMC
A fun, spicy, binge-worthy romance that had me hooked from beginning to end. 📚🔥💕
These men are everything I want from them every time. They are doms but also not mean, caring and understanding, loyal and loving. Damon cared so much about Kenzie from the get go it was the sweetest. I did love how much of a brat tamer he was, what can I say. He appreciated every part of her, her feisty attitude but also, her quiet moments. He was so good. Even with the danger surrounding her, he never once let her down.
Kenzie was actually great. She didn’t act like an immature child, but she had the right to be pissed and a little mean when being ripped from what you know in a whim under no explanation. Her attitude was the best and once she gave into the chemistry with Damon, she grew even more into herself. She needed a little help loving her body, but he was the man there for that.
Now now, when the tropes dropped I was so excited. The angst, the taboo, the forbidden…but I was a little let down. The ex-bf sad thing was just too late in the game in my opinion. If it had been known from the beginning the tension and push-pull would have been immaculate.
And also? Gabe was an asshole when he broke up with her, pushed her boundaries and then said the “because of the frat” bullshit and that was never addressed again? By no one? Really?! I needed a humbling moment on his ass.
I cannot wait for Gunnar to fold like a cheap lawn chair so that everyone in the team can have their well earned HEA.
Thank you so much to, Luna and J.L. Quick for this advanced copy, trust I’ll be first in line for the last book!!

This book can be summed up for me in one word:delicious!!!!! The plot, the characters, the spice! Absolutely delicious. Damon by J.L. Quick is the third book in the Delta Daddies Series and can be read as a stand alone.
Mackenzie was a fantastic FMC. I loved seeing her confidence grow throughout this book. The way she accepted herself and her body was so wonderful to read. She handled everything that was happening to her so well and showed such maturity throughout this book. I just loved her.
The banter between the guys was hilarious and honestly I love this world so much…I’ll be sad when it ends. I’ve been waiting to get to know Damon since book one and J.L didn’t disappoint. The way he loves Mackenzie and will do anything to keep her safe was awesome. Plus his dirty mouth? Yes…..he is Daddy.
Let’s discuss the spice. Ohhhhhh the spice. The storage room scene was hands down the spiciest, hottest thing I’ve ever read. My jaw was on the floor. It was everything. Damon’s dirty mouth is borderline obscene and I’m so here for it!!!!
Every time I finish a Dark Daddies of the Delta Force, I have a new favorite daddy. Congratulations Damon, you are indeed my favorite Dark Daddy. The spice in this was so good omg. I loved how patient he was with Kenzi. I loved that he saw her, truly saw her and encouraged her to be herself. Where others criticized and made her feel less than, Daddy Damon built her up. I loved how he loved her even before he said the words. I don’t envy anything or anyone who got in way of getting back to his girl. The plot was really interesting and I was so locked in to the drama. What can I say? I love the ex boyfriend’s dad trope. Sue me!
I can’t wait to read Gunnar😌
If you’re not already ready Dark Daddies, baby what are you waiting on? These men will have you blushing and giggling but also yearning at the same time cause what do you mean they worship the ground their women walk on, would do anything to protect them, support them, encourage them, help them learn to love the parts of themselves that they believed to be unlovable, and create such a safe space for them amongst all the chaos so that they can actually turn their brains off?? Need that!
It's official—Daddy Damon is my favourite in this series so far!
There’s just something about the dating your ex-boyfriend’s dad trope that hits every single time. 😏 Damon completely won me over. As always, J.L. Quick delivers a protective MMC who will do absolutely anything for his woman, and I loved every minute of it.
One of my favorite parts of the book was the team dynamic. Their constant teasing about Damon’s predicament and his struggle to balance his feelings for Mackenzi with his job had me laughing throughout the story 😂
What really made this book stand out for me, though, was the chemistry between Damon and Mackenzi. The tension was palpable from the very beginning, and J.L. Quick knows exactly how to build anticipation without dragging things out. I was hooked from page one and never struggled to get invested in the story.
If you're a fan of protective, possessive daddies who would do anything for the woman they love, this is absolutely a must-read. And if that daddy also happens to be your ex-boyfriend's father? Well, that's just an added bonus 😏🤭
Damon and Mackenzi were an unexpected couple as he was hired to be her bodyguard. He was her shadow and unable to keep it anything but business while around her. He was attracted to her mind and body even though he was trying to fight it due to their age gap of 20 years. That mirror scene.. took me out when he shows her she's more. 🌶🌶
Damon was comfortable in his skin and he was bound to bring her into his light. This protective daddy, phew wee. I had some inkling it would get messy with their assignment and his son. 😉
A great addition to our other two Daddies in Delta Force. ❤️
Thank you JL Quick and Luna Literary Management for the eARC!
J.L. has done it AGAIN! Another Delta Force Daddy for the WIN!! Damon is the 3rd book in her Dark Daddies of Delta Force Series, and Hawk and Jagger were perfect, but there is just something about Damon. Damon is a damaged man. He thinks he doesn’t deserve anything good because he really struggles with certain things and decisions he has made in his life. Him and the boys get a new job, but he wasn't expecting the job to become so serious or something he would become to greatly care about. Mackenzi is such a lovely girl. I loved everything about her character, and loved seeing them heal and fix broken pieces of each other. This book is packed full of tension, banter, spice, and action. It was definitely a page-turner. Highly recommend!

Mackenzi is a college student and the daughter of a U.S. ambassador. Damon is security to protect her and old enough to be her father. He’s big, tattooed and he’s daddy.
I enjoyed Damon and Mackenzi’a story. It’s suspenseful and spicy.
Thank you to Luna Literary for the ARC opportunity!
