The Ninth Door is a strong start to what feels like a promising epic fantasy series. Kella is an easy character to root for. Her disappointment, determination, and courage make her journey feel personal and real from the beginning.

I really enjoyed the mix of magic, political tension, and the looming threat of the assassin. The icy setting and the mystery surrounding the Gray Sea added depth to the world and kept me curious about what’s coming next.

If you enjoy stories with hidden powers, dangerous conspiracies, and a heroine who grows into her strength, this is definitely worth picking up. I’m looking forward to seeing where Kella’s journey goes in the next book.
