Hopewell Hollow

Rate this book
A fresh start. A quiet town. The perfect place to disappear.

After a terrible mistake destroys her career, nurse Eve Brooks is desperate for a new beginning. Hopewell Hollow seems like the ideal refuge—a secluded island town where no one knows her past. But something about the place feels… off. The people are too polite, too perfect. The asylum where she works is eerily quiet, every patient locked in a mysterious coma.
At the center of it all is Jennifer Lark, the town’s most powerful woman, who welcomes Eve with a smile that feels more like a warning.

The longer Eve stays, the more the town’s picture-perfect veneer begins to crack. People vanish without a trace. Secrets run deep, tragedies are quietly erased.

In Hopewell Hollow, the only thing more dangerous than the truth is those who protect it.

I was excited to get this ARC!

It was everything promised! It kept me going in circles! I can pretty much get a feel for authors and how they are going to go with the storyline and subplots, yet this one kept me guessing. I figured out only one of the subplots, the rest of it kept me hanging on by the skin of my teeth.

If you’re down for a good guessing game, this is your book! Nothing is as it seems in Hopewell Hollow. Nothing.

This one gets aaaall the ⭐️s! I can’t express enough just how much I love this book.

When Eve is hired to work at the asylum in a secluded island town, she quickly realizes all is not as it seems. I don’t want to ruin the mystery, but it will keep you guessing right until the end. The twists just keep coming! Highly recommend!

Hopewell Hollow is one of the absolute best books I’ve ever read! Eve is a disgraced nurse who is offered a fresh start on the tiny island of Hopewell Hollow, where everything and everyone are not what they seem. When Eve discovers the town’s deepest, darkest secret, her life is put in danger. Will she survive, or will Queen Jennifer (she’s truly horrid) continue to reign supreme?? Check this one out!!

Another terrifying story from Mr. Mullins!
In his fantastic historical supernatural style, this one debuta just in time to read on a dark night in October.
Reminds me of his super early work with the incredible way he writes strong female villains and heros.
Definitely give this one a try, try anything he writes, you will never be disappointed!

Hopewell Hollow was the first book I've read by Hubert L. Mullins, and he definitely didn't disappoint. Hopewell Hollow is a slow-burning psychological thriller that kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next
I would highly recommend adding Hopewell Hollow to your TBR.

Hubert L. Mullins has done it again! This slow burn, psychological thriller is perfectly paced, locking you in from chapter one and captivating you to blaze through this book, unable to put it down! His talent for world building makes you feel like you’re IN Hopewell Hollow. His character development is relatable from the perspective of the Reader digesting the backstories, with redemptive arcs being one of the many aspects showcasing his skill as a Writer and Storyteller. Easily one of my favorite reads of 2025 and just might be his best work yet.
