A post-apocalyptic horror novella drenched in gore and grief.
When the preppers run out of everything—food, water, hope, and sanity—the real horror begins.Ethan and Cora thought they were ready for the end of the world. As newlyweds with a passion for prepping, they built a self-sustaining bunker instead of a traditional home. But when a deadly virus decimates the planet and forces them into hiding, their carefully planned safe haven becomes a suffocating tomb. Five years pass with no signs of rescue, just solitude and the virus outside their door.No one ever prepares for what comes after the food runs out.
As starvation, thirst, and despair set in, the couple is left clinging to each other knowing that their end is near. With Cora fading before his eyes, Ethan makes an unthinkable choice—to prepare a meal from his own body.
It’s a desperate act of love, but even choices made with the best intentions can have dire consequences.
Sacriflesh is a visceral, disturbing story that blends splattergore brutality with psychological horror, exploring the extremes of devotion, survival, and what it means to give everything for someone you love.
You ever wonder what happens to preppers when they get their apocalypse but it’s not like in the movies where someone finds a solution before the supplies run out? This apocalypse comes in the form of a virus that obliterates a person within minutes. It literally liquifies a person’s insides and it is spread through mosquitoes. There is no hope. There are no happy endings.
What a fantastic debut apocalyptic horror story from Holly Harper and Nathaniel Colt. If you like bleak, this is bleak af. I look forward to seeing what else this pair comes up with.
I am positive I have no interest in going out of my way to survive the end of the world. This piece pretty much cemented that idea. This book is gruesome, heavy, and impeccably descriptive. It’s also very short, so there’s a lot to take in within a short timeframe.
This story is exactly as described, so don’t go in looking for a happy ending and getting mad at what you find.
