PROJECT HYPERCANE: GALVESTON is a sci-fi/disaster thriller revolving around hypercanes, hurricanes exceeding Cat 5 status caused by underwater volcanic activity super heating the ocean leading to the monster storms. A machine is devised to travel through time to locate deposits of a rare mineral which, when injected into the winds of a storm, causes it to dissipate. The combination of time travel and disaster is unique and enjoyable. The writing is excellent, Cal and Elizabeth are remarkable characters, the pace is fast and the dialogue is realistic. Overall, 4/5 stars, highly recommended for fans of sci-fi, disaster thrillers and anyone interested in reading something unique and rewarding. I'm hoping that this is the beginning of a series!
Interesting novel. Cal and Elizabeth make for an intriguing team. This story is a combination of time travel, fantasy, and science fiction. Many moving parts from the past to the future via time travel. The other members of the team along with Cal and Elizabeth are just as fascinating. If time travel is a genre that a reader is interested in, then this is an outstanding novel to read.
