“Did I do something wrong? I’ve worked hard, I’ve waited, but the doors still won’t open... Has Allah stopped loving me?”
When we want to achieve something, we’re often told that “hard work pays off.” But what happens when it doesn’t? What if you’ve put in all the effort, made sacrifices, followed every step, but the results are still not what you hoped for—and you feel like you’re stuck in the same place.
This painful moment can make you wonder why you’re not blessed with good rizq, like everyone else.
“Am I not meant to be blessed with something good?”
But how often do we go looking for rizq, not seeing that Allah SWT has already placed it close to us? How often do we chase opportunities, not knowing that what is truly meant for us is already written, just waiting for the right time to be revealed?
The Beauty of Promised Rizq takes readers on a reflective journey that explores the connection between our effort in daily life and the relationship we have with Allah SWT—The One who provides for us, especially on days we think we’re not getting enough.

What is meant for you will reach you even if it is beneath two mountains. And what is not meant for you won't reach you even if it's between your two lips.
Everything that happens is from Allah, so you need to trust Him when you are tested. Rizq is not only about money but also includes family relationships, peace of heart and many other blessings.
I’ve been a big fan of Ayesha Shahira’s works and have made it a point to collect all of her books (literally collected all). Compared to her earlier writings, which felt more direct, this one leans towards the poetic style, a beautiful evolution in her writings!!
One thing I especially appreciate is her openness in sharing her personal struggles with conceiving. To write such a personal trial into her reflections on tawakkul and rizq is incredibly brave, and it adds so much depth to this book.
Rizq and Tawakkul (trust in Allah’s plan) is interlated, and is never easy . whether it’s dealing with delays, disappointments, or the fear of hoping again after setbacks. Yet, this book gently reminds us that Allah is indeed the Best of Planners, and that whatever is truly meant for us will always reach us.
This book also reminded me of how back then building tawakkul was heavily related in connection with Allah’s names: -Al-Adl (The Most Just): What others receive is given justly to them by Allah. Their timeline doesn’t diminish yours. Be happy for them, for that is Allah’s justice at work. -Al-Alim (The All-Knowing): He knows what would harm us and what would guide us to good. Trust that His wisdom surpasses our limited understanding. -Ar-Razzaq (The Provider): His provisions are endless, arriving at the time best suited for us. If He sustains even the smallest of creatures, surely He will provide for us too.
This was a lovely and comforting read. My only note is that at times, there were a few repetitive sentences across chapters (quite a number of repetitions tbh) but overall, I truly enjoyed it and am already looking forward to her next work.
The moment I took this book was the moment where I was reflecting about all the things that I wish, are all fulfilled one by one, by Him!
I had been in her situation, I kept questioning myself...
why couldn't I get that? I've put my effort, where's the result? I prayed pretty hard, why can't He grant my dua?
There are times in life when we question why certain doors remain closed despite our efforts. Hence, she gently answers these question in her book. She reminds us, readers that rizq isn’t always about wealth or status, it is peace, health, love, faith, and every unseen blessing we take for granted. She's expanding our understanding of rizq where it is not confined to salary, business success, or recognition by people. It goes beyond that to the extent that remind us Allah is Ar-Razzaq, the Provider of all.
My 3 takeways :
- rizq isn't necessarily about material gains, it could be an ease in our days, the strength to get through the trials, good circle in workplace, loving family and etc. That's a lot that we couldn't count yet those are our rizq, an invisible ones.
- One of the most comforting themes in this book is how the author reframes waiting for the rizq we hope for. We often see delay as rejection, but in Allah’s wisdom, delay can be a protection, redirection, or preparation. What we perceive as “late” might, in truth, be right on time for our spiritual growth.
- don't compare your life with others. It could blind us from seeing our own blessings. She reminds us that every soul’s rizq is written, unique, and just enough for its journey. Have you heard about qanaah? The sense of qanaah (sufficiency) is indeed a greatest rizq.
I read this book during my 2 hours flight heading to family travel and it's a peaceful reminder that even the journey itself is a form of rizq. Trust in Allah's timing!
This little book is a gem. The writer has described very well what “rizq” (sustenance) is in general context not just materials possessions. She also shared her own experiences that lead to her understanding of God’s plan and what the meaning of the Ayahs in the Quran. The concepts were nothing totally new but they were written so beautifully and precise right to the point in such a way that truly brought a fresh air and brought home the messages. The only one thing missing that I felt she should have included was how “sadaqah” also did play such a big role for a Muslim to attain abundance in “rizq”. She included “Tawakkal”; perseverance, Non-stop “Dua”; “Husnuz zhan” and many others related to “rizq”. Being an experienced writer (I have her other earlier books) she had shown great maturity and the writings were indeed very good and I enjoyed reading it. I don’t mind to read again later on just as my reminders.
i believe this is the kind of book you would grab at times you need reassurance of what lies ahead. Allah has written your rizq in the best way you can ever imagine, so leave your worries in the hands of Allah. my favourite part of this book is when the author wrote about the link between gratitude and rizq. it gave a fresh perspective on how gratitude can ‘reveal’ more blessings rather than hoping for more to come. thank you so much for writing this book. may Allah bless the author and everyone involved with the process abundantly.
lastly, I come up with an affirmation: My faith is bigger than my fear — and Allah alone is sufficient.
kita selalu sangat rasa semua yang kita plan akan jadi, if we work like this we will get this afterwards, selalu kita buat sesuatu kita dah ada mindset result yang kita nak tu satu achievement, jadi bila kita tak dapat kita merungut pulak.
Cara writer menyampaikan message begitu menarik bagi saya, it feels like tak kena ceramah😆 tak rasa dipaksa utk berdamai dgn takdir. Rasa macam dipujuk dgn lembut bila baca cara penulisan writer ni. Overall, saya suka sangat 1000/10.
