This volume covers through chapter 88 of the manhwa and ends kind of on a cliffhanger. I listened to the audiobook and realized I do not like audio of sexy time (and there’s a lot in this volume lol). This narrator vocalized all the ngh’s, grunts, and moans with enthusiasm and for some reason gave Sangwoo a little bit higher pitched voice 🫣.
-Dual POV really helps understand where both are coming from and how their behavior impacts each other
-Loved Jaeyoung’s patience and waiting for consent but holy jealous much?
-One is jealous and possessive openly and one doesn’t know what he feels and keeps defining it wrong in his head
Time to watch the drama I guess!

It's amazing how much better this works as a novel series than a manhwa - the books are much clearer about Sangwoo's neurodivergence and Jaeyoung's thoughts.

AHHHH I SERIOUSLY LOVE JAEYOUNG AND SANGWOO TOGETHER. WHAT SEXUAL TENSION THERE WAS IN THIS SECOND VOLUME! I LOVE THAT THEY CALL EACH OTHER BASTARD AND I LOVE THAT THEY ARE SLOWLY FALLING IN LOVE. I NEED MORE!

Segunda parte que estaba deseando leer, tanto que en cuanto llegó me lancé a por ello. Tenía miedo, porque son 429 páginas de libro y pensaba que iba a alargar innecesariamente la historia con giros y trabas, tenía miedo y ansiedad por ellos dos, pero me ha encantado que la historia en sí misma acabe sobre la página 200 y luego fueran “historias extras” mostrándonos la evolución como pareja de Jae-young y Sang-Woo.
He muerto de amor en varias ocasiones con estos dos, me tenían enganchadísima y encantada con todo, hasta con los malentendidos o la incapacidad de Sang-Woo de entender ciertas cosas y lo frustrado que estaba Jae-young. Al final cómo evolucionan como pareja, como personas, me ha parecido redondo, no acaban siendo unos personajes perfectos, siguen teniendo sus cosas, pero eso mismo los hace más reales.
Encantada con este broche final para la historia de Semantic Error, sobre todo con todas esas pequeñas historias que muestran cómo sigue su final feliz.

Después de un intensísimo primer volumen, llegamos al desenlace de una historia que nos habla de identidad, de madurez, de autodescubrimiento y de cambios; un enemies to lover ardiente en el que dos personajes antagónicos que jamás debería haberse cruzado terminan locamente enamorados.
Sin poder graduarse a causa de un desgraciado que le había chivado al profesor que había falseado la asistencia en una asignatura obligatoria, el diseñador gráfico Jang Jae-young no puede creerse que, por primera vez en su vida, se haya enamorado y que esta persona sea un hombre, el mismo desgraciado que lo ha obligado a estar un semestre más en la universidad, el mismo chalado que se ha encontrado varias veces y que, en todas ellas, ha vivido situaciones surrealistas; un chalado que lo ha tachado de psicópata, de delincuente, de error del sistema y que luego lo ha buscado para que sea su diseñador y hacer conjuntamente un juego para móviles.
Ese chico, Chu Sang-woo, el piojo verde más raro con el que se ha encontrado jamás, se le ha metido a Jae-young tan bajo la piel que incluso está haciendo cosas que nunca antes había pensado que haría por nadie. Como, por ejemplo, irse corriendo de vuelta a Seúl después de escucharle decir que lo echaba de menos y dejar la reunión familiar de lado, algo que sabe que puede costarle muy caro. Aun así, por primera vez, Jae-young sintió paz en un entorno que lo omprime, lo asfixia. Lo consume. Si está con Sang-woo, todo en el interior de Jae-young está bien, completo, en orden. Pero hay un problema. Uno grave. Y es que Chu Sang-woo, el genio de la programación y que se sabe todos los códigos de programación, es como un robot sin sentimientos, un robot al que el programa del entendimiento del amor no le ha sido instalado. Y esto trae de cabeza a Jae-young, porque le carcome la palabra «te quiero» en el corazón, le quema en la garganta, deseando sus cuerdas vocales el pronucniarlas y liberar esas emociones que lo están consumiendo y, a la vez, le estan dando la vida por primera vez.
Y tiene miedo de decirlo, de confesarle a su compañero sus sentimientos y que este, con su lógica implacable, lo rechace. Porque si bien Jae-young sabe que Sang-woo siente lo mismo que él (o eso cree), le aterra no ser más que un desahogo físico, un simple cuerpo con el que sentir y experimentar el placer del sexo. ¿Qué puede hacer Jae-young si, además, en nada se marcha a Estados Unidos para hacer el máster que tenía previsto después de graduarse?
Por su parte, desconociendo todos los galimatías y dilemas de su compañero, Sang-woo no acaba de entender el amalgama de emociones que lo embargan siempre que está al lado de su hyung. Y es que es incapaz de comprender cómo ha cambiado tanto su vida (¡su rutina!) desde que entró en ella vestido de rojo Jang Jae-young. Y es que sus encuentros no han sido de cuento de hadas, ni mucho menos de K-drama, sino que han sido de película de terror, a cada cual peor que la anterior, encuentros que pusieron a Sang-woo al límite y que, ahora, busca y desea con todo su ser.
Y es que es incapaz de concebir su día a día sin ese error semántico, sin la sonrisa pícara y juguetona de Jae-young, sin sus estupideces, sin su olor, el sonido de su voz, sin sus labios al besarlo, al pronunciar su nombre y sin su cuerpo cálido y desnudo pegado al suyo. ¿Por qué la lujuria no se va después de tantas noches de sexo? ¿Por qué su corazón no deja de acelerarse cada vez que están juntos? ¿Por qué lo necesita tanto en su rutina que, si no lo ve en un par de días, siente que no puede ser un humano adulto funcional?
Sin ser capaz de entender (o más bien sin querer reconocer) lo que está sintiendo por Jae-young, hay algo que preocupa mucho a Sang-woo, y no es el juego que están haciendo, el cual está siendo el mejor de los trabajos de ambos, compenetrándose perfectamente a pesar de lo antagónicos que son, sino el hecho de que, en dos meses, Jae-young se irá del país y Sang-woo no lo verá nunca más. ¿Por qué le duele? ¿Porque sin él no tiene a nadie con quién calmar el ardor de la pasión?, ¿o es algo más fuerte y que va más allá de lo físico?
Terminando este enemies to lovers cómico, pero con su dosis de buen drama y de seriedad, J.Soori se corona con el final de Semantic Error en este segundo volumen, haciéndolo perfecto y, con ello, creando un romance Boys'Love que se merece el cariño de los lectores y el que se te quede grabado en el corazón para siempre.

Was this a worthy sequel/ending to the perfect first novel? Kinda sorta not really, at least for me.
I had to switch to the Spanish edition because I'm too impatient for the second English novel to come out. I will start by saying that the translation is waaaaaay better and includes more "cultural elements." However, the division of the story between the two books is quite unfortunate, as this second part only includes the third act of the story, which I always found a little meh anyway (dragging on forever and then abruptly ending), barely reaching the halfway mark of the book, and the rest consists of the Extras.
This might be controversial but I didn't love the Extras, I even found some of them boring and repetitive . I wanted to love them but at some point I just found myself looking forward to finishing the book already because it's sooo loooong.
Anyways, I'm done and I even had time to get over the story and even get tired of the characters while reading this second novel, so I'm not even sad. Thank you for the good time Jae-young and Sang-woo ⭐️

This wasn't bad, but it was definitely a step down compared to the first book in this series. I still mostly enjoy Jaeyoung and Sangwoo as a couple, and it was nice to see how their relationship developed. Story beats from the first book were all picked up and dealt with in a mostly satisfying manner. I still enjoy the overall writing style, I never encountered anything that made me outright cringe or shake my head. However, to explain my issues with this book, I have to go into more detail.
The thing is, I don't understand why this book is as long as it is. After the first half, the story should've been done. Jaeyoung and Sangwoo's relationship comes to a nice romantic high point after they've dealt with all their emotional troubles and there would've been enough left to the reader's imagination to think about how their lives continue. But the book just... keeps going. Like, why? The second half of this book is filled with sudden time skips, artificial drama, and unnecessary complications, which are all just made up to keep the book going. It felt so random! It was starting to feel like I was reading a fanfic where the author kept coming up with random drama so the story could continue. It just didn't make sense to me. My interest in the book declined massively after the first half, and by the last 50 pages, I just wanted to be done with it all. We had a good thing going here, but then it overstayed its welcome.
There were things I praised in the first book that now took a turn for the worse in the sequel. I initially liked how Sangwoo being autistic-coded was being treated. It wasn't seen as something big that needed fixing, but rather Sangwoo simply learning to warm up to certain situations. But now the book phrases it as Sangwoo actually becoming less like a robot, that Jaeyoung was able to change him, and that this changed, more warm-hearted and less socially awkward Sangwoo is an improvement. It just felt like the book was now implying that it's actually desirable that Sangwoo HAD TO change his neurodivergent behaviour in order to become a better person.
There were also some aspects to Jaeyoung and Sangwoo's relationship that felt a bit iffy to me. There were several moments during the more spicy scenes when Sangwoo was feeling uncomfortable or unsure, and Jaeyoung outright ignored that and kept going. This was not portrayed as a problem, but rather as a "barrier" they had to break through to experience even more intense intimacy. I don't know, it didn't feel fully consensual at times (or at least not well communicated)...
Apropos intimacy: there was sooooo much s*x in this book, and it started to annoy me at some point. Like, I get it. The BL gotta BL, and the first book was spicy as well. But in the 2nd book, it just feels like whenever Jaeyoung and Sangwoo didn't have any story-related things to do, they would shag. All the time. They would make out, and 10 pages later, there would be another s*x scene. It was just too much shagging and not enough romance for my liking. The smut starts losing its appeal if it happens too frequently. Literally at the very end of the book, when the characters actually need to hurry to get somewhere, they just start snogging again and then book ends. It just felt too random and uneventful after a while.
The thing is, I didn't hate this. But it was disappointing how annoyed I was by the end of the book. The first half is a perfectly solid end to Jaeyoung and Sangwoo's story, but then the book just keeps going and ruins it all with random bullsh*t. Minor flaws from the first book have become way bigger issues. I still really like the first book, and I like the couple's vibe. I just wish the story had found a better way to wrap up their story.

Pues esa es la trama, como personas completamente opuestas pueden al fin llegar a un encuentro, llegar a ese punto que los una finalmente y ese punto es *drum rolls* sí, el amor 💘 *waaaaaaa*
Básicamente es eso people, no importa lo desencontrados que estén *love wins all* porque cambias, te cambia, cambiamos. Para poder coincidir con el otro (cómo en esta historia) UN CAMBIO BUENO gente. No cambio para mal sino porque son GENTE DISTINTA Y SI LA PERSONA LO VALE CAMBIAS algun mambo tuyo y te amoldas porque la querés y la queres entender y te ama y vos la amas ? Ok?

I listened to the audio book and I really enjoy the narrator. I love this story. These two were the first BL manhwa that I really loved and I love that the art for the novel was done by the same artist as was selected for the manhwa.
The story, this is where the pull and push aspect of the story really picks up. We are dealing with family issues, realizing how they mean more to each other than they thought or expected, dealing with internalized homophobia, and learning to communicate (which they are not perfect at). I still think Sangwoo needs to apologize. The grocery story analogy kills me every time. I think Jaeyoung bad emotional regulation really came off more explosive here, which is a good thing. We can see why Sangwoo who takes everything at face value has a hard time relating and understanding but longs to keep Jaeyoung in his life.
The sex addict quiz still cracks me up. I laugh every time. He really can't understand how could be so into someone.
The story, this is where the pull and push aspect of the story really picks up. We are dealing with family issues, realizing how they mean more to each other than they thought or expected, dealing with internalized homophobia, and learning to communicate (which they are not perfect at). I still think Sangwoo needs to apologize. The grocery story analogy kills me every time. I think Jaeyoung bad emotional regulation really came off more explosive here, which is a good thing. We can see why Sangwoo who takes everything at face value has a hard time relating and understanding but longs to keep Jaeyoung in his life.
The sex addict quiz still cracks me up. I laugh every time. He really can't understand how could be so into someone.

We got to learn a lot more about Jaeyoung and Sangwoo in this volume. We learn about Sangwoos family and the influence Jaeyoung has had on this once robot like guy. Jaeyoung decides to finally do what’s best for himself and not the pressure that comes from being from a rich family.
