it's seventh year (??), and severus snape drags a bedraggled, furious draco malfoy back to hogwarts where he asks headmistress minerva mcgonagall to hide draco to save him from dying painfully at the hands of an enraged voldemort who considers the malfoy family, and draco specifically, fuck-ups unworthy of life. mcgonagall asks head girl hermione granger to hide draco in the second bedroom of the suite she's been given, where he will be confined and watched over.
SO FAR: i do believe draco would kind of think he had nothing to live for and would be terrified and thus totally belligerent and rude, but i still don't quite believe he would be so rudely aggro to mcgonagall, especially if she's his best hope at survival. i also don't believe mcgonagall would put up with it with merely eye-rolls: she might agree to hide the asshole, but she would not be passive in the face of disrespect. she's a gryffindor, after all.
also, why does snape totally blow his cover as a double agent to a totally unhinged, untrustworthy draco malfoy who is VERY much in danger of being apprehended by the Dark Lord? that seems an ENORMOUS risk that i'm not sure severus would have taken, given all that he'd sacrificed over decades to maintain his cover.
