Forbidden Beloved

Breathing was not an option when their gazes locked. Alexander’s hauntingly beautiful eyes seemed to penetrate her soul, unfurling all her secrets. And his smile – Oooh, his smile could end wars or start them, depending on his mood. But his dangerous good looks were irrelevant. He was an Unseelie faie and a wicked prince at that, while Roxy belonged to the Seelie Court. Their destinies should have never intertwined. Nevertheless, it didn’t slow Alexander’s determination to get her tangled between his bed sheets.

With the Unseelie prince’s insanely addictive kiss lingering on her lips, Roxy is appointed by the Seelie Court to investigate their king’s murder. As more faies turn up dead, Roxy must find the killer before accusations push the two courts into war. One problem: the killer orchestrates a twisted game of hide-and-seek, as if amused by the web of lies they create. The catch: all the clues lead to an Unseelie prince being the killer mastermind – the very faie whose touch Roxy craves.

Award Winning Author, Sarah J. Pepper, specializes in fantasy and paranormal romance. She unveils the beauty of love in her new adult/young adult novels. Her works envelope dark, paranormal romance - think "happy ever after" but with a twisted, dark chocolate center. Real-life romance isn't only filled with hugs, kisses, bunnies, and rainbows. True-love can be more thoroughly described in times of darkness and tribulation. It's in those harsh moments where you see what a person is truly capable of - both the good and bad. Sometimes prince-charming isn't always on time, and the glass slipper is a little snug. However, it doesn't mean Charming is not Mr. Right, and who says every shoe is the perfect fit? www.sarahjpepper.com

Honestly I want to give this book a 4.5 rating!!!

I received this book from the author for a truthful review.

Alrighty Folks. I am a big time Paranormal reader. When the author approached us about a review, I totally jumped. I was excited to try out a new series. I was also pretty excited that it was about the Fae. I haven't really read any books where Fae characters are front and center. I will say that knowing it is a new series, I knew there will be alot of character building and world explaining. I was prepared for it but it was a long process because there are alot of mythical creatures in this series to learn about...some even I have never heard of before. I will say I was getting a little confused about all the people because from the start you get alot of names thrown at you. Sooooo it is kind of daunting at first. I will admit thinking 'I dunno about this book". However, I have to stay STICK WITH IT!!!! OMG this book was amazing. There are soo many side plots and main plots and just PLOTS PLOTS PLOTS that it keeps you busy. I honestly don't even know how to cover everything about this novel so I am going to talk characters with you.

Roxy-Princess to the Seelie court and pretty much hot mess of a girl. Her ex-fiancee, Wyatt, is a total jackass who cheated. Then she falls for Black Bird Ashton who dumps her after saying hurtful things. She is totally pinning for him 4 years later and he is just cruel. Then she has to deal with Alexander the Prince of the Wicked Court/Unseelie Prince . He finds great joy is embarrassing her ooooorrrrrr is he like a 5 year old boy who teases those he likes????? HRMMMMMM Poor Roxy decides to date again and gets messed with. Everyone finds out she is a megga cool Fae with kick ass powers that she has been hiding. Ashton comes crawling back and you almost like the guy until Nadia sets us straight that he is a Douche Bag.

Preston-He is Roxy's older brother and bff to Alexander. You get the impression from him that Alexander MAY kinda like Roxy with a few comments he says early on and a few shocked looks from Alexander. When Roxy and Preston's father is murdered the two along with Alexander go about trying to find who and why it happened...hence the mega plots and such.

Alexander (insert a THUD here because hot damn I love him)-yes he is a naughty boy and yes he

does play a part in a few heart breaks for Roxy BUT I just love love love him. I enjoy the scenes with him and Roxy. You figure out early on how he feels for her and how she feels for him and yet he still pursues her. *sigh* He is wicked and very much a cocky shit but I love that about him. I have a thing for the cocky, arrogant alpha males.

Ok so that is my break down of the main characters. If I listed allll the characters my posting would be like 50 pages long. I will say this book rocked my world. The final few chapters I had some major tummy pains and heart aches. I cannot wait to read book 2 and am on my knees begging to review it as well. So if you are looking for something new and paranormal, give this author/series a try.

I won this book from one of the Goodreads giveaways. I am definitely happy about the win. I love a good fantasy book, but I was skeptical about it being fairies. However, it worked very well. The book itself kept me reading right up to the end. It was a great find, and I am looking forward to reading more by her!
