Knight of Sunshine continues the emotional journey begun in Knight of Enlightenment, deepening the themes of vulnerability, connection, and personal growth. This is a romance that prioritizes emotional introspection and inner transformation as much as the relationship itself.
The writing remains highly descriptive and reflective, with a rich, often flowery prose style that leans heavily into feelings, longing, and internal conflict. At times, this level of emotional detail made it harder for me to stay fully immersed, as the narrative spends a great deal of time inside the characters’ thoughts. However, readers who enjoy poetic language and emotionally immersive storytelling will likely find this approach rewarding.
Together, the two books read best as a complete duology rather than as standalones, forming one continuous emotional arc. I appreciated how much space the author gives to emotional walls, healing, and the courage it takes to let someone truly see you. The romance unfolds slowly and intentionally, allowing the characters’ growth to feel earned.

This is the second and final book in the Knight series and what a way to end it! Author JC Montgomery knew exactly what she was doing when she decided to end her series with just a second novel, and she certainly ended it on a high note. It reminded me of when leaving a party, you want to leave it when it’s still cresting, and not overdue your stay.
This book continues the story of Hannah and Clayton, their relationship growing deeper everyday. Hannah is now practically living on Clayton’s farm, even if not officially. However, as their bond deepens, so do the ghosts of Clayton’a past as Hannah begins to learn more and more about the man she has fallen irrevocably in love with. A past that includes a desperate ex, legal troubles, and a decision that can’t be taken back (not that Clayton would want to anyway). But all things that could potentially jeopardize the blooming relationship they’ve formed.
JC Montgomery wrapped up her second novel in such a smart, suspenseful, heartfelt and forgiving way. This book wrapped itself around my heart and held me hostage all the way through.
This book was emotional, passionate, suspenseful, and so beautifully healing. Hannah and Clayton’s story had everything I love in a romance: pain, vulnerability, tension, protection, mystery, and that kind of love that feels like it reaches into the broken parts of you and says, “I’m not leaving.”
Hannah’s heart has been through so much, and you can feel every wall she has built around herself. But Clayton… my God, Clayton. He is the kind of man who doesn’t just love softly. He loves deeply, fiercely, protectively, and with his whole damn soul.
The chemistry between Hannah and Clayton was intense, but what got me the most was the emotional connection. The way they see each other. The way they challenge each other. The way love becomes both terrifying and healing at the same time.
This book is more than a romance. It’s about finding light after being so deep in the darkness. It’s about being brave enough to love again. It’s about realizing that even the most guarded hearts still deserve to be chosen, protected, and loved so damn hard.

I recently read book one in this duology by JC Montgomery and I was so excited to read the second book. Book one (Knight of Enlightenment) leaves the reader with a cliffhanger, so I was eager to see what happens next. And guys-even with how good book one was…. I have to tell you…. I liked book two even more! The suspense was even more suspenseful and the romance, yearning, and spice were next level.
Our protective, rugged cowboy is even more swoon worthy as we learn more about his past and his home. Our independent, charming flower shop owner goes through a difficult journey in this book and finds a family where she least expects it. I just love how the author wrapped it all up. I wouldn’t change a thing!

This book ended the duology simply beautifully.
Hannah and Clayton's relationship was a rollercoaster but their ride was beautiful, dangerous, joyful, fearful, and more. I truly fell in love with these characters.
The ending was perfect, I cried 😭 happy tears of course.
The epilogue.... I did not expect that....but it made me
chuckle and oh so happy.
"I love you Hannah, Fiercely"... I just can't can’t 🥺😭

This book follows on from the cliffhanger in book one. I'd like to say that's the end of the suspense in the story. But it isn't. The twist. turns, secrets and suspense continue in this book. But ultimately Hannah is a strong woman and fights for what she wants. I will say it brings the story to a well deserved ending for Hannah and Connor.

I really enjoyed getting to see Hannah and Clayton finally get their HEA. What a ride it was to get there! This book was full of twists and turns—some I saw coming, others completely stunned me.
Knight of Sunshine picks up right where Knight of Enlightenment left off, immediately after Hannah’s brutal attack by Blake. From the very first chapter, the tension and emotion pull you right back into the story. JC Montgomery does a great job bringing everything full circle—tying up loose ends while still throwing in some unexpected surprises that kept me turning the pages.
What I loved most was how fiercely Hannah and Clayton loved each other. Their connection felt real—born from pain, strengthened by trust, and sealed with a deep, healing love that made every struggle worth it.
A beautiful conclusion to a gripping story—emotional, intense, and full of heart.

I went into the reading of the Knight series knowing it was Romance with some spice. But it was not just that, it was much more. The Knight of Sunshine provided twists, turns, and surprise outcomes that are definitely Thriller worthy. A brilliant merging of two styles.
Hannah, a strong and confident business woman, with a fighter instinct, overcomes her losses in life to finally trust a true love. Not without ups and downs in learning about each other’s pasts they solidify their relationship with honesty, love and trust in each other.
The author’s ability to hide small details that eventually reveal themselves at the perfect moments was so satisfying.
Can not wait to read more from this new, but with an obvious “Old Soul”,

I jumped into this book immediately after the first in this series and was not disappointed! What kept me interested in the first book was multiplied even further. What a riveting story. The juxtaposition between the characters' past and present was every looming, lurking, and keeping me on my toes. What will come next: past regrets, shame, fear, or a love like you've never known?! Even with all of the surprises, this book still felt so familiar. Love as a theme travels throughout. It's deep and familiar and all-consuming in so many ways. I loved following the main character's journey and the epilogue was the cherry on top of the literary sundae. What a delight!

Absolutely obsessed with this book! I feel incredible connected to all of the characters and was extremely pleased with the character development. JC Montgomery tied this romantic story together with a nice little bow and it has left me craving more of her magical writing! For a debut romance, this series is fantastic!

I was hooked from the first page. The second book picks up from the shocking cliffhanger and just unfolds into this amazing twisted and complex story of mystery, suspense and romance. If you love slow burn, and healing romance this series is a must read!

Book 2 certainly didn't disappoint or lose momentum.
Hannah's story continues with more shocking surprises & secrets, some good, others stomach churning.
If you like to feel all the feels while immersed in a book then you'll get that in abundance....heart warming, heartbreaking, fear, suspense, anger, sadness & loads of love!

I binged "Knight of Sunshine" in 2 days because I didn't want to leave this addictive storyline. I found Drama, Mystery, Suspense, Humor, Romance, and Steam all wrapped together around strong, loveable characters. This is just a beautiful book!

Knight of Sunshine honestly surpassed what I was hoping it to be. I jumped right into this one after reading Knight of Enlightenment. The amount of pure love between Hannah and Clayton is incredible. Their story is wholesome and healing and it is quite the ride for them to get to their HEA. I absolutely LOVE their connection, it feels so real. Hannah and Clayton are written perfectly… the emotions they carry are so real, and relatable. This series is so emotionally engaging. I love them both so much.
They are so passionate about each other, they don’t give up on each other, they both keep on pushing through for one another, and no matter what happened in the past they accept each other for who they are. I think I’m going to have a hard time reviewing this one without spoilers but I will do my best. In book two we have Hannah still fighting for the happiness she wants/deserves. She still has a lot of healing to do and even more trauma than we started with in book one. Once she finds herself at home with the new love of her life, new challenges arise. Little does she know, he’s hiding some secrets of his own. Hanna became even more resilient in this second book and was able to learn to stand on her own. She had me rooting for her with all the different hits coming her way and I found myself saying “atta girl” as she was able to stand up for not only herself but for those she held close. Montgomery truly wrote an emotional, beautiful story.

This was a great read that hooked me from the start. It follows Hannah, who’s been hurt in the past and has pretty much closed herself off from love, until she meets a strong, slightly grumpy but caring guy who slowly breaks down her walls. Their connection is intense, and both of them have things from their past to work through, which keeps the story interesting. With a mix of romance and a little mystery, it’s an emotional story about taking a chance on love even when it’s scary. It kept me turning the pages, finishing the story quickly.

I thought book 1 was a roller coaster, I wasn't prepared for book 2. Hannah and Clayton story is just beautiful and filled with love and bumps on the road.What a strong woman Hannah is .. With all that happened to her and still be able to trust and open her heart. She's amazing! This book is such an intense and powerful story.What a nice ending for Hannah and Clayton.The last pages got me gasping.

After reading the first book in the series, I immediately bought the second one. The suspense is so well done. The writing is fantastic. I loved all the characters and the ending couldn’t have been more perfect. So well done! I can’t wait to read more from this author.

What a beautiful and hard fought ending for Clayton and Hannah!
This picks up right where Knight of Enlightenment ends and dives right into Hannah's attack. Clayton and Hannah's tension and chemistry was great throughout this book and the way they loved each other so fiercely was so beautiful. We learn so much more about Clayton's and I love how Hannah's love for him never wavered. She understood why he did what he did and loves him even more for it. Hannah's fierceness grew so much in this book and her character growth was amazing. I enjoyed the twists in this one to give us that suspense element. This series was a beautiful and healing love story.
