"You’re ours now, darling. Our sweet little prey. How does that make you feel?"
After the unexpected death of my abusive husband, I did the only reasonable thing someone could possibly do when one was utterly broken and looking for direction.

I moved across the country and started over.

It worked in my favor, thankfully. I had a roof over my head, food on the table, and I was slowly starting to accept the fact that I would never be the same girl—the girl who thought romance and intimacy should be nothing but sunshine and fairy tales—again.

That version of Rory Vale died with him.

Instead, I was a girl who desired a unique sense of darkness. A girl who not only wanted to be chased and adored, but also hunted and owned.

The only hangup?

I had found two men who wanted to give me everything I could ever desire. Two Navy SEALs who knew exactly how to give me what I needed. But if I said yes to them—to us—then I would belong to them forevermore.

Because while they wanted a third, they also wanted… a family.

And shockingly, I think I wanted that too.

First a huge thanks to Luna Literary and C.S Silverne for this ALC.
Performed by Ash Beverly and Marina Craven. Such a good duo.

Check the trigger warnings and content warnings because this one does involve a lot.

5 stars. Absolutely LOVED it.
A dark but beautiful short story. Literally about 2 hours and I was fully invested. I usually listen to my audiobooks around 3x speed. I slowed this one down and still devoured it.

Rory? Such a badass. 10000 percent my kind of girl. I 🫶🏻 heart with my whole entire heart. She deserves all of the happiness and I am soooo glad she got it.

Aiden and Casey are both perfection. I do seem to lean towards Aiden more. The chemistry between those two were unmatched. Simple love them. That was absolutely hot 🥵

The emotion was spectacular. I did get a little teared up with Rory’s story. Like I said she’s my girl and I’ll forever love her.
I need more. I could listen literally all day long.
If you are looking for something hot and spicy definitely pick this one up.

I love stories of survivors finding the love they deserve after escaping abusive relationships. ♥ All three of these characters were so sweet and lovable, and this is possibly my favorite depiction of a throuple I've ever read. Showing that boundaries and commitment exist within the polyamorous lifestyle, just like they do in monogamy, is so valuable when it comes to fighting against the assumptions and judgments a lot of people have about happy and healthy polyamorous relationships!

PREYLESS gets all the stars for it's spice which was absolutely on fire, but outside of that the story didn't make much sense so I have to rate this lower. It's just fiction so I know it doesn't need to be realistic and I don't even mind that this was insta-love at warp speed but the way the characters acted and the choices they made didn't come anywhere close to realistic considering their circumstances and past traumas. If you can ignore all of that and you're just looking for some spicy poly and primal play then you'd probably love this one.

On a positive note, I did like the individual characters and I loved seeing Rory find happiness again after an abusive relationship. In typical fashion for a lot of these MMF books, the previously established MM couple is mostly sidelined to focus on the woman so I do wish that had been better balanced. Points though for giving us a whimpering man, I do love that.

This one was quick and I mean really, really quick. It is of course a Novella and a side effect of that is that we don’t really have many pages to work with but the pacing was also super-fast. That being said, I think the author did handle this in such a way that we get just enough of a backstory of the characters for their motivations to make sense but I wish we we’re able to explore this more throughout, get into the nitty gritty of why these characters are the way they are. I think most of the concentration was on Rory, which I think was the right decision as her history was filled with trauma and aligns more with why she is the person she is today but I would of liked to see a little more of Aiden and Casey, how they got to where they are, How they came together and why they have these urges, even if I can see that this wasn’t as important.

When we start this story, we learn that Rory is basically reinventing herself after escaping an abusive situation, starting a new job at a hotel, essentially building her life from scratch. We then flip to Aiden and Casey, living their life as a couple discussing the possibility of looking for a little bit more in life. One thing I do want to mention is that despite the fact that both Aiden and Casey are Navy Seals, we don’t really see or hear anything of this other than them in uniform a few times. We then have a time jump, which I think was necessary as this has given Rory a little time to settle into her new life and build up a little more confidence in herself.

After the boys have decided they finally want to pursue more and Rory has decided she going to go after what she wants for herself, the trio meets on a kink app ‘Preyless’. Can I just say, the first initial in person meeting is perfect. I loved it and it is potentially my favourite part of the entire Novella. The boys we’re so sweet and chivalrous without ruining the illusion of the whole fantasy situation that has been set up. They calmed her worries without even knowing what they were. The spicy scenes were hot; I have no complaints but I do have a little bit of a yearning for a full mmf scene. I think maybe I just expected this with the dynamics that we’re going on so I was more surprised that there wasn’t one more than anything else.

Overall, This was a solid Novella. I feel like I say this constantly but I wish this story had more time. These characters had such a potential and I think this length of story did not give them enough leg room. It was enough but barley. That being said I had a good time reading this throughout, I read it in one sitting in about an hour and I do now have a carinal need to read more from this author. Thankyou C.S.Silverne for providing me with an arc copy of your Novella! It was an absolute trip!

Holy frick on a stick. I feel like I need to take a bath in holy water after reading this little beauty! This is a short smut filled MMF read that is superb! When a book has content warnings that go over a page, you know it’s gonna be a keeper. I DEMOLISHED this book and will definitely be going back to read the authors other works. If you love MMF, primal play and breeding kinks mixed with laugh out loud humour then get this booked added to your TBR list now!! 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Woahhhh 🥵 I was so excited to get a chance to read this book and I was not disappointed. This was everything I look for in a novella! I binged it within a few hours of downloading it and I’m so sad it’s over. I need more of Rory, Aiden and Casey asap!
The spice was spicinggg and had just the right amount for a shorter read. 🌶️
This book definitely has some triggers that she shares in the beginning for those that have any.

Thank you to Luna Literary Management for the opportunity to listen to an Advanced Listening Copy (ALC). All thoughts are my own.

After moving across the country to start her life over, she joins a unique dating app called Preyless. She didn't think she'd meet anyone, much less two people that were exactly what she was looking for. Aiden and Casey are looking to invite a third person into their relationship, with the eventual goal of starting a family some day.

I loved reading the MM scenes and loved the spicy scenes even more when they became MMF! This book is heavy on the breeding k!nk, so please be mindful of that when going in. While there is some brief plot, this is much more a steamy read and it sounds like this throuple makes an appearance in other books in this series.

Side note: The epilogue was kind of funny with the mention of Rory being a book girlie and obtaining "shelf trophies."

‼️SPOILERS‼️

I have never read any books by C.S. Silverne and man, am I hooked? I wasn’t expecting to love this short book so much but when a book is short, spicy and has a plot in my opinion, I just knew I was going to love it.

I loved the knife play but that first spicy scene had me gasping because I needed more. Also, when one of the guys opened her car door, I was swooning because you could tell from that very moment she’s never had it so good. She was like “why” and he was like “why wouldn’t I?” I was melting in a puddle of good.

What I really loved was there was the fact that these two men were looking for a third and I’m sorry, I love it when the guys are boyfriends. Ira my weakness and the way that they meet her online and then in person, yes please!

Also, whenever I see Ash as the narrator, I know it’s going to be amazing. I loved how he narrated both men because I loved how I knew who was Aiden and who was Casey. Ashley just sucks you in but I was so giddy when he narrated Casey because that man was such a brat.

And Marina… this woman portrayed Rory so perfectly. She’s a narrator I need more because pairing her with Ash was sinfully perfect.

If you’re looking for a short book whether it’s the audiobook or not with some raunchy spicy times, be prepared for the emotions that you also get.

I received a copy of this audiobook and this is my honest review.

This was such a short but sweet little read. I love when a book is to the point. It gives you enough to be invested but your not left without proper closure. This book was about a couple of Navy Seals who are in love with each other but they are missing a key link to their life. They go on a dating app to find the person that is meant to complete their polycule. Our main fmc has escaped a tragic and traumatic past. She is learning to navigate her new life. The only thing she is missing is the spice that she is craving. Lets just say fate works in mysterious ways. I think it was so refreshing that everyone in the story finally got what they were missing. They found comfort in each other but also learned to live with their pasts and embrace a bright future. The author did a fantastic job with developing this short story. She did not leave you missing key pieces and the story was meant to be instaloveish. If you like a good short story with military men who are perfect then this is the story for you.

Thank you to Luna Literary Management for the ALC opportunity! 💙

Yall!!! The only thing I have to say about this one is WOAH! I love a MMF romance as much as the next gal. Make it a military MMF romance and Sign. Me. Up! (Literally. I am here after all). Anyway, this book was Capital H, HOT!!! 🔥🔥🔥 It was spicy and intense in all the ways that made this story perfection. Even with the spice, I loved that we got the message of survivors being able to reclaim their power and make it their own after experiencing terrible circumstances. It's an important message to get out there, and the rep in general for this novella was absolutely wonderful! 🫶

Props to Ash Beverly and Marina Craven for their phenomenal job of bringing Aiden, Casey, and Rory to life via their narration!!! This was an incredibly fun listen, and I would 100% recommend it!

Well someone just turned the temperature up in here 🔥🔥🔥 Preyless is a great book when you want all the spice and a little Preyless follows two Navy Seals in their quest to find a third person for their relationship, enter Rory, who is rebuilding her life after the death of her abusive partner. If you enjoy novellas that start with spicy scenes pretty early on and give you all the details then this is the book for you!

After reading lots of sweet romance book this is exactly what I needed.

C. S Silverne does it again with another amazing dark romance novella! This ripped me right back from the edge of a book slump. I personally would say that this is on the lighter side of dark romance however there are themes that happen that could potentially trigger someone so please check your trigger warnings. The fmc has previously had a horrific relationship and wants to safely have positive new experiences when our mmcs who have felt like they have a missing piece come across her and agree to give her those experiences. This was such a good read and I enjoyed it so much!

This was a fun and spicy novella...but I can't lie, I found myself struggling with parts of this. The story itself wasn't the issue for me; it was more to do with the narration.

Personally, I don't think Marina Craven was the ideal fit for this particular audiobook. She has a genuinely lovely voice, but I felt it sounded quite youthful and innocent, which made it difficult for me to fully connect with some of the more spicy scenes (which is basically 80% of the book), so I found myself distracted at times. That said, I can absolutely see her voice working beautifully for contemporary romances or stories with a softer tone - she would be perfect!

I really enjoyed Ash Beverly's performance, though. His voice felt perfectly suited to Aiden and Casey, and I found myself especially invested in their dynamic - I would have happily read an entire book focused on those two alone, they were so hot!! 🔥

I also noticed some pacing issues with the audiobook via BookFunnel. Regardless of the speed I listened at, it often felt like there wasn't quite enough pause between sentences. At times, the end of one sentence seemed to run straight into the beginning of the next, which disrupted the flow and made it harder for me to settle into the narration. I'm not a super fast listener, but trying to listen from 1.2x to 1.5x speed was rather annoying.

Thank you to Luna Literary and C.S. Silverne for this ALC 🩵

Pleyless by C. S. Silverne is a short dark MMF novella. With dual Narration by Marina Craven and Ash Beverly, Aiden Casey and Rory come alive in a steamy experience, and I suggest you get your toys, partners ready, because you will need them.
Ash Beverly, this man can read me a phone book and a grocery list, and I’ll just drool all over; his distinct voice is immersive and magnificent. He is one of my favourite voices, and for good reason; the man can PERFORM!
Marina, nice to meet you in this book; I am impressed, and I can't wait to hear you in more projects.

Thank you to author for a chance to listen to this book early. This book was so spicy! You definitely want to listen to this in a private area or make sure you control your facial expressions while listening. The two MMCs were so possessive and I loved the power exchange dynamic. As for the narrators, I loved the male narrator but the female narrator was a little too breathy for me and had a bit of a whiny note to her voice. Overall this was a very entertaining and spicy audiobook.

🖤🔥 Two Navy SEALs, one healing heart, and a novella that delivers far more heat than pages. 🔥🖤

Audiobook: 🎧 Dual
Series: Reckless Hearts, Book 1 (interconnected standalone)
HEA: Yes

Preyless by C.S. Silverne is one of those books that knows exactly what it wants to be. Short, spicy, fast-paced, and completely focused on delivering chemistry and fantasy. As a novella, it doesn't have a lot of room to breathe, and unfortunately, that ends up being both its biggest strength and its biggest weakness.

What worked best for me was the dynamic between Rory, Aiden, and Casey. There was plenty of chemistry from the start, and the emotional foundation of Rory finding safety, acceptance, and healing after everything she has endured gave the story a surprisingly tender undercurrent beneath all the heat.

The spice? Absolutely delivers.

If you're picking this up for the relationship dynamics, the MMF romance, and the kink exploration, you'll probably walk away satisfied. The intensity is there from beginning to end, and the story never pretends to be anything other than what it is: a quick, dirty, highly entertaining read.

That said, I couldn't help wishing this had been a full-length novel instead of a novella.

The characters had so much potential. The emotional themes, the healing journey, the found-family elements, and the relationship development all felt like they deserved more page time. Everything moves incredibly fast, which is understandable given the length, but it does make some of the emotional beats feel rushed. The story gives you just enough to become invested and then reaches the finish line before it can fully explore everything it introduces.

🎧 Narration

Performed in dual narration by Ash Beverly and Marina Craven.

Ash Beverly continues to be a narrator I always enjoy listening to. He brought distinct personalities to both Aiden and Casey and did a great job capturing the chemistry and emotional connection between the characters.

Marina Craven was new to me, and she was a pleasant surprise. She brought vulnerability, emotion, and warmth to Rory's character, helping ground the story's more emotional moments.

Together, they created an audiobook experience that felt immersive and elevated the connection between all three characters.

What I Loved

✔️ Strong chemistry between all three main characters
✔️ Plenty of spice and relationship tension
✔️ Healing and emotional recovery themes
✔️ Found family elements
✔️ Dual narration that enhanced the story
✔️ Quick, easy binge-listen

Tropes & Vibes

✔️ MMF Romance
✔️ Polyamorous Relationship
✔️ Navy SEAL Heroes
✔️ Age Gap
✔️ Healing from Trauma
✔️ Found Family
✔️ Protective Heroes
✔️ Primal Play
✔️ Emotional Healing Journey
✔️ Fast-Paced Novella

Final Thoughts

Preyless is a spicy, entertaining novella that delivers exactly what it promises. The chemistry is strong, the narration is excellent, and the emotional core underneath the romance gives the story more substance than you might expect from such a short read.

For me, the biggest issue wasn't what the story contained it was how little time it had to explore it all.

The characters, relationships, and healing journey had the potential to become something truly special with a longer page count. As it stands, this was still an enjoyable read, but one that left me wishing for a full-length version of the story.

And honestly? That's usually a sign there was something worth investing in.

I’m in love. That’s it. That’s the review.

But on a serious note, I have loved the books I have read so far by Silverne. They are smut filled yet still have some bits of story in them to keep their writing interesting. And Preyless has become my favorite of all their stories I’ve read so far.

The story begins with Rory starting life anew after being in a very abusive marriage. But fortunately, her husband dies. Yes you will celebrate his death when you find out the things he did to Rory. So Rory finds a job and settles in a new place to begin her life. But as time goes by, and with her doing therapy, she finds herself wanting to do certain things that her ex-husband made her do, but she wants to do it on her own terms, her own rules. So she joins an app called Preyless and meets not one, but two men that are very interested in her by her profile. And both these men,. Aiden and Casey, they aren't just looking for a fun ride. Oh no, these boyfriends are looking for a permanent third to their relationship. Someone who wants the dark things they also want and to start a family with. And they have their eyes set on Rory.

Now, obviously the smut is delicious! I mean, running in the woods from hot as fuck masked men who are hunting you down, sign me up! But what I love about this entire storyline is that Rory isn’t doing all this because she thinks she is sick or something, she wants to be hunted through the woods and then taken, but on her own terms. The fact the guys took time to plan all this out with Rory over messages, and even showed her their faces and tell her their names before the fun began, shows how much control Rory really has here. And that’s what she wants, to know that in the end, if she chooses to end the fun, she can end it. Not like how her ex husband did to her. She has the power.

And again, Aiden and Casey are rough but damnit they are sweet. Before Rory joins the picture, we get to see their dynamic as well, how they function together and how deeply in love they are for each other. And the epilogue! Ok no spoilers on that, just know that yes, obviously it ends with a happy ending, but omg the details on certain items! So seriously no spoilers!

I enjoyed reading this book, it literally took me a day to get through it because I didn’t want to put it down. And now I’m pouting because fantasyland wise, I want what Rory has with Aiden and Casey!

I devoured this book in under two hours, and honestly that says it all, doesn’t it? Every time I pick up something by C.S. Silverne, I know I’m in for characters that captivate me, stories that hook me and writing that pulls me straight into the world she creates. Preyless was no exception!

From the very first chapter, I was completely absorbed. The deep dive into Rory’s life before meeting her men was raw and emotional. I felt such a strong connection to her and found myself rooting for her every step of the way.

Then came Aiden and Casey. Their introduction was stunning - intense, heartfelt and beautifully written.
The bond between them radiates through both their words and silences, it’s love, devotion and partnership all in one. And when Rory enters their world… everything just clicks. The missing piece finally found.

Nothing ever feels rushed or forced. Everything falls naturally into place, like the universe aligning to bring them together exactly when they needed it most, just three souls who were meant to find each other. The chemistry between the three of them is magnetic, their connection both tender and scorching.

And that epilogue? Perfect. The glimpse into their future felt like a promise fulfilled — the solid, secure love that had been building from the start. Seeing the story through each of their POVs only deepened that sense of devotion and adoration between them.

The epilogue wrapped everything up beautifully, giving us that glimpse of forever that makes your heart ache in the best way. I’ll be thinking about this trio for a long time, and honestly, I wouldn’t complain if we got a full-length novel in this world one day.

Preyless, written by C.S. Silverne and brought to life through dual narration by Marina Craven and Ash Beverly, is a remarkably quick and engaging listen. As a self-proclaimed book goblin who devours stories and rarely rates anything below five stars, this particular audiobook did give me pause, though it still ultimately earned a solid four stars. While the plot is captivating, I found myself connecting much faster to the female protagonist than to the male characters, which occasionally left me feeling a bit lost in the narrative.

That disconnect was slightly amplified by the audio production. I deeply appreciate the immense hard work that voice actors do, but during the female-narrated chapters, I found it difficult to distinguish between the characters' voices.

Despite those minor hurdles, the underlying story is incredibly compelling. It follows Rory Vale, who moves across the country to start over after the unexpected death of her abusive husband. In rebuilding her life, Rory accepts that she is no longer the girl who believes in fairy-tale romance; instead, she discovers a desire to be chased, hunted, and owned. This leads her to two Navy SEALs who are ready to offer her the exact brand of dark devotion she craves, provided she is ready to commit to them—and the family they want to build—forever.

Ultimately, the sheer amount of work and passion poured into bringing Rory’s journey to life makes it well worth the listen, delivering a romance that is as intense as it is transformative.

If you're looking for a quick, spicy MMF romance with plenty of kink and a surprisingly emotional core, Preyless delivered. Rory is rebuilding her life after an abusive marriage when she connects with Aiden and Casey, two Navy SEALs looking for a third to complete their relationship. What starts as intense attraction quickly becomes a story about healing, trust, and finding the people who make you feel safe enough to be yourself.

The audiobook kept me engaged from start to finish, and the duet narration by Marina Craven and Ash Beverly brought the characters and emotions to life beautifully. I will say that it was hard, at times, to distinguish the voices between Aiden and Casey. While the novella length means the relationship develops very quickly, the chemistry between all three characters was undeniable. The story is definitely spice-forward, but I appreciated the underlying themes of recovery, consent, and belonging.

My only complaint is that I wanted more. The characters and their dynamic had so much potential that I would have happily listened to a full-length novel about them. Still, for a short audiobook packed with heat, heart, and healing, this was a fun listen.
