A Queen Forged in Death

Rate this book
She died a queen, to rise a weapon.
Awakened in the Beneath, Lithia learns that her fate has fallen off course and that the shards of Suviel’s dying heart are rotting in hands she once trusted. With Suviel’s very magic unraveling, and the void threatening to consume them all, she must reforge the heart she once failed to protect.
As loyalties blur and trust fractures, Calcas must choose between the grief-driven plans of the woman he never stopped loving and the queen that fate placed on his path. Seren’s vision for a new world is enthralling, but it begins with the end of the old one…and with Lithia's death on her hands.
Through drowning sanctuaries, volcanic ruins, and sacred groves, they must battle ancient magic, murderous creatures, and the looming shadow of Lithia’s unpredictable magic. With each shard, Lithia’s power grows, and so does the risk of losing herself and her mate.
In the end, the magic holding the world together may be the very thing that tears them all apart.

I just want to firstly say thank you to Poppy for letting me have the chance to ARC read.

I’m so proud of you has you have grown more into your writing and how far you have come. I love you, always!

I got so lost into this world and I’m so sad it has come to an end. I loved the characters, the plot line, and the pure dedication of the main FMC and happy she had finally got to do so not alone but along side her mate and the amazing friends/ found family.

I definitely recommend this author and her books to anyone, as they are truly amazing.

what a beautiful duology

Lithia and calcus!!
Wow just wow the pace . I love that it picks up exactly where book one leaves off and moves quickly throughout the book. I can not recommend this book enough if you like a strong FMC and a supporting MMC

What a finale!
This second book comes in hot and doesn’t let up; danger, high stakes, and a wild chase from start to finish. I loved getting a deeper peek into the characters and creatures, and that ending? Bittersweet, but oh so satisfying.
This was such a ride, fast-paced, full of lore, and just plain fun all the way through.
A perfect send-off for the duet!

An epic finish to Lithia’s story. The tension is high and the stakes even higher. It was a honor to be able to read this book both in its earliest drafts and as an arc.

This duet rounds out by taking us on a wild goose chase all the while being hunted by very person both Lithia and Cal used to love. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and Seren would definitely fit that description. I mean seriously, she will stop at nothing to see her vision for the world come to fruition. Aside from that we get to really dive deeper into Lithia and Cal’s connection, spice included *wink wink*. On top of all of that we get introduced to new creatures, fantastic and dangerous alike. Finishing up with a beautiful peek back into the lore that poppy started with in book one.

This book has a special place in my heart and I will always cherish it.

A Queen Forged in Death completes the Forged Queendom duology and was a perfect end to Lithia’s story.

After her death in book one, A Crown Forged in Blood, Lithia, the High Queen of Suviel, finds herself in the Beneath. But it wasn't her time to die yet.

Calcas finds himself without his mate and full of rage for the one who took Lithia from him, his former love, Seren (who Lithia also loved once before).

What follows is all spoilers, so all I'll say is that this story was amazing! The worldbuilding grows from book one, and the characters meet many obstacles to bring down Seren and save Suviel.

I loved this duology and am sad the story has ended. But I know I'll be reading it again in the future!

I loved this duology! I appreciated that this picked up right where book one left off. That being said if it’s been a while or you forget easily you may want to reread before diving in.

“We all crave a softer ending when the truth is sharp,”

The pace of this book just kept going! It held my interest all the way through and I enjoyed the ending which is saying a lot!

“I’m not going anywhere, I’ll stay beside you until the sky crumbles and the mountains fall into the sea.”

Visiting many locations in this book really opened up the world for us, and Roberts did a fantastic job of bringing all those spaces to life. I could even almost see future stories in some of these spaces … that’s how real the writing was.

The characters struggles and emotions were palpable and honestly, satisfying. Haha. I would definitely recommend this duology to other fantasy readers.
