Marriage was supposed to be their shield. Now it’s their battlefield. Nova Travers finally thought she could exhale after saying "I do" to Crew Sanderson, a powerful, dangerous businessman who promised her safety, stability, and a new start for her and her daughter. Their vows weren't just romantic; they were a strategy to keep the past at bay. But peace is fragile in Timberline, where power moves in the shadows and old debts never die quietly. When Nova is violently taken, everything they built threatens to crumble. Crew’s empire, his polished public image, even his claim to being a changed man. He’s willing to torch it all to get her back. He calls in every favor, leverages every dark contact, and makes it clear to the city’s underworld. Nobody takes what’s his and lives to tell it. But rescuing Nova is just the beginning. Old enemies resurface with vendettas of their own. A network of dirty money, corrupt power brokers, and family secrets threaten everything Crew has fought to control. As alliances fracture and blood debts demand payment, Crew and Nova must face not only their enemies but the fear inside themselves. The terror of losing each other, the question of whether love can survive when survival itself isn’t guaranteed. And all the while, there’s Timberly, their daughter, their promise of a future caught in the crosshairs of people who see her as leverage, a bargaining chip in a brutal game. To protect what’s theirs, Crew and Nova will have to stop being who they were and become the monsters their enemies fear. Because in this city, love isn’t soft. It isn’t gentle. It’s savage.
A solid second installment in the series. I was hoping this would be the final book, but I’m still looking forward to book three. I did have some issues with the lack of editing throughout. And Timberly’s chapter felt unrealistic for a 7 year old, but she did what she had to do, lol.
I tried to get into this story but I just couldn’t, it seem to be rushed and all over the place. I really enjoyed the first book more. I’m upset Crew wasn’t taking this seriously, how when you see your ex you freeze up and let her shoot you. Now they’ve got Timberly and Nova.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I was thinking the second book should have just ended. Sabrina still alive I get that but her kidnapping Timberly is crazy. The first book was better..story is just dragging now
Honestly this book is a quick read. Im not sure why I started it on Christmas Eve knowing I was not going to read it through the holidays, lol. A continuation from where we left off in part 1 with Nova being kidnapped. I guess part 2 explained the title a little bit. There were some inconsistent parts that made you go back a reread the paragraph above what you just read. Some new characters seemed to be introduced out of no where. Of course there was smut LOTS AND LOTS of smut! Nova is now pregnant, Kyle and his sister are dead and Crew's ex is alive and running with the bad guys. Crew promises to always protect Nova and Timberly and spoiler he chokes.
I did not see that twist coming—it hit me like a freight train. Crew hasn’t lost a bit of his protector energy; he’s still standing strong for his woman and daughter, loving them with everything he has. Still giving pure BDE, still giving “I’m that guy, don’t play with me.” The Harris family? Whew… beyond twisted. Who in the world sells their own grandchild? That’s not just messed up—that’s sorry, heartless, POS behavior that makes your blood boil. This book had me in my feelings the entire time.
I’m am so mad at Crew that I don’t know what to do. He had one job, and one job only, and he let that moment of a thought process about seeing Sabrina distract him from his mission to protect Nova and Timberly. Sabrina, however, needs her ssa whooped and put in a storage container and shipped overseas somewhere. I can say Sabrina’s was calculated when it came to her know Crew would hesitate when he seen her and she took full advantage of him being distracted. Come on Crew, 👏🏾 Get 👏🏾 It👏🏾 Together👏🏾 please and thank you🤝🏾. I’m actively awaiting book 3.
I know you lying! Like really! He did and said all that and couldn’t keep his word! Now look what happened! He did the one thing they had been hollering and preaching to Timberly never to do! Like bruhhhh I’m over here 38 hot! She done took me through all of that! Just to do me like Thais! All I’m finna say is I hope Nova gives him hell! And she is the one to handle business in the end since he obviously couldn’t do it!
….speachless AGAIN!! I thought part one cliffhanger was stressful. Part two is leaving me in shambles. I don’t even know where to start. I don’t even know if I should start lol what I will say. This book is definitely worth the read and I cannot wait for book number three.
Why are you playing with me? IKYL. You did not leave it like this. I need part 3 immediately. This book had me on the edge of my seat since i sat down. My bae crew is about to turn into a beast.
I am just picky in terms of 5 star ratings but this series has been really good thus far. I am obsessed with Timberly. Again storyline is really nice and kept a steady pace. Definitely worth reading!
I thought part 1 left me with my mouth open!! Part 2 have spiked my blood pressure!! I dont wanna say why I dont wanna spoil it but just know you'll be shocked, happy, mad and pissed all in a matter of minutes!! Cant wait for part 3 im fully invested
Wow! This book just keeps getting better! They finally captured my favorite character, Timberly, and I need Crew and his team to take drastic action to rescue her! Those despicable individuals need to be stopped! I can't wait to read the next installment!
This was a nice continuation. Eager to see what happens in part 3. Crew froze up when he seen Sabrina and he should’ve moved spaces and upped his security.
Only didn’t give this a five because of some grammatical stuff that I couldn’t let go of. I can’t believe I have to wait to see how the rest unfolds. Writing is good!
