Rate this book
Finally coming home from a ten-year bid, Cupid Freeman is trying to readjust to the real world. However, bunking with his older sister isn’t going so well. With a petty husband setting out to intentionally make him uncomfortable, Cupid’s back is against the wall. But when he’s introduced to the beautiful Milli, she helps him in a way he could only pray for.

Amillia “Milli” Warner is the owner of A Milli Properties & Leasing. A natural, big-boned beauty with an even more beautiful soul to match, she’s a blessing to everyone she meets. Be that as may, behind closed doors, Milli is suffering in silence. Married to a toxic, narcissistic, demon, she’s fighting for her life; literally.

In need of a maintenance man for her properties, Milli is introduced to Cupid. Fine, smooth and charismatic, he immediately piques her interest, causing Milli to hire him on the spot. Not only that, but she also gives him a place to stay in one of her vacant units.

As Amillia’s new employee and next-door neighbor, the two develop a bond like no other. However, when Cupid gets wind of her abuse, he refuses to sit on the sidelines and watch – Especially when he’s developed deep feelings for the beauty.

In this emotional mess of a standalone, hearts are broken, and secrets are exposed. However, when you have Cupid in human form, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. Take a ride with the beautiful Milli as she gets Saved by Cupid!

Someone once said if they have BBW in the title just skip it lmao and I’m beginning to see the truth in this. While I applaud the use of trigger warnings I really want to know why we needed all those graphic scenes? Then to not mention no mental health services NOTHINGGGG just love and life after suffering for years like I get it’s fiction but huhhhh??? This didn’t give the warm and fuzzy at all by the end as a reader you just sitting there like well that’s one way to end things

This book here had me on the edge of my seat. Milli was going through it with Rufus. Not only did this man have a hands problem, but he was hiding some really terrible secrets. Milli better than me because ain't no way I would've put up with his mess. I understood why she stayed so long because she felt he was all she had, but sis definitely deserved better.

Enters Cupid, who shows Milli what a real man is. He was all man and stood ten toes down behind his family. I liked how when he ran into Jada, he didn't treat her any differently than he always did. His relationship with his mom and sister was pure perfection. Now, when it came to Milli, he didn't play about her. He was ready to go at Rufus from the jump.

Reading everything Milli went through and eventually getting loved correctly was chefs kiss. The author weaved an entertaining story of betrayal, abuse, survival, and knowing your worth.

Yes! Come on Cupid!

Milli should have known Rufus was no good with that kinda name. She should have dropped him the first time he showed his true colors. I was hoping Cupid made it official and married his true love because they were a couple at first sight. Stan was a stand up guy and his feelings were valid but misplaced. Big sis was standing 10 toes down for her baby brother against anybody 😍

Stand your ground!!

This was a great read. I’m glad Millie found her backbone even though Cupid came in and scooped her up. 😁

The End

First time reading this author and I'm impressed with the storyline. Very realistic with character development. Won't be the last time reading one of her book.

Soo Good

Even though she stayed with Rufus a little too long I am glad she finally left. Cupid was very patient and understanding. I want to know more about Amanda’s journey.

I enjoyed reading this book even though Milli was too weak in my opinion. Milli should have immediately checked their joint account when she found that cráck pipe and knew that something wasn’t right with him when all he wanted was anal. I like the fact that trigger warnings were given at the beginning of the book. I gave this book three stars, even though I enjoyed it, because I felt like the book was incomplete in my opinion. Like who unalived Cupid’s wife and unborn daughter? Did the woman he was cheating with have something to do with them being unalived? Who was the man Janet was heard arguing with on the 911 call? What did Janet’s parents do to Cupid for him to state he would never have anything to do with them again? Also what did Cupid and Milli name the twins and why would they move into a two bedroom townhouse instead of a house with twins on the way? On another note….I can’t wait for the wedding edition to drop❤️❤️

Didn’t Care For This Read

This book was profoundly impactful, albeit heartbreaking, and it's essential to acknowledge that Milli's situation was complex, as she made choices that led her to stay in a difficult situation, locked in an apartment. Her decision to stay and endure Rufus's abusive narcissistic behavior for as long as she did is a story worth exploring. I wish to approach it with compassion and understanding, recognizing that her journey was multifaceted. Unfortunately, the book's narrative didn't captivate me as much as I had hoped, and I found it a struggle to continue reading, only managing to reach 54% before it gave me a headache.

Here’s a polished and more cohesive rewrite of your review while keeping your original opinions intact:

Review of Saved by Cupid

Milli felt a bit too soft when dealing with Rufus, but she showed much more backbone whenever Cupid was involved. Rufus came across as completely narcissistic, which made his interactions frustrating at times. Cupid’s storyline left me unsettled, especially the unresolved situation with his wife, which felt like a missing piece the book never addressed. In the end, Amanda stood out the most; she seemed sharper and more grounded than everyone around her even though she was going throough her situation.

This was okay, but I wanted more Cupid & Milli. We spent so much time with Milli & Rufus and all of Rufus bullshit that the buildup between Cupid & Milli wasn’t enough. I could tell they had a crush on each other, but I didn’t feel the love between them. Everything moved so fast with them that there wasn’t time to really see them happy & actually in a relationship.

Milli deserved to get some serious get back on Rufus. What happened to him was absolutely not enough for all of the bs he put Milli & Jada through. Milli should have went upside his head, hit em with a car or sum 😅

The potential was there, however I think the execution was lacking.

It was a good book but.....
I enjoyed a book that took place in my hometown and had included a bbw. Millie had to know Rufus (ughhh ugly name for an ugly soul) was cheating and stealing, come on! Cupid was sweet and protective. I think Millie needed some time to heal and get some therapy after all that before jumping in another relationship. Other than that, I was making a drinking game out of how many times the writer used "chortle", it drove me crazy. Nobody laughs, snickers, chuckle, or chortle that much in every day conversations. Otherwise, good quick read. Enjoy!

yesss

I can’t believe Rufus done that to milli she definitely deserves much better than that.. so Rufus can hit a woman but not a real man? Rufus got exactly what he deserves and then so but he got his dang karma for putting his hands on milli and Jada I loved all the characters in this book except for Rufus putting his hand la on women and smoking crack o.m.g I love cupid for milli they make an amazing couple and will be an even amazing parents I really enjoyed this book

I’ma be honest… this one’s a 2.5 ⭐️. I could not get with the MMC’s name - CUPID -and he just felt soft the whole time. 😒 The FMC- Milli? Got on my nerves, and that whole husband situation dragged forever. Then the ending felt rushed once they finally got together. The sister’s issue felt unnecessary. Idk… it had the potential to be amazing, but it just didn’t land for me.

Denial is a River in Egypt

This book was good…. Like it was good good.
Millie went through it child. Like I wish she knew her worth at the beginning. It was so sad what happened to Cupid, I’m glad he was released from jail and able to have a fresh start. This book was goood. Chuck and Rufus in Puerto Rico on Millie’s dime was wild.

A light at the end of a tunnel

Sadly this happens to a lot of women. Abuse is never good in any relationship but ignoring the signs had me upset a bit. However, Rufus got to be where he needed to be in the end. This man was beyond terrible but I'm glad Milli found someone to love the way she deserved.
