This is a very enjoyable read of an English Canadian couple who leave Toronto in search of a warmer climate and cultural change by moving to the South of France. They end up renting a gite on a long-term basis that is owned by a local wine maker in the village of Gigondas in the Vaucluse region of Provence. The book chronicles their interactions with locals and the evolution of their own relationship. It’s a heart-felt tale of life in rural France back in the 1970’s.
You know ... I bought the book because it had Provence in the title ... I would be surprised if it is still around, except in my closet somewhere. The book was okay - two free spirits (this was back in the early hippie days of the 70's) tripping through Provence.
