SAMANTHA'S life could be different but all of her role models are prostitutes, drug dealers, gang-bangers, and drug addicts. She does not look up to anyone but her mother, ANGEL, and her aunts are her first teachers. All of them are drug addicted prostitutes. Their professions disgust Samantha but she finds herself turning a trick when her mother steals the school clothes, shoes and supplies that her boyfriend buys her for school. When Samantha's boyfriend finds out about her tricking off, he spreads a rumor about her in the Ickes Housing Projects that they live in. It is so vicious that Angel moves her kids to the Westside of Chicago.
