Forbidden workplace romance, age-gap hockey heat with a driven coach, fierce female executive, and the secret relationship that could cost them everything!

Liam Donovan has one shot to prove himself as the new head coach of the Boston Titans. After a career-ending knee injury derailed his playing days, coaching is his last chance to leave his mark on the game he loves. His absolute focus on turning the struggling team around. His Emma Sullivan.

Smart, determined, and frustratingly off-limits, Emma is the owner's daughter with her own point to prove. Armed with a Harvard MBA and a lifetime of hockey knowledge, she's fighting to be seen as more than just a nepotism hire in the family business.

When they're forced to work together on community initiatives, their professional respect quickly evolves into an attraction neither can deny. One late-night strategy session ends with a kiss that threatens everything they've worked for.

As the team starts winning and their secret relationship deepens, a rival executive discovers their forbidden romance and threatens to expose them—jeopardizing Liam's dream job and Emma's chance to prove herself beyond her family name.

With the playoffs in reach and their hearts on the line, they must decide what matters the careers they've fought for or the love neither saw coming.

PUCKING THE BOSS'S DAUGHTER is book 1 in the Boston Titans Hockey Series, but can be enjoyed as a complete standalone. I’m new to hockey romances, but I can say I enjoyed this one. The dynamics between the FMC and MMC were filled with the perfect amount of angst. There’s a lot of story building and explanation. This got 4 stars from me because it feels like it could have been cut down by a lot if our main characters hadn’t repeatedly gone over their feelings. In real life that’s what anxiety and stress does to us though.

Feeling real with that just out of reach life, would recommend.

MF, age gap, hockey, work romance, secret relationship, and more!
The story moved pretty quickly, so it easily kept my interest.
There was drama, emotional moments, some humor, and steam.

I really liked Liam and Emma, as individuals and together.
Both were smart, hard working, and determined.
I enjoyed seeing their relationship evolve. The angst was perfect, the banter, the spice, and love.

The owner's daughter was supposed to be OFF-LIMITS, but some rules were meant to be broken- especially when breaking them feels this right. New chapter, new chances, the same passion"

Pucking the Boss’s Daughter by Fallon Ashby is everything I love in a steamy hockey romance—fast-paced, addictive, and packed with tension that crackles off the page. From the very first chapter, the chemistry between Emma and Liam is undeniable. Fallon Ashby does an incredible job blending forbidden attraction, sports drama, and heartfelt emotion into a story that’s both sexy and surprisingly tender.

Emma isn’t just the “boss’s daughter”—she’s smart, ambitious, and determined to prove herself outside of her father’s shadow. Liam, on the other hand, is a coach with a reputation to protect, torn between responsibility and desire. Their push-and-pull dynamic kept me hooked, and the stolen moments, banter, and inevitable collisions made the payoff oh-so satisfying.

The writing is smooth and engaging, with just the right balance of humor, angst, and spice. I particularly loved the way the hockey world was woven in without overpowering the romance. If anything, there were a few moments I wished slowed down a touch to let the emotional beats breathe—but that’s only because I wasn’t ready to let go of these characters.

If you’re a fan of forbidden romance, sports romance, or just love your love stories with heat and heart, Pucking the Boss’s Daughter deserves a spot on your TBR. Fallon Ashby has crafted a binge-worthy read that left me grinning, swooning, and immediately wanting more.

After moving back to Boston to coach for the team he played on when his hockey career ended, Liam Donovan meets Emma Sullivan.

Emma Sullivan is a strong independent woman, working hard to prove she’s not just her last name. She lives up to the Sullivan legacy, while creating her own.

Liam and Emma work together to help the team get back on their… skates. Their close working relationship quickly turns into a secret romantic relationship.

I won’t lie, I really didn’t care for Liam’s character in the prequel. He was a cocky man obsessed with hockey. “Hockey comes first.” There wasn’t room for anything else. Seeing Liam grow and mature as an individual, and a partner, was amazing!

I really enjoyed watching Liam and Emma find each other. They compliment each other on, and off the ice. The hockey drama was excellent, the spice was spicin’ 🌶️ and the love was heartfelt. And I’m a sucker for fun little surprises! ☺️

This book was really good. It was fast paced with a ton of great banter and some angst thrown in. I really enjoyed this book because the team dynamics from the hockey team was worked into the story really well and had issues that became something that was very relatable to real life. I have never read a hockey romance before with such amazing detail to the game. Emma is, regardless of her young age, a FMC that is strong, driven, stubborn and an important key player in her job. Liam became the MMC that was sweet yet stubborn and often made decisions that made me as a reader want to shake my head at him. The author definitely knew what they were doing when they wrote Liam and Emma's story! It had an amazing pace with the perfect amount of dialogue to spicy scene ratio in my opinion. Another key part of the book that made it that much better was the team itself. Beck, Noah, Tyler, Brandon... all of these guys really became an extended family for both Emma and Liam and it was evident throughout the book. I don't think there would be the same feel to the book without these characters.
I think if anyone enjoys a good hockey romance, they should pick up this book or add it to their TBR!

rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 rounded up
spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

This was such a captivating read — I was glued to the pages from the very start.

The romance develops quite fast, but it doesn’t feel rushed. There’s plenty of angst and yearning throughout the story, and those forbidden undertones were so intense I could feel the weight of every choice Emma and Liam made. Their connection felt passionate yet grounded, and I loved how the author didn’t shy away from showing the real-life consequences of breaking the rules.

The sports side of the story was really strong, too. The hockey backdrop added a layer of authenticity that balanced the emotional tension perfectly, giving readers moments to breathe between all that delicious forbidden heat.

There’s a lot of spice, yes — but also a lot of heart, ambition, and hard choices. No easy fixes, no fairytales, just two people trying to figure out love and career in a world that doesn’t make it simple.

It honestly felt like watching something real, and now I can’t wait to see what comes next in the Boston Titans series.

Liam has been struggling to find himself. He defines himself as hockey. A captain for the Titans until an injury takes his chances away. A long line of coaching jobs in the minors just trying to hold on. Now he’s been hired as the new coach for the Titans, a team that keeps losing more and more over the last five years. He brings a new perspective to the players, trying to make them a team and family. It’s starting to work.

Emma is the owner’s daughter but also an executive with the team. She’s trying to bring the team into the community and make them more visible. As these plans evolve and the players buy into the programs, something is evolving with Liam and Emma.

The challenges are great and everyday they have more to lose. The story line keeps moving and gives you hope that all will work out.

Hockey, age gap, strong/independent FMC, forbidden/workplace romance, and a MMC who's essentially on his redemption/rebuilding journey.

There was tension, angst, the classic "f*ck it" moment, the perfect amount of spice, and truly relatable characters. There are a few stressful, heartbreaking moments and you will feel all the feels, but it's completely worth it! The chemistry between Liam and Emma is undeniable and their relationship felt well-developed and not rushed at all. The side characters are great and written in a way that you feel like you are right in the room with them.

I can't wait to read the next book and see what the story is with Beck and Harper!

okay, I've tried but I just can't get into hockey romances. while the story was good overall it's just not for me. it didn't grab me. it felt repetitive with so many other hockey romances.
the characters were great. the description of them was very well written. so in that regard, I liked it. I love a book with great visual ability, and this book did have that. that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. the author did an excellent job at the story and character development. so absolutely NOTHING against them. hockey just isn't my thing (I realize that now), so o I'll just stick with a different kind of romance.

A brand new series from Fallon Ashby, the Boston Titans Hockey Series, comes Pucking the Boss’s Daughter. I loved this book, the FMC and MMC were just so great right from the start. The MMC heads back to his former team to take over as the coach, desperate for a winning season to cement his place in the coaching arena, Liam is determined to bring the team together. Enter Emma - strong, smart, determined to prove she earned her place on the executive team. The attraction is steamy, the looks smolder, their kisses scorch.

The age-gap romance is a wonderful, fast paced read, and a perfect intro to Fallon Ashby if you’ve never read her work.

This was such a fun story. I don't typically enjoy stories with this type of dynamics, but it really worked. I really enjoyed how they matched each other's kind of nutty and they complemented each other so well. It was a really believable relationship. I am really interested to read more from this series.

Pucking the Boss's daughter is an extension of the prequel (novella). We continue the story of Liam but now.. he is starting his journey as a coach. He has doubts and Emma is rolling into his sights when he needs to be focused on hockey. But can he have both? Before his ex-wife didn't completely understand the fact that hockey wasn't just a job to him.

Emma comes in.. like a hurricane. She is smart, sassy, and beautiful. The whole package really AND she understands hockey in a way that keeps Liam in awe of her. These two bring the heat and passion beyond the frozen aquarium.

I really enjoyed the banter, character development from our MMC Liam from the previous book to this one. & Emma is the perfect person to take care of Liam's heart.

Thank you to the author and House of King Publishing for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Overall I really enjoyed it. There were parts where it just felt a little slow. The chemistry between characters was fantastic as well as the emotional front. Felt like it was a natural progression with falling in love, didn't feel forced or fast. I loved all the breakdown info at the front of the novel with rules and info. Really nice touch for those who don't quite know the ins and outs of ice hockey. Looking forward to book two.
