We picked this book because it was written by a man who had worked on the Richmond shipways that produced hundreds of the Liberty ships much like the one we volunteer on in SF. It was interesting in that it described the work men and women did to turn these ships out in less and less time (from months to days as the process was streamlined). It had a WWI soap-opera feel sometimes and sometimes the writing was awkward. But we did get a feel about the industry and the people involved.
