What Is Love’s Landscapes?
The Goodreads M/M Romance Group invited members to choose a photo and pen a letter asking for a short M/M romance story inspired by the image; authors from the group were then encouraged to select a letter and write an original tale. The result was an outpouring of creativity that shone a spotlight on the special bond between M/M romance writers and the people who love what they produce.
210 stories were submitted and have now been published as a seventeen volume set with five additional bonus volumes, titled Love’s Landscapes. This edition is Volume 4.
The stories in this collection may contain sexually explicit content and are intended for adult readers. They may contain content that is disagreeable or distressing to some readers. The M/M Romance Group strongly recommends that each reader review the General Information section before each story for story tags as well as for content warnings.

CARTE BLANCHE by Nash Summers - 20,259 words, 21.01.19, 4(?) stars
THE CASE OF THE INSUFFERABLE SLAVE by Gillian St. Kevern - 39,690 words, 02.05.21, 4 stars, 2h 13min It took me nearly the whole story to kinda understand the world building. Slaves (of any color, age or gender) are an integral part in this American post-civil-war society in a way I found rather confusing. However, the writing, the plot and the characters (who were also confusing) made up for it and I really liked this story. A dick who gets a slave forced upon him and has to solve a mystery about two sisters and a crime boss. But you know, slavery, so trigger warning: dubious consent and people treated like objects.
COMING OUT OF THE STORM by Laura Mathews - 10,798 words, 27.04.21, 0h 38min, 4 stars This story was really good for such a short length. I connected to both characters. War veterans and best friends since their teenage years, having not seen each other for a few months since a bomb exploded, taking a comrad's life and the legs of one of them.
Overall, I really liked this anthology, though not as much as some of the other volumes. That being said, there were some great standout stories in this one. My favorites included "The Case of the Insufferable Slave" by Gillian St. Kevern, which was a really interesting story with a nice bit of humor. I wasn't sure I followed the whole thing, but it was still fun. I also really liked "Cataclysmic Evolution" by Alicia Nordwell. This story was a terrific surprise. I wasn't certain I'd like it at first, but then it took a turn I never saw coming and locked me in with plot twists that had me guessing right up to the end. It was fantastic.
