Not another domineering man!

Christie Daniels had left her old life far behind. She'd finally realized her dream of opening a small bed and breakfast in New Mexico. Her father didn't approve, but then he never approved of anything his daughter did.

He even went so far as to send an emissary — Matt Gallagher, another hardheaded, overbearing, big-city stockbroker — to bring her back. Well, she'd had enough of men like that.

If only Matt weren't so darned attractive — so charming. But maybe he'd have such a good time in New Mexico he'd want to stay. Yes, maybe Christie could change his mind — because he wasn't going to change hers!

Two Against Love by Ellen James is the story of Christie Daniels and Matt Gallagher.

Christie used to work as a stockbroker at her father's company in New York until she left her old life behind, moved to New Mexico and opened a bed and breakfast. She hated her job even though she was very good at it. Her father doesn't approve of her new life choices. They've always had a difficult relationship. Christie has always tried to do everything to please him, but she feels he doesn't love her or appreciate her. Because Christie left , her father decided to dissolve the company and he sends Matt, to give her some papers she needs to sign for him to be able to do that. Matt took Christie's old job after she left. He lost his company after his last partner was caught doing illegal stuff and is now starting all over again. He's disillusioned in the finance industry and angry at Christie. He wants her to come back and convince her father to keep the company.

I've enjoyed Two Against Love more than I thought I would. Christie's situation and problems, completely changing her life, doing what she thinks is good for her and not knowing how to communicate with a parent, were relatable and sympathetic. I liked how the hero and heroine discovered things they didn't know about themselves and learned things from each other. This helped them take better decisions to improve their lives. I think the author wrapped up the book very neatly.
