Delusions spiral toward disaster in Almost Rotten, the second book in the new dark, why choose, college hockey romance series from bestselling author Abby Millsaps.

He called me his wife.

My brother’s best friend and star hockey defenseman Tytus Tremblay stood in front of the Dean, declared we’re married, and bullied the man into bending to his will.

To Ty’s credit, it worked. My job is safe. The Dean has no idea who else was in the video with me.

But as the reality of the situation sinks in, I realize just how instrumental Tytus was in orchestrating this nightmare.

He’s delusional.

Tytus and I aren’t married, even though I used to dream about a future with him. That was before I met Mercer and Noah and allowed myself to fall for two older men.

Embarrassingly, when we’re locked away in my dorm, I give in to Ty’s delusions. I can’t help but push the limits, catapulting us toward his fantasies.

Now I’m torn between three men, so agonizingly confused I feel myself starting to slip away.

When Ty casually calls me his wife in front of his professional hockey team, I break.

I can’t go on like this. I can’t keep playing this game.

Every version of the future I dreamed of is slipping between my fingers. Irrevocable damage has been done, and I’m afraid nothing will ever be the same again.

Abby Millsaps is an author and storyteller who's been obsessed with writing romance since middle school. In eighth grade, she failed to qualify for the Power of the Pen State Championships because all her submissions contained the same theme: young people falling in love. #LookAtHerNow

She's best known for writing unapologetically angsty romance that causes emotional damage for her readers. Abby prides herself in writing authentic characters while weaving mental health, chronic illness, and neurodiverse representation into the fabric of her stories.

Abby met her husband at a house party the summer before her freshman year of college. He had a secret pizza stashed in the trunk of his car that he was saving for a midnight snack—how was she supposed to resist that level of golden retriever energy and preparedness? When Abby isn't writing, she's reading, traveling, and raising her three daughters.

Sawyer Davvies believes long-time friend and crush, Tytus Tremblay is there in the dean’s office with her to help her out of a jam. So, when he calls her his “wife,” she goes with it. However, Ty has found a way to use the situation to his advantage, manipulating her into a relationship.

When Ty goes next-level unhinged, it’s not only perplexing, but it’s also threatening to her budding relationships with Professor Mercer Eden and Noah Henry.

Unable to stand idly by, Mercer crafts a plan to take away Ty’s leverage over Sawyer. But it blows up in his face spectacularly just before we get to “The end.“

Gah dayum!! As sweet as Ty was in book one, he did a 180 going full nuclear unhinged, no fucks to give, territorial alphahole in this installment. And I am not mad about it. I was not at all ready for that cliffy though!!

I was unprepared for the rollercoster of emotions this book made me feel. I think I felt just about every emotion possible at some point in this book.

This book picks right back up at the cliffhanger from book one. I was so excited for this book going into it because I was soo ready for Ty's story, but man did I question my love of him 1000 times while reading this. I wanted to punch him in the face and throw my kindle at him all while simultaneously wanting to wrap him in a hug because of his past and all his trauma. Despite his questionable behavior, Ty and Sawyer has undeniable chemistry. He will definitely need some redemption, but I'm still rooting for them to figure things out.

Following through in book two, Noah is the absolute sweetest and must be protected at all costs. I can confidently say he is my favorite man in this series and I don't see that changing. His hurt in this book destroyed me a little but he was never going to give up on Sawyer and I love that. Mercer on the other hand had me wanting to punch him too a little. I still love him but dang. His own past and trauma play a big role in his behavior too, but he also makes some seriously questionable decisions.

This is very much Ty's book and Ty's story, but I love that we still get Noah and Mercer throughout. I'm crossing my fingers that these three will work it out with Sawyer and get their HEA in book three. That cliffhanger though... ABBY!!! Rough, really rough and that's all I will say about it.

Definitely check your trigger warnings before diving into this book! Don't forget to strap yourself in for this rollercoster of a book, you're going to need it.

All I feel is pain after reading this book. It was angsty as hell and I was screaming at Tytus the whole time.

We’re back with Sawyer and her guys and after the cliffhanger of the first book I was quite literally dying wondering how this was all gonna play out in book 2. All I can is it’s an emotional journey, one that will break your heart and just leave it in pieces.

I have so many mixed feelings about Tytus, one minute I hated him and the next I felt so sorry for him. In his own twisted way he’s just trying to stop himself from losing Sawyer but he does fuck it all up massively.

My heart broke for Mercer and Noah as well. They are quite clearly in love with Sawyer and this whole situation has left them wondering if Sawyer was ever really meant to be theirs.

Sawyer was basically in a losing battle this whole time. The trauma bond runs deep with Tytus and in her mind they never got their timing right, whereas Ty was willing to wait for her quite literally forever it seems. Although he has messed up and seems unredeemable they will never be able to move on from each other. So where does this leave Mercer and Noah 🥺 my sweet baby’s who deserve the world.

Once again Abby has managed to twist my emotions so I don’t know where they start or end and I’m just gonna thank her for it 😂 This series is consuming me entirely and I just keep repeating “it will all be ok in the end”.

Warning! This book does end on a cliffhanger.

Thank you to Abby for the ARC.

I don’t even know how to review this book because

A. This one of the most shocking cliffhangers I’ve ever read and

B. It was one of my favorite cliffhangers I’ve ever read.

I swear only Abby MIllsaps could put me through this kind of emotional trauma and have me begging for more.

Sawyer and her men are just living rent free in my head. You need to read this. If you like why choose, and an emotional rollercoaster you absolutely need to read this.

3.5 rounded down. I get that this is labeled as dark t romance but even in dark romance the characters should have redeeming qualities. Ty really does not. I get that he has issues but he is awful from beginning to end. Mercer and Noah are fighting for her and caring about her and protecting her, Ty is only thinking about himself. The entirety of the “you slept with other people? Lie to me” plot point was terrible. Am I going to read the last one? Obviously. Am I going to be annoyed? Most likely.

Wow… what a follow-up. I was staring at a wall after finishing Almost Ravaged. I had no idea how Abby was going to spin that ending. I was genuinely terrified... but book two, Almost Rotten, delivered in a way I absolutely did not expect. I am obsessed with this trilogy. I originally picked up Almost Ravaged for the fall vibes and the why-choose energy, but it’s become so much more. I cried twice. TWICE. In a dark romance, why-choose book! That is crazy TBH.

Possible spoilers ahead—read with caution.

We pick up right where we left off, with our poor boy Tytus and his absolutely unhinged announcement after Sawyer is caught red-handed in the dean’s office. He’s part savior, part obsessed man who sees his opening, forcing our girl into bowing to his delusions. And let me be 100% honest: this man is delusional. I went from laughing at his madness to being genuinely concerned, and then to feeling downright sad. Sawyer and Tytus’s relationship runs so deep, built on trauma, pain, and a twisted dependence. Is it healthy? No. Is it vital to their survival as people? Yes. Their bond is so complex it feels like watching a car crash in slow motion… and I loved every second.

Our other two men, however, are not enjoying this new development. Mercer, our dominant daddy, older-professor hottie, is ready to end Tytus for his actions. And Noah (Bee Daddy), our sweet softie, is trying to stand by his best friend while also trying to understand the new love he’s found with Sawyer. To call these relationships complicated would be an understatement. Also, the spicy is just top-tier.

I was stressed, sad, frustrated, and on the edge of my seat the whole time—and I loved every moment.

But THAT ENDING… how am I supposed to wait after the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers?! I have full faith in Abby because her writing is phenomenal, but damn, am I stressed. I cannot wait for Almost Ruined.

THIS SHIT WAS FUCKING CRAZYYY

ok so we all know ty sent the dean the revenge porn of sawyer and mercer, and then he was like oh that was me and she’s my wife. so now hes in deep psychosis and i mean DEEP psychosis truly believing shes his wife. she kind lets him have his way for a week, much to mercer’s dismay. during that week, ty stays at sawyers dorm room every night and guess what they hu. no sex but like still??? and then after that week shes like hey this isnt working you’re delusional even though i was definitely letting you finger me last night but we cant do that anymore, but ty had already told these hockey people that she was his wife, so she still is lowk obligated to play pretend with him because she cares about his career, but hes going off the rails. she runs back to mercer and noah and is like btw i wasn’t faithful but both of them are hella chill about it and are like “so long as youre ours” and ofc sawyer is like “ya im yours” but this girl cannot be trusted. ty is lowk flipping is shit and then threatens to send the video to the dean and other people in class, so mercer is like we gotta corner him at the orchard event and delete everything off his phone and kinda rough him up a little. so the event comes around, just two days after ty got super injured at the football game and made sawyer take him to the hospital instead of leaving with mercer like she was supposed to, mercer and noah trap ty in the bar and grab his phone and then shove him in a shed type thing thats made of metal and ty actually loses it because hello his father used to lock him in a dog cage when he was little, so ty tweaks out and boom sawyer shows up and is like “what the fuck are yall doing” and then noah and mercer couldn’t get him out but finally they do and hes kinda unconscious and bleeding a lot so someone calls 911 ig and sawyer looks at mercer and says she’ll never forgive him which valid but also babygirl u have done multiple unforgivable things in my most humble opinion.

sawyer continues to PISS ME OFF. what do you mean you can cheat on your boyfriends and get away with it??? what do you mean you can get with ty for funsies knowing damn well he’s experiencing a psychotic episode and then you’re just going to dip on him??? she’s a shitty person, but throws a “i want to know about you but only if you’re comfortable” “how can i support you” out once in a while and thinks that makes her a good person. WRONG. SEEK HELP. and matter of fact you go be with ty and leave mercer and noah ALONE.

i genuinely have no clue how this series is going to end but i hope sawyer suffers lol

Like all of Abby’s books, I could not put it down. This is definitely a darker series from Abby and i have really enjoyed it so far.

I’m still in shock over this book and it’s living rent free in my head.

At this point we all know the drill, if Abby writes it, I’m going to read it. And if it’s not the last book I’m going to scream at the ending (iykyk).

Picking up immediately after book one and the bold statement Ty makes in the Dean’s Office, Hunter is now feeling like she’s being torn in two. between the man she’s always cared for and the professor and bee daddy she’s exploring new things with.

You cannot read out of order and no matter how much I tried to prepare myself for that cliffhanger, I wasn’t ready.

Without giving a ton away, this was sooooo angst filled and there were so many mess ups from Ty that I wanted to throw my phone quite a few times. Buckle up cause this is a wild ride...This book mostly focuses on Ty, but it was still good to see things building between Sawyer & Mercer & Noah. Though now im all up in arms about how those relationship will pan out based on that cliffy! I absolutely need the third book asap

Book 2 in the men of ever crisp orchard series

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️What did I just read? Literally me the entire second half of this book! I was screaming inside and wanted to chuck my kindle across the room! This book is deep into a very messy, emotional, “why choose” dynamic. But I ate every bit of it up and left no crumbs! I felt all the emotions with these characters!

Ty…this man..I was screaming at him one min, wanting to throw him into therapy the next and then there were times I felt for him..but he was chaos.

Mercer..this man was sin in a suit and omg🥵Then there’s Noah..He stole my heart from the beginning and I needed more from him! Chaos? Yes. Dramatic? Yes. Messy? Yes. But I could not stop reading it!

And that ending?!! Abby left us hanging again with that cliffhanger😱I need answers, therapy and book 3 asap!

Where do I even begin?!?!? Ty, Sawyer, Noah and Mercer will have you wanting more through out this whole book. My anxiety was on high alert the whole time! It was like the first hill of a roller coaster, but the fall side, not the climb. It was a spiral of emotions, and in perfect Abby fashion, she's got me questioning EVERYTHING! We start feeling one way, and she leaves us in a whole other type of way. CANNOT wait for book 3, I need my heart to be put back together. Be sure to read the trigger warnings. I'm not gonna lie, this one is a hard one (in the BEST way), so please read the warnings. Then buckle up and grab onto your oh $HIT bar and hold on. These boys are gonna ruin you 💚💛💚💛💚

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Three Stars

Almost Rotten was another solid three star read for me. I had pretty much the same feelings about this book that I had about the first one. It was enjoyable enough to keep me reading, but it still did not feel incredibly original and it left me wanting a bit more.

I will say the ending was something else. It was the kind of cliffhanger that makes you sit up straight and blink a few times. It absolutely left me wanting more, and that alone guaranteed that I will keep going with the series.

Even though it is not the best thing I have ever read, and even though I might sound a little harsh, I am invested enough in the story and the characters to continue. I will definitely be picking up the next book once it comes out.

2nd Book in Series + Age Gap Reverse Harem + Messy Conflict + Cliffhanger Ending

I was so excited to get to this one but unfortunately the FMC was just too whiny for me. She acted like a teenager. Also the way Noah kept saying “honey” was giving me creepy grandpa vibes. I just didn’t feel the connection between the characters in this one as much as I did in the first book and it fell flat for me.

Okay, things definitely got soooooo messy in this one, and I was eating it up! I don't want to spoil anything since this is book two, but one hero gets a bit unhinged causing the heroine to pull away from two of the other heroes. I do wish she would have just asked the other two heroes for help (I wanted so much more page time with them), but the desperation they felt that led to that ending!? I need book three now!!!

Abby Millsaps has once again proven why she reigns supreme when it comes to cliffhangers. Just when I thought I’d recovered from the ending of Book 1, she hits us with another finale that left me screaming for Book 3. This sequel picks up right where we left off, continuing Sawyer’s tangled journey with the three men who shape her world. Tytus, Mercer, and Noah.

From the very first chapter, the emotional tension is relentless. Tytus and Sawyer’s connection is as magnetic as it is painful, and watching Tytus unravel as Sawyer’s feelings for Mercer and Noah deepen is absolutely gut-wrenching. Sawyer is torn in opposite directions, and the choices she faces could shatter everything she’s built with all three of them. Abby’s gift for creating layered, deeply flawed characters shines here, each decision feels raw, human, and impossible to look away from.

This book comes with heavy emotional content, so definitely check the trigger warnings first. That said, the mental health representation is handled with honesty and care, something Abby always excels at. While this story primarily centers on Tytus, his trauma, his spiral, and his desperate attempts to hold on, we still see plenty of Mercer and Noah, whose contrasting personalities and unwavering devotion to Sawyer bring balance to the chaos and heartache.

Tytus is a complex storm of a character. There were moments I loathed him, moments I pitied him, and by the end, I just wanted to wrap him in a hug. Sawyer’s bond with him runs deep, but her love for Mercer and Noah is just as powerful, leaving her constantly torn between healing and heartbreak. The emotional push and pull is relentless…..and completely addictive.

And that ending was brutal, and now I need the healing and hope that Abby always creates for her cohorts in the finale, and I can’t wait for the bliss after all the trauma and pain. But I know, as always, there is still more drama to come before the HEA. NEED IT NOW!!

FML. That cliffhanger?!
This was a wild emotional rollercoaster, and I'm so thankful for Noah!! All the other characters have had me loving and hating them, their decisions and reasoning frustrating at times...but undeniably human. But Bee Daddy is that safe constant that gives you the feel of being all wrapped up in a hug.
Can't wait for the next in the series, because I am so ready for their HEA after all this.

Tytus what are we doing man? i loved him in the first book & all that he went through is so sad but in this book i just wanted to throttle his ass so badly he pissed me off
honestly i did not like Tytus until 95% of the way through
Mercer & Noah treat Sawyer like a damn queen & i absolutely understand that she was being blackmailed but pulling away from NOAH of all people made me so mad at her, that man had been through too much
Mercer is also my favorite because he fought for her like any man should, he did not care that his job was in trouble he was just worried about her
Tytus mainly just made me so frustrated with him especially with the “my wife” stuff, normally i love that but Tytus said it like it would fix everything, when in reality it just made everything worse for Sawyer
Mercer was completely justified in doing what he did at the end because AGAIN he was worried about Sawyer’s safety & this was the best plan to him to make sure she would not be blackmailed anymore, i definitely felt bad for Tytus but Mercer did not know
all of Mercer & Noah scenes made me so happy for them & how they treat Sawyer will always be so damn sweet
right now i’m not sure how Tytus is actually ever going to be okay with sharing her but i’m definitely looking forward to the next book!!

Star: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Almost Rotten by Abby Millsaps is a dark, intense, and emotionally chaotic descent into obsession, heartbreak, and the blurred lines between love and delusion. As the second book in the Men of Evercrisp Orchard series, it takes everything that made Almost Ravaged so addictive and twists it tighter, raising the stakes, deepening the emotional turmoil, and pushing its characters right to the edge.

This story continues to follow the tangled lives of Fallon, Tytus, Mercer, and Noah, but this time, it’s Tytus Tremblay who steps fully into the spotlight and into madness. When a scandal threatens Fallon’s future, Tytus does the unthinkable: he stands before the Dean and claims they’re married, forcing everyone to play along with his fantasy. What begins as a desperate attempt to protect her quickly spirals into something far more dangerous, as Ty’s obsession starts to consume not only him but everyone around him.

Fallon’s inner conflict drives the emotional core of the story. Torn between three men who each hold a piece of her heart, she’s caught in a storm of passion, confusion, and guilt. Her connection to Tytus is raw and magnetic, built on years of longing and pain, while Mercer and Noah represent stability and depth but even, they can’t save her from the emotional fallout Ty sets in motion. Abby Millsaps captures that torment beautifully, letting readers feel every ounce of Fallon’s unraveling as she struggles to hold on to her sense of self amid the chaos.

Tytus is the epitome of a dark, broken antihero possessive, manipulative, yet heartbreakingly devoted. His delusions blur the line between protection and control, love and obsession, and Millsaps doesn’t shy away from showing the consequences of that imbalance. His complexity makes him impossible to look away from, even when his choices make your heart ache.

The writing is immersive, sharp, and emotionally charged. Abby Millsaps has a way of weaving psychological tension with deep character intimacy, creating a story that feels both dangerous and devastatingly beautiful. The pacing is relentless, the emotions raw, and the atmosphere thick with tension.

Almost Rotten is a story of spiraling delusion, fractured love, and the haunting realization that sometimes the people who claim to save you are the ones pulling you apart. It’s dark, messy, and addictive in the best possible way—a gut-wrenching continuation of a series that refuses to hold back.

I am feeling so many emotions that I don’t even know where to start my review. I was completely unprepared for everything that transpired in this book. But I devoured this book so fast. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn’t get enough.

The spice was absolutely incredible. Abby nailed that in this book. Those scenes with Ty were HOT. Completely in love with the spice in this book.

Book two picks up right where book one ended. I was excited to learn more about Ty. I loved him in book one. I couldn’t wait to learn about his story. At first I was a little annoyed with him. But then I grew to feel bad for him. I just wanted to wrap him up in a big hug and hold him.

I loved Noah and Mercer in both books. I could truly see her having her happily ever after with both of them. Ty brought out the worst in Mercer in this book. I understand why Mercer is the way he is but I think I expected better from him. His actions left me completely speechless. Noah holds a special place in my heart. I love him so much and want so much for him.

Abby, you are the queen of cliffhangers. I stayed up way too late to finish this because I couldn’t go to bed without knowing how the book ended. Which was mind blowing and I didn’t see that coming at all. Never would have guessed that!

Throughout this entire book, I couldn’t guess what was going to happen next. I tried and I couldn’t wrap my head around what I thought would truly happen.

It’s heady, being watched. Knowing I’m the reason his pupils are blown out and he looks like he’s on the verge of losing control.

I can still feel my head spinning! I was not expecting anything this book threw at me, but I loved every bit of it. From the high angst and steam, to that "holy-shit-what-did-I-just-read" cliffhanger ending, I was in it!

My sweet Tytus was not so sweet anymore. I ached for his pain and every time he stumbled and just made everything worse, my heart broke. I was a bit thrown by his almost 180 personality shift, but it was just his darkness taking over. Speaking of darkness, this book is much darker than Almost Ravaged. Tytus takes no prisoners when it comes to making Sawyer his own (coercion and blackmail).

Love Noah (aka Bee Daddy) so much more after this book. He is truly the best out of Sawyer's suitors. Yeah, yeah, Mercer is also pretty steamy, but I love Noah's quiet protection a little more than Mercer's wrecking ball approach to life.

There is so much spice in book two - incredibly hot moments with Sawyer, Noah, and Mercer, but also between Sawyer and Tytus.

Remember that cliffhanger I mentioned? I knew it was coming, but I was still not prepared. Almost Ruined cannot get here soon enough!

Thanks to Valentine PR and Abby Millsaps for the e-ARC.

I AM UNWELL after finishing Almost Rotten. That was one of the most emotionally devastating cliffhangers I’ve read in a long time! Miscommunications abound made for an ending that didn’t leave anybody in a good place and I’m NERVY. I’ll just be over here rocking back and forth and chewing my nails until we get the resolution of this story!

I oscillated between extreme frustration and debilitating sadness throughout this entire book. Sawyer annoyed me endlessly, but the strength of the trauma bond between her and Tytus is unbelievable, and it does explain the logic behind a lot of her decisions. Mercer and Noah are sweet baby angels and I love them dearly. And while Tytus is on thin ice (hockey pun, anyone?), my heart has been completely obliterated on his behalf. The emotional turmoil in this book has left me desperate for Almost Ruined because the itty bitty pieces of my heart scattered on the ground are aching to be put back together.

While Almost Rotten was a rough ride, it was one I would take many times over! If you love emotional turmoil and convoluted relationship dynamics and hurt/comfort and undeniable chemistry and stories where she doesn’t have to choose, you’re going to devour Almost Rotten!

Caught in the middle 🥴
Oh gosh poor Sawyer she really is piggy in the middle between the men in her life and not in a good way 😥 there’s definitely darker notes to this book than the previous one so do check your TWs but for me the toughest bit was the way Tytus was sabotaging what could be such a good and genuine relationship between him and Sawyer! 😖 yet as much as she’s making her hate him there’s still that connection between them 🙈 and the way it clicks is 💥🥵
Mercer soon clicks somethings up and realises he’ll bend his own rule to keep his Little Nuisance however he’s not so quick to forgive as his own past issues rear their head 😞 and Noah sweet Noah is soon becoming crucial to Sawyer’s needs, he knows she’s the key to unlocking his gear again and will do what he can for her 😍 she realised they are home and the way the cement that honour is 🔥🌶️🌶️but honestly the turmoil in this book is at an all time high 😳 be prepared for a lot of emotions and especially after that brutal brutal cliffhanger!! I am really not sure theses going to be a way around this for them all 😟

If it's an Abby book, expect there to be a cliffhanger that makes you throw your book at the wall and hope what you read wasn't true.

everyone was okay (well ISH) we could've just carried on and had a peaceful resolution to the Ty issue but not this dramatic lock in and blood, poor Sawyer is going to be completely traumatised, how on earth can Noah and Mercer come back from this?

Noah talking about his wife to Sawyer was one of those smiling at my book like a psycho moments, she's healing him and they're so sickly sweet together (like honey, it makes sense)

Mercer talking about his past and tattoos and showing his vulnerable side? ugh we love a man who can put you in your place and open his heart.

okay I am still on team tytus can be redeemed, the boy has a lot of issues sure but he's struggled through everything without any help and the one person he thought he'd always have has found someone else, and he found out like that? I understand being bitter, don't condone the whole porn blackmail side or lying about marriage but yano.

also asking for a friend, where does one buy a bathroom big enough for two men and 'my friend' to share a shower?

Oh my goodness, that cliffhanger left me feeling with so many emotions. This story will definitely leave you with wanting more. This story will take you on a roller coaster ride. You’ll feel lots of love, pain, joy, despair and so much more.

This is the second book of Men Of Evercrisp Orchard. It literally pick off right where it ended in book 1 (Almost Ravaged). Sawyer is put in a tight spot that Ty puts her in. She has to play a part if not Ty will destroy not only her but Mercer as well. That doesn’t go very well for anyone involved. You’ll see Ty controlling side and at times you will want to punch him. I feel for Sawyer, not only is she hurting in the process she’s also hurting two important people she comes to care about.

You’ll learn more about Mercer and Noah past, how they’ve always been there for one another. What they’ve been through, you see they’re finally opening up a little to Sawyer. You see their trust all of them share. The connection between them is very strong. I love seeing them together and see how happy they make each other.

Almost Rotten picks up right where Almost Ravaged left off, and from page one, it’s pure chaos—in the best, most soul-crushing way.

This book is a dark why-choose romance full of obsession, sabotage, forbidden love, and heartbreak. We’re thrown right back into Sawyer’s messy, emotional world with Tytus, Mercer, and Noah. The double age gap, the college hockey backdrop, the professor-student dynamic, the brother’s best friend tension and the marriage of coercion—it’s all so intoxicating and twisted, I couldn’t put it down.

Let’s talk about Tytus for a second. The “it’s always been you” energy? Off. The. Charts. He’s unhinged in the most compelling way, and I was screaming at my Kindle half the time. I need his redemption arc yesterday.

Then there’s Mercer—we finally get more of his backstory, and my heart just hurt for him. I’m not justifying his actions, but wow… once you see everything he’s endured, it makes sense. And Noah? The definition of a green flag. Sweet, steady, grounding. I love that man.

Sawyer’s journey is just one long emotional rollercoaster. She’s torn between what she’s always wanted and what she’s starting to build now, and I felt every ounce of her confusion, guilt, and longing.

Abby Millsaps’ writing is so addictive. She makes you feel everything—anger, heartbreak, lust, hope—all in one chapter. I was screaming, crying, gasping, and now I’m just left clutching my chest, desperate for the next book.

Because yes, it ends on a cliffhanger. Again. And I am not okay.

If you love dark, forbidden, why-choose romance with angst, obsession, and emotional chaos, this series is your next fixation. Abby Millsaps owns my heart and my sanity (what’s left of it).

NOTE: This is book 2 of a series that must be read in order. Beware of cliffhangers....

Abby Millsaps is the queen of cliffhangers, and for good reason - here she gives us another one that has me screaming for Book 3. We left off Book 1 with a major cliffhanger that continues Sawyer's journey with the three men in her life: Tytus, Mercer & Noah. The conflict of emotions I felt, especially around Tytus & Sawyer's relationships, Tytus's actions, and how this entire chapter plays out, just goes to how wonderful Abby's writing is. She writes these complex characters that make some questionable decisions, but still had me captivated, devouring this book in a day.

It's hard to describe this without any spoilers, but at the core, Tytus & Sawyer have this bond that is hard to break. Tytus's emotional pull to Sawyer, especially when he learns she's fallen for Mercer & Noah, has him spiraling. Sawyer is pulled in two directions - one towards Tytus and the other towards Mercer & Noah. She must make a choice, but the potential consequences have her questioning everything.

This has a lot of potential triggers, so please check the warnings. The mental health rep here is done really well. This is very much Tytus's story, but we still get to see a lot of Noah & Mercer. The two men really balance each other & their devotion to Sawyer is really beautiful. Tytus is a tricky character. There are moments I really did not like him at all, and then by the end, I understood him much better and just wanted to give him a hug. Sawyer is young & her bond with Tytus runs so deep, but her love for Noah & Mercer is also really powerful. You can feel the conflict throughout, and I just can't wait until we get the conclusion of this story.
