This book had me giggling and spitting my coffee out immediately.

I truly consider myself to be one of the pickiest romantic comedy lovers you can find.

I will put a book down for silly things as long as I’m just not enjoying the book and this book spoke to my soul on a spiritual level with how good the jokes were. The tension and the yearning were also done so well, but there was enough spice to the point where you still get the treat that you want.

I love the premise that the main character is a blogger because same, and that the boy main character is an influencer because I feel like I don’t see that very often.

I absolutely love that this book didn’t have overly dark themes in it. It was exactly what I needed and I think it got me through a book slump. I need to buy these books the second they are available.

I also love that the title of the book is extremely accurate because no one ever wants to accidentally like a photo from like a year ago when someone else’s profile.

If you want a solid romcom that I’ll make you laugh that has not a single line of fluff in it and that does an exceptional job at showing over telling you do not want to miss out on this book. I read this in one day and usually romcoms take me a few days to read, but this one was simply inhaled and I loved every single line.

I am obsessed with this book and I’m obsessed with this author’s writing style and I need to read everything from them

Thank you for this ARC. I appreciate the opportunity to leave honest to feedback voluntarily. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

ARC Review
This is one of those moments I wish Goodreads did half stars because this is definitely more like a 3.5 than a 3 in my opinion! I thought it was a cute, fun read overall. I enjoyed the banter and the fake dating trope is one of my favorites. I found the influencer/writer dynamic fun but also a bit cheesy. The characters were likable but could have been a bit better developed in my opinion. For instance, Macey is described as confident several times, but I don’t feel there’s a lot of times on the page where we actually see that.

Overall, it was a fun read that I’d recommend and I’m grateful I got to review the advance copy!

I got to ARC read this and I’m still not over it 😭💖 The characters are honestly hilarious which is so rare!! Macey is so relatable it’s kinda scary, and Noah?? The way he’s so self-aware the entire time?? I was obsessed.
This was hands down my quickest read of the month, I just couldn’t stop. The banter, the vibes, all of it was perfection. I laughed, I swooned, I screamed into my pillow a little.

One like away - Becca Fall

What an absolutely adorable rom com! This debut had me wrapped up in giggles one moment and melting into a puddle the next. The chemistry between the main characters is impossible not to root for - equal parts banter, charm, and heartwarming moments that sneak up on you.

The story itself is cute, funny, and endlessly entertaining. It has that perfect balance of humor and sweetness that makes you turn the pages with a big smile plastered on your face. The author’s style feels so fresh and natural, with witty dialogue and just the right sprinkle of swoony scenes that make you sigh out loud.

For a debut, this is such an impressive accomplishment. Huge congratulations to the author - you’ve created a rom com that feels both modern and timeless, with characters readers will carry in their hearts long after the last page. I can’t wait to see what comes next from you!

One Like Away is a strong debut (or early outing) from Becca Fall. It wraps a familiar romantic trope in a modern setting and gives it some heart by exploring what it means to be seen (and unseen) in the digital age. If you enjoy romances where there’s more than just flirtation — where the protagonists wrestle with who they are versus who they present — this one could hit the mark. I’d rate it solidly recommended for fans of contemporary romance with an influencer/business-world twist.

Thanks to Becca for the ARC! This review is voluntary and reflects my own thoughts.

IG influencer Noah and travel writer Macey are the perfect Frienemies to fake dating to lovers!! They both think the other hates them, get in a huge fight that gets them both noticed more and they need to start fake dating which of course turns into the romance for the ages!!

There was so much growth for both of them, personally and professionally.

If you love a book that is up with the times and has some amazing banter you need to read this!!!

Becca Fall’s One Like Away might be a debut, but it carries the confidence and polish of a seasoned author. At its heart are Macey and Noah, whose chemistry leaps off the page. Both characters are fully realized, layered, flawed, but easy to root for. Their relationship grows out of a fake-dating setup that feels refreshingly original, anchored in the sometimes brutal world of influencers and online branding.

What makes the novel stand out is how honestly it tackles the tug-of-war between digital image and real life. Fall doesn’t shy away from showing the emotional toll of performing for an audience, or the heartbreak of chasing a dream that isn’t entirely your own. These struggles could easily play out in today’s headlines, which makes the story feel both timely and deeply relatable.

Through it all, Macey and Noah support one another in ways that go beyond swoon-worthy romance. They offer the kind of encouragement and understanding that feels like true partnership, one that makes you wish you had a Noah or a Macey in your own corner.

With its unique premise, heartfelt execution, and a romance that shines with both tenderness and authenticity, One Like Away is a stunning first outing. If Becca Fall writes her debut this well, readers can only imagine how much more she has to give in the future.

One Like Away is a cozy romance set in Chicago. The rivalry between blogger Macey and influencer Noah is established immediately and their airport argument quickly becomes viral. This is due to the fact that while they are airing their frustrations with one another, they still manage to throw in some compliments. Thanks to the positive reaction to their noticeable chemistry, they agree to fake date for continued views and follows.

As the story continues, we see that both Nate and Macey have things that they are struggling with. While Macey has a fabulous group of girlfriends who are always encouraging her, Nate's circle is decidedly smaller. With each event and date they go on, they learn more about each other, which blossoms into becoming the support they both need. It's not long before fake dating becomes friendship and friendship becomes more.

I have to admit that I was a little surprised that this was Becca Fall's debut novel. Her storytelling abilities are so smooth and polished and it made the whole book go by quickly. She got us laughing and cheering for Macey's group of girlfriends who I hope are set to get their own stories (She teases us with one at the end of the story). I also would love to see what happens to Nate's sister, Daphne.
Basically this was an exceptional debut novel that has me invested in the majority of the characters. I am looking forward to more books in The Burrow series.

While I received an ARC of this book, I am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book gave me everything I wanted and more—it felt like a perfect mix of 13 Going on 30 and The Devil Wears Prada, wrapped up in nostalgic 2000s rom-com vibes. From the very first chapter, I was hooked, and I honestly couldn’t put it down (I read it in just two sittings!).

The fake dating setup between Noah and Macey was executed so well. Their dynamic had the perfect balance of banter, tension, and chemistry, and I loved that their romance wasn’t rushed. The pacing felt natural, and the transition from rivals to enemies to something more was seamless and believable.

On top of that, the humor was top tier. I found myself laughing out loud, smiling like an idiot, and even kicking my feet at some parts. It’s been a long time since a rom-com actually gave me that kind of joy, and this one nailed it.

I especially loved the inclusion of text messages throughout the story. It gave the book a fun, modern feel while also offering a deeper glimpse into Macey’s friendships and relationships. Even though they were written in text format, they blended seamlessly into the narrative and never felt forced or out of place.

✨If you love witty banter, rivals-to-lovers done right, and the charm of early 2000s rom-coms with a fresh, modern twist—this book is an absolute must-read. I can’t recommend it enough!✨

Let me start this off but saying how grateful I am that I was able to get an ARC for this book! Shout out to Becca Fall and her team! Review below!

Miss Becca absolutely killed the fake dating trope, I think this was such a great book, my first of now many Becca Fall books! To start with, I will say the first few chapters weren’t giving much for me, the internal monologue wasn’t my favorite, felt like it took off a little fast BUT it did get so much better as the book went on! Started rooting for Noah and Macey early on! I’m a sucker for a fake dating trope and Becca did her thing on this one! I feel like the relationship definitely started very organically!(despite it being fake dating). They had such chemistry right off the bat, and all through there was a small miscommunication in the beginning of the book, I loved that it was resolved almost right away, and I think that definitely made a big change earlier on. I loved how they helped each other in ways they needed without knowing why it affected the other! I will give it a 2 for 🌶️, wasn’t much but I honestly don’t think this book actually needed many smut things, their romance was just enough! This book was such a great read and I can’t wait for more to come!

I’m very excited for Kira’s book to come out, I can’t wait to see more of her story and a little more of Noah and Macey from an outside perspective!

First things first (I’m the realist) thank you so much to Becca for allowing me to be an ARC reader for One Like Away. This was the most perfect holiday read and I have flown through it in a day.

We all love a chick-lit book, they follow a very similar equation of boy meets girl, boy dates girl, big significant fall out and then the ever perfect make up - and we love it, no matter how many times we read it. But the thing that separates the good the bad and the ugly of these books are the characters, the banter and the kick your feet and giggle moments. This book had those in spades!

Macey and Noah have incredible chemistry, although I do think that initial enemies part of the enemies to lovers trope could have been developed a little bit more. The other characters are also loveable and definitely leave space for further books looking at them more closely. I did however feel the Xavier storyline didn’t really quite fit, he was sort of mentioned, hinted that he made everyone feel awkward and then disappeared without a trace. I’m aware it may be lining up things for its own story but it just felt a little weird.

Would I recommend this book? Absolutely! Am I already waiting for the rest of the series! Too right I am! Well done Becca, I really enjoyed it.

One Like Away by Becca Fall
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

▫️expected pub date: 10/7/25
▫️Travel writer Macey Monroe and influencer Noah Hansley don't get along as proven by their massive argument outside of a Chicago airport one cold winter night. They know this, but the world thinks they had a bit of a lovers quarrel, thanks to the viral video someone caught and posted to social media. Now, everyone thinks they're together, Macy's work articles and social media followers are growing and they receive a big invite from a new resort to check out- Together. The two decide that they will pretend to be together. As the followers and likes increase, so do their feelings of one another.
▫️I really enjoyed the character arcs the author created here. Really good development throughout. I can totally relate to Macey, who is very by the book and sometimes scared to make a move without a safety net. I loved the secondary characters as well (even if they were a bit more expected -with Noah's sister Daphne being the typical outgoing and outspoken little sister, Macy's ex being a perk, and her friend group being a protective force.)
▫️Great banter throughout
▫️ moderate to fast paced especially as a little over 300 pages
▫️nice set up at the end for a second book. Its one i would definitely read at some point.
▫️Tropes: miscommunication, one bed, fake dating, enemies to lovers, HEA, romantic comedy

Note: I received an ARC of this book for free: my review is my honest feedback.

Alrighty! This book starts off a little slow but once I got into it I really enjoyed it.

The writing style is easy to follow, not overly wordy for a rom-com. The story is cute and simple. The only thing I can say I didn’t like was they never gave away who was stalking Macey’s blog BUT there were some hints that lead me to a certain person in her periphery.

Also it’s only book one in the series and it could be that the author has plans to reveal that in one of the next books.

She has book two set up with an easy follow as to who the couple will be and it will be interesting to see how she redeems that guy because the friend group of Macey’s does NOT like the guy lol

Noah is so incredibly sweet and has this online image that he has set up for himself and as Macey gets to know him and who he is OFFline she finds him quite enjoyable to be around.

Macey starts off kind of annoying as she likes her job duties but DESPISES her manger as she is holding her back.

I really like how Noah and Macey helped each other process new steps in their relationship and their life as a whole

I will solidly follow this author and read more by her

This book started off a little slow for me but once I got into it I could not put it down. I did feel that some of the back story on the characters took too long to get too but the inner monologue that the characters did about their feelings was on point. If you like spice, its there but not until over halfway through the book and its only like once or twice, but I think that helped out the story because she definitely needed the connection before she would dive into anything like that. I would describe these characters as kind of grumpy/sunshine or maybe a grumpy/storm cloud because he is a cynic and she tends to see the best in people, which she does but at the same time she has been burned by an influencer in the past and that shaped some parts of their relationship at the beginning. Overall it was a great book and I will be waiting for book two because of the cliffhanger at the end (the best way to get me to read the next book in the series is to do that) and I also already have my couple picked out for book three so hopefully that prediction is correct.

When I first read the blurb for this romance novel, I was immediately intrigued because I love the “rivals in the same field” trope! Macey Monroe is a journalist working for her domineering boss while dreaming of starting her own travel blog. Noah Hansen is an influencer who’s feeling burnt out, but isn’t sure how to turn off his public image long enough to take a breath. After a viral video where Macey and Noah are mistakenly thought to be dating, the two are invited to cover the opening of a resort together as a couple. After the trip, they decide to fake a date a little longer and realize they might like each other more than they thought. This book had so many funny lines and great banter between Macey and Noah. The development of Macey and Noah from rivals to friends to lovers was so well done. I loved the character development of Macey throughout the book and her quirky personality! This was such a sweet debut romance and I’ll definitely be looking forward to the next books in the series.

This is a sweet romance, enemies to lovers, between two rivals, a blogger and an influencer. Chemistry is there from the beginning. Great banter between the characters. They get into an argument in an airport that goes viral. They want to control the situation, so they decide to fake date. I love the fact that this is reality for some people now a days. Everyone looking for that viral moment and then the damage control that is done afterwards to lessen the sting. As the story goes on, you see that they are both dealing with things in their lives. FMC has a group of friends she can go to for support, but the MMC really doesn’t have that. Through fake dating, they learn more about each other and support for one another. This of course turns fake dating into real dating. The storyline is well written; the characters are amazing. It has all the feels. You will laugh out loud and will be rooting for them as you read. This is Becca Falls’ debut book. Her writing is that of a much more seasoned author. Very enjoyable. Can’t wait to see what she writes next.

Macey is a blogger who ends up fake dating an influencer she doesn’t get along with to get more views.

DNF at 25%.

The FMC hated her job and complained so much. Just quit? It was annoying. I get that her job is part of the plot so I can overlook that and the slow pacing at the start and keep going.

I could not overlook the weird beginning. There is no chemistry. The story doesn’t make sense. The main characters don’t get along. They go from screaming at each other in an airport to the FMC grabbing his leg and taking off his sock to wrap his ankle (without permission). Then she’s got both hands on his knees, all up in his personal space close enough to see details in his iris color, and whispers seductively. Ick.

The idea of the plot sounded so fun but the setup was not realistic and I just couldn’t get into it.

Thank you to the author for the ARC.

Well Written Fun Read with Humor, Heat, and Heart - Perfect!

This was a great first book by a new author that has everything - an interesting story, wonderful characters with depth, witty dialog and LOL text convos that kept the pages turning. While neither Macey or Noah were perfect by any means, I enjoyed the glimpse into the world of influencing, blogging and travel writing, and the struggle of separating the "real" person from the on-line version. I also loved that during their "fake" relationship a real friendship was formed as well as real feelings and that they helped each other achieve their true career goals while also achieving their HEA. The story hints at the next book in the series and I can't wait to read it - Enjoy!

Arc review ✨

The book was such an easy read, and captures your engagement pretty much from the start. This continues throughout the book meaning I couldn’t put it down & read it within days which is new for me!!

I loved the story - it was very modern & somewhat relatable! Especially the characters - they were so easy to like. I also loved the side characters, and they were so well intergrated into the main storyline. I think each character was perfectly explained, and it was so easy to build the world they live in.

I really liked the way the chapters were written, specifically the POV from the main 2 characters. I’ve read books like this before, but this one was so so easy to understand & relatable!!

Overall, I loved this book & im definitely excited to see what happens in the next book!! 🥰

This book was a fun read. I really enjoyed following Macey and Noah and seeing their relationship blossom. Tropes that were apparent were enemies-to-lovers (first encounter did not go well - AT ALL), forced proximity, and he falls first. Both had their own issues throughout the story that they had to work through. As someone who studied journalism in college, I was happy to see that the FMC was working at a publication. I feel like Noah's background could have been explored a bit more, but Becca did a pretty good job weaving his thoughts on being an influencer into the book. The ending was the perfect setup for Book 2, which comes out in January.

Overall, for a debut novel, it was a great read.

Tropes:

- Frenemies to lovers
- Misunderstood “bad boy”

3.5⭐️
1🌶️

He’s a social media influencer known for his “bad boy” reputation and she’s a writer for a magazine. They live in the same town and know each other - but neither of them truly know the other! After a public disagreement goes viral, they leave the world thinking they are actually in a relationship!

Invited to go to a resort opening as a couple, Noah and Macey decide to go along and fake date! With a boat ride that leaves someone over board and a photo op with a pool side kiss, the lines start to blur for our couple!!!

I enjoyed this book!!! The main characters had great chemistry and the side characters were fun additions!!! I’m also very much looking forward to the next book in the series!!!!

ARC review ✨

One Like Away is a light and sweet romance. Things to look forward to include puns, female friendship, family bonds, and a couple worth shipping.

This was the first book that I’ve read where one of the MC’s is an influencer. It was a good reminder that not only is the internet not real life, but influencers may be different than what they appear to be online.

My favorite part of the book was the trip to Aruba, there were so many funny moments, I wish it had been longer!

One comment I have is the conflict between the MC’s in chapter 2 felt kind of abrupt. We hardly knew them or the history at that point. Also, as someone with asthma, the asthma attack seemed over the top to me, but I know people have their own experiences 🤷🏼‍♀️

Overall, this was a solid debut and I enjoyed it! Thank you so much Becca Fall for allowing me to read this ARC!

The Good:
I laughed so hard throughout this book. Macey's girl group is hilarious and just how friends should be.
FMC who doesn't drink alcohol & doesn't mind saying so! Yay!
45%! How witty! Points for the author.
I actually really enjoyed that there was not a lot of stock put into spicy scenes, but the book centered more on feelings; how both MCs felt toward each other rather than their lust/attraction.

The Bad:
There is no plural to Lego. It is a brand, not a noun.
Dual POV is so hard to keep characters consistent. Noah has inconsistency between his and Macey's POV.
There are some smaller typos.
The book seemed to start rushing at about 85%.

Tropes:
Enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, he falls first, bad boy but really a cinnamon roll, slow burn, 3rd act breakup

I am thankful I received this ARC for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

What is it people say about first impressions? Oh yeah, that they can be seriously wrong.
This is the case for aspiring travel writer Macey when it comes to her opinion of self-absorbed, pretty boy influencer Noah - or so she has thought up until now. But it turns out, she is going to have to completely rethink everything she thought she knew about him.

Macey is a small-time writer at a travel magazine, who has big dreams. And Noah is a successful lifestyle influencer, who needs a break. When the result of an unlikely encounter leads these two to make a deal to help each other reach their goals, no one could know what would follow would be a journey filled with laughter, misunderstandings, unexpected attraction, hurt feelings, emotional and personal growth and new-found understanding for each other.

This book had me laughing from the get-go. There are so many scenes that are 100% relatable and it really makes you feel like you know exactly what the characters are going through. The narrative is really nicely written and engages all of your senses to give you an immersive experience. The character growth is really satisfying and at times even motivational. So, all in all, a very enjoyable read. 😊

I really liked the idea behind this story. It’s a pretty original idea. One trying to get out of the limelight, the other trying to get noticed more. I think it was awesome that Noah grew out of his bad boy persona and was wanting more in life. So I can only imagine how hard it must’ve been for him to rid himself of his podcast that reflected someone he wasn’t anymore.
And Macey. Nothing like being stuck in a job you hate.
But the plan for them to evolve in their positions seemed like a prime opportunity to all the broken so to speak. I found this story to be fun and had some great elements. But it was super cheesy and I just really couldn’t get into it as much as u would’ve liked. But I do give it four stars because overall it was well written and had fun characters.

I received this as an ARC and I’m leaving a voluntary review
