Kelin Wildfire's new life is blazing with potential and he has a lofty goal: to become the Sovereign of Souls and the Lord of Reincarnation.
The path is long and deadly, but for an Archmage to be reborn, his sight should be set higher than it was before, which means establishing a foundation that will allow him to surpass the level of his previous life and seize true power.
It means conquering challenges he never considered, but he has the potential to remake himself until he is capable of burning through them all, even if it takes him centuries.
Now that he has dealt with the first problems, he is beginning to enjoy his new life, but a return to power is never without flaws.
He needs to explore the rest of Celadon, traveling far and wide to gather the experience he needs for his continued rise, as well as to face the enemies who want to stop him on the way.
Soon he will need to fulfill a quest that leads him to the Empire of Sarathia, a desert kingdom of ancient and wild power that has been tainted by the undead.
Dark rituals and followers seem to flow endlessly from the sands.

About the A new LitRPG progression fantasy with levels, classes, crafting, experience, and rare evolutions. This series continues the story of the Aster Fall universe, but it is set 5,000 years later, during an epic era where humanity has risen to great power and has command of elemental and dimensional magics. Follow Kelin as he rises from nothing to reach the peak of the Wild Era.
I’m a fan of time reversal or reincarnation novels so this one was right up the alley. The protagonist was one of the most powerful and skilled magic users before he died, and that knowledge forms the basis of his power in his new life. This third installment in the series continues his growth as he is leaving his former friends and companions behind. I’m giving it four stars because there are occasional goofs (like rating a magic item as different grades from one page to another) and some of the combat wins have a deus ex machina feel to them.
A much better book than the second in this series. All that filler with the annoying party is left behind—no more hand-holding a bunch of side characters who really won’t go far in the story. In the last book, Kelin had to literally spoon-feed the party because they couldn’t kill a single mob in a dungeon, and that took way too long. But it seems the author noticed the problem and even addressed it in this book, with characters pointing out that what Kelin was doing was wrong: the party didn’t earn their power, so they would end up dying because of it, and this was just delaying his progression.
With this problem out of the way, the story flows much better—although there’s still a bit too much time spent in dungeons. The plot hasn’t advanced much, if at all. The only difference between the second book and this one, in terms of story, is that he gained a way to earn more stats than his level allows—like Sam did in the last series—and he now knows a bit more about the villains on that planet. Outside of that, nothing happened.
We’re on the right path, but I hope David focuses more on the plot in the next book. There’s a whole empire to explore, a cult with a lot of third-evolution-plus individuals, and an entire galactic war. Too many good ideas to waste in a dungeon killing mobs for XP. Don’t get me wrong—fights are not the problem—but there’s a difference between reading about the MC fighting a war for many chapters, trying to survive, win, or end the conflict, and reading about the MC killing a bunch of mobs that will just respawn in a few days. He doesn’t even close the gates; they’re just eternally there, waiting for the next bloke.
Can I say I'm a big fan of his work. Spoiler Alert: I really curious how he'll get space, time and death laws to go with the reborn law to create reincarnation. And if the MC race will change because his stats are miniscule compared to Sam how's he going to become a Sovereign.
Okay enough questions for the author, here's my review for the readers. This book didn't go very far but where he did go was all entertaining and engaging. If there is one criticism it's that each book should cover more, currently, it's looking like more than 14 books just to get him close to the seventh evolution. It hard to be creative and engaging or carry anyone's interests that long.
Anyways, yes I would recommend the series to other. It's unique in a genre where it's hard to be unique. It's adult, when most of the genre is written by man children. There is no romance so the story want turn melodramatic. So overall a good read.
Big fan so I am reading on. The series has fallen into the trap of having an MC with too much OP. It means I don’t feel any real suspense or jeopardy in the plot and it feels more like a recounting of a story. I also don’t feel there has been much is any character progression in any one other than the MC. Everyone else is just an accessory. Great crafting though and very detailed system and thought out plot. I want more depth though to the other characters and that the MC is really challenged and in peril. Need this juice.
Great balance of progression and solidifying foundations
I liked that Kelin worked on shoring up his foundations in this book, while still being able to progress. Interesting that the Sovereign warned him against gaining too much attention from Undeath, and yet, Kelin’s Path puts him in direct antipathy to Undeath and his minions. I especially love how Kelin continually uses the Laws of Undeath’s lieutenants to strengthen himself.
Another wondrous book.. One of my fav authors and this looks to be setting up mc as op power progression.... Mix of crafting and power leveling within shared world of his other series but with large advancement of time. Highly recommend JD Glasscock Author of the Series Blood Brothers, Nocturne and Warborn
Holy Crap! Wonderful! Beautifully executed Mr. North!
I keep David North on my shortlist of authors to read, and will immediately drop another book when anything of his is released. This addition to the series proves why this is the correct decision. Deep character development, intense action, and detailed skill development and insight. What’s not to love?!
Interesting take on the magic system and the last half of the book fills the need nicely on additional progression that will set Kelin apart similarly to how Sam fought beyond his level in the last series. Loving what I’m reading and can’t wait to Book 4! (As of this review, Patreon has up to Chapter 4)
As the second Epic era continues, this book provides a satisfying evolutionary volume. In its matrix, an internal reorganization and strengthening. Good read, recommended.
Enjoyed this book and the continuation of the story. I liked the additional information about the path and the universe. I love the idea of a path/system that is not evil and tries to help a person.
Love this series and author. This is more of the same progression. However the writing is on the wall for the MC. He will be alone. No one can keep up. This is the price of power.
I have enjoyed this enough to join David North’s Patreon, so I clearly have really liked it. Love the system, but also our MC who pursues personal power but strives for the betterment of those around him. Can’t wait for more.
Really enjoyed this series so far and looking forward to reading more in the series. I'm now of fyi read your other series finally as I got the first one awhile ask and just never got round to reading it.
