Brad Magnarella writes urban fantasy for the same reason most read it – to explore worlds where magic crackles from fingertips, vampires and shifters walk city streets, cats talk (some excessively), and good prevails against all odds. It’s shamelessly fun.

His three main series, Prof Croft, Blue Wolf, and Maddy Deeds, make up the growing Croftverse, with nearly a half-million books sold to date and an Independent Audiobook Award nomination.

Hopelessly nomadic, Brad can be found in a rented room overseas or hiking America's backcountry.

Military urban fantasy

If you like military missions, with all the potential dangers, add in magic and the mayhem that involves, and then throw in found family, you'll love the Blue Wolf series.
Jason is cursed in a mission gone wrong and then is forced to join an unlikely team to save the world, multiple times.
If you've read the Professor Croft series, you'll see characters you know and find a lot of easter eggs to things that happen in the other series, but not in a way that spoils or leaves you lost without them.
The twists and turns in each story are surprising and not at all easy to see coming.

The Blue Wolf is Jason, a special ops soldier who is cursed while on assignment and transforms into a giant, blue wolf. He finds himself recruited to a secret rag-tag military team of supernaturals, tasked with rooting out and stopping various preternatural threats, while his bosses try to find a cure for his affliction.

As always, with Mr Magnarella’s writing, the real joy here is in the character development and interaction. There is adventure, action, banter, camaraderie, friendship, and heartbreak. All in a well-crafted alternative (or merely hidden?) version of our own reality. Highly recommended.

The first three books were great. The next two, not as interesting, to me. The last book was better. Prof Croft was in it, and I love him. Had a sad ending though. The narrator is good, but I liked him better as the narrator for the Prof Croft series. If you love urban fantasy with lots of action and some magic, you will probably love this 6 book set!

Absolutely Worth Reading!

This set is not the normal genre for me, but as I read the short synopsis of the story it intrigued me. The more I read the more I was hooked, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the Blue Wolf and Jason Wolfe the man and the sacrifices he made to help humanity.
