About the author

Jeremy Lachlan was born and raised on Wiradjuri country, in Griffith, NSW, Australia. A former bookseller, he completed his Honours degree in creative writing at the University of Canberra in 2004, and now calls Sydney home. His debut novel, Jane Doe and the Cradle of All Worlds, was the 2019 Australian Book Industry Award winner for Book of the Year for Older Children, and its sequel, Jane Doe and the Key of All Souls, was shortlisted for the same award in 2021, but both of those pale in comparison to the $100 he once took home in a karaoke competition. He came up with the idea for the Jane Doe Chronicles while lost in the Cairo Museum.

A phenomenal end to a phenomenal series. I’ve loved journeying through the manor with Jane and her found family.

The series I wish I had as a younger me, grateful the world has it now.

It’s the end of the Jane Doe series, and it wraps up epically in Book 4 - The God of All Hours.

If you’re not familiar with the series, it begins with our main character Jane’s father going missing. Determined to find him, Jane enters the Manor a strange, ever shifting labyrinth between worlds, filled with perilous traps and dangerous creatures. As she navigates this unpredictable realm, she’s joined by a group of unlikely allies who help her along the way.

The whole series is a fast paced action adventure, rich with complex characters that you’ll grow to love and many you will despise. The evolving plot will keep you hooked and the changing worlds keep the story fresh. Add in the beautifully written relationship between Jane and Violet, the character growth and the unravelling mysteries that we discover along the way and the series has a bit of everything. 😍

Book 4 opens with Jane missing and her friends scattered across the worlds. The stakes are high, so can everything come together in time for Jane to save the Otherworlds? Or is this truly the end of the road?

Without giving too much away for those who haven’t read the series yet and for long time fans alike, you will not be disappointed! The final instalment delivers in every way and the conclusion is a satisfying end. It is clear how much love and care Jeremy Lachlan has poured into these stories and it shines through in his writing.

Such an epic conclusion. The adventures that Jeremy Lachlan takes us on in these novels are very hard to put down books. A definite must read for fantasy lovers.
