Broken doesn't mean destroyed. Sometimes it means beautifully transformed.
Kit
He destroyed me. Erased who I was. Called me disgusting, broken, worthless.
Hidden bruises. Broken ribs. Pain I kept secret. The night he crossed a line I never thought he would, one thought finally crystallized in my he will kill me if I stay.
So I ran. For two years, I've been Kit Ellis, a nobody beta who cleaned offices and stayed invisible. No heats. No dreams. Just surviving.
Until them.
Griffin, Nolan, and Declan.
We hunt monsters. Kill predators. Protect the innocent.
We thought we were complete.
Then we meet Kit. Quiet. Broken. Beautiful. She doesn't react to us, doesn't fear us, doesn't even see us.
She gets under our skin. Makes us feel things we've never felt before. Makes us question everything we thought we knew about ourselves.
Her pain cuts us open. She can't see what we see. That her cracks let the light in. That broken things, when loved, become sacred.
Someone made her believe she was worthless.
They were wrong.
Now we're not just protectors.
We're hers.
Beautifully Broken Omega is the first book in the Shattered Omegas series, a standalone dark reverse harem omegaverse romance with lots of angst, healing, and protection. This book contains found family, morally gray alphas, an epic claiming, no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed HEA.
At sixteen, Lily Hinton stumbled across a romance novel on her mother's bookshelf that completely changed her world. What started as casual summer reading turned into a three-month binge that left her completely hooked on steamy love stories. For years, she dreamed of writing her own but never believed she had the talent. Finally, she's taken the leap to share the stories closest to her heart.
By day, she works a boring office job dealing with numbers and spreadsheets. Writing romance is her escape from the daily grind, a way to leave the mundane behind and create the passionate, spicy relationships she loves to read about. Every character gets the happy ending she believes we all deserve.
When she's not writing, she's working on jigsaw puzzles that take over her kitchen table, getting beat at chess by her husband, or spending time baking to feed her love of all things sweet. She's moved around a lot and learned that every place has stories worth telling. She's drawn to themes of found family and characters finding where they truly belong.
Lily writes for anyone who needs a break from real life, who stays up too late reading "just one more chapter," and who craves stories with both steam and emotional depth that makes their heart ache.
If you want to talk about books, share baking recipes, or just say hi, she'd love to hear from you. And if you've decided to pick up one of her books, from the bottom of her heart, thank you ❤️
i loved this book until i hit about the 200 page mark, and then i mostly just skimmed the rest.
the thing this book had going for it was that it was patient. it’s a recovery narrative, where a domestic violence survivor escapes and creates a new life for herself. she’s skittish and fearful, but determined. she starts as a character who is tightly wound and slowly learning to let her guard down little by little.
and then we hit 200 pages in and somehow all of that carefully crafted tension goes out the window. kit just “can’t help” but kiss all her bosses, two of whom in the same day, if i remember correctly, even after she immediately runs away after she does it the first time.
and then they all tell her they’re in love with her. so far, we have seen them all have approximately 5 scenes together, at least two of which were mostly just her having a panic attack. even when they’re confessing their love and trying to list all the reasons they “love her,” it kinda does the opposite because they reference exactly one (1) half-joke she made during one (1) conversation. was it the best joke she made? yes, but only because it’s literally the only joke she’s made. because they’ve spent maybe 3 days tops actually interacting with her.
and then her ex finds her and the new guys bring her home with them for her safety and they have this big conversation about moving slowly and understanding that she’s recovering from some horrible trauma. and literally three days later, she’s whining and throwing a tantrum that they aren’t fucking her yet. and it feels extra gross because she’s like “you guys are avoiding me, i don’t want to go slow, i’m ready for more, i want everything,” but not once does she stop to consider that they are also adjusting to the pretty big change of suddenly having her move in, not due to a natural progression of a romantic relationship, but due to safety concerns. and they already told her that they want to move slowly, and she’s basically like “that’s not good enough.” and if there’s something i hate in a romance book, it’s when characters start getting pushy about sex, and for whatever reason it’s considered totally normal and fine when it’s a female character that does it.
after that, the book mostly falls apart. it does the thing that lots of books do when they need to manufacture a reason to get the fmc alone so she can be traumatized and then saved. and that’s to create a weird misunderstanding that completely undercuts the first half of the book. she receives a text hinting that the guys are “not what they seem” and that they might be connected to missing omegas. she googles the omegas’ names, sees that they’re missing (with absolutely no connection to the guys mentioned in the articles as far as i remember) and then, in a way that completely belies the scene that preceded it where she said she loves them and trusts them no matter what, she just runs away and falls directly into a trap. because of course she does. of course this woman who the audience was literally just told that she trusts her partners and knows they would never hurt her, of course she doesn’t ask a single question and runs away with zero proof that they’ve done anything wrong.
at that point i mostly gave up.
although i’d like to mention that the villain induces her heat with some sort of drug that they specifically refer to as “military grade,” which begs the question, what exactly does the military do with heat induction drugs? just out of curiosity.
blah blah her pack comes and saves the day and tells her that she was right to run away without asking them any questions and that that’s a totally normal thing for her to do, it definitely shows that she trusts them and there’s no problem with that (???) and then it’s basically over.
again, i skimmed the rest of the book, so i might have just missed this part, but like…either they never tell her about their side job of torturing and maybe killing “bad guys,” or they only tell her somewhere after the 80% mark, which is an extra weird detail considering we were all confessing our love a hundred pages ago.
it just really sucks that this was a semi-realistic (i know, it’s an omegaverse book, just follow me here) portrayal of healing and recovery and how it can be slow and non linear and how the trauma is long lasting and can catch you off guard. i really loved the careful way the narrative explored kit very slowly opening up and showing more parts of herself. and it felt like we did that really well up until the kiss scenes, and then after that, the book completely forgot that the main character was definitely not ready to throw herself into this relationship so quickly, which is proven by how quickly and easily she assumes that they maybe kidnapped/trafficked/killed (??) several other missing omegas without a shred of evidence or even a conversation.
Kit Ellis is an omega masquerading as a beta. She escaped an abusive alpha, changed her name and went into “hiding.” She used to be a paralegal but now she spends her days cleaning. When she gets a job at Sentinel Security everything changes. The alpha owners of Sentinel Security, Pack Hayes, know there is more to Kit than meets the eye. She is “unmoved” by them and there is something there underneath her calm exterior. When they need help with a contract they ask her (having discovered she knows a lot about law) and Kit astounds them with her knowledge. They grow closer to Kit, and eventually the truth about her omega nature comes out. Roman, the abusive ex-alpha has been “sniffing around,” and the alphas convince Kit to stay with them for her protection…but also because they e fallen in love with her. Everything seems to be going all right until Kit gets a text message from a reliable friend that makes her question Pack Hayes and she goes running. Turns out that Roman tricked her and he’s waiting for her. Roman injects her with a false heat drug and the alphas save her from Roman and take care of her during her heat. The book ends with pack Hayes happily marrying Kit.
**THOUGHTS/OPINIONS**
So, this omegaverse had the potential to be excellent. I liked Kits character, and I thought her alphas were terrific, perfect for her. The reason this book was just okay, and I gave it 3 stars was because it was rushed. The book read at breakneck speed. Everything from her escaping her abusive alpha yo learning to trust pack Hayes, to her rescue and HEA was speedily done with. Kit was an abused omega, but she fell into trusting and sleeping with pack Hayes REALLY quickly. There was very little buildup in their relationship, and although pack Hayes was established as a GOOD PACK, the author didn’t really develop Kit and pack Hayes relationship to the point where is made sense that she would just accept them and move in with them. It was all so fast. Then the dealing with Roman was equally quick. She gets a text message and just like that she doesn’t believe the pack she has been living with? She runs. It’s again not believable. Roman’s end is also somewhat anticlimactic. He injects Kit with a heat inducer and then the alphas get there right in time to take him down and make him, uh, “disappear” ie, they kill him at a black site (lol). And just like that the book is over. Kit is rescued. She has her heat. The alphas propose and they all get married. This all takes place in the course of three pages. I like the idea of a traumatized, abused omega learning to love again just as much as the next reader, but the story has to have DEPTH and delivery. This book felt like a novella and read like a speed engine, everything short and at lightning pace. It just didn’t give enough “meat.” Felt like an appetizer not a full course meal.
Gripping, Emotional, and Impossible to Put Down Beautifully Broken Omega pulled me in from the very first page. Lily Hinton weaves a story that is both raw and tender, balancing the darker, more intense moments with heartfelt vulnerability. The characters feel real—flawed yet deeply compelling—and their struggles kept me hooked the entire way through. What I loved most was how the author captured the push and pull of strength and fragility in the omega’s journey. There’s plenty of steam, but it’s the emotional depth that makes this book shine. By the end, I felt like I had been on the journey with them, rooting for healing, love, and second chances. If you enjoy Omegaverse with strong storytelling, layered characters, and just the right amount of intensity, this is an absolute must-read. I’ll definitely be continuing with the series.

H: Nolan Reid, Griffin Hayes, Declan Murphy (owners of Sentinel Security) h: Katherine Lawson (Omega) aka Kit Ellis (Beta) So Katherine was in an abusive relationship with an Alpha Roman Slater. The 1st time he hit her face, where everyone could see, she realized he might actually kill her and ran. She called her mother and her mother pretty much told her to go back to him and do better. So she called her friend Becca who suggested for her to move in with her aunt in Cleveland. She got a new identity as Kit Ellis and decided to make a life of herself. Because of her abusive relationship she stopped getting heats and her scent started changing. While cleaning one of the houses mrs. Winters, who has been an assistant for the Sentinel Security, came up with an opening for a cleaning position which she decided to give it a chance. She met them and they all instantly felt a connection but couldn't figure it out. Her mom reached out to her friend Becca telling her she has cancer and will be dying soon. So weeks pass and they tell the truth after Roman shows up at the Sentinel for a meeting. She broke down and told them everything. They decided for her to stay with them and they all "got on". After they did there thing and they confessed their love for one another she gets a text (even though she found it strange she got a txt vs a call from this peron) from mrs Winters (the friend that got her the jbo) telling her she made a mistake and they are really bad people. Instead of calling that person back, she called her mother (the one that turned her back on her) . I didn't like that. I'm sorry to say I didn't like the story after that.
I didn’t think there was anything left in the Omegaverse that could catch me off guard, but Lily proved me wrong. Her unique spin on the broken omega trope, especially how Kit managed to pass as a beta for two whole years, gives this story a refreshing, original edge that sets it apart from the usual fare. Katherine once had the world at her feet—until she met Roman. What began as a seemingly sweet romance quickly turned into a nightmare as Roman’s mask slipped, revealing the alpha’s true colors. As his “corrections” became more violent, his control more suffocating, Katherine realized that if she didn’t escape, she wouldn’t survive. And so, Katherine became Kit. A new name, a new life, thanks to her fiercely loyal best friend, Becca. When Kit lands a job at Sentinel Security, the paycheck feels like the first step toward reclaiming her future. What she doesn’t expect is the magnetic pull she feels toward her three new bosses—Griffin, Declan, and Nolan. Each of them embodies a different kind of strength: Griffin’s commanding calm, Nolan’s quiet protectiveness, and Declan’s easy charm that masks a fierce loyalty. Their connection to Kit is instant, though her scent clearly marks her as beta… or so they think. It doesn’t take long before they realize Kit is hiding far more than a secret identity. What truly shines in this story is the tenderness these three alphas show Kit. After everything she’s endured, watching them treat her with care, patience, and respect is deeply moving. They show her that alphas can protect without controlling, desire without dominating, and love without breaking. As Kit begins to trust again, she blossoms, rediscovering her strength, her voice, and her worth. While I found myself frustrated that one text message could unravel all the trust Kit had built, it also felt painfully real. Trauma doesn’t follow logic, and Lily captures that confusion perfectly. Still, I would have loved to see Roman get his comeuppance. Some well-deserved retribution would’ve been chef’s kiss. My only minor quibble is that while Lily’s story breathes new life into the Omegaverse, it also steps away from some of its signature elements (no scent matching, no mates or bonds, no nesting). It’s not a flaw so much as a choice, but I couldn’t help missing those small touches that make the genre so distinct. Overall, this book surprised me in the best way. It’s raw, emotional, and full of heart. A story of survival, healing, and rediscovering what love is supposed to feel like. Lily didn’t just reimagine the Omegaverse, she made it human again. She thought she could outrun the past. She never expected to find them.
Katherine once had a sharp mind and a bright future, but as Roman’s omega she was reduced to fear and control. When she finally runs and becomes Kit, she hides in plain sight as a cleaner in Cleveland, clinging to her independence and hoping her past never catches up.
Sentinel Security is supposed to be just another job, but the three alphas who run it are nothing like the monster she escaped. Griffin is disciplined and justice driven, Nolan is steady and quietly tender, and Declan is playful yet fiercely loyal. Together they see through the walls she’s built and begin to uncover the fire she’s tried to bury.
As trust grows, Kit learns that love can be protective instead of controlling and passion can be healing instead of cruel. But when old dangers resurface, she’s forced to decide if she’ll keep running or finally stand with the men who’d do anything to protect her.
Kit starts as a woman stripped of her confidence but slowly reclaims her strength and her voice. Griffin lets go of rigid control and finds hope again, Nolan softens as he discovers joy in caring, and Declan balances charm with deep commitment. Their bond evolves from hesitation into something unshakable, built on trust, safety, and devotion.
A dark, steamy, fated mates reverse harem omegaverse romance, filled with slow burn tension, protective alphas, secret identity, found family, and the fierce pull of bonds that can’t be denied. It explores trauma and recovery, identity and self acceptance, love and trust, friendship and chosen family, power and control, justice and vengeance, and healing through connection. At its core, it’s about an omega who learns she’s not broken, three alphas who discover that love can heal as much as it protects, and a pack forged through passion, loyalty, and the strength to face down monsters together.
Abused by her mother then by her alpha, omega Kat's struggle to find her self and live, actually live although as Kita the cleaning lady, is one plot line a love.
Meeting three alpha boss, slowly getting to lnow their charachters, to actually fall in love... Second star for the plot line for me.
At this stage, i dont understand the need to make it alpha-omega, when its completely good plot already without it.
Move along, the slow burn was good but then after a night of finally getting on the earth shattering segs time, one simple text easily destroy Kit's love and trust for them, was too cliche, its an insta turn off for me.
Then it all come spiralling dowm for me. What i ignore about the alpha-omega plot, came back when Roman said he finally can knot her properly with her heat coming.
Kit got knotted by three alpha when she wasnt in heat. Theres no nesting. And even the omega-alpha bond was told just in passing, while its very important in alpha-omega dynamic. So, again, what's the important of putting omega-alpha label in the plot when the author didnt go all in?
I was excited with the three alpha's work on omega trafficking. But the author solve it just in the passing - told the readers its done instead walking us through it - same as how Roman was handle, its dissapointing.

Get comfortable you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. Katherine was sharp, with a bright future ahead of her until she met an alpha who took it all away through controls leaving fear in its place and the first chance she get she runs changes her name decides to hide in plain sight works as a cleaner refusing to give up her independence stays alert hopes her past never finds her. Sentinel Security hires her for her just another job but it is run it three sexy alphas, but they are monster from the moment she meets them she knows they are different form the monster she escaped. Griffin is disciplined, Justice is driven, Nolan is grounding, tender, and Declan is playful but loyal to a fault they all see her really see her past the walls she has built they see she has been hurt badly but they also see that sharp mind of her. The more she works with the closer they grow and they more she begins to trust them, they show her it is okay to use her voice and to show her strength but will it lead to something unbreakable, will she trust them enough to learn to let go, will her past come back for her if so will her alphas protect her, and will they show her she can have a HEA?
This het-omegaverse really had the makings to be a fantastic read. There were just a few things that fell short that brought it to 3 stars for me.
First and foremost, this was entirely too rushed. Kit was a great character, she was coping (maybe unhealthily) with her past trauma concerning an abusive alpha and her mother's betrayal. But it took very little contact with the three alphas, Griffin, Declan, and Nolan, for her to be comfortable kissing them and moving further into a physical relationship. The entire story would have benefited from having the romance be a much slower burn with an abused omega being much slower to accept and trust these men.
We also had a problem with the three men being far too similar in personality so that their POVs started to blend. Far too often, I found myself having to go back to the chapter start to check who I was following. They weren't necessarily dull, they just didn't really stand out either.
I just think that with hurt/healing romances, particularly with the omegas being brutalized, there needs to be a slower burn to make the healing and romance make sense. If it leans too much on the biology and basically betraying body, it lacks anything that would make me care.
I received an ARC of this story from Booksprout and I take my reviews seriously. I don't ever five star a book that doesn't deserve it. This was a bit of a difficult review for me.
I enjoy reading omegaverse stories and I've read quite a few as of late. I understand that this is a debut novel for Hinton, and for a debut it was pretty good. This story was just not for me.
The issues I have with the story are completely, totally personal. As someone who deals with cPTSD daily due to trauma, I just couldn't connect to Kit's levels of despair. Please know that I understand that it works different for every person, hence the reason I prefaced this with noting my reaction is very personal.
I felt that the plot with the trafficking was light and the big, bad guy didn't make much sense to me. You just didn't get the sense that he was that kind of bad guy or powerful enough at all. It also felt as if that part of the plot was just glossed over.
The story was okay. I didn't walk away feeling I had wasted my time and I would love to read more of this author as she continues her writing. I see the potential there.
Spice: 5/5 Genre: Omegaverse, Paranormal Romance, Reverse Harem, Dark Romance Content Warnings: Abuse: mental and physical, mentions of sexual assault and trafficking ARC Source: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. PoV: Many Thoughts: Please make sure to read the rigger warnings, the book deals with a lot of trauma. It’s a nice story of trauma and recovery but I would have really loved to have seen the FMC get some therapy as well. The book discusses the complications of what happens to a woman who went through trauma and survived but also now lives with the aftermath of said trauma. Along with how they can flourish and thrive when given the space and encouragement from others and loved ones. I also enjoyed the growth and dynamics between the FMC and the MMCs throughout the book. You throw in the spicy and you get a nice balance between the romance and the more seriousness of working through past trauma.
What a fantastic debut novel by Lily Hinton! This dark reverse harem Omegaverse was just what I was looking for. I devoured this book. It had me giddy with excitement while I read. It's packed full of angst, healing, and protective morally grey alphas who will stop at nothing to care for their omega. **Swoon**
The main characters Kit, Griffin, Nolan, and Declan were captivating. I loved how their story developed and though it's definitely spicy it was emotional too.

This standalone Omegaverse with no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a perfect HEA had me swooning and melting. I absolutely loved it!
"Being broken doesn’t mean being destroyed. Sometimes it means being beautifully transformed. You are not defined by what was done to you, but by how bravely you reclaim yourself."
As someone who has read what seems like every OV novel available on KU, I am confident in sharing this was a very well written OV. I am unsure if this author is new to the indie game, or just writing under a new pen name, but very impressive if this is a first-time publish. I’ve been DNFing so many books lately that just fell flat, and appreciated that this one caught and kept my attention with the right balance of character growth, plot and smut.
Kit is an omega in hiding from her abusive ex, and comes to work for 3 former military alphas working in the security industry. Of course their relationship develops, and the typical damsel-hero plot line unfolds (no hate—this is an enjoyable trope), but in a way that keeps the reader engaged in Kit’s personal journey to find herself with the help of some great supporting characters, devoted MMCs, and hard-won strength.
I hope to read Sophia’s story next- she’s going to be a great FMC!

I mean the first half of this book was so well done. It was definitely like a slow burn of a book and then all of a sudden bam out the gate here we go. It almost felt like the author got bored with her own pace and then just had to throw everything in the kitchen sink at us. And like I really liked the characters… I just don’t understand why it felt like we had to go to break neck speed towards the end. There were so much good in the beginning. Like we got to see her healing from trauma and showing that you can start over after abuse and it just felt like such a solid beginning and then all of a sudden it was like well forget all of that trauma we’re jumping into things with these three guys. Which OK I understand that that’s a big part of the omega verse But at the same time you don’t just negate all of that wonderful buildup that you had. And also it just felt like there were some things that didn’t really get the resolve that they needed.
“Broken doesn’t mean destroyed. Sometimes it means beautifully transformed.” That line perfectly captures the heart of this story.
This book wrecked me—in the rawest, most beautiful way. It’s a journey through pain, survival, and the slow, fragile process of learning to trust again. The writing is haunting and tender, showing how strength can be quiet and healing can come from the most unexpected places.
Kit’s story isn’t just about surviving what broke her—it’s about discovering that she was never truly destroyed, just waiting to become something new. And the way love, safety, and acceptance are woven into her journey… it’s breathtaking.
It’s not an easy read, but it’s a powerful one. A story about reclaiming your worth, finding light in the cracks, and realizing that broken things, when loved, become sacred.
This story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a darker, female omega (Kit) escaping domestic abuse, fated mates, reverse harem romance with male bodyguards/security firm owner alphas, Declan, Nolan, and Griffin. I enjoyed Kit’s resilience and her determination to be free. I enjoyed the alphas’ surprise at their reaction to a presenting beta. I enjoyed the interactions individually with Kit to build individual dyad relationships. I enjoyed the vengeance dealt to Kit’s ex and the work that the males were doing with their company. I enjoyed the secondary characters and am looking forward to the next one in this series.

This was so good. Beautifully Broken Omega adds a knew twist to omegaverse by having an omega become a beta. Kit was in an abusive relationship and her body’s way of protecting itself was to lock away her omega side. She changed into a beta which suited her fine since she had no intention of getting into another relationship. She considered all alphas to be cruel. This meant our 3 MMCs got to know her as a beta. Even though they are scent matches in the end, this isn’t insta love because they don’t recognize her as their mate because her scent has changed. They discover they like Kit because of who she is, not what she is.
This is one of those books I wish I could read for the first time all over again. It's soooo good.
The only complaint I have is that the ending seemed a little rushed. Like I wish we had seen the relationship develop a little more, rather than it just being them essentially spending one night meeting with her and then they are all obsessed. It's very instalovey. Which I don't mind but I still like the read about the relationship growing over time too.
Also there were just some conclusions at the end that seemed rushed like with Kit's mean coworker. All of a sudden Kit is telling her mates this sob story that came out of NO WHERE to justify the bully's actions? It was just a little weird. Would have preferred some kind of confrontation or SOMETHING.
Finding family and love after abuse, Kit's story was powerful and moving. This multiple POV book was a story of rebuilding trust when your life has been nothing but manipulation and learning to take care of yourself. The plot pace was perfect for a several hour read, and the length was just right for making sure the story got told with enough detail to create a world without feeling overwhelming or that the plot and narrative got too hard to follow. The MCs and side characters were balanced and intriguing.

A great story, I enjoyed it. Kit was abused by her alpha and she left him. Two years later and she is still hiding and trying to be invisible to others. She doesn't want to attract attention of other alphas and she doesn't want her ex to find her. She gets job cleaning offices. She meets Griffin, Nolan and Declan. They run a security company by day and hunt traffickers at night. As they meet and get to know Kit, their protective instincts flare. They are attracted to each other and Kit is scared to let them close to her. What happens when her ex shows up? A story of resilience.

Kit ran from an abusive alpha and started over. Her new life now has her cleaning houses (the opposite of her former life) and keeping her head down but she's safe. Or as safe as she can be.
When she's recommended for a much higher-paying job to clean an office building at night she takes it and discovers that the alphas who own the building are her scent matches and this terrifies her.
This story has some very protective alphas, eventual spice and an awful ex. It was good - not my favorite - but entertaining all the same.
I like the story but I got bored every so often especially with how often the author brings up how they smell. Once or twice is enough but the amount its brought up here is overkill and feels like its just mentioned to fill in space rather then bringing anything to the story.
The development of her characters came along well but I also didn't feel like there was any real connections either it just felt a bit flat. I'm probably going to read Sophia's book if thats next but not too sure.
Kit is an omega who suffered from domestic abuse. She escapes her abuser and creates a new life for herself. She eventually gets a job as a cleaning lady at a security firm. Griffin, Nolan & Declan owners of the security firm, use their skills to rid the world of the monsters that lurk in wealthy circles. The ones that think their wealth protects them and they can get away with anything. These three alphas slowly heal Kit through consistent care. The way this book handled such heavy topics of abuse and trauma is compassionate but doesn’t hide from the hard themes. A great read.

I really loved this book. I have been waiting for it to come out and it didn’t disappoint. Only thing I’m sad about is not reading about them bonding because that is one of my favorite parts of omegaverse books. The intense emotions of bonding and feeling each other in their souls is amazing. So I was sad to miss that part. Otherwise this was amazing and can’t wait for Sophie’s story.
This is an incredible read filled with emotional angst, trauma, and pain. Kit is a strong yet damaged female lead who has fled for her life and gone into hiding.
I was on the edge of my seat throughout much of this story and couldn't put it down. It explores themes of trauma, healing, found family, and love. I need Sophie's story; the small glimpse we got of her in this story definitely caught my attention.
This is book 1 of Shattered Omegas series. It is RH and has trauma themes so watch your triggers.
The plot was well developed and paced. World building was excellent. But the characters drove the storyline. They were compelling, complex and perfect together. Recommend.

This was a good read with lots of twists and turns and emotions such as feeling broken, worthless and disgusting and having trust issues. This happens to be book one of the Shattered Omegas it has triggers so please be advised to check them, but highly recommended Kit is a broken omega that ends up being taken in by Griffin, Nolan and Declan because the other Alpha tried to break her and her spirit and was very abusive.
Chapter 26 and 32, I believe, start with the exact same sentence to describe her waking up from being unconscious... plus a word or two.
Repetitive descriptions of scents that are always listed the exact same way every time, which is OFTEN. So its just a laundry list on repeat. No other way of making their scents come to life through imagery?
Not my kind of writing. And the story was sweet, but not mind-grabbing exciting. Almost DNF and it was short as is.
This does not read like a debut book. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I was so engrossed that I did read it in one sitting and even got yelled at by the cat for being late with his dinner. The story flowed well and I never got bored or anything. If there were typos or grammar errors, I didn’t notice them. I am seriously advocating for Becca and Sophie’s stories in the future. Congrats on your first book!
