Love's Landscapes #7

Love's Landscapes Anthology Volume 7

Rate this book
The stories you are about to read celebrate love, sex and romance between men. They are a product of the M/M Romance Group's "Love’s Landscapes promotion sponsored by the Goodreads M/M Romance Group, and each anthology is published as a gift to you.

What Is Love’s Landscapes?

The Goodreads M/M Romance Group invited members to choose a photo and pen a letter asking for a short M/M romance story inspired by the image; authors from the group were then encouraged to select a letter and write an original tale. The result was an outpouring of creativity that shone a spotlight on the special bond between M/M romance writers and the people who love what they produce.

210 stories were submitted and have now been published as a seventeen volume set with five additional bonus volumes, titled Love’s Landscapes. This edition is Volume 7.

The stories in this collection may contain sexually explicit content and are intended for adult readers. They may contain content that is disagreeable or distressing to some readers. The M/M Romance Group strongly recommends that each reader review the General Information section before each story for story tags as well as for content warnings.

About the author

Posy Roberts started reading romance when she was young, but textbooks eventually replaced the novels, and she somehow existed without reading for fun. When she finally picked up a romance years later, it was like slipping on a soft hoodie . . . that didn’t quite fit right. She wanted something more.

Now she wanted to read about queer people falling in love. She wanted to explore beyond the happily ever after and watch characters navigate the unpredictability of life as they create their happy homes. So Posy sat down at her keyboard to write the books she wanted to read.

Her stories have been USA Today’s “Happily Ever After” Must-Reads and Rainbow Award finalists. When she’s not writing or editing, she’s spending time with loved ones and doing anything possible to get out of grocery shopping and cooking.

This volume had more contemporary romances in it, which should please fans of the genre. While contemporary isn't my favorite, I did think these were well done. For me, the most entertaining stories, however, were those with a fantasy element. "Foxes Over Flowers" by J. Colby was a charming shifter romance that had me smiling the whole time--definitely worth a 5-star rating. "Get Off My Case" by Lisa Oliver was another good paranormal romance, though I would have liked to have seen more character development after the harsh way it began between the heroes. "Guarded" by Kim Fielding was definitely violent, but it was very well done. The story had a great fantasy world and kept me anxiously turning the pages to find out what happened next. As a whole, these anthologies are great, and I think it's incredible what the participating authors have done.
