This was such a great book! I had read the first book in the Hatley Family series, The Last One You Loved, in anticipation of this book since it’s a spin-off of that series, however, I would suggest reading The Last Dance You Saved instead if you’re only going to read one of the Hatley Family series because it will give you more background and insight into some parts of this book. It’s not completely necessary since they’re all standalones, but if you want a better, more clear idea of Fallon’s past, it would be best to read TLDYS first. I wasn’t completely in the dark by not reading TLDYS first, but I would have liked more background on the past, so for me personally I would’ve liked to read that book before The Moments You Were Mine. However, not doing so did not take anything away from this book or the story because you get enough of a look into the past to understand what’s happening now, especially because there is a dual timeline in this book (it starts in the past, then morphs into present tense with small looks into the past via text messages between the MCs). I liked the story here and seeing Fallon try to find her way in life, and I also enjoyed seeing her interact throughout the past and present with Parker. Seeing everything that led to Parker being a single dad was hard, but he put in so much effort to be a good guardian to Theo and that was amazing to see. There was a touch of mystery in this story and that kept me on my toes! Seeing Fallon and Parker navigate the mystery and find their way to each other in the present was amazing to see. If you’re looking for a slow burn, single dad, suspenseful story with all the yearning, check this one out!
Quotes I Loved:
"This was lightning and thunder. Stormy skies and the best of sunlit days. Every single particle of my being was vibrating with life. Joy and pleasure swept through me. Everything I'd ever wanted, every dream I'd had, and every favorite memory was nothing compared to these stunning seconds when our mouths were joined." -Fallon
"This wasn't me accepting a new obligation. This was me being lucky enough to catch a falling star and keep it. She needed to know it, and she needed to hear it from me." -Parker
