At this exact moment, your body is trying to tell you something—are you listening? It doesn't speak in words, but it IS communicating—through tight shoulders, shallow breaths, chronic headaches, clenched jaws, restless legs, sleep issues, gut problems, extra weight, fatigue, emotional numbness, a feeling of heaviness that just won't go away, and many more.
These are somatic messages—your body's way of saying, "I'm NOT okay." And somatic therapy helps you understand and respond to these messages, enabling you to finally experience a true sense of calm and relief.

However, her trajectory took a significant turn after experiencing “a burnout and a breakdown.” She then returned to her first love—writing, complementing it with her deep passion for psychology. This transformation marked the beginning of her new journey. One focused on unraveling the intricate connections between human behavior and mental healing.
Today, as a dedicated author, Ava seamlessly integrates the benefits of psychotherapy and holistic practices, offering readers a comprehensive roadmap to improved mental health. Her empathetic writing style creates a safe and nurturing environment for readers to embark on their personal journeys of healing.

This is a practical guide designed to help readers reduce stress, heal trauma, and regulate their nervous systems through body-based techniques. With over 70 illustrated exercises, the book emphasises accessibility and simplicity—requiring just 10 minutes a day to engage in somatic healing practices like breathwork, grounding, and vagus nerve activation. I liked the fact that it is open to all ages. I liked the tone of how the writer spoke to the audience. How there were visuals to support the understanding and it was SIMPLE and compassionate. Open to anyone seeking to reconnect with their body and manage stress through gentle, daily practices. Great stuff with freebies too :).

Somatic Therapy Workbook | Just 10 Mins a Day (Book 2 of Heal, Feel, Thrive) by Ava Walters
I’ve read Ava Walters before and enjoyed her work, so I picked this up — and it didn’t disappoint.
This workbook is exactly what I’ve been looking for. The premise is simple but powerful: “This book helps you decipher your body's messages to you. You'll explore why your body holds tension and how your past shapes your present.”
Right now I’m in a very similar place to where the author was when she discovered ACT and somatic therapy — moving from burnout into what feels like a full-blown breakdown. That made the material resonate even more.
What I loved most:
Straightforward & accessible — easy to understand, not wordy or overwhelming.
Practical structure — unlike so many “workbooks” that are just long lectures, this one is full of actual exercises, prompts, and space to write.
Supportive tone — the resources, tips, and reflections make it feel like the author is guiding you gently back to yourself.
It’s packed with practical tools to calm your nervous system, ease body pain, and reconnect with yourself. I especially appreciate how much it feels like a real workbook I can use daily, not just read.
If you’re curious about somatic therapy, or if you’re feeling stressed, burned out, or disconnected from your body, this is a fantastic place to start.
