Fresh out of college, Sophia has one no relationships. Love wrecked her mother’s life, and Sophia’s not about to make the same mistake. She’s got dreams to chase, goals to meet—and if the occasional one-night stand helps her unwind? No harm done.
Until him.
The stranger with eyes like molten gold. The one who sets her blood on fire with a single glance. What was supposed to be a wild, forgettable night turns into something far more dangerous when Sophia discovers the man she slept with is a dragon shifter... and he’s marked her as his mate.
Now, he’s everywhere—charming, infuriating, and utterly impossible to ignore. He’s tearing down every wall she’s built, igniting desires she swore she’d never indulge. And the worst part? She might be starting to want him to.

It is pretty fade-to-black, but honestly the drama was exactly what I was looking for. He's down bad for her and she's a queen ready to make him work for it. It was a slow burn as he had to work to prove she should trust him with being more than a one night stand, to being a forever option. Then all the background drama with her mom's bad luck at work and then being set up at work.
So, no 3rd act breakup! This one comes down to external conflict and it was great. I think I actually liked this one more than the first, but honestly, I really want to reread the first now haha.
This is a book that was completely effortless to read. I sat down and before I knew it I’m 200+ pages in, with no plans to stop. The story’s that engaging! Sophia is an extremely determined FMC who’s focused on her goals and keeping her sky high walls in place. She’s looking for a job where she can use her skills from school and make an impact on lowering her student debt. Living with her mom wakes her up to additional challenges and soon money becomes a bigger issue. Luckily she has a secret admirer who is willing to pay her best friend money in exchange for any tidbits that might get him a chance at breaking through Sophia’s walls. Even though Sophia isn’t interested dragon shifters aren’t known for giving up their mate. I love that this pair was introduced in His White Moonlight because that means I’ve been waiting to read this book for a while and it did not disappoint!
I enjoy Haag’s writing very much and have read most of her books. This is an entertaining read but it feels a lot like Wrenly’s story…. Female MC type, similar plot twists, predictable kidnappings… same villain style. Very repetitive and drags on.
Sophia and Konni had me laughing, like a crazy lady. The humor and wit was fantastic and kept me thoroughly entertained. Sophia (the feisty, biting heroine) and she bites lol, she is now officially on my list of favorite heroines. Konni (the sweet, softy, hot-chocolate-soothing hero), the man is witty, completely charming. I truly enjoyed the side characters, the hilarious "snack pack" side characters lol still has me cracking up. Now where can i find myself besties like Sophia's girlfriends because they alone are a hoot and a half.
The take aways are Good Humor, witty characters, family unit, amazing side characters, the main characters are entertaining, smut level is tasteful, slow burn but you don't even know it, all in all a fun book to read. It keeps you guessing and laughing along with the swooning. I recommend it, honestly you can't go wrong with any of Melissa haag's books, they are always a good time and leave you feeling refreshed and in a good mood.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Which changes nothing on my opinion on this book or any other of Melissa haag's books , I truly enjoyed myself. Thank you Melissa for the many entertaining years and comfort your books have brought me.
What a sinfully amazing five-star read. I loved the first story in this series, but this one blew it out of the water, I don’t know why but Sophia had me twisted up. I really loved the way this story unfolded and revealed little parts of the story, giving details as you read and just pulling you deeper and deeper, and wrapping you into the story. I really loved how you could tell Konnie’s relationships as you got his name, I’m the same depending how well you know me, will depend on what you can call me, it’s the details like that, that just make this a sublime story.
We met Konni in His White Moonlight and now it's his turn. After scenting his mate at the end of HWM, we had a idea of what Sophia was in for, and yet, I still never could have predicted how deep and complex their story would be. It's a longer book, but it never felt unnecessary or too long to me. Though there are those who are threatened lending to dangerous and mysterious twists the characters must overcome. I loved these characters and hope we get to have more books in the series.
What a great read. Absolutely loved Sophia. She was such a strong and determined woman. She had a plan of action and she was living by it. Up until one night with Konni, who she had no idea was a drain shifter. Or the fact that she was his mate. She was having no part of it. I loved the back forth with these two. I couldn’t stop reading this one I got started. These two just had me so invested. It was such a great book to read. I can’t wait to read more by this author.
Sophia and Konni had me laughing so much. Sophia is a feisty, biting heroine who quickly became one of my favorites, and Konni is sweet, witty, and completely charming. The humor, banter, and side characters—especially the hilarious "snack pack"—made this such a fun read. Add in a great family dynamic, a tasteful amount of spice, and a slow burn romance that never drags, and you've got an entertaining, feel-good book.
I was obsessed with this from start to finish. Everything about Konni and Sophia’s relationship was hilarious, intense, and coveted. And The “Who-done-it” mystery with the very real and tangible fear for certain situations 👀 kept me glued to my kindle screen. Thoroughly enjoyed His Flash Mate.
This is the second book in the series. It is based on different main characters, and I enjoyed it more than the previous book. It was an entertaining story with humour and great banter.

Honestly, I have very much enjoyed other series by this author, such as Resurrection Series and Judgements series, but this for me, I’m sorry to say is meh. Maybe the author is just being hurried on deadlines and can’t quite give it that spark that she has.
