Every issue in the modern defining era of Daredevil rolled into one novel, absolutely phenomenal continuation of what the character truly is, an angry, vengeful, yet good man who just wants to help people

This book is absolutely terrible. It is very easily the worst Daredevil comic I have ever seen. For starters, Muse is done dirty… AGAIN. Blindspot is barely in this one and he’s one of the best parts about this entire run easily, so that sucked. The story tries to do WAY too much. From weird priest dragons, to Daredevil riding a horse into battle, to all of the absolute RANDOMNESS that makes up this mess of a story. Bullseye is barely in this run and of course, both times that he is he gets done terribly. Losing fights that I kid you not, last for MAYBE one page. The final arc of this book is probably one of the worst things I’ve ever read. Not just in comics, but in all of it. Every novel, every magazine, hell even that newspaper I read that one time was better than this slop. The artwork is really good for the first 75% of this book as well but whoever did the last 25% or so is absolutely horrendous. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but this book is truly a pile of filth and I cannot recommend this to anyone. 2/10.

And here goes the third and final reprint TPB version of Soule Era. It has been one hell of a ride.

When I first left off DD at the end of Waid & Samnee Vol.4 era, Matt was in San Francisco with Kirsten, life was good, he was out, etc. etc. so I didn't really wanna come back to DD/Marvel just to see everything softly rebooted and go all over again, but I was wrong in the sense that Soule did an excellent job overall.

He introduced us Muse, which might be the first character ever to give me chills and goosebumps while reading, he did reveal the "erasing" of Matt's ID in an adequate way, and he also paid attention to the past.

Was a shame he could not include Kirsten but hey, no one is perfect, and maybe the story would not have turned out the way it is now if she was in it all along.

The only part I didn't like in this book was Death of Daredevil arc. Just... Why? It was kind of lame actually, and I just checked the TPB Vol.8 for that stand alone arc and saw that people mostly agree.

The Mayor Fisk & Mayor Murdock parts were just wonderful, especially considering what a shitshow Disney/Marvel has made with the TV series even though they had such a great adaptation opportunity, so after those just to see a 3-issue arc with Mike and then a 4-issue arc with Matt "dying" was kinda lame.

He could not stick the landing, and maybe that was just to leave them off to Zdarsky for Vol.6 era of DD, but still considering all the previous 40+ issues, Soule could have done something magnificent with the ending, but couldn't. That's my only solid criticism, otherwise, near to perfection.

Thanks Mr. Soule!! See you in your Image Comics stand-alone stories!!

A fitting conclusion that sets up the concept of Wilson Fisk as mayor of New York that integrates this work well with the larger Marvel entourage including one of the most unique Inhumans to ever grace the page and a consequence with lasting impacts on the Matt’s family.
