What do you think?

And the World Spins Anyway
This a love letter to real life, however it shows up; an antidote to the highlight reel that is social media, a tribute to the unfinished, the unfiltered, the uncertain.
In this debut collection of poetry, stories and questionable choices, Georgie Jones, with her signature wit and warmth, explores the exquisite messiness of modern existence and makes the chaos feel, somehow, like home. She can't promise any answers, but she can make you feel a little less alone in not having them.

i lost count of how many times i wrote on the margins ‘why are you in my head’ and ‘YESSSSS’

I absolutely read every word in Georgie's adorable voice in my head. So charming, so lovely and so true. If you're not following her on social media, you simply must. She has a way of making your heart warm, reminding you of the wonderfulness of this life.

The only reason this lost a star is because I prefer listening to/watching Georgie’s spoken word poetry. I was pleased to read a few old favourites that I’ve previously saved (In Praise of Platonic Love, Ode to the Ladies’ Loo and Virgin Active, Crinklewood) and the new-to-me poem ‘Brunch’ made me cry.

So good. So beautiful. I cried because I didn't realise I was at the end and wanted so much more. I will come back to this collection time and time again.
"People like to measure worth by output, so they ask questions like 'what do you do', and secretly they mean 'what are you worth', the little sneakies! Creativity gets folded up and filed under hobby unless it's accompanied by prestige. Like, you're only an actor if you've been in a film they've seen. You're only an artist if your painting has hung beside a small plaque in a cold room. Your current existence is a warm-up for when you really start Doing Stuff...We've become so obsessed with doing, we've forgotten about being, and being, surely, is the whole point."

A haiku review:
Bestie sent me book
I read allowed to flatmates
That is poetry
----
An essential read for all the girlies, joyous, confronting and relatable all in the same breath.

I love her words, and I’ve listened to her enough to be able to read these with her voice, her timing. A book I’ll keep dipping back into frequently.

I officially have a favorite poet. I didn't want this to end.

Surprising no one, I have a new favorite poet.
I honestly can't recall how I happened upon this title but I put it on a list to read soon because I've been reading and writing more poetry lately. Yay!
Then I realized the audiobook was available on Libby and the ebook was available on Hoopla soooooo I borrowed both of them and read while I listened.
Georgie's words are trembling with love and life. She might just remind you how brilliant you are, how beautiful your friends are, how breathtaking each and every small moment of your life. She will give you permission to be gorgeously imperfect and still worth everything. Oh, and the footnotes! THE FOOTNOTES!!!
Truthfully, this book made me want to be friends with Georgie. What an absolutely brilliant human! She is not blind to the heartbreak or ugliness of the world but she sees the miracle in everyday moments and that's something I'm working on doing. One day at a time.

Love love love Georgie! Sadly, this collection was missing many of my favourite Georgie poems. I also don’t think you can beat Georgie reading her poems in her own inimitable style- for me that’s where the real magic lies.

Absolutely beautiful collection read whilst on my honeymoon by the sea on an Italian beach: perfetto! A very positive read.

I love the soft edges and the permission to slow down. Reading her work, you can hear her speak.

My daughter bought me this after seeing Georgia Jones live in Lancaster, and I loved it!
Top poems I found:
Virgin Active Cricklewood
Mr Whippy Why Not
What Do You Want To Do With Your Life
All the poems were refreshing, honest, and real, a tonic to read and in many cases, re-read.

This book of poetry and essays is so beautiful I don’t know how to put it into words. I nodded in agreement or sucked in a breath from the sheer beautiful shock of a phrase more times than I can count. I took my time reading it, taking in one or two poems a day, just to make it last longer.

georgie jones i would go to war for you!!

When I say I’m obsessed with Georgie Jones, I mean that I would spend forever analyzing her work just for the chance of one day possibly somewhat sounding like her. Georgie’s approach to the world - as a messy ball of string that you can’t help but love and hate and attempt to detangle for about 10 minutes before you give up and leave it as it is, because maybe that’s just how it’s supposed to be - is straight magic. Not just a little sprinkle, like the whole jar of pixie dust.
I plan to reread this over and over until I have it memorized, until I can spout these poems in her beautiful lilting accent.
All this may be a bit extreme, but what this all goes to say is, these poems encompass what it is to live life as a woman. Point blank period. And I don’t think anyone else could do it quite like she did.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
I really liked this collection a lot. I’m learning that I adore hearing how poets see the world, it’s often so much more beautiful and observant than how I naturally look at things, and I love getting to learn from that. Georgie Jones feels like someone I’d genuinely want to be friends with; her voice on the page is funny, charming, intelligent, and full of heart. These poems made me smile, made me think, and gave me that emotional whoosh in my chest that only good writing can do. I had such a great time reading this, and I have no complaints.

5 stars: love it and bought it
I actually have not quite finished this read through yet, but I don’t believe it’s meant to be read through in order to finish, but in order to enjoy, to sink into and trudge through. I love her poems and the way she is able to see the world. It’s the same world but the view is made to be quite beautiful, and funny, and honest. What a breath of loveliness into my stale lungs longing for more of what this is.

I read this in one day. Her love for life just radiated off the pages and reminded me to appreciate the little things. Georgie is also the epitome of a “girl’s girl”, and this felt like a celebration of girlhood, though I’m also certain that you don’t need to fall into that category to appreciate the thoughts she shares

Gorgeous poetry filled with celebrations of female friendship, a love for life and some really great metaphors.
Favourite poems:
Does anyone know what we’re meant to be doing?
Everything is poetry if you’re in the mood for it
Single and entirely unbothered about mingling
Virgin Active, Cricklewood
Don’t try this at home, kids, but I’ve put a diamond in my belly with glue

I am not Georgie Jones's intended audience (or maybe I am?), but I loved her collection of poems. I wish she had an audio release of her book. I bet she'd add extra layers and make the experience even better.
Favorite poems:
"Worst-Case Scenario"
"You Don't Have to If You Don't Want To/A Soft Rebellion"
"A Contradiction"
"If I am Ever Called a Girlboss"

After seeing georgie live in February I had to buy her book. Her poetry is something else, it’s so relatable yet beautiful and she truly encompasses what life is like in all its beauty and craziness. I laughed and cried at her live performance and reading the poems often gave me goose bumps thinking back to such a special night!

Wow wow wow! I am not a poet so any words I write will not do this collection justice therefore this will be brief. Every poem hit. Georgie Jones is the voice of my generation, of women figuring out their place in the world and just trying to enjoy the small things and fun with it in the meantime.

I loved it.
Georgie’s poems are funny, honest and insightful.
Sometimes I think poetry has a way of finding you when you need it the most.
I didn’t want to read this book, I NEEDED to read this book.
Thanks for sharing Georgie ❤️

Georgie Jones has a way of making every poem feel like a little smooch on the forehead. I couldn’t get enough. In the darkness that is our current social/political reality, she offers a soft golden ray of sunshine to curl up in. Cannot recommend enough.

I found Georgie on Tiktok and was enchanted by her spoken poetry. Bought the book to support her. It was a delight to read here and there. It took me a few months to finish because it was a "cozy up and read kind of book" and life hasn't had a lot of "cozy up and read" opportunities.

Absolutely love this collection of poems. I saw Georgie Jones perform some of them at her tour show and she did not disappoint. The book is heartfelt and hilarious in equal measure. Such a joy from cover to cover.

Loved this one! I don’t normally prefer poetry but my sister shared a poem from this with me and I remembered it when I needed a book out of my comfort zone for a reading challenge. Funny yet heartfelt and a speedy read — it was a win for me!

Brilliant. I can think of two modern writers I am actually jealous of. Georgie Jones is one of them. 🩷

My favorite book of 2025. So glad Instagram thought I would be interested in her. Watch two reels and ordered her book. She speaks truth. Adding “hear her live” to my bucket list.

I loved this. Ended up buying three more copies to gift to my gal friends because they all need to read it too! 💜
