Loved it! The characters are so likable. From grumpy sunshine Ethan who is being stretch very thin to Honey who is an organized, by the book, wishing well auditor. Their banter had me laughing. I was surprised how quickly their small town romance unfolded. Along the way all the mishaps that happen on the orchard where the wishing well sits, added that touch of humor along with a humanistic element. Pickles, the goat, has a way of softening peoples harsh edges that is endearing as well.

Sweet closed-door romance, small town vibes meets an unusual magic world. Honey is all rules and big city business until she is sent on a wild [goat] chase in a witchy middle-of-nowhere town to figure out what is going on with the rogue wishing well on Ethan's farm. Ethan's three young daughters were a real highlight of the book, honestly would have loved even more of their meddling and shenanigans. The magical world building was lacking quite a bit for me, leaving me scratching my head through a lot of the book because I did not have a good understanding of how the magic worked, who had it, and what the role of the bureau was exactly. I don't think it overly impacted the story but did distract me at times. By the end, I do feel I have much better understanding (though maybe not every question was answered). The mystery and conclusion of the girls' mother was also a bit weird and did not satisfy my curiosity by the end. I did really like a lot of the supporting characters and was pleasantly surprised to see there is a book that provides some back story to the owners of "The Inn Between". Not sure I'll rush to it, but I definitely wouldn't mind visiting Brim's Hollow and the motley crew of characters again. Overall, this was cute, quick, and enjoyable.

Thanks to the author and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the ARC! Buddy read with my side piece book club.

I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy from the author

Firstly, I would die for Pickles 🐐
Secondly, the book has a map of the small town (completely underrated. We need more maps!)

This book had me hooked from the start. The pacing?
Perfect. The plot? Perfect. Execution? Perfect. My first 5⭐️ read of 2026 and I'll be raving to everyone I know about this
book

Honey and Ethan had such a beautiful relationship that developed slowly (the slow-burn was *chef's kiss*). It wasn't instant, they fell in love through small actions and quiet glances. I love that it didn't feel instant or rushed in any way. This is a closed door romance which I also found quite refreshing

Emma, Brooke and Melly are WILD and I live for it! They give their dad hell with their crazy antics. The townspeople were chaotic, a little bit odd and a whole lot loveable

Danika mixes magic with real world amazingly. It felt so real and I loved every moment!

I was generously given access to ARC read As You Wish.

🐐 The story is cute, entertaining, cozy, has character, and most importantly, heart.

🐐I absolutely fell in love with the story and these people fairly quickly. I love that the town is quirky and filled with magic and sometimes in unexpected places.

🐐 I enjoy that our leading lady (a magic auditor) is smart, organized, likes to fix things (even if she gets herself in a little trouble for it), and ultimately wants to help others. She’s very lovable.

🐐The leading male character (farmer, single dad of 3) has flaws, is rough around the edges, stubborn, but is protective of his girls and his home, which is endearing.

🐐There are 3 wild but sweet kids, loose farm animals (surprise, there’s might be a goat), and lots of little moments that add up to perfect additions to this story.

🐐The writing is vivid without droning on. It’s easy to read and has charm. It’s a perfect cozy read that has magic and will have you smiling and wanting more.

🐐 I am so happy this was my very first ARC read! I look forward to watching out for more books from Danika Brown.

Honey Braxton is an auditor for the Bureau of Magical Compliance, specializing in wishing wells. She heads to Brim’s Hollow to audit the well on Ethan Hale's orchard, hoping this routine assignment will finally get her the promotion that she has been working towards. When she arrives, she finds out that Ethan is a single dad with three kids, and his oldest daughter has been making wishes to keep their farm going. Honey plans to finish her work and move on, but as she spends more time at the farm, she starts to realize that there might be more to life than upholding the rules.

As You Wish is a wonderful cozy fantasy. I enjoyed every page and knew from the start it would be a five-star read for me. Brim’s Hollow reminds me of a magical Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls with the chaotic town meetings and festivals. The slow-burn romance and found-family trope were done beautifully, and I couldn’t get enough of Pickles the Goat. It looks like there might be a possible sequel in this amazing series, and I cannot wait to revisit the town of Brim’s Hollow.

If you like small-town romances with a magical component and a found-family trope, I highly recommend this book.

As You Wish is out April 14th

Thank you to Danika Brown for the opportunity to review an advanced copy of As You Wish in exchange for an honest review.

This story follows Honey, an auditor for the Bureau of Magical Compliance who specializes in wishing wells. Her latest assignment brings her to the farm of Ethan and his three daughters in the small town of Brim Hollow. As Honey begins her audit, she quickly discovers that the girls have been using the wishing well to help their family orchard, their father, and to quietly work through family conflicts.

As the magic unfolds, Honey must decide whether to rush through the case and move on toward a promotion within the bureau—or stay and help a handsome farmer and his daughters navigate magic and possibly save their orchard.

This was a low-to-no spice read with a gentle touch of magic. It’s very different from what I normally read, but I still found it enjoyable. I loved stepping outside my comfort zone and seeing how light magic was woven into everyday life. This would be a great starting point for readers who want to transition from contemporary romance into romance with magical or fantasy elements.

I already have a few friends in mind who will really enjoy this book, and I can’t wait to share it with them!

Thank you so much to Danika Brown for reaching out and sharing her new book with me. I’m excited to check out her other novel, The Inn Between.

Our book club was given an ARC by Author (thank you!!!)

It was a super cute, sweet, cozy, family oriented romance with a splash of magic. I could just imagine the fun & quirky town and feel the chaos the girls brought to their Dad's life!

There were 5 girls on our farm growing up & the description of a baby goat in the house, and running from chickens & roosters cracked me up. It's so accurate!

The author did a good job portraying a single Dad, keeping a farm afloat while raising his girls - all his struggles included. I love how the community still supported them and was there for then, even when he was stubborn. Honey, the FMC, was a perfect disruption in their life in every way.

If you're looking for a magical, warm & fuzzy feel-good book, this one is for you! Guaranteed to bring smiles to your face.

First ARC read & was such a lush one to begin with! Wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but this story was a breath of fresh air- fun, light hearted & sweet 💕 I haven’t read any magic systems like this before & it was easy to understand! Definitely feel that the backstories/world could have been built a little bit more, but just loved reading an easy story that made me smile & forget real life for a few days.

Thank you Danika for the early copy!! I was fortunate to see her post on Threads and she sent me a copy. As soon as I saw magic bureau, I was in. This book was the perfect amount of cozy fantasy romance, which I am very into these days. I also really love the idea that there is this magical bureau overseeing the use of magic that integrated with the real world. Ethan and his girls are the sweetest little family and we all would’ve fallen in love with them if we were Honey. I highly recommend this book if you need a cozy hug.

As you Wish follows the characters Honey who works for the Bureau of Magical Compliance and Ethan, a single dad trying to keep his family’s home and Orchard alive. Honey ends up on his Orchard just trying to do her job and keep rules intact when she finds so much more. Now I don’t want to spoil too much but this was a fantastic read. The short chapters were the best and if life didn’t get in the way I would have read this in one sitting. I’ve read about 150 books since I’ve started reading and I’ve never really come across a small town book with magic. It was a nice twist and not something a lot of people write. I cant say I’ve read a book like this before. I feel so special being a ARC reader for this book!

A very sweet closed door romance with a touch of magic, it would make a fabulous hallmark movie

There's a magical wishing well, a cute farmer, his 3 adorable daughters, a goat named Pickles and Honey the rule abiding city girl coming to audit the well

The magic system is not explained, so you need to accept it rather than understand and the story is slightly rushed, especially the ending but its a sweet cozy story that is worth the read

Thanks to Danika Brown for the ARC opportunity 💕

As You Wish is the 2nd story from Danika that I’ve read, and I have become a big fan. She does a fantastic job of blending emotional moments, romance, fun banter with the cast and paranormal themes into a heartwarming tale that is a true joy to read. It is easy to recommend this story, along with Danika’s other works.

Everything about this book gave me the same warm and cozy feeling that my yearly rewatch of Practical Magic does. Every chapter was like sitting down with a warm cup of cider and visiting with old friends.

Brim’s Hollow is such a delightful setting and Danika Brown does such a good job of painting the picture of the setting and all the unique characters who inhabit it. No page or line ever feels wasted and none of the side characters ever seem one dimensional. The whole town comes to life in vivid color in the same way Honey and Ethan do as they trade off chapters.

I thought Honey and Ethan were such relatable characters and I found myself wishing (pun intended) so hard for their happy ending. I think anyone who enjoys a cozy rom com book with a little dash of magic will absolutely love this and I cannot wait to explore more of the Brim’s Hollow universe in future books!

What I Loved: 🥰

The Chemistry: The connection between the characters felt so natural. Their genuine moments made the relationship feel truly heartfelt.

The Writing Style: Smooth and immersive! It did a great job of balancing light, fun scenes with deeper emotional themes.

The Mascot: Pickles the goat is absolutely adorable and such a highlight. 🐐

The Verdict:
If you enjoy cozy, small-town romances with a lot of heart, I highly recommend adding this to your TBR. It feels like a warm hug in book form!

I was so very kindly sent this as an ARC and I really enjoyed it and will be reading the inn between now, as I love Danika Brown’s beautifully cosy and comforting writing style 💕

There is no spice, just kissing and fade to black - just realised I don’t mention that in my review and some people probably wanna know 🫑

My Fable Review:

Oh wow this was so lovely, cosy and heartwarming - it felt like a warm hug, such a comfort read 🥰

I absolutely loved how Honey fell in love not just with Ethan but with the whole family and the town, it was about her finding herself and where she belonged - it really was so touching 💕

I also loved the inclusion of magic, the whole thing felt very unique and it just worked really well. Also the plot was so good, it was an addictive read - I was so invested in finding out what was happening on the farm!

Only reason it’s a 4 star is because the timeline felt a bit too rushed for me personally, the pacing was a bit off and I feel like we needed much more information on Ethan and Leticias relationship and history to full comprehend it!

Are you looking for a new favorite cozy fantasy? Look no further! Seriously, this is it!
I’m adding Danika Brown as a future auto buy, and I’m looking forward to her coming books! 😍 thank you to the author for the ARC copy and allowing me to read this story.

This book centers around Honey, your typical good girl, career driven workaholic from a big city who meets the grumpy, stressed out single dad Ethan, with too many high walls but with a heart of gold for his daughters.

This story is magical to say the least, not only because it has magic in it (magical wells and wishes), but because the characters are authentic, the dialogues flows like actual people are having a conversation and it’s real growth throughout the book. And the setting? On an orchard! Fruit trees, a wishing well, farm animals and the cutest sidekick: Pickles, the baby goat 🥹

This is so much more than a cozy fantasy romance - it’s a story about coming together, learning as you go and pushing your own comfort zone to be bigger.
I’ve laughed, chuckled, snorted and cried. I think it’s a total bulls eye from Danika Brown and this book will stay with me 🥰

As You Wish is the perfect cozy fantasy for anyone who’s struggled with not being enough, if you crave a little magic and if you’ve ever wished for a calmer life. This was a story I didn’t know I needed to read! ❤️

As You Wish comes out on April 14th and will be available on KU! ❤️‍🔥
PS. Run, don’t walk, to this cozy fantasy!

Thank you to the author for providing an advanced reader copy. This is my honest review.

This is a cozy romance set in a tight-knit, chaotic, and magical small town. The story follows Honey and Ethan, two characters shaped by their pasts, which influence how they navigate and interact with the world.

Honey is methodical, a rule-follower, well-organized, and someone who seeks and likes to be in control. However, sometimes she loses focus on what’s really important and the consequences of her actions while following those rules.

Ethan is guarded, projecting strength to convince himself and others he can handle everything on his own. He has 3 children, an orchard, and a few goats. He is dealing not only with the responsability of raising all of his kids (IFKYK 🐐) but also keeping the farm afloat financially.

Their dynamic is compelling from the start, and watching them gradually open up is deeply satisfying. Their emotional growth feels authentic, and their journey toward healing and connection is both heartwarming and hopeful. The story’s charm is further elevated by the small-town chaos which adds a layer of humor and uniqueness that makes this book truly stand out.

I was kindly gifted an arc of this book by the author.

Baby goat bestie
Grumpy Single dad farmer
Small town shenanigans
Type A FMC
Meddling kids
Town bake-off
Magical wishing well
Sweet closed door romance

Where do I start with this book 🥺 I loved it. It was such a cutesy cosy feel romance I just couldn’t put it down.

The story follows Honey who is a wishing well auditor that likes everything organised and neat. She is sent to a small town in the middle of nowhere to inspect a well that hasn’t been audited in years.

When she arrives she meets Ethan who is a grumpy single father who is stretched to his limit trying to cope and hates the authorities. Ethan has 3 kids and has some loose farm animals one being a goat called Pickles 🥺

The story unfolded beautifully and had me in my cosy fuzzy feels for days after reading. If you like practical magic and hocus pocus I think you will love this book.

Thank you to the author for allowing me to review this book before its release date.

Received as an ARC from the author - thank you!

A cosy fantasy read that feels like a warm Sunday afternoon.

It’s a closed door romance set in a magical world - but here is the twist: there are rules, and paperwork, and audit reports, and our FMC is a pro at it. She is a part of magical bureau, tasked with a serious task of auditing an old wishing well, a turning point for her administrative career. He is set on not letting her do her job because of… you’ll find out soon enough :)

Why you’ll love it:

✅ big-city-girl meets small-town-guy clash dynamics - check
✅ a genuinely loving and caring single dad that will make your heart melt - check
✅ a direct, no-nonsense FMC who actually says what she thinks - check
✅ magic bureau and magic bureaucracy - apparently surviving bureaucracy in real life wasn't enough for me, and I needed it in my fantasy too
✅ BONUS - the cutest baby goat sidekick 💕

If I had one wish for the wishing well though... I wish the side characters had more depth. The small town had a bunch of sweet people involved in the storyline, but I feel that they didn’t get enough screen time to really connect with them, which is exactly why they ended up being just “a bunch of sweet people” for me.

There’s also very little explanation of how the magic works. That didn’t bother me personally, since it's not the focus of the story, but it’s something to keep in mind if you prefer more detailed world-building.

Overall - a very enjoyable feel-good book that delivers exactly what it promises.

As You Wish by Danika Brown is the ultimate in magical cozy tales, and focuses on Honey, a magical wishing well auditor, and Ethan, a single dad of three girls who is struggling to get by. Their paths cross when Honey is assigned to audit the wishing well located on Ethan's farm. And then magic ensues!

Of all the characters I've met this year, Honey is at the top of my favorites list. Growing up with two parents who were more whimsical and less responsible, Honey's unstable childhood led to an adulthood that is rule-driven and strict, with very little flexibility. After meeting Ethan and his daughters, however, her type A outlook starts to soften as she begins to break her rules in the name of love.

All of the characters in this story are well developed and real; I found myself rooting for the main characters of course, but I also wanted to get to know the many side characters and their stories too.

This is such a feel good story, I devoured it in one sitting. From the orchard farm setting, the single dad with his charming daughters, THE most adorable goat, and a relatable and lovable FMC, this story is the ultimate in cozy Hallmark-movie vibes. I absolutely adored it!

Thank you to Danika Brown, Victory Editing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this eARC. All opinions are my own, and I give this 5 heartwarming, magical stars!

Soooo cute!!
This was such a sweet story of first, real love and second chances! With just a touch of magic.
I fell in love with the MMC…he felt so real and transparent. Unlike most stories, where they are wealthy, stable, and usually well put together aside from being cocky and risky in how they treat their women…this guy was real and honest. Single dad with 3 girls, and just seemed to never have a stroke of good luck.
Until Honey.
Honey always makes things sweeter! And for Ethan, it was just the right amount to what he needed in life.
I deeply enjoyed this story and was so excited to get this ARC!
If you’re looking for a sweet, slow burn…this is it!
And honestly, I could’ve used more of Pickles. Definitely a highlight to the story! (IYKYK) 😏

BOOK REVIEW — As You Wish by Danika Brown
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Magical, heartfelt, and absolutely beautiful.

Honey Braxton lives by the rules. As an auditor for the Bureau of Magical Compliance, she ensures magic—especially wishing wells—is used correctly. No exceptions. No emotional attachments.

Until she’s sent to Ethan Hale’s orchard.

Ethan is a struggling single dad, and his three kids have been secretly using a forgotten wishing well to keep their home afloat. Honey should shut it down immediately… but something about this family makes it impossible to walk away.

And for the first time, she starts questioning everything.

This book completely pulled me in. The emotional depth, the family dynamics, and Honey’s growth were done so well. Watching her go from rigid and rule-driven to someone learning to follow her heart was such a beautiful journey.

And Ethan and his kids? They added so much warmth to the story.

✨ What I loved
• the magical wishing well concept
• single dad + adorable family dynamics
• Honey’s character growth
• emotional, heartfelt moments
• the cozy, small-town feel

💭 Overall vibe
A magical, emotional romance that feels like a warm hug—full of heart, growth, and the reminder that sometimes the best things in life come from breaking the rules.

If you like
• magical realism
• single dad trope
• emotional, character-driven romance
• cozy settings
• heartfelt love stories
