This was a low-to-no spice read with a gentle touch of magic. It’s very different from what I normally read, but I still found it enjoyable. I loved stepping outside my comfort zone and seeing how light magic was woven into everyday life. This would be a great starting point for readers who want to transition from contemporary romance into romance with magical or fantasy elements.
I already have a few friends in mind who will really enjoy this book, and I can’t wait to share it with them!
Thank you so much to Danika Brown for reaching out and sharing her new book with me. I’m excited to check out her other novel, The Inn Between.
I was generously given access to ARC read As You Wish.
🐐 The story is cute, entertaining, cozy, has character, and most importantly, heart.
🐐I absolutely fell in love with the story and these people fairly quickly. I love that the town is quirky and filled with magic and sometimes in unexpected places.
🐐 I enjoy that our leading lady (a magic auditor) is smart, organized, likes to fix things (even if she gets herself in a little trouble for it), and ultimately wants to help others. She’s very lovable.
🐐The leading male character (farmer, single dad of 3) has flaws, is rough around the edges, stubborn, but is protective of his girls and his home, which is endearing.
🐐There are 3 wild but sweet kids, loose farm animals (surprise, there’s might be a goat), and lots of little moments that add up to perfect additions to this story.
🐐The writing is vivid without droning on. It’s easy to read and has charm. It’s a perfect cozy read that has magic and will have you smiling and wanting more.
🐐 I am so happy this was my very first ARC read! I look forward to watching out for more books from Danika Brown.
Sweet closed-door romance, small town vibes meets an unusual magic world. Honey is all rules and big city business until she is sent on a wild [goat] chase in a witchy middle-of-nowhere town to figure out what is going on with the rogue wishing well on Ethan's farm. Ethan's three young daughters were a real highlight of the book, honestly would have loved even more of their meddling and shenanigans. The magical world building was lacking quite a bit for me, leaving me scratching my head through a lot of the book because I did not have a good understanding of how the magic worked, who had it, and what the role of the bureau was exactly. I don't think it overly impacted the story but did distract me at times. By the end, I do feel I have much better understanding (though maybe not every question was answered). The mystery and conclusion of the girls' mother was also a bit weird and did not satisfy my curiosity by the end. I did really like a lot of the supporting characters and was pleasantly surprised to see there is a book that provides some back story to the owners of "The Inn Between". Not sure I'll rush to it, but I definitely wouldn't mind visiting Brim's Hollow and the motley crew of characters again. Overall, this was cute, quick, and enjoyable.
Thanks to the author, via our side piece book club, for the ARC!
As You Wish is the 2nd story from Danika that I’ve read, and I have become a big fan. She does a fantastic job of blending emotional moments, romance, fun banter with the cast and paranormal themes into a heartwarming tale that is a true joy to read. It is easy to recommend this story, along with Danika’s other works.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 0 🌶️ Pair with: A cup of hot coffee and a slice of apple pie ☕🥧
As You Wish by Danika Brown completely hooked me from the very beginning. This is the kind of cozy, heartfelt romance that wraps around you like a warm blanket.
Our FMC is a total city girl—she lives for charts, checklists, and organization (a proud neat freak). When she’s assigned to audit a wishing well in a charming small town, she expects paperwork… not a very handsome, very grumpy single farmer who happens to own it.
And honestly? Can you blame him for being grumpy. He’s raising his daughters alone after the Magical Fed took away their mother and never heard or seen her after! He’s doing the absolute best he can. The single dad energy in this book? Top tier.
The contrast between structured, checklist-loving FMC and rugged, small-town farmer MMC is perfection. Their dynamic is tender, slow-building, and so satisfying to watch unfold. You can absolutely guess what happens between them… and it’s adorable.
This isn’t a fast-paced, whirlwind romance—and that’s exactly why it works. Danika Brown really took her time here. The setting is beautifully described, the emotions feel layered, and every moment feels intentional. It’s immersive in the best way.
If you love the Dream Harbor Series but want something with less spice and more cozy charm, this is 100% your book. Zero spice, all heart.
A five-star comfort read for me. ✨

Title: As You Wish( Welcome to Brim's Hollow) Author: Danika Brown Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I absolutely love this story I love honey and Ethan so much and the three little girls they are just the amazing. Honey is a auditor for the bureau of magical compliance mainly over wishing wells and maintaining them. So in the story Ethan's is an orchard owner and his children found a abandoned wishing well on the property and was using said wishing well too pretty much help with the orchard help their father and to work through conflicts quietly. Honey thought this was going to be an In-N-Out case but boy was she wrong. She got in way deeper and she's so glad she did. I won't give away anymore details because I think this is a book that must be read because it's absolutely amazing. I think this is the beginning to a wonderful series that I look forward to continuing. The author does have another book called The Inn Between I read it after reading this one and I really enjoyed it. Overall this was a very good book with a magical twist and a really lovable tale and I think anybody that reads this book will be absolutely in love with these characters and everything.
I am so glad I signed up for the ARC for As You Wish. @danikabrown this read was so heartwarming. So magical. Such a unique storyline. A single father of three. A woman that keeps magic in check. Wishing wells that need to be audited. Wishes need to be made properly. Ms. Baxter keeps things in check. Mr. Hale’s homes is never in check. A magical line could cause this small family to lose it all. Ms. Baxter never breaks the rules, but something in her heart needs to make this right. A small magic filled town comes together. Love is found. The past comes knocking. Animals roam free. And three little girls steal the reader’s heart. I hope the world of Brim’s Hollow continues to grow with new books. If you are looking for a read that brings you happiness, gives you a warm fuzzy feeling, makes those eyes get misty, and brings hope to your heart.. this is a book I highly recommend for you.
Dual POV Contemporary Romantic comedy Magic is part of daily life Single Dad Small town No smut HEA Lighthearted
This was the perfect palate cleanser for me between heavier/darker books I was reading. Sometimes even dark romance girls need a bit of sunshine and golden retriever vibes.
✔️Kids that will pull your heartstrings. ✔️A hard working, good man. ✔️A town full of wild characters. ✔️A cuddly baby goat with attitude problems. ✔️And a woman who thrives on order who finds herself in the middle of chaos.
Some notes while reading: •Immediately yes. Never heard of the “wishing well actually working” concept before. Love the originality.
•I’m 8% in and I already relate to Honey so much. She is tediously organized, loves all things dress-right-dress, perfect, and in order. She has high standards and she is ambitious. She is the definition of “oldest sister energy.”
•42% in and Ethan just used an “authoritative tone” 🫠 ok daddy.
👨Single Dad 🏢 City Girl 🧑🧑🧒🧒 Found Family 🪄 Magic 🐐Goat Pet ⭐️ Opposites 🏡 Small Town
As you Wish follows the characters Honey who works for the Bureau of Magical Compliance and Ethan, a single dad trying to keep his family’s home and Orchard alive. Honey ends up on his Orchard just trying to do her job and keep rules intact when she finds so much more. Now I don’t want to spoil too much but this was a fantastic read. The short chapters were the best and if life didn’t get in the way I would have read this in one sitting. I’ve read about 150 books since I’ve started reading and I’ve never really come across a small town book with magic. It was a nice twist and not something a lot of people write. I cant say I’ve read a book like this before. I feel so special being a ARC reader for this book!
As You Wish is a light rom-com which tugs at your heart strings. Both main characters struggle with every day challenges. We have all had a time where asking for help has been a challenge or thinking there is more out there for us than we have. Ethan and Honey both experience that. But compassion for helping someone leads to a friendship and maybe even something more (no spoilers here).
Danika does a great job pulling you in to the lives of Honey and Ethan. The sprinkling of magic throughout makes this a cozy read, especially during the fall and winter months.
I can’t write a review without giving credit to Pickles! When an animal can weave their way into your heart as you read, you know you will achieve the feel good feelings!
As You Wish is a sweet, cozy small town romance filled with warmth, charm, and heart. Brim’s Hollow feels like a place you want to stay, complete with meddling townspeople, chaotic town meetings, and a strong sense of found family. The slow burn romance develops beautifully, allowing the relationship to grow naturally through quiet moments and genuine connection. It is soft, comforting, and emotionally satisfying without being rushed. And Pickles the baby goat deserves a special mention because he absolutely stole the show. (Truly need someone to get me a baby goat STAT) Perfect for readers who love small town settings, gentle slow burns, single dad romances, and cozy vibes throughout. A lovely, comforting read.
Steeped with magic, hope, stubbornness, and love, this is an emotionally cozy read.
The characters. The structure. The plot. The detail... simply magical. Danika Brown has created such a captivating story.
I am ready to move to Brim's Hollow. This small-town is charming. I was so invested in seeing how Honey, the bureaucratic city-girl, took to Ethan, the stubborn single father, while she is sent to audit the wishing well on his orchard. Every page had me falling more in love with their story (and wanting a goat).
This was such a cozy feel good read that I could not put down. Danika had created a world you just want to get lost in. If Brim Hallow was a real place I would be packing up to move there! The characters each have their own distinct personality that really comes through and seeing familiar names from The Inn Between was a pleasant surprise! It’s a slow burn romance that feels completely natural and palpable. It has real world scenarios with the mystery of magic intertwined. It is engaging, sweet, and wholesome. I highly recommend giving this one a read!
This is such a cute book! It's about a small town farmer and a big city bureaucrat who don't quite see eye to eye. This has romance and magic with a twist or two. If you've read The Inn Between a few familiar faces make an appearance that I wasn't expecting.
Reading this book makes me want to go live in Brim's Hollow and experience the magic that makes this story special. I can't wait for the next one!
Cute small town feel with a slight twist of magic. Low on the spice and high on feel good and pulling at your heart. I am not one to read stories with magic, but the author handled it well, and I enjoyed it more than I thought. It was a different take on things, and I think readers would enjoy it.
5/5 LOVED IT! This book does such a good job mixing a magical world and the real world! I absolutely loved it! Honey's journey is incredible to watch, Ethan finally learning to accept help is so sweet, and the girls are down right hilarious.. . This is such a heartwarming book! ALSO WHY WAS PICKLES IN THE WELL!????

This was such a cute romcom and a charming debut to a new series. It perfectly blends small-town love with just a hint of magic, creating a cozy, feel-good read that’s impossible not to smile through. Short, sweet, and full of heart. I’m already excited to see where this series goes next.
This was a super cute cosy magical romance book! I loved the characters, the small town setting and the single dad trope is one of my favourites!!!! Adored this!
Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC of this book! Definitely recommend!!!
3.5 stars! Very good cute romance. I feel like we didn't see it build as much or get a backstory to the characters. It was short and sweet though and I did like it:)
