Warborn: Part Four - The Emporium: A LitRPG Novella

A LITRPG Post Apocalyptic Progressive Fantasy
They've made it through the Iron Dungeon but not without a heavy cost, mentally and spiritually, for Jeb. His madness once again flared up, instigated by the revelation some of his soldiers have been pulled into the Crucible of War, and yet, they still have no clue where humanity will land, in which deranged City they will be shoved into, and if it is not Blood City, how they will get to them?
One thing is sure, Jeb would never abandon his Soldiers but they have far more on their plate than just humanity as they exit the Dungeon into the still waiting teeth of Greenskins looking to end them. They are also joined by some crazy Blood-elf Woman with questionable motives but they have no time to figure it out when blood is in the offing and the Emporium's gates are in sight. Jeb struggles hard to think clearly with all that has happened, the guilt eating his soul along with the PTSD for the use and abuse he subjected his Boy to against the final Boss.
His sanity and guilt are just two of many weights crushing his shoulders. He is told within a couple years Earth will have the System dropped on its head and the Great Galactic Empire, not far behind. His immediate impulse is to go to his home and defend it but none have ever escaped the Crucible of War in the long history of its debauchery, ever.
His broken mind was on the verge of falling into madness and yet it might be the only thing that sees him through the eternal war he found himself in.
The retired Master Sergeant let some of the weight go as he'd learned in the hard hitting whip of operations all across the lands of his birth -- In War, you used what you had to to get through the trenches, to remain standing when all the graves had been dug. They weren't alone though, even away from the strange Blood-elf. Bogie, the Gremlin, had proven over and over again not only his loyalty but the sheer courage and conviction to stand by their side no matter the cost. He was now family and to Jeb that meant everything.
Will they carve their way through the Orks, Goblins and Hobgoblins of the Skull and Bones who stand in there way? Will they make it into the beckoning doors of the supposed Safe Haven that is the Emporium? Will Humanity survive the Crucible of War and will Jeb find a way through the deadly Endless Dungeon or the even worse nightmare that are the Fathomways to find those he left behind? Will they survive Blood City long enough to even make those choices? Can he find a way back to Earth to defend his home against the coming of the System?

J.D. Glasscock started as a slam poet on national teams in 1990. Six years later, he moved on to be the singer/songwriter/frontman of a blues rock band called Sofa King, which lasted ten years. Though he still writes both lyrics and poetry, in 2005, he moved on to studying film writing and directing with a special emphasis on lighting, specifically, noir lighting. He moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to finally pursue those aspirations. He is the Alan Bailey Award winner for Excellence in the Craft of Filmmaking - Noir, at the Action on Film Festival 2015. He currently has 16 short films to his name and has won numerous awards as a filmmaker at large festivals. His current goals include his two TV series, Celestial Moon, and The Mysfits, as well as his first feature, A God Among Sheep -- The Rise of Maria Salvatore. He has four other feature film scripts written in different genres -- Western, Sci-Fi, Post-Apocalyptic, and Suspense Thriller. He moved to Denton, Texas in 2017 to be near and help his family, and to bring his style of film to North Texas. He is currently focused on his burgeoning career as a LitRPG Novelist. His GrimDark LitRPG series Blood Brothers is now out with its first five books. The first two books of his new series, the Dream, is also out. A Post Apocalyptic Litrpg. awesome continuation of the series. very good description of PTSD.
