Full Disclosure: I received an advanced copy of the Kindle Edition, however, I pre-ordered the paperback which is set to arrive soon.

If you were in high school or college in the early 90s, this will be a fun trip down memory lane. I instantly connected to the character "Katie" and loved how the author peppered nostalgic references throughout the book to tap into that emotional connection.

Is the plot deep? No. But, it was fun and I read it one sitting. As someone who loves books but doesn't always have the time to sit down and read for the pure enjoyment of reading, We Know Your Secret was the perfect length to get my fix in.

Wowzers!!!!
My girlfriends and I used to have weekends like this all the time!! We went to the movie store, we pigged out on snacks and pizza, we made prank calls!!!! Ahhhh!!! I never even thought of all the ways it could go wrong. This book kept me on edge while simultaneously unlocking nostalgia I'd long forgotten. I wait impatiently for this authors next book!!! I'm hooked.

I was blessed to receive an advanced reader copy (ARC) of “We Know Your Secret” by Sebastian Gregory and enjoyed the thrilling ride. This book is a thrilling page-turner that masterfully taps into 80s-90s nostalgia, evoking memories of Blockbuster nights and staying up all night. The story revolves around Katie and Lisa, whose innocent sleepover prank inadvertently provokes a killer, setting off a deadly game of cat and mouse. This book genuinely creeped me out! I found myself locking my doors and leaving the lights on, fully immersed in the eerie atmosphere. Sebastian Gregory’s writing style effectively crafts tension and suspense, keeping me engaged. I could not put this book down! 5/5

This was a really fun little romp through the 90s. It gave me all the vibes of a day at school, then the anticipation of a long weekend, hanging with friends and generally goofing around in that simple, fun careless way you only could back in those simpler times, right before the Internet and social media exploded, changing teenagers and the world we live in forever.

The short, atmospheric chapters worked well to keep the tension sharp and the action ramped up as I quickly flew through the pages and a malevolent evil insidiously crept closer and closer. It was exactly like watching your favorite 90s slasher movie, knowing doom was coming but helpless to stop it. I really enjoyed the retro references sprinkled throughout and there were so many things that I had completely forgotten about that brought a nostalgic smile to my face.

I love the fact that this era is getting some love and I'm hoping this author has many more 90s slasher novels coming our way soon.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“We Know Your Secret” by Sebastian Gregory had me in a full 90s chokehold — and I loved every nostalgic second of it.
Think sleepovers, prank calls, late-night pizza, and Alanis Morissette playing in the background… until the fun takes a seriously dark turn. What starts as innocent chaos becomes a full-blown “who’s on the other end of that call?” nightmare.
This book embodies every classic trope we secretly adore — the prank gone too far, the suburban sleepover gone wrong, the danger creeping closer — all wrapped in pure 90s nostalgia that had me smiling at every reference one moment and gasping out loud the next.
And yes… there’s a dog. His name’s Buster, and that’s all I’m saying. 🐾
Huge shoutout to @pocketbookpress for this tiny-but-mighty paperback — the literal definition of pocket-sized chaos. Perfect for spooky season and every 90s kid who misses Blockbuster nights and questionable fashion choices.

Fun popcorn slasher / thriller. Plenty of blood. Great nostalgia throw back to the 90s when I was a young kid, so I could connect. Great Palate cleanser between two large books in a series or two heavy novels, would recommend it. I miss having fun shorter stories like this to read, everything today is built to be way to long of a read.

It does fall flat in a few areas, including continuous in some small details and the prose can make the story and action fall flat, where it's a bit too passive, slowing it down, or jumbled. Some of the references will be lost on a younger crowd.

3.5/5, with some editing and cleaning 4/5.

This was a fun and quick teen thriller, perfect for the Halloween season. This is essentially a Fear Street novel, but set in the 90s. Two best friends are looking forward to their weekly sleepover on Friday night, not knowing that it will be the last time anything is normal. Lisa and Katie have the house to themselves, two new releases from Blockbuster, pizza, snacks, and Cosmo magazine. Everything is perfect. That is, until they start prank calling people. What starts out as a funny joke, quickly goes dark. Maybe being home alone isn't the wisest move. Told through multiple perspectives, this fun little thriller was cute but could have had another rounds of editing. Some things weren't consistent. That being said it was still a fun little romp that any millennial or child of a millennial will enjoy.

As someone who grew up in the 90s, this book hit all the right notes for me. The little details like late trips to Blockbuster and the sound of a cordless phone brought back memories, but the story itself is what kept me hooked. The setup is simple at first: a prank call that goes wrong. What surprised me was how quickly the tension builds and how real the danger begins to feel. Eric, the teacher at the center of the chaos, is both frightening and strangely sympathetic, which made the story even more unsettling.

I also appreciated the friendship between Lisa and Katie. Their conversations and reactions felt honest, which made me care about what happened to them. The 90s setting adds a layer of authenticity that modern technology would have ruined. Overall, this is a fast, creepy, and emotionally grounded thriller that I genuinely enjoyed from start to finish.

A fast-paced, nostalgic slasher that feels straight out of the late ‘90s! Gregory nails the eerie suburban atmosphere and the tension builds nicely.. Every chapter had me turning pages faster. The mix of early dvd-era horror and psychological dread makes it stand out from other modern slashers. Perfect for fans of Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Fear Street.

We Know Your Secret by Sebastian Gregory is a fast-paced retro thriller that feels like it could have been pulled straight off a 90s young adult bookstore shelf. Set over the course of one terrifying night in September 1996, it blends sharp nostalgia with character-driven horror. Gregory balances slasher-style suspense with emotional depth that make the characters feel more layered than typical genre fare. And yes, there's a dog you will fall in love with!

For fans of Point Horror or Fear Street, We Know Your Secret is a fast-paced, nostalgic ride that honors the genre.
