More Than a Coincidence: A Sweet Small-Town Romantic Comedy

Rate this book
Coincidence? I’m leaning more toward fateRegret. That’s what inspired my now-trending song. I swore that if I ever saw my childhood friend again, I’d tell her she was pretty. And today, I got to tell her. Sadly, it followed her whisper of “I think I’m going to be sick.”

Definitely not the best timing.

That one chance meeting on a plane rekindles our friendship. It helps that she’s moving into her gramps’s place, which is right down the road. When he calls, asking for help on his ranch, I jump at the chance.

More time around my friend is a great thing.

As weeks stretch into months, my feelings grow. But it’s clear, she’s afraid of pushing out of the friend zone.

When a musical opportunity comes my way, I have a choice to make. Do I chase my dream or follow my heart?

What a way to end the Stargazer Springs Ranch series!! I loved seeing the next generation older in this book and seeing sweet Mason all grown up and getting his HEA!!

Clementine and Mason were an absolute delight to read! I loved how they were childhood friends who happen to meet again by chance years later and they naturally pick back up where they left off…and then some!

So much to love about this book! Mason was the sweetest MMC! He had the biggest heart and was so lovable! Clementine was the heroine we all love to love! She was down to earth and I loved how selfless she was. Her love for her Gramps and how she dropped everything to take care of him was so sweet.

This friends to more romance was so cute and had so many swoony moments that had me kicking my feet and giggling like a school girl! You’ll just have to read to find out more!

What you’ll love:
Friends to more
💙Gramps
🎸One bed
💙The songs
🎸Pecan pie
💙Swoony moments
🎸The big gesture
💙That epilogue

This was a very sweet and delightful ending to a fantastic series! The characters feel like personal friends, and it made me so happy to see a grown up Mason getting a well deserved HEA. As a young boy, he was just the cutest, so it’s not surprising that he grew up to be a wonderful man.

I adored the friendship and romance between him and Clementine. Add in a meddling, matchmaking grandpa, and you have a fabulous, heartwarming read.

What a sweet ending to a wonderful series! I loved Mason from the first time I read about him as a young boy. This book brings him the happily ever after that he deserves. He did have to work for it though.

The re-meet cute was adorable. It was fun to see Clementine again.

This is a sweet story with an amazing connection that can’t be missed!

Cowboys of Stargazer Springs Ranch:
MORE THAN A COINCIDENCE, #10 - Ms. Carrington can do not wrong with this series and this sweet, funny, entertaining romance proves it. I love and enjoy thd stories by this lovely Native Texan. Source: The author, ARC. 5*

MORE THAN A LITTLE FLIRTING - Another interesting, funny, sweet romance that is so easy to get immersed in the pages. All three series have been so much fun to read.5*

MORE THAN A PAIR OF JEANS, #1 - Lovely. Funny. Cute. I had so much reading this sweet romance. Wonderful characters and interesting story lines. Written by a lovely Texan and set in Texas, complete with horses, cattle and goats. Cannot forget about the mice and kittens. Plenty of social media, too. Has a preview of the story. 5*

MORE THAN A PRETTY FACE, #2 - I just love this series. This story has such cute and sweet characters with plenty of humor. No silly mind games, just people trying to make a life with the person that they love while taking care of their friends. Living well, working hard and loving with all their hearts and souls. 5*

MORE THAN FALLING IN LOVE, #3 - Plenty of matchmakers in this cute, sweet romance. Mason has a great part and the rest of the Stargazer crew is right in the thick of it all. Well written. Lots of fun. Lots of romance in the works. 5*

MORE THAN A SILLY CRUSH, #4 - The Stargazer series, all three of them, have been nothing but entertaining, filled with love, humor and wonderful characters. Combined with well written and thoughtful story lines that meld all the books together, it is difficult to put any of these books down. This is a fun and loving story about patience and best friends. 5*

MORE THAN A GOOD FRIEND, #5 - I enjoy the dry sense of humor, not mean but cute bits here and there, as well as the regular funniness, and fun, for which the Stargrazer books are known. Ole Hidalgo finally grows up and sees Goldie as she actually is, instead of taken for granted. Lovely story. 5*

MORE THAN AN EX-GIRLFRIEND, #6 - I am always delighted to read books by Ms. Carrington, she never disappoints. There is a bit of intrigue, not perfect childhoods and a bit of interference that ruins a love. But there comes a possibility of a second chance ala Hailey Mills. For the younger folk, Lindsay Lohan. Plenty of humor, laughs and family to finish this well woven tapestry filled with good story lines and wonderful characters. Source: The author, ARC. 5*

MORE THAN A HELPING HAND, #7 - This one is so much fun to read. As always, loveable characters, good story lines and the humor and love through out the pages make it a one sitting read. Source: The author, ARC. 5*

MORE THAN A BLIND DATE, #8 - It's Dallas' story. I love this fun, interesting, romantic and well written series. Source: The author, ARC. 5*

MORE THAN A LITTLE SPARK, #9 - I haven't laughed so hard in a spell. Just the perfect story for a bit of fun and relaxation while Carson takes care of family and gets a chance at love. The rest of the ranch family is there along with another set of good story lines and plenty if love and humor. Source: The author. 15*

Reader’s Notes:

-this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

*however please note that the main guy & girl in this book are child aged in the previous books of the series when they appear

-this is told from Mason & Clementine’s points of view

-a character’s grandparent is going through chemo (during the story’s events)

-in the epilogue, it is briefly mentioned that Mason is unbuttoning Clementine’s dress & kissing her there (front of dress; they are married; nothing further as they were interrupted)

Review:

I’ve been highly anticipating the story for Mason ever since Remi announced one would be coming! In previous books he was such a sweet and insightful helper for other characters’ forming relationships (he gave them some love/care advice). I was curious how his story would go, but could see who he’d likely end up with from a few hints/epilogue(s) in previous books.

I loved that these two were such good friends as kids and managed to meet again after Clementine moved away. Mason grew to be such a sweet guy as an adult and I loved that he was still so caring. I loved that he made it clear to Clementine that he wasn’t trying to pressure her into a relationship and was willing to stay just friends. And I loved that her grandfather tried multiple times to get through to Clementine about how she should let Mason love her in a more than friendship way. 😂😍 I loved all the stories Clementine’s grandpa told her and Mason about his life with her grandmother! I also loved that I could understand why Clementine was holding back from starting a real romantic relationship with Mason. She highly valued her friendship with him and it was just so sweet and endearing. 💗

Summary:

Mason fell for his best friend as a kid, but never even got the chance to tell Clementine how pretty he thought she was before she moved away. In fact, his regret over it inspired his most recent hit song. So when he happens to find himself sitting next to her on a plane heading home, Mason can’t help but keep his promise to himself and tell her how pretty he thinks she is. But it probably wasn’t the best timing considering his declaration is followed by a quiet ‘I think I’m going to be sick’ from the woman of his dreams…

Clementine is moving back to Stadtburg in order to care for her grandpa and the small farm he has. She had a small hope she’d see her childhood best friend Mason again while there, but never expected to see him on her plane in a completely different state on his way back. Nor did Clementine expect for her Mason to be the same Mason from her favorite band. When their plane encounters some unexpected delays, Clementine decides to take a car the rest of the way home and finds that Mason wants to join her. She’s thrilled but with the other feelings he’s inspiring in her that were most definitely not there when they were kids, Clementine is determined to keep him in the friend zone. Her relationship with Mason is one of her most treasured things in life and she doesn’t want anything to break it…

This wonderful book caps off the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs rom-com series in the most fitting way as it features one of the most beloved characters in the series, Mason, whom readers met as a child and who is now all grown up. As a child, Mason had wisdom beyond his years and an open, fearlessly loving heart. In elementary school he had a best friend named Clementine, a little girl whose parents suddenly moved away. Mason grieved the loss and that he never got to say goodbye or tell her that he thought she was pretty. In this story they are reconnected in what appears to be a coincidental way. I loved seeing the grownup version of Mason who was one of the most emotionally insightful, patient, and loving characters I’ve ever read and he needed his fortitude in order to win Clementine’s heart as she was recovering from a bad break-up and was trying to care for a sick grandfather and his ranch. Mason is pretty irresistible and he won my heart for sure! The ending brought a tear to my eyes with all of the ranch characters from former books exhibiting the loving support and community that was Stargazer Springs Ranch. It made me wish I could move into one of the cabins and join the family. You can definitely read and enjoy this book as a standalone but if you can, read the earlier books first for full enjoyment. I received an ARC from the author. All opinions expressed are totally my own.

Remi Carrington has written some of my very favorite and most memorable meet-cutes--- or reintroduction as the case may be with this one! Mason and Clementine first met as children and even at a young age, he was drawn to her. So much so that his band's recent hit song was a song that he'd written about her-- despite not having seen her for many years. And then fate steps in with a chance meeting that I absolutely adored. These two had such a sweet and easy chemistry between them and I loved seeing them rekindle that old friendship... and those old feelings of his that never really went away. This was another fantastic trip back to Stargazer Springs and as always, I enjoyed every minute. If you love a romance with cowboy and/or musician vibes, this one is absolutely one not to be missed.

More Than a Coincidence is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. It does mention a side character dealing with cancer as well. It is the tenth book in the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs Ranch series. While those who have read the previous books will recognize some familiar characters, this could definitely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Right Time for their Love to Bloom -
Fate brought them together at a time when they needed support, after being apart for years and the recognition was instant. However, neither one of them had the courage to explore their true feelings for each other, even though everyone knew they were meant to be together. It took a few jealous moments and a kick up their backsides, for them to finally confess their true feelings and work together for the life they deserved.

This is a clean, beautifully written but emotionally moving second chance love story, that drew me in from the beginning and kept me eagerly turning the pages until the end. Watching the female character grow stronger as she struggled with her indecision, but ultimately finding the courage to go after the happiness she deserves, made this story a wonderful read. This is a definite must read book that deserves to be on your TBR list.

I received an advanced review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

4.5 rounded up for a sweet small town read!

Of course I was rearing to read about Mason after meeting him in the last book with his dad and his story did not disappoint. Rockstar romance but without the ego. Mason is the perfect leading man to help Clementine get over her heartache and fear of a new relationship (and flying!)

I was so glad that Clementine was able to use her smarts to help the band, to be honest there were a couple times I was worried she was going to slip into a trad-wife role with all the cooking she took up at Gramps' ranch, but she stepped up when she needed to and was able to become a good equal partner for Mason.

The brief inclusions of other characters from the series was nice, and not overwhelming like sometimes happens in series finales. They were there, they were family, but they didn't overshadow Mason and Clementine one bit.

“Meeting you again was more than a coincidence. It was destiny.”

Mason and Clementine were childhood best friends until she moved away and they lost touch. Mason never forgot about his friend and even wrote a song about her. Years later they meet again unexpectedly on a plane back to Texas. They rekindled their friendship but Mason wants more but Clementine is scared. They’re back to being the best friends but she’s worried that she’ll lose him as a friend if they cross the line.

Such a sweet childhood best friends to lovers story! If you’ve read the other books in the series then you’re gonna love seeing little Mason all grown up. He was so heartbroken when his friend Clementine left and I’m so glad their paths crossed again.
Mason is sweet, patient and has the biggest heart. Clementine needed a little push, but thank goodness for her wise and meddling Grandpa!

This is the final book in the Stargazer Springs Ranch series. It is a kisses only contemporary romcom and can be read as a standalone book. BUT...especially since this is the final book, it is best read at the end, in my opinion.

I haven't read all of these books, although that is my ultimate goal because I really enjoy these characters and the writing of the author. It just happened that the first book in this series that I read, was the one that featured Mason's dad as the main character. So this one was extra special for me because it was Mason's turn to find his HEA.

Mason has had advice for the characters throughout this series, so now seeing him in the spotlight was extra fun. I have really come to love this Ranch through this series.

I was given the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. I am leaving an honest review.

I loved the characters in More Than a Coincidence! Mason and Clementine were childhood friends that lost touch when Clementine moved away. Mason has grown to be a kind man that is more than willing to help others, besides being a swoon-worthy musician. Clementine has just gotten out of a bad relationship. She's sweet and is moving in with her Gramps to help him with his small ranch as he deals with cancer. Gramps makes me smile as he's a bit of a matchmaker and wants Clementine to have the love that he had with his wife. Author Remi Carrington writes these characters and their friends and families in such a way as to make me want to be a part of their circle. Stargazer Spring Ranch is a fantastic series and this is the perfect book to finish it up!

I finished More Than a Coincidence a while ago but I forgot to post about it.

This series has been such an unexpected joy and l've grown to love these characters so much.

It was so fun to see these characters who were kids and best friends through the series, grow up and find each other again and get their happy ending. Mason is the SWEETEST. I loved seeing Clementines personality blossom from a little girl to a young woman. Such a sweet and swoony couple!

Please check out the Stargazer Springs Ranch series (and of course the rest of her backlog) by Remi Carrington if you're looking for sweet, closed door, small town cowboy romances!

I received a copy of this book from the author, thank you for including me. These thoughts are my own. 🩷

This was the book I was waiting for and it was everything I wanted. This is the story of Mason. In the rest of the Stargazer Springs series, Mason is a precocious child who is wise for his age. This is his story and Clementines (who we also met in an earlier book).

You could read this as a standalone and be satisfied however as someone who has read all the books, It meant so much more to me after knowing the backstory. It hit all the right notes.

I receive complimentary books from various sources, including NetGalley, authors, and others. I am not required to write a positive review, and I have not received any compensation for my thoughts.

I have loved every single book in the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs series. More than a Coincidence is no different. We get to finally see grown-up Mason find his own way and reconnect with his childhood best friend, Clementine, who he always loved and hoped to see again someday (say it with me: “awwwww”). This may have been one of the more “serious” feeling books in the series as it didn’t seem like there was quite as much witty banter and humor that I’ve come to know from Remi in a large portion of her other books, but more serious doesn’t make it any less sweet of a love story. I will always recommend the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs series to my friends.

I am so glad that the author decided to give Mason his story. I loved him through the years as, even as a loveable youngster, he had a hand in helping other couples on the ranch while they were falling in love. Mason’s story was definitely worth waiting for! I loved it when Mason and Clementine met up again for the first time in many years. It was certainly “more than a coincidence”. Mason was just as swoony, caring, loving, and protective as the other heroes in this series. There were a lot of fun moments, as well as the swoony ones, as Clementine realized that friends could have it all! What a great book this was!

More Than a Coincidence is a wonderful end to one of my all time favorite series. It is so great to finally read Mason's story. He nearly stole the show in several of the early books when he was an adorable, young boy. He has loved Clementine for a long time. Clementine returns to help her grandfather with his ranch. Grandpa calls Mason to do some heavy lifting at the ranch, I loved grandpa's stories and his match making. Mason is his usual, kind, caring self and gives Clementine the time and space she needs. I loved all these characters so much that I wish I could live Stargazer Springs so I could visit with them more often! I really want to go back and reread all the books!

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! <3
This was the perfect story to end this series. I’m so happy Mason received his love story, just as he deserved. I could see glimpses of the little boy I knew and loved from the previous books, but I adored his character as a grown man. Literally, the PERFECT gentleman! HAHA!
Clementine reminded me of myself often, which is probably why I wanted to shake her and hug her at the same time. HAHA! Overall, I loved her sweet and wholesome personality. And the ending, *chef’s kiss!*
If you love clean and wholesome (closed door) romance, funny moments, found family and cowboys, this book and entire series is for you!

Mason was such an amazing secondary character as the precocious kid in the previous books. I'm so happy that years later he reconnected with his childhood friend Clementine while following his dreams as a songwriter. But she recently got out of a long term relationship with a terrible boyfriend and is afraid to risk her friendship with Mason and lose him altogether. Mason is patient, helpful when Clementine's grandfather is going through cancer treatments and needs assistance on the farm, and doesn't push Clementine for more even though his heart aches for her. I loved reconnecting with the previous characters in this series. This was a kisses only best friends romance.

What a great ending to the fantastic Stargazer Springs Ranch series! Although I am very sad to see it end, More Than a Coincidence was such a sweet ending. I am so glad we got to see Mason grow up and get the happily after he deserved!

If you are a fan of this series you will definitely remember Mason from the past books. The kid with a heart of gold, giving relationship advice to the cowboys on the ranch that need help to find their special someone. Even if you haven't read the past books you are in for a real treat! Mason is an adult now, still sweet and still great with advice. He is a super caring man and when he runs into his childhood friend, Clementine, the first thing he does is tell her she is pretty. It is something he has always wanted to do but never got the chance. Insert sigh here. :) I loved how these two met up again. It was so unique. As they start to rekindle their friendship, Mason gets a chance to help out on Clementine's Gramps’ farm, bringing them in close daily proximity with each other. Clementine is so reluctant to fall and Mason is so patient with her. I really adored her Gramps. I love how he was rooting for her and Mason the entire time. He gave her some great advice too. Clementine truly grows through the story when she faces her fears to give Mason such a swoon-worthy grand gesture at the end. I enjoyed this book so much! It was also great to see some cameos from the past book in the series, especially Poppy and Kent, Mason’s parents. You do not need to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this one, but I highly recommend you add them to your list. They are such fun, sweet stories.

Return to Stargazer Springs Ranch, the Next Generation, Mason & Clementine—5 stars.
Mason wrote a song about Clementine, which helped lead him and his band to stardom. He was so sweet and such a gentleman towards Clementine when he finally found her again by accident. I love the dialog between all the characters, it seemed normal and witty, just like friends would be. I was frustrated a little with Clementine’s reluctance to commit her heart, but was proud of Mason for his patience. I was glad to see Clementine’s growth as she overcame some of her fears. Clementine’s Gramps is a sweetheart, and Luna was a surprise. I received an ARC copy from the author, and am pleased to leave a review.

Ahhh I loved this book! Clementine and Mason are some of my favorite characters. After reading about Mason's growing up years in the previous books in the Stargazer Springs books, I was delighted to read his own love story. This book has a sweet second chance, a beuatiful friendship between the main characters, a fiesty grandpa, and a lot of references to the Nashville music scene, which I found so fun. Overall, this is a fantastic book, I recommend it to teenagers and older who are looking for a sweet romance to read. Thank you to the author for the advance copy of this book. Happily Ever After

Remi Carrington has created a comprehensive series of novels set in the Texas Hill Country, each of whose residents has his or her own story--and romance. Each stands alone, beautifully, but it is like running into old friends when you return home, as you read through the various tales. This book features second--or, perhaps, third! generation childhood friends, and I'll not go further to avoid spoilers. Just rest assured, Remi's signature sweet story (including the food!) will satisfy in every way, yet leave you wanting more. (The good news is, by now there are a lot of threads--or do I mean recipes?--to follow!)

I received an ARC copy of this book and can finally tell y’all it’s so adorable! I love how this series ended but I’m sad that it’s ended.

Mason and Clementine met as kids and Mason was already in love and thought she was pretty! But now, through simple twist of fate they met again and Mason still thinks she’s pretty!

I just love Remi’s storytelling and her cowboys! I could read them all day!

Wow! Clementine and Mason's story is so great! The story was so sweet and swoony. I loved how much Mason lived her enough to give her the space and time she needed. I loved how much Clementine cared for him and would do anything for him. Definitely a great read! And I loved returning back to Stargazer Springs!

I absolutely loved Mason and Clementine’s romance. Reconnecting unexpectedly on a plane after many years, Mason and Clementine’s friendship to more is a delightful read with fun moments, emotional moments and above all love. Sorry this series is ending but cannot think of a better finale. Very enjoyable.

Sweet! Sweet! Sweet!!! oh, Mason is the man of my dreams! *sa-wooon*!! Clementine is an unusual FMC because it takes her a long time to accept that not only does she love Mason, but she's willing to accept his love for her. As much as my romantic heart wanted her to fall [again] for him as quickly as he falls for her, it wouldn't be much of a story that way. 😊

I like Mason but I found Clementine hard to relate to. She’s one of the most commitment phobic characters I’ve run into, and I just find that trope kind of exhausting. Also not a fan of Luna. I just don’t like characters that touch others without permission, and who don’t take a hint. However part of that was on Mason for not communicating his boundaries sooner. I’m glad it all wrapped up well.
