Without a Trace

Rate this book
It was supposed to be a birthday trip.
Then everything changed.

Scarlett Monroe doesn't believe in fate. She's too sharp for that. Too jaded. Too good at pretending nothing touches her. But when a birthday getaway turns into something darker, she's forced to question everything—especially the two boys who seem to know her better than she knows herself.

There are rules to friendship.
There are rules to loyalty.
And there are rules to surviving the kind of pull that can ruin you.

Without a Trace is an emotionally loaded romantic fantasy about obsession, betrayal, and the girl caught in the middle.
Perfect for readers who crave tension, secrets, and a heroine who doesn't play by the rules.

I am so grateful for the author for sending me an ARC copy to read cause I absolutely ATE this book up!! Literally finished this in one sitting.

This book was so chaotic and messy, and the emotional depth from Scarlett was phenomenal! We get introduced to a weird mysterious society right from the beginning, and then the author keeps us begging to know more through the whole book!

“You don’t have to go to hell just to prove you can come back from it”

If I haven’t convinced you yet… let me just tell you there is an absolutely DELECTABLE spicy scene that came a little out of left field and I ate that shit up!! There is so much tension leading up to it, and I can honestly say I was not expecting the direction it went and I was absolutely not disappointed, so here’s a little taste:

“Keep going. Let him hear you fall apart”

This book hooked me from page 1…the vibes were so much different from anything I’ve read in such a long time. I am so intrigued to see where this story goes.

Scarlett was such a badass fmc and thrived in the chaos. Team Alden or Team Trace? How about team all of them! She literally is living the dream with these boys watching over her (if you don’t count the dangerous blood prophecies lol).

I honestly couldn’t put this book down. I read through the first half on the first day, caught myself thinking about it the two days between finishing. Scarlett is the kind of character you want to shake and protect all at once. The book was messy, chaotic and exactly how I prefer my reads. The why choose was the best part, because personally I don’t know if I’m team Alden or Trace.

The pacing was great, you have good side characters who add humor to any situation before something bad comes into play. It slows down a bit in the middle before a very intense last half of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed the group dynamics and the fact that the book was a slower burn.

It’s definitely not an easy, one night read. It’s layered, there are hints that I didn’t realize until I finished the book and looked back through it. If you like stories that build and subtle foreshadowing, you’d enjoy this read. If you’re looking for a quick, easy read this may not be the book for you.

Looking forward to book two as I have questions!

I received an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review.

From the first page, I was hooked—and by the end, I was spiraling, and texting my friends immediately to scream about it.
Scarlett is one of the most layered, emotionally real female leads I’ve read in a while. She’s bold, messy, soft, chaotic—impossible not to root for. And the boys? The boys. Trace will haunt me forever. Alden too. The love triangle was everything I wanted—slow-burn, electric, and so emotionally charged.
The island scenes? Addictive. The twists? Wild. And the prose? Poetic but punchy, like every line knew exactly where to hit.
This isn’t just a romance. It’s a story about identity, secrets, and betrayal.

If you loved Ravenhood or Haunting Adeline, this book belongs on your shelf.

I was grateful to get this as an ARC reader.

3.75 stars and 3 🌶️s! This book is ALL vibes. There’s a little plot but mostly just heart-fluttering, reckless passion between the characters. Scarlett is a deeply complex FMC and I am still processing what I just read. If you want a read where you get no answers until close to the end of the book but you cannot put it down because the vibes and the feeling of a storm building over the course of a novel, THIS is for you!

Wow! I really enjoyed this book. The author did a great job reeling me in and dropped just enough teasers to keep me going. It’s not a simple read, you definitely have to pay attention and the story is beauty and tragedy and suspense. Will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
