First I want to thank the author for providing me with an ARC! I would say this is a pretty unique romantasy read & a solid 3.75 - 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me so rounding up & let’s get into why 👇🏼
PLOT
Thorne’s life has been plagued by losing the ones she loves most & an annual spell that leaves her in a deep despair. Despite this, she has grown to be a master academic & has accepted a job at a prestigious university in a neighboring land. Upon her arrival, she meets the quite rude yet insanely attractive professor Strike. He tells her not to go into the nearby forest at night, but she was never one to follow the rules of others. PROS
- I like Thorne a lot as an FMC. She’s brilliant & knows she is & isn’t going to take anyone’s shit.
- Shrike is also an interesting MMC. Their “dance” was pretty fun to follow. If you like your MMCs mean, you’ll like Shrike.
- Pretty solid banter. I giggled a couple times.
- The lore & world is VERY cool & unlike anything else I’ve read.
- I loved the ending. I am excited for where book 2 is going to take us because wow so much happened. I was feverishly turning pages in the last 10%.
- Thair is a v fun character & I like him.
- I quite enjoyed the writing style. I could absolutely see everything with such detail, & it was all so atmospheric. It was really well written IMO.
MIDS
- The front half of this is a slower, more mystery-based read & the back half is fast-paced biggerworld stuff. I could see this being either a pro or a con depending on the reader you are.
- The pacing of Throne & Shrike’s relationship felt rather jerky. I got whiplash from it. I quite enjoyed their banter & where we got with them but some moments just felt totally random instead of a natural progression or regression.
CONS
- This book feels like it should have been split into two. This is going to be a duology & I feel like the story might have suited a trilogy better. The first half & second half of this book are strikingly different in almost every way. It’s not that the story or relationship development itself is bad at all — I very much liked where we got — but it felt like the connective tissue from point A to point B was missing a little.

- Def knew that Thorne was related to Danu somehow but her being both Eden’s & Danu was interesting!
- The ending with the Danu betrayal?? I wasn’t expecting that & am very interested where this goes & their magic because what an asshole.
- Also was super interested in Dom accepting Hellas with limitations & what that actually means. Why could he accept it vs. not? Is his accepting different than say how Thorne’s relationship was with Danu?
- I understand Thorne at the end being like “what is even real did I ever love him did he love me are we fated to love or just work together” but imma need them to fix that shit ASAP & be back in love.

I enjoyed Shrike! The style is lush and poetic, the setting is dark and beautiful, the characters develop and change. The tie-ins to Celtic mythology and folklore are intriguing. There is plenty of yearning throughout. I’ll be interested to read book 2.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Not quite for me, but undeniably bold and original.
I found the pacing rather slow and the plot hard to follow at times. The bloody smut scenes often left me feeling uneasy. I kept getting lost in the story. It’s clear this book will resonate strongly with a specific kind of reader but that reader is not me.

4✨ what a brilliant debut - a delicious blend of dark academia, gothic fantasy romance and celtic folklore and mythology…what more could you want!
there is so much to love here and I think what I admired most was that I could feel the author’s love (and pain) poured into the pages. so much care and attention to detail all throughout. beautiful prose that was full of emotion and brimming with passion. it is also so lush and atmospheric and I could vividly envision the setting and felt like I was there walking the halls.
something I struggled with is how the first and second half felt like entirely different books - I love the incorporation and blend of it all but I just wish it had been a bit more evenly distributed so that the difference wasn’t so stark. the first half was my favorite and as someone that is not always the biggest fan of dark academia, that was a pleasant surprise! the mystery kept me hungry and their banter and dance steeped in tension had me in an utter chokehold and I thought it was going to be the end of me. unfortunately, as a torturous slow burn lover, things progressed much too fast for me and as we shifted into the fantasy romance half, my intrigue and attention dwindled. it was so beautifully and achingly romantic though and I think it’s just a personal preference that I prefer a lot more agony (hehe) (also my favorite nickname like ever???)
however, the ending did redeem that a bit and I can’t wait for book 2!

WOW. That was just intense and epic and perfection 👌🏻.
There’s dark academia vibes, a broody grump of an MMC, a sassy gorgeous and intelligent FMC, mysterious lore and magic… The twists and turns were so intense and it definitely leaves you saying, wait wtf?

This book is written so beautifully it feels like poetry. Every word flows with purpose, wrapping you in its atmosphere until you can smell the rain on the stone floors and feel the chill that lingers in the academy halls.
The world building is breathtaking. You don’t just read about Adonien Academy, you walk beside Thorne through those misty corridors, hearing the echoes, sensing the magic that hums beneath the surface.
Thorne is fierce and layered, a character who carries both power and pain in every step. And Shrike… there’s something about him that keeps you hooked, questioning, wanting more. Their connection feels dangerous and inevitable in the best way.
The whole story has that gothic, dark academia feel, with writing so rich it lingers even after you’re done reading. If you love stories that make you feel like you’ve been transported somewhere haunted and beautiful, this one will completely consume you.

After following this author on TT & enjoying her stunning poetry, I had to make room on my TBR for her debut (what a stunning cover.) For an author’s first foray, although not perfect, this is a job well done.
This book is split into 2 parts.
Part 1: Right from the start, the writing is all the things: achingly beautiful, tender, lyrical & profound. The descriptors are as if she’s illustrating the picture in my mind. The topics (even for being a fantasy world) are real & raw. I especially enjoyed the Celtic folklore inspiration (although this does make the lingo tough to follow in the beginning but I got used to it eventually.)
I fell in love with the dark academia setting with a gothic spooky castle! The pacing is slower in the first half with the world building unfolding for us as it does for the FMC. The mystery of the fantasy/magic system is intriguing enough to move the plot along.
The FMC is fierce but not in an insufferable way. The MMC is insufferable but in the best way🤣Their dynamic is fascinating with this constant push & pull. I deeply feel for the way their individual loneliness drives them towards each other but in tandem pushes them away from one another. Plus, the side characters are so much fun.
But eventually the story gets derailed closer to Part 2. We take this sexy burn with the poignant writing and lovely prose & propel it into instalust & straight into instalove. They’re kissing/fooling around by 50%. Suddenly, all of that meaningfulness is reduced to just silly behavior & antics; for such thoughtful storytelling, it’s such a pity & a damn shame that the bulk of the romance is spice. This has so much smut for only being a planned duet. The triple speed of the couple really takes away from their big picture.
Then there’s the issue with part 2 as a whole. It’s like being dropped into an entirely different book. Again, all of the meaningful storytelling has shifted gears to the action & training & war. It definitely works & is fun plus I did enjoy them being down bad for each other but at the start, it was a bit weird & jarring. Also, the way the lore unfolds becomes messy & a bit convoluted. But the cliffhanger?! Uch sooo good!
I do think this may be intentional based on the name of the series being The Dichotomy… maybe… nonetheless, this is a unique approach to romantasy that was interesting to read.

I’m a total sucker for gothic romance, but this book? This book came for my soul. It’s was a heady blend of gothic, cottagecore, dark academia, and paranormal romance — all steeped in lush Irish folklore🍃
Thorne, convinced she’s cursed and forced to push everyone away, takes a scholarly (and unhinged) approach to solving the deadly mystery of her life. Years later, she joins an academy devoted to magic and lore research, still chasing answers that refuse to be found.
And what she finds? Girl…are you okay?? 😭
And yes, we absolutely love a fierce FMC who isn’t afraid to stab a bitch from page 1. We love her. We are her 🖤
From the prologue, I was hooked. Charlaa’s prose flows like poetry. It’s dark, elegant, magnetic. Reading Shrike felt like being caught in a riptide, pulled under by its beauty, and deciding you’re fine with drowning because it’s just that gorgeous down there 🌊
Sure, the pacing really was flipped on its head in part 2, and I desperately missed the wicked banter from part 1….but that ending? Ma’am. You can’t just leave us like that 😩

What a hell of a debut.
Exorcism of Faeries by JL Vampa and Nocticadia by Keri Lake have a third contender for my top dark academia spot.
Obsessed.
This is so much more than a compelling dark academia.
It is an intricately built world with a unique magic system.
It is a well-paced story filled with beautiful romance.
It weaves the emotional growth of humans through grief, joy, and sadness in the midst of being caught in a game of the gods; a game they never asked to play.
It gives strength to the bonds built within a found family and reminds us that family isn’t always blood.

Shrike is sharp, strange, and completely addictive. Charla Ayers has a way of blending eerie atmosphere with snappy, almost poetic prose that makes you want to underline half the book.
It’s haunting and mysterious but not heavy, weird in the best way, and somehow still full of heart & emotions.
The kind of story that lingers like a shadow after you close the last page. Definitely one to pick up if you like your reads a little unsettling and a lot unforgettable.

I received this book as an early ARC and just think the world building is so epic! Ayers has created a full, consuming world that feels both gorgeous and singular.
I have not finished the novel, but the beginning is full of deep, nuanced fantasy. Highly recommended if you enjoy dark academia and classic academic fantasy vibes with plenty of secrets.
I'll post an updated review once I finish but wanted to share my thoughts as the book pubs.

This had an interesting magic system and lush environments which I enjoyed. It felt a bit rushed- especially the Pull/push between the two main characters. Overall it was an enjoyable read.

This high fantasy novel tells the story of Thorne Alder, a scholar who believes she is cursed to lose those she loves. She travels to Adonien College to lead a research project, where she meets the brooding, and exceptionally handsome Dominus Shrike.
Thorne is a feisty FMC who is living with what she believes to be a curse over her head - everyone she loves dies. Her grief prevents her from caring deeply for anyone, and she holds everyone at arm's length. There is an initial attraction with Shrike, but his abrasive attitude keeps them distant at first. Shrike is a dark and mysterious character, who is outwardly spiky and aloof, but is actually protecting the scholars and staff from monsters outside the walls. There is an instant hate attraction between them, leading to an enemies-to-lovers relationship developing. Their fated bond, the Notorum, is beautiful and complex, with a depth that is unlike I've seen in any other fated mate plot I've read before.
There is a found family aspect with Elowyn and Eamon, which is heartwarming, particularly in the face of Thorne's continued grief at the loss of her entire family. This theme is also explored with the reveal of Thair being Icarus, Shrike's brother, in disguise. These bonds, additional to her Notorum, allow for Thorne to experience the love she has stopped herself feeling since the loss of her family, and it allows for her character to blossom into the co-leader of the resistant forces against the enemy Gods.
The only reason I didn't give this novel the full five stars is that the magic system didn't feel totally fleshed out, though it had a lot of potential to be really unique and exciting. A bit more development of how exactly it works would be the cherry on the cake.
The final battle was very visceral and exciting, and the ending of the novel had me absolutely stunned - equal parts shocked, heartbroken, and desperate to know what comes next. Charla Ayers is a master at crafting a cliffhanger ending! I absolutely can't wait for book two!

This high fantasy novel tells the story of Thorne Alder, a scholar who believes she is cursed to lose those she loves. She travels to Adonien College to lead a research project, where she meets the brooding, and exceptionally handsome Dominus Shrike.
Thorne is a feisty FMC who is living with what she believes to be a curse over her head - everyone she loves dies. Her grief prevents her from caring deeply for anyone, and she holds everyone at arm's length. There is an initial attraction with Shrike, but his abrasive attitude keeps them distant at first. Shrike is a dark and mysterious character, who is outwardly spiky and aloof, but is actually protecting the scholars and staff from monsters outside the walls. There is an instant hate attraction between them, leading to an enemies-to-lovers relationship developing. Their fated bond, the Notorum, is beautiful and complex, with a depth that is unlike I've seen in any other fated mate plot I've read before.
There is a found family aspect with Elowyn and Eamon, which is heartwarming, particularly in the face of Thorne's continued grief at the loss of her entire family. This theme is also explored with the reveal of Thair being Icarus, Shrike's brother, in disguise. These bonds, additional to her Notorum, allow for Thorne to experience the love she has stopped herself feeling since the loss of her family, and it allows for her character to blossom into the co-leader of the resistant forces against the enemy Gods.
The only reason I didn't give this novel the full five stars is that the magic system didn't feel totally fleshed out, though it had a lot of potential to be really unique and exciting. A bit more development of how exactly it works would be the cherry on the cake.
The final battle was very visceral and exciting, and the ending of the novel had me absolutely stunned - equal parts shocked, heartbroken, and desperate to know what comes next. Charla Ayers is a master at crafting a cliffhanger ending! I absolutely can't wait for book two!

I had such high hopes for this book. The first 40-50% was a 5 star rating for me. I was captured quite quickly by the storytelling, the world building, and the strong willed FMC. I didn’t want to put the book down.
However the second half of the book was a completely different story (literally). The pacing, the plot, and the entire story changed and became a total “dump” of both too much information and not enough at the same time. The constant page after page after page of repetitive smut was boring and completely removed my engagement in whatever was happening. It was far too much.
The ending was rushed, but also not? I don’t quite know how to explain that, but there is absolutely no need for a second book in my opinion, since all the information was dumped into the first.
There is so much potential though, and I think this author is going to publish some really great work once they find their footing!

The pacing, the plot, and the entire story changed and became a total “dump” of both too much information and not enough at the same time. Dominus, on the other hand, is the embodiment of dark temptation. Commanding, magnetic, and utterly unreadable, he’s the walking definition of “maybe I can fix him” energy – except you probably can’t, and that’s half the allure. He’s part saviour, part nightmare, and entirely enthralling.
The tension between Thorne and Dominus builds beautifully, simmering beneath layers of loyalty, desire, and distrust. When Part 1 ended, I actually had to put the book down and breathe. Then Part 2 arrived and obliterated every expectation I had.

The slow build of dread and anticipation, the revelation about the nearby townfolk – those quietly bewitched and hidden under a protective spell – gave everything this eerie, tragic resonance It’s gothic fantasy at its best: beauty wrapped around sorrow, hope entangled with horror.

Shrike… what can I say. This book left me in awe. The prose is gorgeous. The worldbuilding is so in depth and tangible, I felt I was walking the grounds with the characters. Oh, and the characters… I was swooning over them all. Thorne is an absolute badass whose grief and thirst for knowledge is relatable on a personal level. Dominus (daddy Dom, for sure) is so intelligent and broody, yet possessive in a way that’s *chef’s kiss*. Icarus is a total flirt in all the best ways that will make you adore him instantly. I fell in love with the culture and language and. Lore embedded throughout the novel in a way I fell is so rarely seen. Oh! The nickname given to the main character is so unique, I melted when I first read it. Most I’ve seen in books lately make me feel as if the FMC is being belittled, but this one is so fierce and sexy and accurate, I love it. I’ve already read it a few times over and I can say for sure the plot twists will lead you in a direction you won’t see coming. I had to pick my jaw off the floor numerous times. I found myself often saying “what the fuck” in the best ways possible and don’t even get me started on the spice! It wasn’t overly done, rather it added to the storyline and the chemistry between the characters. Another aspect that adds to the beauty of Shrike is how it plays on the senses; many scenes emphasize scents, or descriptive visualizations of creature, or lush textures so well written you can almost feel them… As someone who is big on sensory input, this book was quite the treat! I cannot recommend Shrike enough! I’m desperate for book two already.

Shrike by Charla Ayers
A dark academia novel inspired by Hozier? Shrike was definitely one of my most anticipated advanced reader copies of the year - but did it deliver?
If you’re looking for a quick vibe check, I’d say it’s ACOTAR meets the Battle for Hogwarts with a splash of theology, set to a Hozier album while you’re burning a bergamot and amber candle.
In other words: Shrike is a dark academic, fantasy romance that is heavily inspired by Irish folklore and mythology. It follows protagonist Thorne as she attempts to uncover the cure for her curse in the annals of the Adonien Academy.
In her search, she finds her destiny intricately tied to Master Dominus Shrike, an attractive, arrogant professor who is hiding his true identity.
This novel is an exceptionally beautiful read - from the dark atmospheric descriptions, dripping with prose that appeals to all of the senses, to the intentional choice of typeface and chapter art. As a reader, I could feel the love and attention that went into this story and its presentation. You always feel grounded in a sense of place, and Ayers does a wonderful job of weaving the lore into the narrative without it feeling like an exposition dump. The dialogue is witty and flows naturally, the characters are lovable (I’m an Icarus girl), and overall the pacing is on point.
One of my complaints about the genre, and Shrike falls into this, is how quickly the main characters go from strangers to codependent. In this instance, the two main characters go from academic rivals to supernaturally soul-bound within the first half of the book. I know my Romantasy girlies are not here to read about realistic relationships so I can acknowledge that this is a me problem. I just wish there had been a bit more of a slow burn, but I guess that’s the fated mates trope for you. I don’t want to give too much away but I’m hopeful that the relationship becomes more grounded in book two.
So did it deliver? Yeah, I think it did. I have some hopes for book two… I’d love a return to the dark academia vibes of the first half of book one, and more time spent with tertiary characters (particularly students). I hope there’s more exploration of the land and the cultures within from that academic standpoint. I know we’re building to a final battle - but that dark and atmospheric burn is what sets this world apart from the rest of the “chosen one” Romantasy out there. I trust that Ayers can do it, and I’m really looking forward to what comes next.

I came across Charla's instagram one day, and she said her book was "drenched in Hozier vibes." I knew I had to purchase it immediately since Hozier is one of my favorite artists. Plus the book just sounded amazing.
It is indeed Hozier vibes! I absolutely loved this book. It took me on an epic journey and I'm still there in my brain after having finished it over a week ago.
We meet Thorne, who is searching for answers to what she believes is a curse that has been placed upon her. She attends Adonien Academy to research the myths and history of the land, while trying to search for magic to help her with her problem. She meets Master Dominus Shrike, who she immediately finds maddening, but he just might hold some of the answers that she's looking for. Thorne finds herself drawn to Shrike but caught up between the dark history of her past and the mysteries going on within the academy.
This book sucks you into its world and you feel like you are there right along with Thorne. Charla's writing is so immersive with lush intricate detail. I have never read a book quite like this, and I loved the Irish folklore and the unique magic system weaved throughout. The writing and descriptions are so vivid and atmospheric. Charla does a beautiful job of writing such poetic sentences. I found myself placing tabs and highlighting just about half the book. I loved Thorne from the start. She is strong and a force to be reckoned with, despite all the pain she's gone through in her life. When she first meets Shrike, the banter and tension is immediate. I ate that up. I loved her descriptions of their love for each other. It was an epic love story. There were so many plot twists and shocking moments. Part two of this book really takes you for a ride.
Charla is a very descriptive poetic writer. She does an excellent job at fully immersing you in this world she's created.
Would highly recommend if you love academic settings, banter and tension, unique magic systems, a fierce fmc and a mysterious mmc professor.

Thorne Alder is a protagonist who commands attention. Her search for truth, and the unease surrounding her magic make her journey compelling and deeply human. Dominus Shrike, with his guarded motives and sharp presence, adds tension that drives the story forward without overshadowing it. The balance between mystery and revelation is handled with precision.
What stands out most:
Atmosphere: The world feels grounded and tangible—misty nights, whispered rumors, and a sense of dread that never lets up. It’s immersive without ever relying on excess.
Character depth: Thorne’s choices are flawed but believable. Her strength comes from persistence, not perfection. Shrike’s complexity adds weight to every scene they share.
Magic & identity: The connection between Thorne’s power and her sense of self is explored with restraint and clarity. It’s never over-explained, which makes it more effective.
Controlled romance: There’s romantic tension, but it supports the plot rather than driving it. It adds complexity to Thorne’s decisions without softening her edge.
If anything, I wanted more insight into the academy’s inner workings and its history—those glimpses of larger forces at play were some of the most intriguing parts.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I absolutely would.
Have you ever organically came across an author’s book and before even reading it, immediately know that it will be one of your best reads? I’m a firm believer that certain books have magic that calls to your own magic. A magic that intertwines in your very soul and drowns you in it. This is that book for me. So much so, that I bought a signed copy before I ever even read a page.
The world that Charla has created is steeped in gothic atmosphere, beauty, grief, magic, but most importantly, love. The love that these characters have for each other will forever haunt me in the best of ways.
The world building in Shrike is so beautifully detailed that I could vividly see these characters, the landscapes of Eregahl and sometimes, I swear I could smell the salt and citrus that surrounds Adonien. I also want to drench myself in bergamot, citrus and earth…iykyk
Simply put, this book was a breath of fresh air while simultaneously taking the breath away from me. I will be waiting as patiently as possible for book two because that ending…just wow.

Wow. This book is written for the lovers who live in a fantasy world in their heads constantly day dreaming of magic, castles, and perfect fictional men.
You can tell from how descriptive this writer is about her scene building that she has spent so much time fully immersing herself in the world she built. The little details of each scene is rich, vivid, and intoxicating. The descriptions of smells is so powerful I could literally breathe in the scent of these characters, rooms, and items that I was falling in love with like I was right there.
The love in this book is strong and mature. I enjoyed reading these two characters build their relationship on real emotions and selflessness. Dom constantly taking care of Shrike, awaiting her needs, and emotionally caring for her made me fall in love with his character.

I devoured this book. I picked it up early April while deep in another series, read a few chapters, and told myself I’d come back to it.
Boy did I! I ended up picking it back up and reading the rest of the book in a couple of days.
When a book makes me abandon existing as a human (forgetting to work, eat, sleep) I have to shout it to the masses. The atmosphere this author sets was one of the best I’ve read in a dark romance in some time. I could smell, feel, taste this story. I am sad it ended. 😭
I deeply adore Thorne & Dominus. Their story & relationship was a fast ride, but one that had me literally squealing & gave me butterflies. The way they expressed their love was damn near lyrical, and so beautiful to read.

The first quarter of the book I had some iffy reactions to decisions Thorne was making & her immediate lust/hate for Dom, but after revelations come to light - her choices made more sense. Boy did I! I ended up picking it back up and reading the rest of the book in a couple of days.
When a book makes me abandon existing as a human (forgetting to work, eat, sleep) I have to shout it to the masses. The atmosphere this author sets was one of the best I’ve read in a dark romance in some time. I could smell, feel, taste this story. I am sad it ended. 😭
I deeply adore Thorne & Dominus. Their story & relationship was a fast ride, but one that had me literally squealing & gave me butterflies. The way they expressed their love was damn near lyrical, and so beautiful to read.

Five Stars isn’t enough!!!
Wow, I’m honestly FLOORED. It’s taken me almost an entire day to write this review because nothing feels good enough? Shrike popped up on my TikTok (thank you algorithm gods) and I immediately knew I need to read it but what I couldn’t have predicted is the visceral reaction it would create in me. Charla’s writing is beautiful, haunting, and dare I say life-altering! This is one of those books that will stick with me for a long long time. The characters, Thorne and Dominus, are captivating and so layered. They’re perfect in their imperfection, undeniably meant for each other. There’s this undeniable tension that’s building from the very first page and it’s so well done. You spend the entire book holding your breath and just when you think you can finally breathe, something world-changing happens between the characters that has to reeling (I’m looking at you Epilouge 👀). I am waiting with bated breath for book two and I will be screaming about this book to anyone who will listen!

Well... there went my sleep schedule.
Shrike grabbed me from the beginning and refused to let go. This book had everything I want in a fantasy romance: tension, danger, secrets, and a love interest that had me kicking my feet one minute and questioning my life choices the next.
The chemistry between Thorne and Shrike was chef's kiss. The slow burn had me hanging on every interaction, and the push-and-pull between them kept me turning pages long after I should have gone to bed. I kept telling myself "just one more chapter," and we all know that's the biggest lie a reader can tell themselves.
The world-building was immersive without feeling overwhelming, and the story balanced romance and plot beautifully. Every time I thought I had things figured out, the book tossed another surprise my way.
If dark fantasy romance with high stakes, addictive tension, and morally questionable characters is your thing, add this one to your TBR immediately.
Now excuse me while I stare at a wall and think about these characters for the next week.

Thorne was a FMc I could really get behind. She’s tough, independent and snarky.
Dom - brooding MC - full of mystery, disdain and aloof. A great combination and I loved the push and pull and banter of the first half of the book.
A lush dark academia setting I also really enjoyed the mystery element and scene setting - beautiful descriptive writing - really immersed you in the feel of the world.
My only hesitation is the second half of the book, whilst still enjoyable felt a little disjointed - things happened so quickly, in terms of the world growth/ magic and relationships- almost like a different book- and Thorne and Dom shifted so quickly from rivals to all consuming insta love - for any one seeking a more slow burn this might be a turn off but overall still an enjoyable read.

Ohhhhkay. I need to collect my thoughts!! I genuinely enjoyed everything about this story! The dark and magical academia vibes are just lovely!
I was drawn to this book right away from the start as Throne receives her letter of
acceptance for her proposal to conduct a project for the next term from the Adonien Academy of History and Art. Dominus is mysterious, morally grey, and something captivating about him. Throne is drawn to his cold attitude and can't help with her sparky remarks. That banter is so good and the scented oil has me curious and my imagination running wild at how good he smells! 🤭
Without spoiling this book, I loved how this story unfolds throughout the book, keeping me drawn and wanting to know more. And that ending!! I'm wrecked y'all!! I need book 2 like now!! It is just really good!
I can't wait to continue reading this story because I am not going to stop thinking and wondering what happens next!!
