Friends since they were younglings, Riven and Evianna grew up side by side, two heirs bound by duty and a connection neither of them fully understood. But something fractured between them before they were old enough to name it. Words left unspoken. Feelings buried too deep. And when Riven left Draegon, silence stretched into years.

When he returns for Evianna’s nameday celebration, nothing is as it once was.

A long-dormant bond awakens between them, ancient, powerful, and impossible to ignore. But before they can face what it means, Evianna is stolen from her home, taken by pirates wielding forbidden magic capable of shackling souls and draining life itself.

To save her, Riven must hunt a ruthless enemy across the sea and make an unthinkable sacrifice, because magic demands balance.

To restore what was stolen, one life must be bound to another. Shared fate. Shared death.

Bound by destiny but divided by choice, Riven must face the cruelest truth of loving someone with his entire soul does not guarantee being chosen in return.

And sometimes love demands you loosen your grip… even as your heart splinters in your hands.

WHY do you keep doing this to me Kat !!!!!

The emotions I felt in the book I swear you’re trying to ruin me over and over.

Skybound had me feeling all the feelings. I felt Riven’s emotions and how he feels for Evi. The way she pushed him away had my heart breaking for him. The heartache, the trauma, the love triangle everything these books just keep getting better.

I’m absolutely gutted that this series has come to an end !!!!

The way Riven loves Evi ( right from the start ) but in typical male fashion does stylus things and messes things up.

Once again Kat has written and woven a beautiful story with fae, magic and dragons. The writing draws you in from the beginning and makes you fall in love with the characters. The emotions she weaves throughout the book has you feeling the emotions of the characters. I wanted to scream, throw my kindle, reach for the tissues and shout but at the same time I couldn’t put it down.

The book is amazing!! If i could give it infinite stars i would! It’s beautifully written! It’s a story about childhood friends who became more than friends but she was scared of what it would mean if they continued so she ended it and it shattered his heart. It’s a second chance romance. Fated mates, dragons, magic, pirates, heartbreak…. Everything you need or want in a fantasy this whole series has it!
10/10 recommend!!

Evi got on my nerves sometimes but I didn't hate it. LOL..

I loved seeing the other couples from book one and book two.

The emotional roller coaster the author has put me through with this entire series had me experiencing every feeling one can possibly have. Skybound is a perfect ending to bring all of the books together.

You will need to read Heartbound and Soulbound to fully know the characters in this book and appreciate the surprise characters that come in.

I fell in love with Riven, the MMC, and Evi, the FMC. Their love story is beautiful and gut wrenching. They have so much they have to endure from first love to tragic moments to heartbreak to forever love! Their story is perfect and endless!

I am in love with the authors writing and how she is able to literally make me feel like I am there with each character and in their world.

4.5⭐️ (ARC Read)

I went into this already knowing K.T. Carpenter was going to gut punch me… and she absolutely did.
This finale felt high stakes the entire time. Dragons, politics, political tension, and that constant pressure where every choice actually matters.

Evianna’s story really came full circle for me. The history with Revin, that childhood best friends to love tension, mixed with everything she built with Killian… it made the emotional conflict feel real. And when everything shifts and forces them into the same space, the tension is so good.
And listen, I don’t like love triangles. But this one worked. No easy outs, no convenient resolution. She actually has to choose, and you feel the weight of it.

Also, loved seeing characters from the first book come back, especially Revin’s parents. It made the ending feel complete.

Honestly just a really satisfying, emotional ending to the series.

"Go skybound. Fly. See the stars. Take the risks. And don't wait for anyone - not even me."
That just one of the many highlights I made in this book, because WOW! I will say 5+ stars, easily friends.

The heartache, the drama, the love triangle, the trauma, the plot twist, and the ending… I went through all of my emotions reading this one. And didn’t want it to end.
Don't sleep on this series. It's such a phenomenal, emotional, and beautiful story.
Kat, you are talented beyond any words I could possibly use to explain. Don't ever stop writing. Your stories touch so many of us. “Don’t mistake caution for wisdom. Sometimes it’s just fear wearing better clothes.”

And you better not be playing with me when you write "endings are rarely what they appear to be." Bc I'm holding out hope for more from this kingdom.

Skybound is the final installment of this series and it's a story that is the culmination of generations. Friendship is hard, especially when distance is a factor. When Fate steps in, the alteration of lives is inevitable... And sometimes the heart and what's fated war in the deepest levels of your soul. Pepper in magic, dragons, and a vendetta against your very bloodlines and you have a recipe for a journey that not even your ancestors were prepared for. Unity takes a strength only those with an understanding of balance possess. The journey of fate and decisions of the heart kept me gasping. The love and understanding that comes when following peace sometimes means pain... But it's a journey I would walk all the same with these characters. My heart is heavy that this is the end of this series, but my love for this world will always remain.

🌶️🌶️🌶️

I have absolutely loved this series ever since my friend told me to read Heartbound, book one which led me to completely immersing myself in this series. Prior to reading Skybound I would have said Fatebound, book three was and still is my favorite but... Skybound is really giving it a run for its money. I do not want this series to end!! I have fallen in love with the characters, most of them... And the dragons, the world, all of it!! K.T. Carpenter is an incredible writer and overall storyteller, she's going to go very far and I truly believe she will be a best seller. I will leave you with this, have tissues near and make sure you have snacks, there may be some stress eating while reading this book lol

I loved seeing the original characters from the first two books show up in this one, this book was just perfect in every sense. The way it all wrapped up together in the end was beautiful. Starting from the beginning with heartbound, seeing how much Kat has grown as a writer with all of her books is amazing and inspirational. Especially this one, knowing it is the end of the Aetherlyn series the way she made this story/series comes around full circle is amazing. I did really enjoy the first person/ multiple POVs. you really could feel what the characters are going through. You can always count on Kat to rip your heart out but she always is able to put it back together. Kat's books were the first dragon/ romantasy books that got me to fall in love.

K.T has done it again! This book was an emotional roller-coaster but one I was happy to be on. Riven is one of my favorite MMC! watching his love for the Evi was so genuine plus who doesn't love some banter. This book roped in the 1st book which I loved. I can honestly say I would reread this series again. I love the authors writing. She does a wonderful job captivating and making you feel like you are in the story with the characters.

Oh my god K.T Did it again! So consuming, so freaking good, so much tension and chaos through the story but so well plotted and written and I absolutely devoured it! Such a great conclusion to the series (though devastated that it’s the end) Dragons, pirates, fated mates, spice. Ugh I loved every minute of it!

I would like to start by saying that my reviews are not always full of intellectual insight, but I fiercely loved being able to read this book.

This author has this incredible ability to write in such a way that I never feel as though I am simply sitting with a book and reading. It is so much more. The words come to life within the pages and play out these enchanting scenes and finery.

From the very beginning I was moved. The world around me dissipated and I was emerged into this beautiful world. What a ride. The build up of life and love between magic, the dragons, the land. Brilliant! These characters are forever a part of me. This book will live with me forever. I took this ride knowing I would feel emotional. And yes I cried, many times in fact. I strongly recommend this book and the entire series. Read it and you too will fall in love with not just the characters, but also the author and how she puts words together to create such beauty. BRILLIANT!! I cannot wait for more from this author!

This is one of it not my favorite book of the series, the duo of Evi and Riven is immaculately written by K.T.

The tension, the drama and the back and forth between the two is one I’ll be thinking about for a while.

This book gives me Pirates of the Caribbean x somewhat Taken vibes, then add in dragons and magic- and I think that’s why I adored it so much.

The pain and sorrow was of course also there because it wouldn’t be a book she wrote without that 🤣

The spice was spicing and the vibes were there! 🔥 5/5
K.T. Kills it once again 😍

What a beautiful ending to a phenomenal series. Her writing is poetic in her descriptions. She makes you feel like you are there experiencing it with her characters. Riven was my fav... well outside of his parents. One of the best parts for me was when he hugged his mom, and how Riven described her feeling like home. I got choked up with the coven part as well. If you haven't read this series you definitely should!!! Highly recommend.

I’ve had the absolute pleasure, and so much fun being the alpha reader for this series. Writing a book is no small feat, and I’m incredibly grateful that Kat trusted me to walk this journey alongside her.

I continue to be in complete awe of the way Kat brings these stories to life. While I’m heartbroken that the series has come to an end (even as I try to convince her to write just one more), I couldn’t be prouder of Kat and to have been part of it.

Full review coming soon
Update- it’s a month later and I still don’t have the words to explain how good this

I’ll simply say this: absolutely incredible. A true rollercoaster of giggles, gasps, pearl-clutching moments, tears, and pure awe.

“Skybound” by K.T. Carpenter is the kind of story that wraps around your heart and refuses to let go—like fate itself tightening its grip.

From the very first page, I was completely swept into a world where love isn’t just felt… it’s woven into destiny. Riven and Evianna’s relationship is breathtaking—childhood friends turned something deeper, something ancient, something that feels inevitable even when everything tries to tear them apart.

The emotional tension? Immaculate. The longing? Painfully beautiful. The stakes? Sky-high in the most devastating way.

What truly makes this story shine is how it balances sweeping fantasy with deeply personal heartbreak. The bond between Riven and Evianna isn’t soft or easy—it’s raw, fractured, and achingly real. Every choice feels like it carries the weight of the world, and that “shared fate, shared death” thread lingers like a haunting melody you can’t shake.

And let’s talk about that premise—magic that demands balance, love that requires sacrifice, and a hero forced to confront the cruel truth that loving someone completely doesn’t guarantee they’ll choose you back. It’s the kind of emotional punch that leaves you staring at the ceiling at 2AM, reconsidering your entire existence.

This book is equal parts epic adventure and soul-deep ache, with a romance that burns slow, fierce, and unforgettable.

If you love:✨ childhood friends to lovers (with angst that hurts so good)✨ destiny vs choice✨ high-stakes magic and sacrifice✨ emotional damage (the delicious kind)

…then “Skybound” will own you.

I didn’t just read this book—I felt it.And I’m still not over it….
