Everyone in Echo Falls knew what happened that tragic Fourth of July Oliver Kipman went crazy and killed his best friend, vanishing without a trace. At least, that was what everyone believed–except for Gianna Reyes.
Growing up as the niece of a former detective and the daughter of a woman she never knew, Gianna is no stranger to mysteries. And Oliver’s disappearance is no exception. So when her uncle turns down her one chance to study at her dream criminal defense program, Gianna decides to do the one thing everyone else has given up on Find Oliver Kipman.
In an attempt to prove herself to her uncle and solve the unanswered question that had been on her mind for years, Gianna sets out to solve her town’s biggest case. With the help of Oliver’s younger brother, and Echo Fall’s golden boy, Theodore Rodriguez, the unusual trio work together to retrace Oliver's steps. But as their journey sucks them further into the past, Gianna realizes there’s more to the case than meets the eye. From unraveling her town's dark secrets, discovering a link to a decades old case, and obtaining a stalker–this case might just change everything Gianna thought she knew about the people in her life–and about herself.
Keona Mistisshen fell in love with reading at a young age and has been falling ever since. After multiple attempts at writing a book at fifteen years old, she finally managed to pull together the world of her debut novel, The Disappearance of Oliver Kipman. When she’s not writing or getting lost in a book, you can find her crocheting, strolling through bookstores, or spending time with her family.
* ੈ✩‧˚ 𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤: ⤷ wowwwwwwww. need I say more? seriously, this book was so good. like, take A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, add in a *sprinkle* more murder and familial duplicity, and BAM! you get The Disappearance of Oliver Kipman. seriously, this book was AGGGTM in a different font, and I loved it. ⤷ the love interest??????? o. m. g. loved him. he was our cute little smarty pants academic rival and we. are. obsessed. ⤷ the mystery?? I can’t even- like, I love how it gets so complicated, but the author makes it very easy to follow along and it doesn’t get confusing. that’s a big plus for me. I do feel like some aspects, especially towards the end, we VERY coincidental and every aspect of Gianna’s life was so interwoven that it made it a little less believable, but hey, that wasn’t really the point now was it? ⤷ also this is a debut??? like that’s genuinely so insane to me, this girl has just published her first book and the prose and plot and suspense are this amazing?? BookTok level, I tell you. ⤷ overall, this book was insane in a good way, and like it really wasn’t a long read too; it was just perfect. loved.
* ੈ✩‧˚ 𝕨𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕀 𝕣𝕖𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕞𝕖𝕟𝕕? ⤷ yes! if you enjoyed A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder, or like mystery in general, then this book is definitely for you!
* ੈ✩‧˚ 𝕣𝕖𝕝𝕖𝕒𝕤𝕖: ⤷ The Disappearance of Oliver Kipman releases November 1, 2025!!!
* ੈ✩‧˚ 𝕡𝕣𝕖-𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕕: ⤷ thanks to the author, Keona Mistisshen, for giving me a free e-arc in exchange for an honest review!!! all thoughts are my own <3
3.5 ★ | Okay, so this 𝘸𝘢𝘴 good. But it definitely gives me A Good Girls Guide To Murder vibes. But like..maybe too much? There are just 𝘴𝘰 many things that were a bit too similar in my opinion.

The ending is different than how Agggtm ends but you can definitely tell that Keona got inspo from it. This book (while good) seems like Agggtm in a different font. Though there are parts that you can tell was Keona herself and I loved it.
The writing was really nice , and I really liked Theo and Nathan's characters a lot. For a debut novel, I really enjoyed this one and will definitely be reading more from Keona in the future. ⚠︎ 𝙥𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙧 ⚠︎ I am looking forward to book 2 (though, 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩, I feel like that one 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 just be rlly similar to Good Girl Bad Blood as well). In the epilogue it says, and I quote “𝘝𝘢𝘭? 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨? 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥?" 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘝𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦'𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦. "𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘓𝘪𝘢𝘮." 𝘏𝘦𝘳 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘥. "𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬... 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘩𝘦'𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨." Who's missing in Good Girl Bad Blood? Jamie. Who's Jamie? One of Pip's 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 older brother. Who's Liam in this book? Gianna's 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 boyfriend.
Anyway, thank you to Keona for giving me a free e-arc in exchange for an honest review. I truly wish I wasn't finishing the book literally ONE day before it's published but oh well. I would definitely recommend this book if you like Agggtm.. and maybe if you don't mind quite some similarities between books
4.5⭐️!!! I honestly don’t even know where to start for this review because…. Wow!!! This book truely deserves to be up there with the bestsellers! It’s not often that I rate mystery books over 4 stars, so this rating really is a testament to how much I loved this book!
Firstly, the characters. I instantly fell in love with Gianna, Nathan, and Theo! They were all written so beautifully, with such complex motivations and personal backgrounds. And the mystery itself was soooo unique and complex! I was hooked right from the prologue, and was captivated by the mystery for the entirety of the novel! This book was packed with so twists and information reveals that had my jaw on the ground! And not only that, they were realistic twists, ones that connected to the bigger picture, revealing the true mystery in the most well-coordinated way. And I just want to say, Keona truly is a genius! Her ability to construct such a complex storyline, with so many tiny connected details and clues, creating subtle foreshadowing without giving anything away is incredible! I binged this book, not wanting to put it down at all. I cannot believe this her debut novel, just because of how amazing it was! I fell in love with her writing style, and way of writing her characters, so I will without a doubt be reading anything she writes in the future!
This book is PERFECT for fans of A Good Girls Guide to Murder. It has the same small town vibes, loveable characters, and of course, a thrilling and unique mystery! I could not recommend this book highly enough!! I cannot wait to get a paperback copy upon its release in November.
And Keona, congrats on such an amazing debut novel, this truly was an absolute pleasure to read!
First off I wanna say thank you to the author for this amazing arc read sorry if I’m not the greatest at this since this is my first ever arc book! This book was amazing I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with this big of an impact I went through so many different emotions and I loved the found family in this book!I wish I could read about Theo,Gianna, and Nathan all the time.I will be forcing my friends to read this book the second it comes out!And again thank you for the arc read I will be reading anything by this author from now on!
I really enjoyed this book! I loved the characters and the plot twist was amazing! I was so intrigued the whole time and I need more of Gianna and the gang. The only shame is that this book isn’t getting more love!
First, I’d like to say I’ve followed Keona on social media for a while and was so glad to be chosen as an arc reader! It definitely lived up to all of the plot and character teasers!! I wasn’t disappointed one bit. I instantly fell in love with the characters and their relationship dynamics, which were so well written. I also enjoyed how many twists and small details there were without being super hard to follow. It was truly unexpected where they all lead and I can’t wait for her next novel!! This was a perfect fall read too🍂📚 Couldn’t put it down and finished in two days, definitely recommend to anyone who loves mystery!! This was an amazing debut novel!!!
Side note: I absolutely love that she made a Pinterest board for the characters and setting🤭
This was a great read, and is astonishing for Keona Mistisshen's first book! One thing that I have to admit is that this book seemed very similar to AGGGTM. I didn't mind that too much, it was just something I noticed. ANYWAYS!
I absolutely LOVED this story. The mystery was intriguing, and I could tell that so much thought was put into this story. The characters were written out so well, I wish that Valarie and Liam had a little more time on the page, I feel like I didn't get to understand that relationship too much. I think that the author made sure each and every character was fleshed out and with their own unique voice-even the side characters.
My heart went out to the main trio, Gianna, Theo, and Nate. I loved each and every one of them, and I loved their friendship.
The ending of this book(by that I mean the last 100-ish pages) I FLEW threw! Such a crazy ending, though I admit I figured one part() before it was revealed. But besides that, I was left guessing and guessing!
Overall, it was such a great read! I love keeping up with the author's journey through social media(I'm super excited about her fantasy and her ghost books)!!!
OH MY GOODNESS! I did not see that Ending coming! This was very similar to AGGTM but it had its own twists and was very different in a good way! I think Theodore Rodriguez has now claimed a spot on my book boyfriend’s list. He’s so sweet and funny and his nick name for Holmes, it was just to die for. I really didn’t expect to fall in love with this book as much as I did, for someone who has just written there first book I know you’re going to go very far Keona. This book is good enough to be book tok worthy and I’m definitely going to start posting about this book so people will hear about it. I really hope you can get a great fandom and I really need to know where Liam went. I’m excited to read from you in the future!

Keona Mistisshen's writing is soooo good. I loved the mystery she set up with Ollie and Grant! The book had all the vibes of AGGGTM and was a really quick read. I loved the characters and their dynamics. The twist at the end was such a rollercoaster!
I'm so excited to see what else this author has to come out with(I definitely will be buying anything she puts out).
This book is soo fricking good aaand a debut novel which is absolutely insane! This is for sure one of my favorite books this year! I will forever devour any mystery book with a teen girl detective wannabe. And I will definitely buy every book Keona will publish in the future!!
OMG the plot twists are the best this book is filled with twist and turns for the people who don't like generic plot twists they are very well thought. This is an amazing debut novel. I can't wait for her to write more.
