They call him the Salvatore family’s most loyal assassin. I call him the man who ruined me.
Enzo Moretti doesn’t miss a target. But when the boss orders him to put a bullet in me, his finger hesitates.
Because five years ago, I disappeared with his child growing inside me… And never looked back.
Now he’s faking my death and locking me away in a remote cabin. He says it’s to protect me. But every kiss tastes like possession. And every night, I forget that his hands are stained with blood.
The longer we hide, the more the truth unravels. The evidence against me was planted. The traitor is in his inner circle. And he’s been whispering in Enzo’s ear for years.
When Enzo finally discovers who it is, the betrayal is so deep it could start a war. And just as we’re ready to run… They take our son.
Extremely fast paced, they are already banging on page 2, at least they exchanged name two seconds before. It felt more like she was just his f#ckbunny than his love-interest.
There is no build-up, literally nothing. Everything is rushed. Then she is pregnant, then she asks him where he stands, he says with his boss, then she fakes her death, then it's 5 years later, then he finds her, first thing they do, they bang before even talking things through, then she goes back right away. Yawn, they never had a decent conversation. Nothing, it's like the writer just wanted everything to be over in a blink. You don't ask your baby-daddy a hypothetical question and run away based on his hypothetical answer without actually telling him you are pregnant. This was just silly.
There is a lot of telling and little showing in this book. Zero chemistry, zero development. All one big rush. Not for me.
This was a good book, it is the 3rd book in the series. This is Enzo’s story, he is the bitmap for the family. He is loyal, trustworthy and intense. He sees the h at a gathering at her family’s home. They share a n intimate moment which doesn’t stop. She discovers that she is pregnant and decides to leave the mob life. She helps the wife of a rival family to escape and then she fakes her own death. 5 years later her past comes back to haunt her in the form of the hitman Enzo and the father of her son. He doesn’t know about the boy but brings them back. They discover there’s a traitor within the family and she is kidnapped when she finds the truth. The plot is very well written full of twists and turns, betrayal and murders. In the end they are able to leave the past and live a normal life.
This book feels like it’s trying to be something it’s not. It is overloaded with metaphors and analogies every other paragraph that makes it almost exhausting to read. There is a fine balance for using analogies when describing things and this author overused the hell out of them. When you break the story down into its plot, it truly is boring. The characters are hard to like, because we don’t know WHY they do anything. Instead of feeling like I’m engulfed in a story, I felt like I was reading a high schoolers essay that just learned to use analogies. There is no connections between characters and hardly any dialogue.
The first 30% of the book was good. I was vibing and having a good time, then the writing started to really drag out and bestie was getting descriptive with every little thing that it was getting annoying and made the pacing slow down so much then it got fast then slowed down again. The pacing was just so off. I’m not even convinced the mcs even like each other. They were so bland by the end of the book.
Enzo, the silent deadly hitman, carrying out Luca Salvatore’s wishes, Aria Lombardi the daughter of the Lombardi family met at a gala and had a tryst together. She ended up pregnant and then disappeared, so many things happened to them. This story was amazing and I really enjoyed reading this series!
This book was soooo good and brought out all he feels for me. However, I wish you could've kept better track of your characters timeline, or maybe I wasn't supposed to catch the differences. Nevertheless I did and it didn't take anything away from the book. I look forward to reading more from you.
I like her writing, but I'm feeling some kinda way. I dont know, but it feels like the inconsistencies are adding up. I'm not sure if she has always done this or its just this series. I've read her before, and I don't remember being this frustrated. Still moving on though.
This story of Enzo and Aria is packing with feelings, drama Mafia life. It is a powerful story of love and danger. It is the kind of story that I could not put down. There is violence, secrets and is not predictable. Lisa Cullen has written a powerful story of everlasting love between two people who are never sure if they will ever be together.
Another enjoyable book in this series. The storylines are all connected, which ties the many characters together. I loved the happily ever after for Aria and Enzo and can’t wait to read Dante’s story!
The story line was good but the over description detail in the book took up over half the book. The characters were good but it was like the author spent more time on describing than the character development.
Beautifully written with just the right balance of sex, sin, tension, and violence. Lisa Cullen clearly knows how to capture a reader and keep them in thrall.
