It's Christmas day, and all Scarlet's coworkers at Santa's Grotto have run off and left her to clean up. With all the mess made from excited kids unwrapping presents and adults enjoying free eggnog, there's so much to do. So, she's probably imagining it when the candy canes start talking to her. But, as she goes deeper into the grotto, their voices get louder, until she's suddenly strung up by tinsel and Daddy and Mommy Cane, as well as a whole hoard of sentient candy canes that start using her.
Caned is a Christmas Sentient Object Surprise featuring a human Christmas elf and candy canes who love to share.
When Abby warned us at the beginning of the book that there was going to be an immense amount of all things mint in this book she wasn't kidding! She had me salivating for a candy cane for the first time in probably FOREVER! On to the good stuff...
A vast majority of us smutty romance readers have probably read about a candy cane going up someone's... stocking, or if you are like me, you've had your stocking invaded by candy canes. IYKYK.
This book however makes the full-size candy canes seem like nothing.
Because Scarlet had every hole filled with every manor of candy cane you can think of, probably some you haven't.
That isn't even counting the tinsel! Yeah, the TINSEL! The tinsel comes before Mommy and Daddy do. BAHAHAHA!! P.S. You'll learn about Mommy and Daddy when you read this book. We don't do spoilers here.
You'd think that would be all in an 88-page Christmas novella, right? WRONG! THERE IS SO MUCH MORE! The shenanigans haven't even really begun by this point.
If sentient object romances aren't your thing, you might not like this one. However, as a girly pop who has fallen in love with sentient object romances because of Abby this one gets all of the stars!
If you want a fun, out of the box holiday spicy adventure...take a walk down Candy Cane Lane.
We have Scarlet here who finds herself alone on Christmas Eve. Or so she thinks. She's working on cleaning up after pictures with Santa at Santa's Grotto and she finds herself in a situation where Mommy and Daddy Candy Cane and their Candy Cane hive need to be fed to survive until next Christmas. These Candy Canes feed on Scarlet and her arousal in more ways than you can possibly think. This story was a quick, extremely creative and spicy read that will have you looking at holiday candy in a whole new way. LOL.
This is another silly but also very spicy and minty short story. The sentient object books are definitely for those more open to the strange and fantastic.
Scarlet is working in Santa's Grotto as an Elf for the holidays. She's been trying to get enough money to start her own business. She lives the holidays and has an obsession with candy canes. She stayed late to clean up before the busiest day starts. She has no idea just how not alone she will be tonight.
When the tinsel and candy canes come to life and need your pleasure so they can survive what do you say? Scarlet absolutely said yes. Enter the mint syrup which will keep you coming all night long.
I can not imagine having to clean up after this mess. Lol. I absolutely love these crazy books.
I received this arc and I was so excited to read it! So let me start off by saying we listen and we don’t judge. If you love Christmas and candy canes, then this one is for you! This book was pure spice and I enjoyed every second of it. Is it realistic? No. Would I want to be skewered by daddy’s candy cock and let every candy cane in the Grotto take a turn with me? Ya know what, I might! Mind ya business! If you’re looking for a quick read with pure smut, then you should definitely read this.
Wonderfully delicious short and spicy holiday treat. Scarlett definitely got herself stuffed with peppermint candy canes and loved every minute of it . The amount of sweetness she has in her body would have been horrible for a diabetic. I really enjoyed this very festive story .
Sentient object romances are definitely an interesting read for sure. This fits the bill lol if you’re looking for absolutely unhinged smuttiness between an FMC and holiday decor… give it a read. The mechanics are fun to try to picture 😂.
Absolutely unhinged! This tops Basted for the wildest sentient romance I have ever read. I will NEVER look at a candy cane … or tinsel… the same way again!
This time last year I read the brilliant Basted by Abby and following that, in the Summer, Creamed.
This book is the third in the Beastly Feasts series and is still really, my first real foray into the sentient object romance(?) genre.
As I said last time, I'm still working out just how a really feel about the genre - but I totally trust Abby now (having read many of their books) and always know that I'm in for a fun read.
Now, don't get me wrong, these quick read novellas do come with plenty of content warnings and I would definitely recommend that you check those out before starting - but I tend to be ok with most things and am happy to read them all without thinking too hard about any of them (in fiction!)
The festive period is by far my favourite time of the year and so obviously, I was going to jump at the chance to read this book.
I'm not too sure though, just how I feel about admitting that I have a soft spot for candy canes - I certainly have a slightly different view after reading this - but luckily, I've never been keen on eating them - I just love that stripey, red and white image so much!
This was so much fun and I absolutely loved the idea of all the tiny candy canes milling around but I have to say that I've never been too keen on the Daddy kink, but then there was so much else going on here that I just whizzed through this.
The ending took a slight turn even further into the dark side - but I loved this little colony twist and it was great to see Scarlett fulfilling her dreams in the future.
Another great addition to this series and the perfect (super spicy) speedy read for the festive break!
Abigail Hunter's "Caned" is short, only 88 pages. But wow. It's jam packed with candy. About ninety percent of the story takes place in Santa's Grotto. I'll never look at tinsel and candy canes the same. Steamy, sizzling hotness. That said, readers should take heed of the trigger warnings. I didn't think I had triggers. Ms. Hunter proved me wrong. This was over the top, even for her. I liked the plot. Daddy and Mommy Candy Cane need energy to grow their candy cane colony. Parents and excited children, munching on the red and white candy help. But primal, orgasmic energy is what they need most. And Scarlett, with no significant other, is perfect for the job. That's the plot. Pretty straightforward. Eye opening, hair straightening and shocky pearl clutching, as well. I never thought of myself as a prude, but no. No. Too much for me. I received an advanced copy of this e book and this is my review.
OMG I read this in one sitting. So spicy, so engaging.. I'll definitely be reading the rest of Abigail's library. Caned is mostly one epic night, very focused on the FMCs pleasure, and all from her point of view. It calls for suspension of disbelief.. sentient candy canes, hive mind and all, but the FMC is with you on that. There are TW at the beginning, and there's quite a lot going on through different parts of the story: a bit of dubcon at the beginning, daddy/mommy kink, BDSM, Wet&Messy, triple penetration, and both FF & FM. Having said that, it's mostly just one step into each potential trigger and wicked hot throughout. Good, minty fresh fun.
This was an amazing book. I did receive this as an arc, and I was so excited. Any of these books Abby hunter writes are always spicy, wild, and make you wish you were the main character. Scarlett was alone on Christmas eve so daddy and mommy candy cane and the whole hoard of sentient candy cane in Santa's Grotto made good use of her. I loved this book it made me very happy. This is one I wished I was the FMC. To each its own, I recommend if these books are your cup of tea, please read it is worth it.
Another amazing pieces from Abby!!! I absolutely loved this one, ESPECIALLY because it was a Christmas themed one! Although there was more spice than plot (which I don't mind, in the least!), the spice was extremely unique! We have monsters that literally have a SEASONAL form, which is on par with the series this is a part of -- and precisely the reason why I love it! I definitely look forward to getting this as a paperback, because I'll be rereading this EVERY Christmas season! If you love unique monsters (with an epic twist ;) ), I HIGHLY recommend this piece!
This story was RIDICULOUS in all the best ways 🤣🤣. If you’re looking for a short, fun, sentient object read for the season that is PACKED with spice and has a cute ending Abby is your girl, I usually stick to her MM books but after this one I might have to go check out the other sentient books. The line “A pussy car wash had never been on my Christmas list, but it was now.” Absolutely SENT ME 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow.. Honestly, I love how creative her mind is but I did not see this coming. Although, I am not disappointed what so ever. It was very different and seriously enthralling. I wanted to see what would happen and where the story would go. I didn’t expect it to be the way it was but it was in no way a dud. I enjoyed seeing things unfold. Yay for creative and unique ways of storytelling!
Just when I thought, she couldn't make a novella any more steamy, she did it again! Abby Hunter managed to take the beloved candy canes that we love so, and make them even more delicious. I absolutely LOVED this novella from beginning to end, and enjoyed how she wrapped up the story perfectly. Let's just say, I won't be looking at a candy cane or tinsel the same again.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Absolutely perfect little erotica, sentient story. Mild grey themes with a bit of dub con thrown in, but all wrapped in a pretty little bow by the end. Quick read to bump up your end of year goal, or just a touch of brain rot for a busy holiday season. You will spend the rest of Christmas side eyeing the candy canes, that's for sure!
I love all of Abby Hunters books! This little romp is very Christmas themed and is perfect to get you in the Christmas spirit… or the Christmas mood maybe is a better way to say it, haha! The Candy Canes are alive and excited for some fun with one of Santa’s sweet (mall) elves. Scarlet sure loves peppermint!
I’m never going to look at Candy Canes the same way again! I haven’t read many sentient object romances, but Caned by Abby Hunter definitely delivered on the erotic holiday spirit. It was super spicy and entertaining—perfect if you’re looking for a quick erotic festive read packing peppermint punch.
Ugh I love Abby Hunter, she is a sentient object romance goddess. This was so good, it was pretty dark and dirty which is a perfect pairing to such sweet candies dishing out the “love”. 5 stars, super spicy, non stop sentient object action, it is just as jammed packed as our FMC gets with candy cane juice! lol so good, loved it!
Scarlet has an obsession with candy canes. So when she ends up staying late to clean up the Grotto all the tinsel and little candy canes come out to play along with Daddy and Mommy. This is a short extra spicy book that was so so good!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
How does this have that many 5 star ratings? 😭 I’m starting to think it’s from the mommy and daddy kink and not the actual content. It has me laughing at the beginning and then I just felt numb to it. I don’t know. I’m so turned off by mint now, I don’t even think I could handle a drop of essential oil after this.
Spicy, spicy, pepperminty, and spicy! Fun and creative holiday smut. Scarlet gets the candy cane surprise of her life after closing and cleaning up the Grotto on Christmas Eve. Check the trigger warnings, but this story was exactly what I’d hoped it would be. Enjoy!
This was a silly quick spicy read i enjoyed it and had a blast reading it. Mommy & Daddy candy canes come to left with their mini candy canes and tinsel and that do some filthy thing to Scarlett when she work late in Santa Grotto. I recommend this book.
This gives a new outlook on candy canes. I am not going to get into this book too much because part of the fun is discovery. If you have been reading this series, you think you know what is going to happen. Ms. Hunter took this one to new heights. Things readers would have never dreamed of. Scarlet worked in the Grotto as one of Santa's Little Helpers. Scarlet did not enjoy the outfit she had to wear but loved that there were candy canes everywhere. Scarlett loved candy canes and that made her perfect for the job. Please clear your mind when you read this and let the words of Ms. Hunter take you to a world full of possibilities. Only Ms. Hunter could create a HEA with candy canes. I loved it. Please read the trigger warnings. This story will definitely take readers to places they never thought of. I don't want to get too much into the story line. Just know that Scarlett has a good time. Spice is on ten with this one so be prepared.
Who thought sentient candy canes could be a ticket to a night of christmas joy? This spicy novella has several kinks and creative uses of candy canes and tinsel guaranteed to give holiday cheer in the naughtiest of ways 😉 🎄
Loved this. Such a fun ridiculous wild ride of read this was. As someone who loves candy canes and all things minty it definitely had me chuckling throughout the entirety of the book. The spice is fun and I’ll never look at candy canes the same way again.
This is a fun romp for the holidays. Scarlet definitely got rewarded for staying behind to clean Santa's grotto. If you enjoy sentient objects coming to life in more ways than one, this is the story for you. I enjoyed myself.
