The final book in the Bennett sisters series, features the daughter of the first book’s heroine. Lily’s fiancé was killed in an accident, which sent her running home, and to a new house. Dylan’s family has always heard the call of their soul mates, and when he hears his, he comes home to find her in the house that was his father’s home.
As with the rest of the series, this is romantic suspense with paranormal elements. Both the hero and heroine have gifts, which they use to help against the bad guys. It’s an entertaining series, this one has a few more paranormal events than most of the others, and it was a good way to finish the series out. Of course, there are other linked series to read...
Recommended for those who enjoy romantic suspense with paranormal events.
I've gone through a LOT of Kate's books. They've been mostly enjoyable, but unfortunately they've also become predictable. Got bad guys after you? No problem, just leave all of your protection to step outside for some air. Repeatedly. Need to figure out something? Just dither around getting into dangerous situations, but don't bother to ask any of your family members who could find the answer in a minute. Have a piece of incriminating evidence the bad guys know you have? Just leave it laying around somewhere, I'm sure it'll still be there when you decide to get back to it. I get tired of reading when the characters start to act like idiots when their back story set up is the opposite.
Lily is all grown up and just bought a house. This story had some bones to it. I enjoyed the ghosts and her new hottie Dylan. It was nice to read that Lily remained a smart, independent woman even as she was losing her heart to Dylan. There was a good little mystery in here as well as a bad guy who wasn’t expecting Lily to be tough. Good finale to the series!
I was a little disappointed with the final book of the Bennett sisters. I found it a struggle to read, like the story did not flow as well as the others.
Lily aged 25 is grown up and has returned home following the death of her fiance Joe. She has purchased a home and one day a handsome stranger knocks on her door and refuses to leave. He is the son of the previous owner and the house has been in his family for generations.
The stranger Dylan Sawyer received the 'call' to come home - his soul has found his mate and she now owns his family home.
Trying to win her heart as well as keep her safe from harm whilst some treasure hunters try and find a mystery tale, it had potential to be a really good novel but in my point of view, failed to deliver.
It was unfortunate as I've been a big fan of the Bennett sisters books for awhile and I can only hope the Phantom Protectors continue.
I will still recommend the book as I have given it 3 stars. Just don't put too much expectations on it and you won't be disappointed.
I've read every book in this series. They are easy reads but with a lot of fun, family, and adventure. I especially enjoy reading about the second generation of Bennetts in the last couple of books. Lily and Dylan had great chemistry, and the storyline was interesting. I definitely recommend reading this series in order.
I really enjoyed the story. It was lite and easy just when I needed it. The mystery part was to easy to figure out, compared to the others in the series. I have read them all. Thanks for the down time.
