I'll have betterwords for it later but my god Toni Morrison's prose makes room for itself under your skin I'm not sure how else to describe the effect of her writing

The prose alone is worth a 5. Toni Morrison is amazing. But her use of allegory and metaphor is also part of the package. Definitely needed a reading guide to understand all of the nuance in this, and while it won’t be one of my favorite books, I appreciate the depth and beauty.
