What do you do when your best friend goes missing and no one seems to care?
Take matters into your own hands.
Lena is a Tragically Single Hopeless Romantic with zero time for dating, who will do anything necessary for the people she loves. When her best friend Julia went missing 18 months ago, she refused to stop looking for her, even when everyone else gave up.
Raven is a Chronic Commitmaphobe with a heart of gold and zero desire to tie herself down. She tossed her dream of following in her fathers’ footsteps and being a cop out the window when she realized how much red tape she would have to cut through to truly help people choosing to open her own PI firm instead.
When fate brings them crashing into each other’s lives, nothing will be the same. Lena needed help searching, and Raven just happened to be the Private Investigator she needed. When Lena ends up missing too, Raven must work fast to find them both before she becomes Another Lost Girl…
Breathe, Lena. She’s going to find you. It’s going to be ok…
Alright, first things first I went into this book knowing almost nothing. All I knew was that it was sapphic, and honestly, that was enough to pique my interest. I’d never read a sapphic novel before, so I had zero expectations, and that made the gut-punch of the prologue hit even harder. From page one, this story grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go. The writing, Immaculate. The details are so finely woven into the narrative that when the plot twist finally hits, you’re stunned but not lost. It’s the kind of reveal that makes you want to flip back and reread everything just to catch the breadcrumbs you missed. This debut is a masterclass in emotional chaos. Twists, turns, tension, it’s a full-blown rollercoaster, and I didn’t want to get off. The author clearly knows her way around an anxiety ridden plot and isn’t afraid to make you sweat. If you love dark, twisted stories with sassy, sharp-edged FMCs who will wreck your heart and make you thank them for it, this book is your next obsession.
I had the privilege to be an ARC reader for Not Another Lost Girl. This book hooked me from the prologue and never let go. I loved the character development and the plot really dragged me in. The spice level is perfect and the thriller aspect is page gripping. I knew there was going to be a twist, but I was on pins and needles with my guesses until the end.
I had the opportunity to listen to this in anticipation for reviewing it and I really enjoyed every moment between Lena and Raven. I only wish that this was a full novel. I wish it was longer because it was a fun world to get myself immersed in. I do enjoy like a good romance or a good fantasy or even both, but sometimes it's just good to settle down with the simple things and a simple romance sometimes is just what the doctor orders and I was completely blown away by how wonderful this was. I was not expecting the twist ending that I'm not going to reveal. that's not really an ending but there was a twist in there that I'm not going to go ahead and reveal. but yeah it was wonderful
Was chosen to be an ARC reader. Got about 70 pages in. Book was good. Really good just not particularly for me but I can definitely see people loving this. Raven gives me female Zade Meadow vibes.
3.5 stars. I am a little all over the place with my thoughts on this book. I think the story has some really great aspects. Raven is a total badass and I love that she's using her training and resources on something that most people refuse to look twice at. That being said the touch her and die vibe she has towards Lena seems more controlling than a I wanna take care of you mood. Like what grown ass woman wants someone else to buckle their seat belt for them. I usually like an instant love trope, but I really cannot decide if I like it in this story. I think Raven and Lena's relationship would benefit from more time spent getting to know each other. I do think it has a good plot line, just not all of the aspects worked in this story.
A big thank you to the Author R.M. Black for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC. This is my honest, voluntary review.
Not Another Lost Girl was SO good, it had me hooked from the very beginning! I honestly didn’t see that twist coming at all (yes, the eye-roll emoji I sent was 100% deserved 😂).
Lena and Raven were just the cutest. I loved Raven’s protective side, maybe a little stalker-ish, but in the best, most endearing way. Their love for each other really got them through those tough, emotional hours, and I adored reading it.
You absolutely crushed it with this debut! I’m so proud of you and can’t wait to read whatever you come out with next. ❤️
This book will you keep you engaged the entire time. The characters are so real and you can certainly relate to them. There were so many times I didn’t want to put it down but I knew I had to get things done. This is so well written. I certainly hope there will be more books to follow.
I enjoyed this story, but it took me a good bit to really get into it. I think I mainly had an issue with pacing and dialogue but once I settled in I liked how everything unfolded. I enjoyed Raven’s character, something about a bad-ass strong woman just works and everyone loves a hero right? 😉 I do wish we had some more context and some deeper dives into the MCs and their actual backstories though, because I felt that it was missing some parts of the story and the emotions felt slightly flat. Still a really good debut novel and looking forward to the next book from RM Black 3.5 ⭐️
Yes yes yes 🙌🏻 such an amazing read. I absolutely loved every minute of it.
Lena and Raven are 🔥. If you’re looking for a quick GRAB you kind of you read… here you go!
To R.M. Black, I’m so proud of you! You did the dang thing… and the dang thing was 💣!!!! I 🩷 you girl! Never give up. Keep the books coming. I’m excited to read more by you in the future 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Dark, gripping, and impossible to put down. The plot was genuinely awesome, layered with tension and twists that kept me locked in and constantly needing one more chapter... and the payoff at the end? Incredible.
And the smut was absolutely Delicious. Intense, steamy, and perfectly placed so it adds to the story instead of pulling you out of it. The chemistry is doing real work her and i am so about it.
A few sections did feel a bit rushed, especially someof the moments leading into the spicy scenes, which is the only reason this isn’t a full five stars. Overall, a strong, addictive read with a killer plot and very satisfying spice and ending.
This was my first sapphic book and it did not disappoint. This is a great read with lots of twists and turns along the way!! There’s romance, mystery, and a plot twist I didn’t see coming. What’s not to love?
I went in blind on this book. I heard sapphic thriller and I was ready for it. This is my first sapphic book and I was very impressed. The writing was very well done and easy to follow. The only reason I’m giving this book 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wanted more.
I read this title as an ARC. It was not what I expected but just ok. A PI and a determined best friend collaborate to save someone lost to the exploitive world of sex trafficking.
So, without giving too much away: I thought the meet cute was satisfying. The PI MFC sounded like she was very cute.I liked the peripheral characters, especially the barista.
The love story was sweet. It did feel fast, but the characters acknowledged it as well. The plot twists and plot points were very predictable for me, but the writing itself was good.
I enjoyed this book. I’m glad I got to read it.

I had the privilege of being an ARC reader for R.M. Black. The plot had me from the get go and I had a hard time putting it down. The plot pulled me in and I couldn't wait to see how it would continue to unfold. The plot twist got me - even though I had a feeling the story was headed in the direction it took. I honestly have placed this title back into my TBR pile to reread.
